Text Dr. Lenz any feedback or questions 2025 Pediatric Cyclic Vomiting Syndrome (CVS) Guidelines: A Brain–Gut, Migraine-Based Action PlanThe script explains updated 2025 guidelines for pediatric cyclic vomiting syndrome (CVS), framing CVS as a disorder of gut–brain interaction and a “migraine equivalent,” with up to 82% of affected children having personal or family migraine history, shifting treatment focus to the central nervous system. It highlights links to nociplastic pain/central sensitization and higher rates of neurodivergence (ADHD, autism), supporting a holistic biopsychosocial approach and trigger management, especially consistent sleep. Key terminology (abortive vs prophylactic therapy, strong vs conditional recommendations) is clarified. The only strong recommendation is early abortive anti-migraine therapy (triptans like sumatriptan or high-dose NSAIDs like ibuprofen) during prodrome; conditional options include aprepitant, ondansetron, and early IV rehydration. Prevention starts with lifestyle and supplements (riboflavin, CoQ10), then escalates to propranolol, cyproheptadine, or amitriptyline; topiramate is generally avoided unless others fail. The guidelines address catamenial and “calendar time” CVS, distinguish CVS from cannabinoid hyperemesis syndrome via six months of cannabis cessation, and emphasize creating a written green/yellow/red CVS action plan for home, school, and emergency care.00:00 Lost in the Fog01:56 CVS as Brain Gut Disorder04:19 Migraine Link Explained06:13 Nociplastic Pain and Sensitization08:48 Neurodivergence Connection10:50 Guideline Terms Decoded13:26 Abortive Rescue Plan17:18 Preventing Future Episodes22:05 Special Subtypes and CHS24:08 Action Plan Zones26:04 Holistic Approach and Wrap UpClick here for the YouTube Channel Click here for the YouTube channel Support the showWhen I started this podcast and YouTube Channel—and the book that came before it—I had my patients in mind. Episode 26-24 Cancer? Here's A Holistic Approach… "How do you treat cancer holistically?" That's a question I've been asked many times during my 37 years of being a Chiropractor. And every time I give the same same answer: "You don't. You don't treat cancer holistically. In fact, you don't 'treat' anything holistically. You treat the PERSON." It's true. Unlike traditional medicine, a holistic approach to cancer does NOT "treat" the cancer. It treats the person. Specifically, a holistic approach to cancer utilizes health-promoting habits… all aimed at helping the individual establish an environment in which the cancer can't survive. And on this week's episode I share eight of these health-promoting habits. Eight habits that will help create an environment in which cancer can't survive. An environment in which the body can heal itself. Give this episode a good listen if you, or anyone you know, is looking for natural ways to overcome cancer… or any other disease. And, as always, please share this episode with a friend. Thanks! ———————- Want to learn more? Mary Casillo & Patrick Noone of Pallet Alliance talk about people, process, partnership & performance, & how their unique approach drives results for customers. IN THIS EPISODE WE DISCUSS: [03.22] An introduction to Patrick and Mary, their backgrounds, and roles at Pallet Alliance. [04.42] An overview of Pallet Alliance, and the importance of using fit for purpose pallets. [07.20] What this year's MODEX theme, 'From Every Angle,' means to Pallet Alliance and supply chain optimization. "If you look at something from every angle, you're able to optimize it to the best it can be… And you're able to fix it from every angle." "It's the opportunity to tear something apart and say: 'How do we put this back together for you?'" [09.18] Why designing custom pallet programs is like playing Tetris, or being a detective. "Every customer is different, you have to figure out what fits where… And you're factfinding along the way." [10.37] A closer look at the journey to developing a new pallet program, from sourcing and testing through to suppliers and transportation, exactly why that process is so challenging, and Pallet Alliance's approach to problem-solving. "The amount of work is monumental. We're so successful because we do all of it for them with our pallet management program… We want to make people in procurement look good." [14.38] What makes Pallet Alliance's process different from traditional sourcing approaches. [17.00] In a landscape increasingly defined by AI, why Pallet Alliance strive to find the balance between people and technology, and