Today on the Matt Walsh Show, Joe Biden has terminal cancer. They expect us to believe that he was just diagnosed right after leaving office, but it's clear that he's been sick for a while—and they covered it up. This is one of the greatest scandals in the history of American politics. Also, the Supreme Court demands that Trump stop deporting illegal aliens. The media are shocked to learn that, despite reports to the contrary, the pope is, in fact, Catholic. It's a career that's taken him from the American invasion of Iraq to the final days of apartheid South Africa — from the inner sanctum of a leading KGB defector to the cockpit of Cambridge Analytica. In this episode, Mark talks about the physical dangers and reputational risks of his trade — and the pressure it put on his family. From being ambushed by insurgents in Baghdad and battling Somali warlords, to taking on Putin's propaganda machine and the sting operation that would bring down Trump campaign agency Cambridge Analytica. Along the way, it cast him as a poster boy for data theft and dirty tricks. He reveals the chilling moment when Alexander Litvinenko warned him about the KGB's preferred method of assassination and lifts the lid on the Cambridge Analytica sting operation that made global headlines—explaining how it unfolded, what the media got wrong, and the cost to his professional and personal life. The moment he was diagnosed with terminal cancer.Having ignored a nagging pain in his shoulder for nearly 6 months, he finally went to the doctors and found that he had a tumour the size of a mango under his shoulder blade, as well as multiple metastasis in his lungs.Rather than wallow in sadness, (which nobody could have denied him) he did what he could during his treatment. Cycling on a stationary bike for a hour and walking around Bristol Harbour for an hour. He even managed to start running and somehow ran a half marathon in 80 minutes during his treatment! After treatment he upped his cardio and cycled from Bristol to Beijing on a tandem bike! (see the film 'A life in tandem")From there he realised that he had a diesel engine and turned his attention to trail and ultra. Wnning his first ultra in Wicklow Ireland and then a sky running race, all within 2 weeks! From there he has won Golden Trail races, races by UTMB and it seems there's no stopping him now!Lukes life may have been marred by tragedy, but his upbeat and positive attitude seem to exude from him and you can't help but be inspired!Good things to come for this lad from the South West!URS

Despite his prognosis, Cody radiates a remarkable resilience that defies medical expectations. After enduring eleven brutal rounds of chemotherapy, over twenty sessions of radiation, and receiving the devastating news that he had only six to twelve months to live, Cody leaned deeper into his faith. The heart of Cody's story isn't just about fighting cancer—it's about finding purpose and connection during life's darkest moments. After working as an EMT, he found himself in a dispatch position at Centra where colleagues became family, supporting him through every setback. Despite needing a colostomy, Cody continued living fully—going to the beach, working, and refusing to hide away. Send Victoria a text message! In this heartfelt episode of Grieving Voices, Chris Cochran shares the inspiring legacy of his late son Christian, who faced terminal cancer with remarkable positivity and resilience. Despite his illness, Christian lived life to its fullest up until his untimely death at the young age of 23—all while asking, "What's good about today?" Christian's spirit continues to inspire through Chris's nonprofit, What's Good About Today?, and the book that bears the same name. Today's episode highlights how Chris and his wife navigated the highs and lows of working diligently to get Christian the best possible care while supporting their other children. They then grappled with the profound loss of Christian, emphasizing patience, love, and being present as crucial elements in healing.Key takeaways include acknowledging that each person's experience of grief is unique; fostering an environment rich in understanding and compassion can aid healing amidst life's unpredictability. Chris's story also underscores a shift from material pursuits toward deeper spiritual connections post-loss—focusing on empathy over goals. Chris recounts how he's felt Christian's presence following his death and how the ongoing relationship with his son has supported his healing. 2024 is the year today's Raise the Line guest, Michelle Hughes, is supposed to die. That's according to the diagnosis she received three years ago from an oncologist who told her she had a rare, incurable form of cancer that had already caused innumerable tumors throughout her body.   As a mother of three – with her youngest child being just a few weeks old at the time of her diagnosis – this was obviously devastating news.  But fortunately, the optimism and encouragement of a second oncologist allowed for a new path forward. “It changed my entire world when that one doctor had hope,” she tells host Lindsey Smith.Fueled by the advice of her new doctor “to just live your life” Michelle embraced a healthy lifestyle that includes distance running, including a recently completed triathlon. She has also embraced the role of empowering others to face their challenges through “My Journey to Just Live” an organization she created that keeps her busy doing a blog, social media posts, speaking engagements fundraisers and other activities. Join us for a special edition of our Year of the Zebra series focused on rare diseases to learn about Michelle's challenging journey to motherhood, being a parent to three young children, and living with terminal cancer. “I remind my children and myself that cancer doesn't define me. I'm so much more than that.”For information on the November 16th online premiere of a documentary about Michelle's story, visit My Journey to Just Live

