Send us a textHave you ever wondered how the law of God applies to Christians today? Join us for an enlightening exploration into Romans, chapter 7, verse 1, as we unravel the complex relationship between Christians and the divine law. This episode promises to shed light on how Apostle Paul brilliantly communicates the role of civil, ceremonial, and moral laws in the lives of believers. We break down these profound teachings into digestible insights that reveal how Paul's understanding of the law can impact modern believers. We tackle the misconception that Christians are bound to strict legal adherence to maintain salvation. Through our discussion, you'll learn that Paul emphasizes the law's dominion over a person ceases with death, offering believers freedom through grace. We carefully balance the discussion, ensuring that our understanding of grace does not lead to lawlessness, but to a more profound comprehension of the relationship between law and grace. Our conversation addresses the fallacy of law-keeping as a path to salvation, reiterating that believers are liberated from the law's constraints upon death. Finally, we delve into Paul's metaphor of marriage to illustrate the release from the law's dominion after death. Just as a widow is free to remarry, believers too are released from the law's hold, encouraging a straightforward grasp of Paul's message. By breaking down complex theological concepts into simple terms, we aim to dispel common misunderstandings and emphasize the freedom and grace available to believers. Tune in as we navigate these theological intricacies and invite a fresh understanding of how Paul's teachings can illuminate the path for Christians today.Support the show
Send us a textImagine a life where the constraints of the law no longer bind you, and freedom through faith takes its place. In our latest episode, we promise to unravel the profound theological insights found in Romans 7, where the Apostle Paul uses the metaphor of marriage to explain how believers are liberated from the old law by Christ's death. We address a common misunderstanding among Christians today—that adherence to the law is still necessary—by emphasizing that through Christ, the law's hold is severed, opening the door to a fruitful spiritual life. The discussion takes a deep dive into the transformative power of Christ as our spiritual spouse, highlighting the shift from the dominance of the old law to the new covenant of grace and faith. We explore the complete fulfillment of the law through Christ's obedience, liberating us from legalistic chains and inviting us into a new life rich with spiritual abundance. By examining Paul's teachings, we gain a clearer understanding of how Christ's sacrifice offers complete liberation, allowing us to embrace a relationship rooted in grace rather than past constraints.Join us as we explore the significant distinction between living under the law and embracing the freedom found in faith. Through a compelling conversation, we invite listeners to reflect on the concept of being "dead to the law" and the empowerment that comes from living under Christ's dominion. Salvation and justification, as we discuss, are through faith alone, not a mixture of law-keeping and belief. Celebrate with us the grace and endless life offered through Christ's sacrifice and discover a deeper understanding of the Christian faith.Support the show

A new MP3 sermon from Sovereign Grace Chapel is now available on SermonAudio with the following details: Title: Dead To The Law, Married To Christ Speaker: Paul Pendleton Broadcaster: Sovereign Grace Chapel Event: TV Broadcast Date: 11/16/2024 Bible: Romans 7 Length: 28 min.
At salvation, believers are crucified with Christ. As a result, we die to the Law, and consequently we die to sin. Once we're taken out from under the dominion of the Law, sin no longer has power over us. As the Scripture states: “apart from the Law, sin is dead” (Romans 7:8). Under God's grace, we end up living a godly life motivated by God's Spirit within us, not by moral regulations from the Old Testament (Titus 2:11-12).
Sermon on Galatians 2:19-21 where Paul teaches us that if we are in Christ by faith, we have then been united with Christ by the work of the Holy Spirit, and so we have been crucified with Christ so that we have died to the law as to its curse so that we might live unto God.
Sermon on Galatians 2:19-21 where Paul teaches us that if we are in Christ by faith, we have then been united with Christ by the work of the Holy Spirit, and so we have been crucified with Christ so that we have died to the law as to its curse so that we might live unto God.

August 05 2024 Monday Week 15 / Your Place In Him Dead To The Law Through Our Lord And Savior Jesus Christ #findoutwhoyouare My Vision My vision is to teach the world Who They Are In Jesus Christ their Lord and Savior! To Teach them what the Bible says about them and who they have been made to be in the promises of God's Word. This changed my life years ago and completely transformed me from a person full of doubt, fear and unbelief to a strong confident Christian that knows I can do anything through Jesus Christ my Lord and Savior. And I'm determined to teach the world what God has taught and commissioned me to teach and that is His Word. That commission takes me to jails and detention centers weekly along with other open doors at many churches and ministries that are wanting to teach these important truths to the world. My podcast goes out 6 days a week to help the people I am ministering to grow in the truths that God has taught me for many years now. This podcast is free to all that want to listen and grow strong in who God has made them to be in Christ Jesus their Lord and Savior. My Prayers For The World Ephesians 1:15-23 NLT 'Ever since I first heard of your strong faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for God's people everywhere, I have not stopped thanking God for you. I pray for you constantly, asking God, the glorious Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, to give you spiritual wisdom and insight so that you might grow in your knowledge of God. I pray that your hearts will be flooded with light so that you can understand the confident hope he has given to those he called—his holy people who are his rich and glorious inheritance. I also pray that you will understand the incredible greatness of God's power for us who believe him. This is the same mighty power that raised Christ from the dead and seated him in the place of honor at God's right hand in the heavenly realms. Now he is far above any ruler or authority or power or leader or anything else—not only in this world but also in the world to come. God has put all things under the authority of Christ and has made him head over all things for the benefit of the church. And the church is his body; it is made full and complete by Christ, who fills all things everywhere with himself.' Ephesians 3:14-21 NLT 'When I think of all this, I fall to my knees and pray to the Father, the Creator of everything in heaven and on earth. I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit. Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God's love and keep you strong. And may you have the power to understand, as all God's people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God. Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think. Glory to him in the church and in Christ Jesus through all generations forever and ever! Amen.' Paul begins by setting forth his credentials as an apostle with a message from God: blessing comes from God on the basis of faith, not law. The law declares men guilty and imprisons them; faith sets men free to enjoy liberty in Christ. But liberty is not license. Kyle Hatfield taught h on Romans 7:1-6. Jesus followers are free from the Old Testament law and have new life honoring Christ.
Because we have died to the jurisdiction of the old covenant Law and now live through faith-union with Christ, we must no turn back to the Law as the focus of our lives, but to Christ alone by faith.-I. Because salvation is by faith in Christ alone and not works of the Law, we cannot go back to the Law as the foundation for our lives we must go on to Christ- vv 16-18-II. Because we have died with Christ by faith, we are dead to the Rule of Old Covenant Law v 19-20a-III. The Whole of our lives is now found in union with Christ, not in adherence to OT Law- vv 20-21