why AI is only as good as the data you feed it. "Part of the challenge we have now is that people understand that the data is wrong, but they don't want to invest the time to allow us to fix it for them. Or, it's that automatic RFQ, without thinking about bad data in, bad analysis out." [24.19] The kind of impact Pallet Alliance customers typically see, and how they can continue to uncover substantial savings across locations even with long-term customers. "We can save millions year over year through cost savings, more efficiency, and education in general." "We're all pallet heads!!" [26.04] What results can look like for Pallet Alliance customers, and how to measure them. "We don't have a crystal ball, but we can see where things are going. And if we can see that, we can be proactive instead of reactive, and that's something our customers really appreciate." [28.19] A selection of case studies exploring how Pallet Alliance have helped customers avoid fines, improve customer experience, meet high demand, and utilize improved materials to boost resilience and drive huge cost savings. [33.46] Where teams should start when approaching a new pallet program, and the small steps they can take towards making meaningful change. [36.00] What Mary and Patrick want listeners to take away from today's discussion. "Pallets and crates are way more complicated than you think!!" In this episode of Keeping Abreast, Dr. Jenn Simmons sits down with Dr. Betsy Greenleaf, the first board-certified female urogynecologist in the world, to dismantle the lie that estrogen causes breast cancer, expose the hormone training gap hiding inside every OB/GYN office in the country, and explain why the online HRT explosion isn't liberation; it's the setup for the next Women's Health Initiative. At 41, Dr. Greenleaf was surgically menopausal, prescribed antidepressants for symptoms her doctors blamed on hormones, and living with a lupus diagnosis she'd carried since age 18. Most of us only start thinking about fertility when something suddenly feels urgent; a doctor's appointment, a breakup, a birthday, or the quiet realisation that time may not feel as endless as we once thought. In this episode, I sit down with Margaret Wang, CEO of GenPrime and Rhea Fertility, for a deeply honest conversation about fertility, womanhood, pressure, timing, and learning to listen to our bodies before life forces us to. Together, we talk about: why fertility shouldn't just be a “women's issue” the invisible emotional load many women quietly carry egg freezing, aging, and the pressure surrounding motherhood and timelines the questions many of us don't even know to ask about our own bodies and why so many women still feel alone in this conversation Margaret also opens up personally about navigating egg freezing, heartbreak, societal expectations, and the tension between building a career, building a company, and hoping to one day build a family. Whether fertility feels far away, deeply present, or painfully emotional for you right now, this conversation is an invitation to get curious, ask earlier questions, and feel a little less alone. Michael welcomes CCEF faculty member and counselor Mike Emlet, who has served at CCEF since 2001 and previously trained and worked in family medicine before attending Westminster Seminary. Emlet and the Michael discuss how mental health concerns have grown in prominence in the church, influenced by factors like the pandemic and social media, and why a biblical approach must be holistic, recognizing humans as embodied souls affected by the fall in both body and heart. They warn against extremes of over-spiritualizing mental illness or reducing it to biology, and they challenge the church's tendency to abdicate care to outside experts while affirming the need for professional help in severe cases. Emlet commends a hopeful yet humble posture, careful listening beyond diagnostic labels, and using the “saint, sufferer, sinner” framework to move toward and care for people.00:00 Podcast Welcome01:00 Meet Mike Emlet02:55 Mental Health Landscape05:46 Embodied Souls Balance08:42 Church Role in Care10:46 Hopeful Humble Posture12:57 Saint Sufferer Sinner14:34 Why He Wrote It16:44 Meeting Suffering First19:41 Listen and Move Toward21:22 Closing ThanksEpisode MentionsCCEF Saints, Sufferers, Sinners: Loving Others as God Loves Us