“The mystery has great meaning.”   Joy and sorrow don't have to be dissonant opposites, author Amy Low suggests. There can be harmony in the space between triumph and tragedy. In her recent memoir, *The Brave In-Between: Notes from the Last Room,* she recounts her battle with Stage IV metastatic colon cancer following the end of her marriage.   Her gracious, generous wisdom is beautifully expressed on her book's back cover: “Through the swirl of prolonged trauma and unbearable grief, a vantage point emerged—a window that showed her the way to relish life and be kinder to herself and others while living through the inevitable loss and heartbreak that crosses everyone's paths.”   In this episode, Mark Labberton welcomes Amy for a conversation about the lessons she's learned from living with cancer, including: how to come to terms with our own deaths; dealing with divorce and a traumatic end of a relationship; how to walk the path of forgiveness and humility; the immense complexity and beauty of humanity; how to explore the meaning of mystery without fear; the role of friendship and community in dealing with cancer; and the hope of imagining heaven.   About Amy Low Amy Low, author of *The Brave In-Between: Notes from the Last Room,* has been a storyteller all her life. She grew up in and continues to live life through parables and metaphors. She sees her life as an invitation to discovering the new every day and even records some of these discoveries in her Substack, Postcards from the Mountain. As the managing director for fellowships and non-profit journalism at the Emerson Collective, she directs efforts to empower individuals and newsrooms to strengthen our shared conversation in the public square. Most important, Amy is mom to Connor and Lucy. Her proudest achievement is raising a son and daughter who are unafraid, grateful, and curious, whether in class, at home, on stage, or especially in the band. Amanda McCordic is a mother, wife, lawyer, entrepreneur, terminal cancer survivor and a Holy Fire® Karuna Reiki Master. In December 2019, Amanda was diagnosed with aggressive Breast Cancer, and by April of 2020, the cancer was deemed terminal. A classic type “A” personality, Amanda made the conscious decision to live with hope and to focus on healing, rather than dying.  Through divine intervention Amanda had her very first Reiki session 12 hours after finding her first cancer tumour. Amanda's cancer journey kicked started her spiritual journey, and she leaned heavily into Reiki to help her heal all parts of her body, mind and soul. Defying her oncologist expectations or understandings, Amanda was able to totally heal her cancer metastases, and her scans have remained clean since November 2020. While pushing through her own healing, Amanda witnesses her husband, Matt, losing his battle with his mental health. In March of 2020, Matt committed suicide in their home, leading to some of the most emotional and spiritually challenging days of her life. Amanda again leaned into Reiki, making peace with his choice and the difficult path they had walked together. Amanda openly chronicled the ups and downs of her cancer journey and her loss of Matt on her Facebook page, “Amanda's Tango with Terminal Cancer.” Offering candid insight into her path and the lessons she had learnt.  Amanda credits Reiki with guiding and healing her. Amand has such gratitude for all that Reiki is and does for her, she felt called to help spread the light, hope and love of Reiki to all those who seek it, while also assisting Reiki Master's with sharing their light through entrepreneurship. It was as a result of this calling that Dragonfly Marketplace was created.  Amanda resides just outside of Fredericton, New Brunswick, with her second husband Brad, children Ethan and Amelia, dogs Larsen and Zoe, and cats Jake Puralota and CleoCatra. Di Foster is one of our low-key legends, who works as a business coach, mindshifter and speaker. We connected with Di late last year as we were transitioning from employees to accidental business owners – and were looking for a wise head to help guide us through some pretty unknown waters. We found Di, who had recently helped former guest Dave Wood transform his business into the juggernaught it is today, and she quickly became our business coach and mentor. Within an hour of meeting her – we knew we would one day tell her story on the podcast. And here she is. In this episode we talk about the lessons learned from becoming a blackbelt in Karate, what she saw in Dave Wood's business and how she helped him, some of the most interesting interactions we've had in the six months we've worked together and all the best lessons and advice acquired from 30 years working, building and coaching in the business space. Di also has an incredible cancer story. 