NEAPS (North East Australian Paranormal Society) is in session with Ben McLeay and Charlie Clausen and the topic today: is there life outside of Earth? The pair analyse the mass UFO siting that happened in Melbourne in 1966. The incident, known as the Westall UFO, took place at a school and many vividly remember what they saw. But not every recount adds up. Is there more to the story? Always. Also, a UFO researcher with lived experience sits down to reveal all. Introducing The Unexplained Explained, a new series on TOFOP with Friends. Across each of the four episodes, Charlie Clausen is joined by writer, performer, and podcaster, Ben McLeay. Luckily, the Brisbane-based Boonta Vista podcast host also happens to be the largest private collector of paranormal literature. Together they form NEAPS: the North-East Australia Paranormal Society. In episode one, the pair tackle one of Australia's most sensational mysteries: the poltergeist of Humpty Doo. You don't have to believe, but you do need to listen. Abi's away on business (Dome), so it's up to just Alice and Devon to talk about the 2011 Indonesian action film 'The Raid'. A team of cops descend upon a tower block to kill the crime lord on the top floor. All that stands in their way? A million extremely damp guys who all know the martial art Pencak Silat. But we can't handle Dudes Rocking of this calibre alone, so we're joined by the wonderful Ben McLeay, host of the podcast Boonta Vista, Co-founder of the Two Bit Movie Club, and inventor of BORLFF! ------ THE WINTER OF CONTENT: THE FINAL MONTH If you do feel you have money to spare, please consider supporting your local food banks with money or time! donate to the Trussell Trust here: https://www.trusselltrust.org/make-a-donation/ or the Independent food aid network here: https://www.foodaidnetwork.org.uk/donate Additionally, please consider joining a renter's union like ACORN, as rising mortgage rates will surely result in rising rent, here: https://www.acorntheunion.org.uk/join ------ Consider supporting us on our reasonably-priced patreon! https://www.patreon.com/killjamesbond ------ *WEB DESIGN ALERT* Tom Allen is a friend of the show (and the designer behind our website). In a stunning case of the stars aligning perfectly for me, I wrapped up the filmography of Tom Cruise just before his latest film started showing in cinemas & I got to do my first live episode! What a time to be alive! I got to host a screening of the new Top Gun before sitting down with Ben McLeay in front of a live audience of very attractive people to talk about how sick this film was. We do our best to avoid spoilers & instead talk at great length about G forces, whether the enemy nation was Iran, sick plane stunts & the weird rules in the local Top Gun pub that made absolutely no sense. Note: We had a lot of crowd participation which I did my best to crank up but some of it's still too hard to hear. Ben Mcleay from the fabulous Boonta Vista Podcast came for a visit this week and we spent approximately ten thousand hours drinking and chatting about the unpredictable nature of freelancing and the weird jobs we've carved out for ourselves. I have mercifully cut this down into about an hour and a half for your listening pleasure. My favourite episode yet, we wade through the murky waters of #hustleandgrind Tik Tok, learn about the habits of successful people (psychotic celebrity routines) and discuss the death of the internet by way of Search Engine Optimisation.
