After finding this photo, I was given a copy of a book, Wilson County History, that was compiled and published by Louise Stadler in 1990. Within this book, there was an article on Father Zarb's Garden, together with articles on Father Peter Zarb and Sacred Heart Church in Floresville. This covenant is universal, applying to all people and creatures; unilateral, initiated solely by God; and unconditional, not dependent on human faithfulness. By promising never to flood the earth again, God stabilized creation so His redemptive plan through Christ could unfold. This covenant reminds us that even in our chaotic world, God is sovereignly preserving creation until His purposes are complete. This story, though well-known on its own, is just a part of the larger story of Genesis, and a part of the even larger story of redemption. Through Joseph we ultimately get a glimpse of Jesus; through Joseph's rule we find a picture of God's kingdom.