14 years ago she was diagnosed with terminal, secondary, breast cancer. She was given a 0% chance of surviving 12 months. She turned her back on traditional treatment and healed herself. She experienced a radical remission. Her cancer journey doesn't define her, but it certainly guides her work. She has been transformative in our short journey as business owners, and we can't wait to share her story with you. You'll love this one. Joseph Houston, a 77-year-old lawyer battling terminal cancer, allegedly gunned down his former daughter-in-law, Ashley Prince, and her attorney husband, Dennis Prince, during a child custody deposition. The tragic incident unfolded on Monday morning at the offices of the Prince Law Group in Las Vegas, with Houston reportedly taking his own life afterward. Reports suggest that Houston's wife was present during the shooting, witnessing the horrific event. According to accounts, Houston had confided in a colleague about his terminal illness, hinting at his deteriorating health and potentially providing a motive for the horrific act. “Joe told me this not long before the shooting, that he was dying of terminal cancer. Makes me wonder if he felt like he had nothing to lose. I really don't know though, I can't make any sense of this all,” said Robert Eglet, a former law partner of Dennis. The deposition pertained to the custody battle between Houston's son and Ashley Prince, who were locked in a legal dispute over their two children. Houston was representing his son. Divorce filings revealed a tumultuous history between Ashley and her ex-husband, Dylan Houston, including allegations of substance abuse on Dylan's part during his custodial time with the children. Amidst the legal proceedings, Ashley Prince's lawyers had filed for sole custody of the kids, which may have escalated tensions. During the deposition, Houston's actions left witnesses traumatized. Shannon Wilson, a pregnant lawyer present at the scene, sought refuge under a conference room table as the gunfire erupted. She pleaded with Houston to spare her and her unborn child before fleeing to safety. In the aftermath of the tragedy, Ashley Prince's legal team swiftly filed an emergency motion for her sister to assume custody of the children, which was granted. Allegations surfaced suggesting Dylan Houston might have had prior knowledge of his father's intentions, although he vehemently denied any involvement in the planning of the attack. “The motivation of the tragedy of April 8, 2024, is unknown to anyone but Joseph W. Houston himself. The Defense's suggestion that this was a ‘planned attack' with the Plaintiff is insulting and quite speculative,” Dylan Houston, who is also a lawyer, wrote in a response. BPS 344: How a Predatory Film Distributor Screwed Over a Filmmaker with Terminal Cancer

Running Indie Film Hustle I hear story after story about predatory film distributors screwing over, taking advantage, and just plain stealing from filmmakers every day. I either get emails or read about them in our Facebook Group Community: Protect Yourself From Predatory Film Distributors/Aggregators.I'm so sick and tired of this. These parasites need a light shined on them. The only way we as filmmakers can stop these predators from continuing to hurt filmmakers and devastate lives is to make their actions known. Predatory film distributors continue to screw filmmakers because their actions are performed in the shadows. They bank on that filmmakers will not fight back, that they will keep quiet and just take it. Well, ladies and gentlemen that ends here.I broke the Distribber story around the same time last year. They were able to take advantage of filmmakers for a long time until someone finally brought their actions to the surface. That is the only weapon we as filmmakers have against predatory film distributors. Our Facebook group has helped thousands of filmmakers not get taken advantage of. I know that the podcasts and videos I put out have helped as well but it's not enough. I'm only one voice. We as a community need to stand up and demand change. The traditional film distribution system is BROKEN. I was just consulting with a filmmaker yesterday that told me that he too was screwed over by a film distributor. This distributor told him on the phone, once he confronted him about the theft of his film, and I quote,"I'll see you in the court of who gives a f**k."This distributor was in the UK and the filmmaker was in the US. The distributor knew that the chances of the filmmaker taking him to court in another country were slim to none. The filmmaker's lawyer advised him to let it go because the cost would be too much. THIS CRAP NEEDS TO STOP.This show is part of the Spreaker Prime Network, if you are interested in advertising on this podcast, contact us at https://www.spreaker.com/show/2881148/advertisement
