What a dream week it's been for Alphonso Davies. Bayern Munich will be his new home come January and Vancouver Whitecaps fans should be in for a fun ride to end his time here if his performance in Saturday's win over Minnesota is any indication. Two goals and two assists. A true Canadian double double. To celebrate we're bring you a German themed episode this week (well sort of) as we delve into Davies' transfer to the Bundesliga champions and what that may mean for the future of the Whitecaps. Where will the money be spent? Is the pressure on to find the new talent? How do we best develop future Phonzies? Turning our attention to matters on the pitch, Davies stole the show on Saturday, but what a great week it was results-wise for the 'Caps with a Canadian Championship win over Montreal and a vital six-pointer triumph against Minnesota. We look back at the win over the Loons, ponder what, if anything, can turn this defence around, and hear from both head coaches, Minnesota's Adrian Heath and Vancouver's Carl Robinson. All this, plus we sit down for an in-depth chat with Doneil Henry about what brought him back to MLS, why Vancouver, his hopes for the future, and what advice he'd give Phonzie as a Canadian in European football. And there's a double dose of Wavelength featuring The Business and Die Toten Hosen, and more besides. Well that's it all over for another season. Exciting along the way but disappointing at the very end. That was Vancouver Whitecaps year. A 2-0 loss to Portland Timbers in their Western Conference Semi-final second leg match at BC Place on Sunday evening brought the 'Caps season to a sudden stop. We look back at the game, the few highs and the larger woes, and hear from both coaches, Vancouver's Carl Robinson and Portland's Caleb Porter. Just what went wrong, which players simply didn't rise to the occasion and what does this season do to set the 'Caps up moving forward and what changes do they need to make to take that next step? But there's still another game to come at BC Place this week. The Canadian men's national team are in town to face Honduras on Friday. We take a quick look ahead to that World Cup qualifier and hear the thoughts for Whitecaps President, and former Canadian player and manager, Bobby Lenarduzzi. And there's still time for a quick look at some more successful Canadian sides this weekend - the Ottawa Fury and the UBC Thunderbirds. Even Steve Nash has a few things to say to us. Have a listen!

Vancouver Whitecaps have packed their bags and hit the road for six weeks, but fear not, the AFTN podcast will keep you close to the guys. In Episode 114 of "There's Still Time" we look back at the win over RSL and ahead to the Montreal Impact and the five game road stretch ahead, with audio from coaches Carl Robinson and Jeff Cassar. Will this finally be the game that sees Gershon Koffie become more consistent? Will Octavio Rivero get the big money move he seeks if he can't finish one on one chances? And just how much better and key can David Ousted get? The front four seems pretty set now (squad rotation aside) and it looks to be a South American affair. We chat with one of them, Argentine midfielder Mauro Rosales about his and the Caps' season so far, his injuries and does he prefer the number 10 role? Away from MLS action, the tightly clad ball girls Marianne and Gabby brought us the draw for the CONCACAF Champions League and the Caps will face old foes and new in Seattle Sounders and DC Olimpia. We hear from Whitecaps Club President Bobby Lenarduzzi about drawing the Sounders, travelling to Honduras and more. And there's still time to hear from Carl Robinson about the Caps' plans for the July transfer window with a busy end of year awaiting the team. Have a listen!

Vancouver Whitecaps are back in training after their World Cup break and we're back with our second Caps' flavoured World Cup special podcast. We hear from Jay DeMerit about what it was like to play in South Africa for the US in 2010, whilst Bobby Lenarduzzi shares some memories of turning out in Canada's first ever Finals appearance against France at Mexico 86. Heading to Korea and Japan in 2002, Andy O'Brien tells us what it was like to be there as part of the Republic of Ireland squad and shares some of his favourite memories of watching the World Cup as a fan. So does Carl Robinson, who talks Italia 90, what it would have meant to him to play in a World Cup finals and why he wants his players to have that chance to play at the top level. And there's lots of Scotland/Wales/England banter too. But it's not all World Cup chat. The Whitecaps returned to training this week, keen to build on their recent good run of form but to also shore up their defensive lapses. We chat with Carl Robinson, Andy O'Brien and David Ousted about whether the World Cup break will be a momentum killer, how to stop the Caps' leaking goals and what it's like to be a defender in this modern age of going down at the first contact. And there's still time to play you some more snippets from something that makes every World Cup complete for us, "quality" official and unofficial World Cup songs, including Canada's official song for the 1986 World Cup. There's a new king in town. Long live King Carl. Carl Robinson was officially confirmed as the new Whitecaps head coach today, so we're bringing you a Robbo heavy episode 31 of "There's Still Time", the AFTN Vancouver Whitecaps podcast. We chat about Robinson's appointment, what it means for the future direction of the Whitecaps and hear a cutdown section of his introductory press conference. Even though he had a jam packed morning, Carl made time to sit down with Steve and myself for a special podcast chat about his appointment, his managerial influences, who he might have his eye on to bring in, what his team will look like, the future for the young players at the club and lots more. And talking of the younger players, everybody agrees they need to find them more playing time, but where will they find it? We speak with Whitecaps President Bobby Lenarduzzi about whether the Caps will be getting their own USL Pro team any time soon. Have a listen.

Don't worry, it may be winter but we're still able to play here in Vancouver and bring you Episode 30 of "There's Still Time", AFTN's Whitecaps and MLS podcast. Despite it being the offseason there's still been a lot of talking points cropping up in Whitecapsland over the past week and there's going to be more to come before the year is out. Christmas is coming, the goose is getting fat, but will the Caps be goosed when it comes to landing the man they want to be their new manager? Bob Bradley is the man who might be named. Does he want it? Is he the right man for the job? Bobby Lenarduzzi says he hopes to have an announcement next week. We share our thoughts on the whole thing. The confirmed Whitecaps news is what players have been released. For the best or some mistakes in there? And do any of them still have the chance to be Caps when the new season starts? With 19 players now left on the MLS squad, the gaps are now very clear. Moving on to MLS matters, we pick over Don Garber's 'State of the League' address. Not as exciting for us as in some years gone by but there were a few key talking points to come out of it. The current MLS season just won't end it seems. With the MLS Cup finally taking place in a chilly Kansas City this weekend, what will we see? Don't worry, Predictapooch is back to let us all know. So sit back, let your googles hangout and share a pre-Christmas feast with us.

CEO of the FIFA 2015 Women's World Cup National Organising Committee, Peter Montopoli, was in town and we speak with him about the upcoming World Cup, the turf controversy and the lack of professional women's teams in Canada and none existing in the NWSL. Episode 20 of "There's Still Time", the AFTN podcast, is another of our popular roundtables. Recorded in two parts, this the second part, the first of which was published as Episode 19 last week. My usual co-host Steve and myself are joined by Zachary Meisenhamer from Curva Collective, long time fan Steven Lamothe and AFTN writer Jay Duke to a lot of Caps and MLS talking points. After looking at the state of the Whitecaps nation last episode, our five man team try and look at where things have gone wrong this season. We turn our attentions to Martin Rennie, what he brings to the Caps and the future of the gaffer and the Whitecaps, this season and beyond. Is he responsible for the Whitecaps' poor recent form or do the players have to shoulder a lot of the responsibility? If Rennie is to be replaced, who are the main candidates out there to take over and will any changes go further up the managerial chain? And there's still time to chat about transparency in MLS, or lack of. So many questions! There's some answers but there's also a lot more debated in amongst it all too, including Bobby Lenarduzzi being compared to your local corner store, David Ferreira to sticking a straw into a cow's neck and what magical shoe purchases can be made with allocation money.
