Lynne was a fitness instructor and in the best shape of her life when she was given 3-6 months to live. She was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer in 2015. The prognosis was dire, but Lynne held on to hope and she cried out to God. In her full surrender to God's will, she heard Him tell her it was not yet her time to go. She had chemo: 8 months of fulfirinox, 8 months of gemcitabine (Gemzar). The clinical trial of immunotherapy was a combination of nivolumab, ipilimumab, and cobimetinib. A few of Lynne's favorite verses for her fight: 2 Thessalonians 3:3 "But the Lord is faithful and he will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one." Lamentations 3:22-23 "Because of the Lord's great love we are not consumed for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. God loves you. He pours out extravagant grace to you every single day." God created you in His own image. You are His beloved child and He has incredible plans in store for your future. God wants the very best for you and His vision for your life will always be immeasurably more than you could ever ask, dream, or imagine. While living the American dream, Chuck Keels received the shocking news that he had advanced stage 4 cancer, with a very limited time to live. The initial despair and defeat he felt quickly gave way to a resolve to not only survive but to thrive. While on his “cancer journey,” and with a newly discovered positive attitude about life, he met and married his equal, Hannah, who was also dealing with stage 4 cancer and an equally grim prognosis. Those who experienced Hannah and Chuck together often defined their relationship as “divine.” While fighting for their lives, Hannah and Chuck created The Living Hope Cancer Foundation, which grew quickly to inspire thousands. Hannah, the truest symbol imaginable of hope, passed in late 2022. Imagine hearing, "There is nothing we can do for you. You've got stage 4 cancer that has progressed to 90% of your bones. You may have 1-3 months to live. Just go home and be at peace with your family." Chuck Keel had always been a fighter. At a low point in the hospital, Jesus appears to Chuck and touches him on the shoulder. My faith was what allowed me to say, you know what, I'm the guy riding around in my truck with my white knuckles trying to control everything, my kids, my job, my relationships, and guess what? Now that Jesus is a big, huge part of my life and my best friend, I can't change these things. But guess what? How about if I give them all to Him? I give them all to You, Jesus. Change the things you can and give the rest to God. It is so true. I lost my wife to cancer. I have kids, I have bills, I have every human thing just like you guys do. But the joy that I have in my heart now from walking with Jesus is absolutely incredible. Hannah Keels, who joined her husband, former Fostoria resident Chuck Keels, in urging cancer patients to "Get Up and Live," lost her battle with the disease Tuesday at age 48. Chuck's hometown was among their stops as she and her husband traveled throughout the United States to share their story of maintaining an active lifestyle despite both having dealt with stage four cancer diagnoses. While living in Scottsdale, Arizona, the Keelses founded the Living Hope Cancer Foundation to help coach cancer through their treatment experiences. They knew of which they spoke, with Hannah Keels actively battling metastatic breast cancer and Chuck having experienced a bout with prostate cancer before, he says, Jesus physically touched him. Hannah's cancer spread to other parts of her body and her brain as her battle continued for about six years. During last spring and summer, she drove a mobile home from San Diego to St. Augustine, Florida, as Chuck completed a "Ride Like a Thriver" bicycle tour to bring attention to their foundation. 5 years ago Chuck was getting sick and didn't know what was happening but assumed he would wake up the next day and feel fine. With every day that passed, Chuck starting feeling worse. When aspirin no longer helped him manage his pain, Chuck went to the hospital. While in the ER, the doctor informed him that he had two fractured vertebrae. At 5 am the doctor came back in and shared that everything wrong with him was cancer-related.