There once was an entire region of churches filled with people who were somehow tricked—by jackasses—into believing that Jesus wasn't enough. Although they had experienced the only real freedom there is in this world, these people (known forever as the Galatians) were bamboozled into believing something other than the death and resurrection of Jesus was required of them to live in fellowship with God. If you've ever wondered what a Bible writer sounds like when he's pissed—this letter is it. The gloves are off, and the Apostle Paul is pulling zero punches. He is flat-out dumbfounded and beyond frustrated that they would fall for it. And just you wait until you hear what he has to say to those who threw his dear friends into such confusion. Rules have their place. They regulate our streets to promote our safety. But rules of the road can't make a good driver. You need more than rules for that. Today Dr. John explores the role of the Law for Christians. What is our relationship to the rules of the Old Testament? We'll find that the Law is not a pathway for holiness; the Spirit is. The Power of the Gospel: The gospel of Jesus has the power to save us by granting us eternal life. The gospel also has power for us to live this new life. In this 5-week series, Dr. John Neufeld explores Romans 5-8 and focuses on the powerful grace of God which enables us to live with victory, joy and peace. To those who feel defeated in their Christian walk, these truths offer hope and help.
As sinners it is impossible for us not to sin, but as a child of God born from above we are now dead to the law of sin and death and under grace.
Dr. Randy Davis, Pastor of Zion Word Church USA, brings a powerful message about if one believes in Christ and gives their life to God, they no longer have to sin. We are continuing our in-depth video study series on The Romance of Redemption: The Marriage Of Jesus Christ And The Church. This series will explore the mystery of the church as being the bride of Christ. In order to fully grasp the depth of understanding regarding the plans of Jesus Christ and His love for you individually as a believer, it is imperative that you come to a deeper awareness of the mind of God concerning His church. To understand the mind of God in relation to the church, you must recognize that Jesus views the church as His bride. In other words, the institution of marriage represents the most descriptive example of the type of relationship God wants with us. In this study, we not only explore some rarely-discussed truths regarding this concept, but we will also examine some hidden prophetic typological mysteries embedded in the ancient Jewish wedding traditions that reveal to us God's ultimate plan - separating out for Himself a beloved bride! In this 5th episode, we will cover: -The Gospel - The Plan For Becoming Dead To The Law Of Sin And Death (Section 7) Visit https://www.LetUsReason.com to download the full study notes, complete with references, charts, and quotes. https://www.letusreason.com/romance
ADULT BIBLE STUDY: Romans 7:1-13
Three pastors from Miami-Dade and their guests dedicated to delivering a message of grace to the population of South Florida
Today Pastor Mark continues our series in Romans, but we are skipping past Romans 6:15-23 because he had preached on it July 17, 2022, (You Are Slaves to Righteousness) https://sermons.covenantcrc.org/index/detail/2022-07-17-you-are-slaves-to-righteousness Consider with us today in this section of chapter 7 that those in Christ have died to the Law through the body (death) of Christ that they might belong to Christ in order bear fruit for God.
Some point to Romans 7:1-6 to teach that believers are dead to the law. In fact, some go so far as to say that the Law of Moses has no authority over us. Is that what Paul is telling us in Romans 7?
Romans 7:1-6 English Standard VersionReleased from the Law7 Or do you not know, brothers—for I am speaking to those who know the law—that the law is binding on a person only as long as he lives? 2 For a married woman is bound by law to her husband while he lives, but if her husband dies she is released from the law of marriage. 3 Accordingly, she will be called an adulteress if she lives with another man while her husband is alive. But if her husband dies, she is free from that law, and if she marries another man she is not an adulteress.4 Likewise, my brothers, you also have died to the law through the body of Christ, so that you may belong to another, to him who has been raised from the dead, in order that we may bear fruit for God. 5 For while we were living in the flesh, our sinful passions, aroused by the law, were at work in our members to bear fruit for death. 6 But now we are released from the law, having died to that which held us captive, so that we serve in the new way of the Spirit and not in the old way of the written code.English Standard Version (ESV)The Holy Bible, English Standard Version. A common question many Christians ask is “How should we act in relation to the Law?” And I am not talking about government and human law but rather the Old Testament Law. Today on IBNW we are going to answer that question as we dig into Romans 7:1-13 Where the Apostle Paul is writing to believers on this very subject. Hello and welcome to another episode. After a long break we are picking bak up our study through the book of romans and starting our journey into chapter 7. To keep everything in context, Chapter 7 really is a deep dive into what the apostle Paul was addressing in Romans chapter 6 where he talked about how believers are Dead to sin and alive to God.
