After the reality virtually hackathon, we spoke with Brian Cohn from the winning team move2improve. Others on the team were Roghayeh (Leila) Barmak Betsy Skrip Cameron Peirce Chris Berry The reality virtually hackathon had 450 developers from 35 countries composing 105 teams competing for various prizes. 40% of participants were women/non-binary. This makes the reality Virtually hackathon the largest, most diverse XR hackathon in the world. Brian is the chief data scientist at Kaspect working with fortune 10 companies, hospitals, and biotech companies. Brian's Phd focused on human muscle control patterns as they related to heath, development, aging and pathological conditions. We discuss Brian's experience at the Reality Virtually Hackathon before digging into his medical background. We then dig into Brian’s work using peripherals to track and treat diseases such as Parkinson’s. In today’s episode, we chat with Brian Cohn, chief data scientist at Kaspect and a Graduate Research Fellow for the National Science Foundation, where he is funded to research mathematical theory and clinical practice for measuring and detecting high-dimensional neuromuscular control. Brian is also a consultant to automotive, biomedical, pharmaceutical, and legal corporations who seek guidance in transitioning from traditional BI to artificial intelligence. His expertise is in designing human-in-the-loop architecture, conducting error propagation testing, and designing experimental paradigms. In this episode, we listen as KGI’s director of corporate partnerships, Shannon Braun, talks to Brian about the use of virtual reality platforms for clinical applications.
In today’s episode, we chat with Brian Cohn, who is a biomedical scientist, inventor, and consultant. He is the Chief Data Scientist at Kaspect. In 2014, Brian earned his bachelor’s degree at Pitzer College while also working on a Team Master’s Project with KGI students.

In the interview: Tyler McCartney came to Northwood with the sole intent of working in the Automotive Aftermarket. He currently works as the business manager at a repair facility. He writes service, schedules, purchase’s parts, and pays the bills. Tyler knows that this experience has been great for him. He is currently looking to intern for a corporation this upcoming year. His plans would be to ultimately pursue the field of category management. Nicholas Holton is a senior at Northwood University. He will graduate with an aftermarket major. He currently works for Highway and Heavy parts in Coleman Michigan. Nick does content creation and shipping and receiving. Christopher Berry is a senior at Northwood University in the Automotive Aftermarket Management BBA program. He is enrolled in an accelerated four-year masters program and will be pursuing an MBA in Marketing following graduation. Due to the course-heavy nature of the program, Chris has limited aftermarket experience. However, he interned last year with HDMA and Eaton Corp at HDAW 2017 in January. He is currently seeking an internship for this upcoming summer. Chris has a strong passion for the aftermarket and wants to learn as much as he can about the industry. Zach Rizo is a senior at Northwood University majoring in automotive aftermarket management with a minor in marketing. He plans to pursue sales in either the automotive or heavy-duty aftermarket as a territory sales rep. Zach enjoys the people side of the business and feels the way people treat each other from customer to competitor make the aftermarket a vibrant industry. That is why he will pursue this avenue. Zach is an avid sports fan and loves spending time with family and friends. Over the summer Zach completed his first sprint triathlon and plans to do more!