What if the challenges you're facing in your business aren't coming from just one place, but from a combination of how you're thinking, how you're feeling, and what you're doing? In this episode, I'm sharing the Designed to Thrive framework, my holistic approach to growth that brings together mind, body, and strategy so you can build a business that actually works for you. As this is the final episode before my sabbatical, I wanted to leave you with a core framework you can return to while I'm away. I walk you through each part of this approach and how to use it as a lens when something feels off in your business. Instead of jumping straight to fixing the strategy, you'll learn how to look at what's happening from multiple angles so you can identify what truly needs attention. By the end of this episode, you'll have a new way to evaluate what's working, what isn't, and what to do next. This is a framework you can come back to again and again as your business evolves, helping you move forward with more intention, confidence, and trust in yourself. #322: Safeguarding in the Age of AI: Who's Responsible? In this engaging conversation, Sponsored by Hachette Learning Academy, Laura Knight discusses her extensive experience in education and her focus on integrating technology effectively within the classroom. She emphasizes the importance of a holistic approach to EdTech, addressing not only the pedagogical aspects but also the emotional and social well-being of students. The discussion delves into the challenges of safeguarding in the digital age, the significance of scenario-based learning, and the ongoing debate surrounding screen time and digital engagement. Laura advocates for a shift in educational practices to better prepare students for the complexities of the digital world, highlighting the need for self-regulation, digital literacy, and a collaborative effort between parents and educators. The conversation concludes with insights from Laura's white paper, which outlines three key pillars for fostering digital responsibility in children: capability, conscience, and courage. Key Takeaways Laura Knight emphasizes the importance of a holistic approach to EdTech. Safeguarding in the digital age is a shared responsibility among educators and parents. Screens themselves are neutral; the focus should be on the content accessed. Teaching self-regulation and digital literacy is crucial for young people. Generational differences impact how technology is perceived and used. The need for change in educational approaches is urgent and necessary. Digital ecosystems significantly influence children's learning and relationships. Peer support among parents can enhance digital literacy discussions. The three pillars of digital literacy are capability, conscience, and courage. Education must prepare children to thrive in a digital world with integrity. His simple daily movement routine for spinal health that takes just minutes and doesn't require any equipment What minimally invasive spine surgery actually looks like How AI is changing his practice right now — including letting him actually touch his patients again during visits The promise and honest limitations of peptides Why chronic pain becomes a brain disease — and what that means for treatment And so much more!! This episode is a great reminder that your brain health isn't separate from the rest of your wellness. Whether you're postmenopausal and thinking about bone health, dealing with chronic pain, or just want to move well as you age, Dr. Vokshoor brings a refreshingly human and holistic perspective to neurosurgery. In this eye-opening episode of the We Don't PLAY! Podcast, host Favour Obasi-ike, MBA, MS dismantles the myth of "cheap SEO." Joined by guests Dr. Fashion, Austin, John, and Celese, the conversation exposes the significant long-term damage that corner-cutting SEO practices can inflict on a business. Favour emphasizes that SEO is not a one-time fix but a long-term investment in your brand's digital foundation. The episode draws a powerful analogy, comparing cheap SEO to building a house with substandard materials — a structure doomed to fail. The discussion highlights the stark difference between unethical "black hat" tactics, which lead to severe penalties from search engines like Google, and the sustainable growth achieved through ethical, "white hat" strategies. Dr. Fashion shares an inspiring personal story of how her commitment to quality SEO on her YouTube channel led to incredible success, enabling her to purchase her mother's childhood home. The episode is a masterclass for any business owner, marketing professional, or entrepreneur who wants to understand the true value of a robust, strategic, and long-term SEO plan. It's a crucial reminder