His experience extends beyond operations. He's served on 21 boards – commercial and not-for-profit – and even created and chaired trusts, including an employee ownership structure. But perhaps what he values most is the time spent engaging with fellow leaders. He's facilitated over 800 meetings and had confidential discussions with over 300 business leaders, and even arranged over 500 workshops with over 200 different speakers. These conversations, these shared experiences, have provided invaluable insights into the real-world challenges leaders face. He's now semi-retired from operational leadership and is passionate about sharing these insights.I was delighted to have Bob join me recently to create this Side Mirror episode on Sailing in Stormy Waters : Survive and thrive in a difficult economic environment.Connect with BobConnect with Bob on LinkedIn : www.LinkedIn.com/in/BobBradleyCheck out other leaders' recommendations for Bob: recommend.BobBradley.co.ukWebsite: www.BobBradley.co.uk Additional ResourcesPlease email Bob@BobBradley.co.uk for a free PDF copy of his eBook on Survive and Thrive.Free thoughts, tips and tools for business leaders with 50 - 500 staff: www.BobOnBusiness.co.ukPlay your leadership cards right (book on Amazon): 100days.BobBradley.co.uk About AndyI'm an experienced business leader and a passionate developer of people in the automotive finance industry, internationally.During over twenty five years, I have played a key role in developing businesses including Alphabet UK, BMW Corporate Finance UK, BMW Financial Services Singapore, BMW Financial Services New Zealand and Tesla Financial Services UK.At the same time, I have coached individuals and delivered leadership development programmes in 17 countries across Asia, Europe and North America.I started Aquilae in 2016 to enable “Fulfilling Performance” in the mobility industry, internationally.Learn more about Fulfilling PerformanceCheck out Release the handbrake! Kinni og Linq krangler fortsatt om VAR! Hvor sykt er det å sparke Bob Bradley? Patreon denne uken: Moss-spiller Saadiq Elmi
We had the pleasure of interviewing Tony McGuinness of Above & Beyond over Zoom video! Before Tony McGuinness was Tony McGuinness of Above & Beyond, he was another artist, another music industry professional, another man entirely, which is completely understandable. Because, for the Tony McGuinness who is finally releasing his debut album almost three decades after he recorded it, it was a whole other lifetime.‘Salt' is the great lost solo project from the songwriter who would become the chief “male voice” lyricist in Above & Beyond (beloved favorites like “Sun & Moon,” “Thing Called Love,” “Northern Soul,” “Gratitude,” and more). Now, at last, in 2024, the fans, followers, and the fascinated can hear the DNA of that songwriting mastery. McGuinness wrote the heart of Salt's nine tracks in a heady six-month burst between 1995 and 1996, the result of a classic '90s whirlwind romance in London that was popping off with the explosion of club culture in the UK.This whirlwind romance became the inspiration behind “Biker Babe,” the first single from the forthcoming album. “She had a Triumph motorcycle T-shirt on,” says McGuinness. "And I just went twang on my guitar and sang: ‘biker babe, biker babe…'. And that's how that song came.”In “Biker Babe,” a sun-dappled Sixties strum with, let's just say it, Noel Gallagher-shaped contours, Tony wrote a song where he and Shelley's story was transposed onto characters in Twin Peaks. “Which is where the mention of The Roadhouse comes from," he says of a lovelorn confessional which, 28 years later, opens Salt, "and ran with that all the way through to the ending. I knew she was gonna have to go back to America because she had no visa, and she had a flat in America that she didn't want to lose.”Also on the “Biker Babe” single is “Babydoll White,” a title which fans may recognize in another form from McGuinness's Deep House alias ‘Fingerprint.' He had remixed the track as a deep house record and released it in 2020 on Anjunabeats; however, the song originated in a completely different form. “Babydoll White” features a guitar solo by co-producer and longtime collaborator Bob Bradley.‘Biker Babe', and the entire “Salt” album is out now via Anjunabeats. Hey, Fire fans! Your Men in Red, the Chicago Fire, played the New England Revolution to a 3-3 draw at Gillette Stadium, behind goals from Georgios Koutsias, Maren Haile-Selassie, and an own goal from the Revs defense. However - and as per usual - the Fire were unable to hold the lead, giving up equalizing goals off of corner kicks to Bobby Wood and Jozy Altidore. (And that was after Noel Buck opened things up for New England with a banger.) In the second half of the show, Nick looks forward to the mid-week matchup against Eastern Conference rival Toronto FC. TFC is coming off a solid win, but internal struggles between manager Bob Bradley and Italian star Federico Bernardeschi could undermine their chances of a win streak. If the Fire continue to play counter-attacking football, and Lorenzo Insigne and Richie Laryea can't pick up the slack, maybe the Men in Red from the States take the three points.
