Oregon will play the highlight of its road schedule this season when it travels to Ann Arbor to face Michigan. The Ducks beat the Wolverines in front of 109,733 people at the Big House in 2007, but few current Ducks really know what to expect in college football's largest stadium. Derrick Harmon, however, does. The D-lineman who previously played at Michigan State said on Wednesday that games at Michigan are “not that loud.” Is that just trash talk from a player predisposed not to like Michigan? Or is there something to it? Sports columnist Bill Oram and Brenna Greene of KOIN debate that on this week's episode of The Oregonian Sports podcast. Also discussed on this week's episode: • A recap of Sport Oregon's first-of-its-kind Night of Champions, which honored Megan Rapinoe and Pat Casey, among others • Breaking down the No. 1 Ducks game at Michigan. Can anything stop the Ducks? • Donovan Clingan has been dominant in limited minutes, when will his time on the court increase — and what does that mean for Deandre Ayton? • No, seriously, what does that mean for Ayton? We're back with another AFTN Soccer Show packed full of Vancouver Whitecaps, MLS, CPL, and women's soccer chat and interviews, and this episode we're joined by Harjeet Johal. The Whitecaps' playoff path looks grim, with a first round match-up against one of the strong LA teams looming, and even then, possibly only if they get through a play-in game. A loss to LAFC on Sunday saw them winless in six MLS matches. We pick over the bones of that one, the emotional comments of Vanni after the game, and what it all means to the team as they head into Decision Day. We've two interviews in this episode, both with former Whitecaps players who now ply their trade with LAFC. First up is the man who sits second in the all-time scoring list for MLS, Kei Kamara. Kei chats about his return to Los Angeles where his journey to the pros really all started for him, the win over the 'Caps, and how the way he left Vancouver still doesn't sit comfortably with him. We also chat with goalkeeper Thomas Hasal about his move to LA after injury, learning under a legend like Hugo Lloris, and hopes for the future. Turning our attention to the CPL, it's going down to the wire for Vancouver, Pacific, and Valour. We look at the weekend's action, the last games coming up next Saturday, and chat with the three head coaches about it all - Afshin Ghotbi, James Merriman, and Phillip Dos Santos. All of this, plus there's a look ahead to the Whitecaps Girls Elite's Champions Cup match-up with Christine Sinclair's Portland Thorns, we chat about the women's game in Canada at domestic and international level, there's more Britpop chat and music, Kinky Machine continue their stint as our Album of the Month, and NEESKENS return in Wavelength. The greatest league in the world has returned, and boy was it a doozy! From first-minute penalties in Seattle, to the Naeher-aissance denying Utah their first-ever win in front of a "sold out" crowd, to 17-year-old Kennedy Fuller making as many headlines as Bay FC goalscorer Asisat Oshoala, there were narratives galore. But Eric, Evan, and Arianna can only focus on one thing: the Kansas City Current and Portland Thorns opening CPKC Stadium with nine goals, tying the NWSL single-game record. Did Mike Norris make a wise decision rolling out an entirely new backline? Did Vlatko Andonovski properly adjust to Janine Beckie's arrival in the second half? What on earth was Christine Sinclair doing starting the game at right wing? They get into all of it and more. Art by Eli Elbogen Music by Devin Drobka's Bell Dance Songs
