We know of and have heard so many stories of people losing their faith, but what about those who still believe after decades? Experiencing seasons of doubt and unbelief is quite common, but afterwards, why do some come out on the other end still believing, while many do not? Introducing Christians from all walks of life, all angles of faith and one unique relationship with who they still, after all these years, consider “God” and “savior.” Devin Shelton, folks! With a degree in Computer Science, Andy Othling of Lowercase Noises is one of the best and most equipped people to create art through altering signal flows from his guitar or keyboard. He also uses his computer science knowledge to code visual displays that match the instrumentation live. On this episode he showcases his talent while Matt analyzes the music theory used in real time. They also bond on the experience of getting lost in another world when exploring delay pedals. Andy Othling, mastermind behind Lowercase Noises (LowerCaseNoises.com) BC Music's newest artist, discusses his unique musical craft and gives us a peak into his life, inspiration, his successful music career, what his faith (or lack of) in God currently looks like and why people admire his pedalboard more than his music. The fellas also discuss why marriage counseling is effective only when couples want it to be, how culture's approach to sex potentially stunts a woman's ability to be free, and the advantages of having a penis. One of the more introspective and interesting conversations on the podcast I have ever had with Andy Othling from Lowercase Noises. He is a one man band from Albuquerque, New Mexico and his music is beautiful, haunting and trance inducing. After getting to know him a bit, I knew he’d be a great guest for the show and he did not disappoint. We speak in depth about solitude, computer science and the creative process. I urge you to listen to this episode as we go down roads that I think many people would be able to relate with. Enjoy!
