AEW Dynamite on 5/20/26 was a very strange show, folks. A lot of noise, a lot of bodies flying around, a lot of “action”—but not always a lot of substance. You had Jericho teaming with The Young Bucks in a match full of interference, shillelaghs, random run-ins, onions in a bag—yes, onions—and a big Stadium Stampede preview brawl to close the segment. Just a pile of stuff.Mark Briscoe beat Tommaso Ciampa in an Anything Goes match, Swerve and Bandido had a chaotic pull-apart style segment, Moxley and Kyle O'Reilly went to a draw in a match that only woke people up at the very last second, the women's tag was a complete mess, and Darby Allin retained the AEW World Title against Speedball Mike Bailey in a title reign that, frankly, has not been working.In this review, I break down every match, every segment, what worked, what absolutely did not work, and why this show felt like a lot of motion without enough meaning. It was a somewhat boring week in AEW, but don't you worry, we found things to discuss! There's Darby's title reign (which rules) and his beautiful insistence on MJF offering up his hair plugs as collateral for a title shot. We popped 30 boners over Moxley's seduction of Will Ospreay (that's right: ten each), and after horning out for awhile you can hear us painfully, carefully try to imagine what the storyline looks like for those without eyes to see. Statlander shoved Shida up against a wall, which begs the question: are we booking AEW right now?
