The Olde Park Hotel has stood for over 130 years in Ballinger, Texas, which is known as the Greatest Little Town in Texas. From the outside, the hotel looks pretty unpretentious, but it has a storied history. The building has housed not only a hotel, but a brothel, a boarding house, school, restaurant and antique store. Today, it is run as an event host that can be rented. This is mostly for ghost hunts because this hotel is said to be one of the most haunted hotels in Texas. The episode where we share our (kinda) investigation of the Basin Park Hotel in Eureka Springs, Arkansas! Listen, Eureka Springs is a spooky girl and has multiple haunted hotels, so we had to hit this place up too! Full disclosure, we didn't really investigate but we did do a haunted tour, so evidence is gonna be limited here. We learn the history behind this hotel, all of the hoteliers who owned it, Sarah's extreme dislike of bare feet, use the name “Joey” way too much, and encounter a Wampus! www.thetipsyghost.com Find us on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and TikTok @thetipsyghost Email us your stories at thetipsyghost@gmail.com Show your support when you subscribe, leave a great review, & give us a 5 start rating— it really helps!

Elsewhere, there's great excitement about the prospect of Gauff meeting Karolina Muchova in the semis, analysis of Novak Djokovic's victory over Taylor Fritz, and chat about Ben Shelton beating Frances Tiafoe in primetime on Ashe. How does Shelton make David feel young? And what caused Tiafoe to be so flat? After Iga Swiatek's exit on Sunday, the tournament had a different feel on Monday, and all the more so when Jessica Pegula and Ons Jabeur followed her out of the tournament. Catherine, David and Matt discuss that, review great performances from Zheng Qinwen and Madison Keys, take stock of Pegula's career, and review the men's matches which included Carlos Alcaraz putting on a show and Alexander Zverev winning a gruelling battle with Jannik Sinner as the humidity took its toll on both players. It was another glorious day in New York which started with Carlos Alcaraz putting on a show, finished with Daniil Medvedev and Pam Shriver gifting us an all-time great on court interview, and featured big wins for the likes of Jessica Pegula, Ons Jabeur and Jannik Sinner. Catherine, David and Matt talk through all of that, as well as Jack Draper's best Grand Slam result, more misplaced belief in Grigor Dimitrov, and another bad day for Cameron Norrie. Catherine, David and Matt discuss their victories as well as Iga Swiatek's ruthlessness, another big win for Caroline Wozniacki, Daniil Medvedev's spectacular aggro and trolling from the night before, defeat for Elena Rybakina, and a late night scare for Novak Djokovic. On day four of the US Open, 38-year-old Stan Wawrinka got the big match moment he was looking for, but 36-year-old Andy Murray did not. Catherine, David and Matt discuss those two matches and dig deep into Andy Murray's post match interviews in which he questioned his future. Elsewhere, there's chat about Jack Draper beating Hubert Hurkacz, Jessica Pegula and Elina Svitolina setting up an enticing third round match, the end of John Isner's career, and Carlos Alcaraz bringing some much-needed fun to the night session. Dan and Connie LeFave met through their interest in the paranormal. They've explored and investigated numerous locations over the years but never intended to buy a haunted building. That interest in the paranormal led them to the Olde Park Hotel in Ballinger, Texas. The hotel was built around 1886 and had also been a brothel, boarding house, and might have even been a school at one time. Months after visiting, the owner of the building contacted them and told Dan that “the spirits really want you and Connie to have the building.” Soon they become the newest owners of the Olde Park Hotel. Dan and Connie have had experiences in the hotel since day one, and It's never let up. It's said that more than 30 spirits reside in the building. The Basin Park Hotel serves as a luxury getaway for people in northern Arkansas, its surrounding areas and from throughout the country. The large building dates to 1905 and gets its name from the natural spring nearby that some believed had healing powers. It could be the spirits of some of those looking for a miracle cure to their ailments who still wander the halls of the Basin Park Hotel, and tour guide Diane Newcomb has made a career out of collecting evidence of the paranormal activity there. This episode dives into the history of the historic hotel and the unique way in which the hotel and Diane conduct ongoing investigations to try to identify the ghosts who still seem to call the hotel home.

After two years behind fences and barbed wire, one of the country's most famous hotels is getting ready to re-open its doors this Friday. Covid made Auckland's Jet Park Hotel popular not with the usual airport guests but with those ill with the virus, needing to isolate. The Managed Isolation Facility housed Covid positive patients and their families for at least 14 days, but some stayed even longer. RNZ reporter Rayssa Almeida went inside the newly renovated hotel to look at the transformation.
In the 1800's, the railway system linked all the Yorkshire towns, enabling The Park Hotel to thrive as a seaside resort destination for mill workers living in nearby areas like West Yorkshire and Bradford. The Park Hotel was in its heyday during this time, many stars stayed here as a base for their performances. According to Andy Moore, it wasn't all fun and games though. He believes the hotel was home to very dark and satanic rituals that may have even resulted in sacrificial murder. Today we hear the story of The Park Hotel. PART 2 - AVAILABLE TO GRAVE KEEPERS ONLY - LISTEN HERE In part two of our interview, available only to Grave Keepers, we discuss: What spirits haunt the Falcon Hotel? Did the phrase “That's what I was wondering…” solve a murder? In the morning hours of July 16, 1936, Helen Clevenger's uncle discovered her bloodied body crumpled on the floor of her small room in Asheville's grand Battery Park Hotel. She had been shot through the chest. Buncombe County Sheriff Laurence Brown, up for reelection, desperately searched for the teenager's killer as the public clamored for answers. Though witnesses reported seeing a white man leave the scene, Brown's focus turned instead to the hotel's Black employees and on August 9 he arrested bell hop Martin Moore. After a frenzied four-day trial that captured the nation's attention, Moore was convicted of Helen's murder on August 22. Though Moore confessed to Sherriff Brown, doubt of his guilt lingers and many Southerners feared that justice had not, in fact, been served. Author Anne Chesky Smith weaves together varying accounts of the murder and investigation to expose a complex and disturbing chapter in Asheville's history.
