What happens when a lifelong passion for science, innovation, and helping others comes together in one remarkable career? In this episode of The She Believed She Could™ Podcast, Allison Walsh sits down with Dr. Erica Stockwell, an advanced gynecologic surgeon with AdventHealth for Women, to discuss her groundbreaking work in women's healthcare, minimally invasive surgery, and medical innovation. Dr. Stockwell shares how her background in biomedical engineering, medicine, and business led her to become a pioneer in robotic surgery and surgical technology. From holding medical device patents to helping shape the future of AI-assisted healthcare, she offers a fascinating look at where women's health is headed and why innovation matters more than ever. But beyond her impressive accomplishments, Dr. Stockwell also reveals the deeply personal challenges that shaped her journey. During medical residency, she became a new mother while simultaneously caring for her infant daughter battling cancer. Her powerful story of perseverance, faith, and community support serves as a reminder that even the most successful women face valleys—and that resilience is built by continuing forward through them. Together, Allison and Dr. Stockwell explore leadership, confidence, endometriosis care, women's health advocacy, entrepreneurship, motherhood, and the courage it takes to keep believing in yourself when life gets hard. If you're looking for inspiration, practical wisdom, and a glimpse into the future of healthcare, this conversation is one you won't want to miss. Today's guest is Anna Stockwell, a recipe developer, food stylist, writer, culinary consultant, and video host. Anna has been a senior food editor at Epicurious and Bon Appétit, and is the author of two cookbooks, “For the Table” and her newest, “The Butter Book.” Anna joins host Jessie Sheehan to talk about growing up in a food-loving family, baking birthday cakes with her mom, and how she found her way into the kitchen professionally. She also does a little deep dive into butter—its history, why she loves cultured butter, when the brand really matters in a recipe, and more. Anna also walks Jessie through her Birthday Butter Cake recipe from “The Butter Book.” She explains why she loves the reverse creaming method, why she coats her cake pans with butter and sugar (instead of flour), and how boiling water helps create a glossy chocolate American buttercream. Eddie is the photographer behind some of the most iconic images of 90s hip hop, jungle and drum & bass, garage and grime. He was Metalheadz's official photographer, shot Wu-Tang Clan, Aaliyah, Biggie, Jay-Z, So Solid Crew, Estelle, Chronixx, and pretty much every rapper you cared about coming up. His work is currently exhibited at the V&A East, and he's spent the last 30 years documenting London's black music and dance culture.Eddie grew up in Brixton, Stockwell and Vauxhall, falling into record collecting at Groove Records in Soho when he was so small he couldn't see over the counter. He picked up his first camera in the late 80s — a Praktika left behind by a friend's granddad — and went on to build one of the most important visual archives of UK club culture. This is a long, deep, wide-ranging conversation, and one I came away from genuinely feeling like I'd learned something. I hope you do too.Topics covered:Growing up in South London and the village mentality of the areaEarly days at Groove Records, Red Records, Dub Vendor and the record shops of SohoGetting online in the mid-90s via Direct Connection in Stockwell — and how hip hop became the global languagePicking up a Praktika camera and falling into photography alongside record collectingWhy being analog matters in a "post-fact" world of remastered records and retconned historyThe Canon EOS 10 and learning to shoot in pitch-black clubsShooting jungle raves, Metalheadz, and protecting young people from tabloid demonisationHow Red Bull, smoking bans and changing crowd behaviour shifted the look and feel of clubsThe art of the loop — Alchemist, Dilla, No I.D. and chasing perfect samplesWorking with Wu-Tang as teenagers and learning to build a body of workPhotographing Aaliyah, Biggie, Jay-Z, Estelle and ChronixxAround the early days of grime and why he gravitated toward So Solid in South LondonDrum & bass being run by women, and the importance of Chemistry and StormThe General Levy "cancellation", gatekeeping, and protecting a cultureThe V&A East exhibition and the tension between DIY scenes and academic curationLee Scratch Perry, dub museums, and what music history should look likeMeta glasses, AI as a personal agent, and digital asset management for photographersHis advice for new photographers: intention is everything
Web and Mobile App Development (Language Agnostic, and Based on Real-life experience!)