that in the world of digital marketing, you get what you pay for, and the cost of cheap SEO is ultimately a price too high to pay for any business serious about growth and longevity.Book SEO Services | Quick Links for Social Business>> Book SEO Services with Favour Obasi-ike>> Visit Work and PLAY Entertainment website to learn about our digital marketing services>> Join our exclusive SEO Marketing community>> Read SEO Articles>> Subscribe to the We Don't PLAY Podcast>> Purchase Flaev Beatz Beats Online>> Favour Obasi-ike Quick LinksKey Takeaways1. Cheap SEO is a Myth: Low-cost SEO services often use harmful "black hat" techniques that can get your website penalized by Google, costing you more in the long run.2. SEO is a Long-Term Investment: Sustainable SEO is not about quick fixes. It's about consistently building a strong online presence through high-quality content and ethical practices.3. Quality SEO Drives Real-World Results: As demonstrated by Dr. Fashion's story, a well-executed SEO strategy can lead to significant financial success and brand authority.4. A Holistic Approach is Essential: Effective SEO encompasses more than just keywords. It includes website design, user experience, content quality, and technical optimization.5. Inaction is Expensive: In a competitive digital landscape, not investing in SEO means being invisible to your target audience and losing ground to your competitors.6. Understand the Value You're Paying For: Be wary of SEO providers who make grand promises without clear, measurable results. A reputable expert will provide a transparent and strategic plan.7. SEO is a Way of Life: Favour makes the point that search is a fundamental human behavior. Applying this mindset to your business's digital strategy is key to success.Memorable Quotes[01:04 - 01:17] "The cost of cheap SEO is to the point where you know when you hear something has been done but it has been done poorly. It's like trying to build a house and then you use the wrong sand, you use the wrong brick, you use the wrong everything." — Favour Obasi-ike[22:40 - 22:59] "SEO works, y'all. It's a long-term game. You don't want to enjoy the shade before building or planting the seed. We have to follow the rule. We have to abide by the law. There's a procedure. There's seed, there's time, there's harvest. We can't harvest without planting a seed." — Favour Obasi-ike[67:24 - 67:41] "If you have a business, you should have a podcast...it's a 24/7, 365 marketing platform for you. It's another place where people can search and be discovered." — John[26:20 - 26:31] "When you think about SEO, it boils down to two things. You're either focusing on branded queries, which is your business name, your brand name, the name that people know you for, or you're focusing on non-branded queries." — Favour Obasi-ike[45:53 - 46:02] "If everyone did SEO correctly, we'd have a better search experience, to be honest. 100%, because SEO is not competition. It's search." — Favour Obasi-ikeFAQs1. What is the difference between "black hat" and "white hat" SEO?"Black hat" SEO refers to unethical tactics that violate search engine guidelines to try and rank a site higher, such as buying links or keyword stuffing. "White hat" SEO, on the other hand, focuses on creating high-quality content and a good user experience to earn rankings organically.2. How long does it take to see results from SEO?SEO is a long-term strategy. While some technical fixes can have a quick impact, it typically takes several months to see significant, sustainable results from a comprehensive SEO campaign.3. Why is content so important for SEO?High-quality content is the foundation of modern SEO. It's what attracts and engages your audience, establishes your authority, and gives search engines the context they need to rank your site for relevant queries.Timestamps[00:00] Introduction: The True Cost of Cheap SEO[02:32] The Long-Term vs. Short-Term View of SEO[05:49] Real-Life Success Story: LinkedIn Newsletter Growth[11:11] The Dangers of Black Hat SEO[17:25] SEO Starts with a Secure Website (HTTPS)[20:15] Dr. Fashion on YouTube SEO and Organic Discovery[23:24] John's Experience with Unqualified SEO Pitches[30:04] The Importance of Backlinks and Domain Authority[44:46] SEO as a Long-Term, Ethical Investment[48:22] SEO as a Natural Extension of Human Behavior[55:00] The Power of Podcasting for Business Growth[68:03] The Importance of Language and Mindset in Marketing[71:02] Understanding Keyword Categories for Effective SEOSee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