Deploying AI in regulated, mission-critical environments is a challenge of a different order from shipping a consumer app. Where most AI practitioners enjoy the freedom to iterate quickly and fail cheaply, public sector software vendors must satisfy procurement regulations, legal liability constraints, and a profound obligation to public trust. Andrew Stockwell, VP of AI at Euna Solutions — a leading provider of cloud-based software for government bodies across the United States and Canada — has spent years operating at this intersection. In a wide-ranging conversation on the Snowpal Podcast, Stockwell walked through the technical decisions, architectural patterns, and organizational strategies his team uses to ship production-quality AI responsibly in one of the world's most demanding verticals.
On today's Good Day Health Show - ON DEMAND…Dr. Jack Stockwell, a NUCCA Chiropractor and GAPS Practitioner in SLC, UT (866.867.5070 | ForbiddenDoctor.com | JackStockwell.com), covers the the biggest news in the health and wellness space from a holistic, naturopath perspective. In this episode, Dr. Jack begins with the health dilemma of overmedication from too many prescriptions is causing more harm than healing, why he emphatically advices against receiving the flu vaccine, and how Big Pharma is making more money off us being sick than us being healthy. Dr. Jack goes on to define the "forbidden doctor" as the most powerful healing force inside your own body. He argues that this internal healing capacity is kept "hidden" by Big Pharma, which profits when individuals rely on chemical, pharmaceutical, and unnatural solutions rather than natural, holistic health.Key aspects of Dr. Stockwell's "Forbidden Doctor" philosophy include: Self-Healing: The ultimate goal is to enable the body to heal itself by breaking free from dependence on drugs and fixing the "root causes" of illness, such as poor diet and gut issuesThe "Forbidden" Info: He claims to share information that mainstream agencies and organizations—often under the influence of the pharmaceutical industry—do not want the public to know.Opposing "Chemical Living": He emphasizes that "Big Pharma... profits when people live chemically instead of naturally”.Key Focus Areas: As a NUCCA Chiropractor and GAPS Practitioner, Dr. Stockwell focuses on correcting spinal issues and restoring gut health to empower this internal doctor. Additionally, Dr. Jack points out the importance of regular physical activity, how much exercise you should be getting by age, and what kind of exercise is beneficial based on your current health situation. A big theme in the entire episode of this week's Good Day Health with Dr. Jack Stockwell has priority in how everything previously mentioned can help to lower your chances of developing Alzheimer's or other dementia-related brain deterioration. Lastly, Doug and Dr. Jack join forces to address listener questions, such as the overuse of technology and devices, and more.

Podcast-Restoring IntimacyIn this episode, Megan Stockwell shares a heartfelt message on restoring intimacy with our Bridegroom, Jesus. She explains that true closeness with Him flows through surrender and forgiveness, drawing from John 15:1-11 and the imagery of the Vine and the Branches. Megan emphasizes that intimacy naturally brings seasons of pruning-times when Jesus lovingly removes what hinders fruitfulness. This refining process prepares us to bear lasting fruit, reminding us that if we desire “the more,” we must pursue real, surrendered intimacy with our Bridegroom. This week, we're bringing you Tristan's conversation with Tobias Rose-Stockwell on his podcast “Into the Machine.” Tobias is a designer, writer, and technologist and the author of the book “The Outrage Machine.” Tobias and Tristan had a critical, sobering, and surprisingly hopeful conversation about the current path we're on AI and the choices we could make today to forge a different one. This interview clearly lays out the stakes of the AI race and helps to imagine a more humane AI future—one that is within reach, if we have the courage to make it a reality. We're taking a few weeks as a church to focus on our three core values: Presence, Formation, and Mission. This week at our Stockwell service, Lou taught on our value of ‘Mission' based on 2 Timothy 1:3-14. We look at our call to embrace our mission as disciples by sharing the Gospel with confidence over fear. We see how Paul urges Timothy to ‘fan into flame the gift of God', allowing the Spirit to provide power, love, and self-discipline. Sharing faith requires courage and obedience, taking the long view, and being fully dependent on God, not personal eloquence.

Dr. Jack explains how sugar throws the body out of balance and why the only person who can bring it back into balance is you. You'll learn:Why liquid sugars are the most dangerous form of sugar Simple strategies to strengthen your willpower against cravings How to spot hidden sugars on food labels Ways to make water fun and flavorful without sugar (think cucumber, lemon, ginger, or even watermelon with jalapeño) It's a practical and empowering conversation to help you take control of your health naturally—and unlock the “forbidden doctor” within.

Listen now on Apple, Spotify, and YouTube.—Amanda runs Stockwell Strategy, a user experience research and innovation strategy practice. She has spent the last 15 years helping teams understand who their users are, what they need, and how to tie those insights to product and business strategy. Happy clients include startups, nonprofits, fortune 100s, and nearly everywhere in between. Amanda is happiest when helping teams spin up their UX research practices and individuals refine their research and strategy skills. She also frequently writes and speaks about all things UX and product, teaches classes on LinkedIn Learning and for Duke's Design and Technology Innovation program, and helps organize local Ladies that UX meetups. You can also find her hiking, spoiling her dog, or sharing lobster facts. In our conversation, we discuss:* The concept of “research onions,” how core skills are just one layer of what makes someone effective in UX.* Why understanding business goals and context makes research more actionable, not less user-centered.* How collaborating with cross-functional teammates means more than just scheduling whiteboard sessions.* Tips for solo researchers on becoming better collaborators, from small talk to strategic alignment.* A networking approach that's not transactional and why your next opportunity may come from a six-year-old Slack intro. Some takeaways:* Research is more than the craft. Amanda introduces the idea of “onion layers” to describe the full spectrum of skills researchers need. Beyond knowing methods and tools, researchers should understand how business decisions are made and where their insights fit in.* You don't need to be a business strategist but you do need to care. Understanding cash flow, team capacity, and strategic priorities helps researchers frame insights that get acted on. It's not about becoming a PM; it's about asking the right questions and understanding how your work fits the broader picture.* Relationship-building is essential, especially when you're the only researcher. Whether it's baking banana bread to attract teammates or tailoring your report formats to individual preferences, Amanda shows how small acts of intentionality lead to better collaboration and insight adoption.* Network like a human, not a transaction. Amanda advises networking consistently and authentically, not just when you're looking for a job. The best opportunities often come from long-forgotten connections so be curious, be helpful, and stay in touch with generosity.* Treat your stakeholders like users. Just like you wouldn't ship a product without understanding your users, you shouldn't present findings without understanding your audience. It's all singing, dancing, chatting and eating at Dish this week. Cynthia Erivo is a British actor, singer and songwriter, well known for her phenomenal vocals and performances on stage and screen. She comes to the Dish table to talk about her new album, I Forgive You; a 20-track record which tells her life story in four distinct parts and showcases the full range of her incredible voice. It's released on 6 June, UK. Erivo, who was born in Stockwell, London but now lives in Los Angeles, made her Broadway debut as Celie in The Color Purple alongside Jennifer Hudson, a role for which she won the Tony Award for Best Actress in a Musical and Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album. She has also received two Best Actress Oscar nominations for her roles in Harriet (2019) and most recently Wicked! (2024) where she played Elphaba opposite Ariana Grande. Other notable projects include heist thriller Widows the Netflix crime thriller Luther: The Fallen Sun, and the drama Drift. To mark the start of June, Angela served the table a vegan roasted red pepper, aubergine & freekeh salad with additional courgettes (Angela's favourite). As Cynthia doesn't drink, the trio enjoyed a glass of Real Peony Blush Non Alcoholic Sparkling Tea alongside it. For those that do want to match their salad with a glass of wine, the Waitrose experts suggest a glass of Eminence de Bijou. We begin the episode by getting to know Cynthia's love of vegan food, understanding her garlic allergy and dislike of the onion family (sorry, onion family). Over the salad, we learn more about her new record, including how Ariana Grande helped to make it happen and get a first-class demonstration of just how powerful her voice is. Plus, we finally found a good writer for the End of Show Question! You can watch full episodes of Dish on YouTube All recipes from this podcast can be found at waitrose.com/dishrecipes A transcript for this episode can be found at waitrose.com/dish We can't all have a Michelin star chef in the kitchen, but you can ask Angela for help. Send your dilemmas to dish@waitrose.co.uk and she'll try to answer them in a future episode. Dish from Waitrose is made by Cold Glass Productions.
