Today, we're taking a look at the unraveling mayhem situation in California, where Governor Gavin Newsom's failure to lead has allowed chaos to run absolutely wild. Violent riots involving illegal immigrants (most of whom are military-aged men) are breaking out across the state. These individuals are not assimilating, they are disrupting, demanding, and waving foreign flags while burning ours on American soil. As California spirals, it's no surprise that federal intervention has become necessary. President Trump has stepped in where state "leadership" would not. This really isn't about politics, it's about preserving order, protecting citizens, and upholding the rule of law. We are a people who serve a God of justice, not disorder. What's happening is not compassionate, it's destabilizing. California deserves better, and America must wake up before this becomes the norm nationwide. God forbid. Let's talk about what's really going on in California and why prayer, truth, and resolve are crucial right now.--https://www.thebrandsunday.com/products/the-bible-study-physical?srsltid=AfmBOoqJuDPZk6H7VWSxgepSo3RWAJCtIGO9wrHmULH1iMgxSzkJ791_--Order CULTure: https://www.paypal.com/ncp/payment/SLYWFXAB6479S

If you've ever skimmed a genealogy, this deep dive will change how you read the Bible forever.

You sell them to be slaves of Satan! Charles Spurgeon: Parents! Your children need to be saved! Their salvation should be a subject of your incessant prayer. You must make earnest endeavors that your children would be converted to God. There must be pleading with, and praying for, the conversion of your children unto the Lord Jesus Christ.Parents! What have you done for the conversion of your children? Father, do you ever put your arms around your boy's neck and pray for him, and with him? Mother, do you ever talk to your little children about Christ and Him crucified? Under God's blessing, you may be a spiritual as well as a natural mother to that beloved child of yours! Richard Baxter:Parents! Your children have an everlasting inheritance of happiness to attain--and it is that which you must bring them up for. They have an endless misery to escape--and it is that which you must diligently teach them. If you don't teach them to know God, and how to serve Him, and be saved, and to escape the flames of Hell--you teach them nothing, or worse than nothing.Parents! It is in your hands to do your children the greatest kindness--or cruelty, in all the world! Help them to know God and to be saved--and you do more for them than if you helped them to be kings or princes. If you neglect their souls, and breed them in ignorance, worldliness, ungodliness, and sin--then you betray them to the devil, the enemy of souls, even as truly as if you sold them to him. You sell them to be slaves of Satan! You betray them to him who will deceive them and abuse them in this life, and torment them in eternity!

Are you aware that you are in a war? In today's culture, there is an assault against men and their role as fathers. In the message "Fatherhood," Duane Sheriff draws unique parallels between a blacksmith and a father who prepares his home for spiritual warfare. In 1 Samuel 13:19-22, the Philistines removed Israelite blacksmiths before the battle. Israel needed their blacksmiths to make swords and other weapons to fight in the war. Likewise, fathers are the blacksmiths in their homes. Men forge, shape, and temper their children to prepare them for life's battles, protecting them from the world's negative influences. Fathers equip children with the moral clarity, character, and strong work ethic necessary for success. This world seeks to remove or feminize the blacksmith, thereby weakening our families. Fathers must reclaim their role, not suppress their masculinity. Under God's guidance, fathers have a crucial role in ensuring their children are ready to face challenges and not become susceptible to the deceptions and hardships of the world. Fathers, be the spiritual leaders and warriors God created you to be. Embrace your divine purpose, knowing your influence shapes the next generation.

In this final message of the "Under God?" series, Pastor Will explores how Christians can stay united in a divided world. Reflecting on Jesus' prayer for unity, he reminds us that true faith isn't about political alignment but love. Pastor Will challenges believers to reject division, focus on common values, and build bridges by loving unconditionally. In a time of polarization, the church must come together as one body, sharing Christ's hope in a fractured world.
In this sermon of the "Under God?" series, Pastor Will explores how Christians can live faithfully under God in a culture often at odds with biblical values. Drawing from Daniel's story, he challenges listeners to reflect on whether they're more influenced by culture or by God. Through practical examples about money, time, relationships, and opinions, Pastor Will encourages pre-deciding to follow Jesus as Lord. With the upcoming election, he reminds us to stay grounded in God's sovereignty—because no matter who is in office, God is still on the throne.
Under God? - Pr. Ross Wiseman by Ross Wiseman
Our faith may be personal, but it cannot be private. Today, Pastor Stephen sits down with Pastor Rob McCoy to discuss the importance of voting as a Christian and why it is a vital part of living out our faith. Pastor Rob outlines ten compelling reasons why every believer should vote and how Christians are called to engage in politics and society, using their influence to uphold biblical values in a broken world.
Pastor Will's sermon “Under God? One Nation” addresses the division during election season, reminding believers that their primary allegiance is to God's kingdom. He emphasizes that Christians are ambassadors of Christ, called to represent His love beyond political differences. Regardless of election outcomes, God remains sovereign, and believers are united as a heavenly nation, tasked with embodying grace, justice, and peace.
At salvation, believers are crucified with Christ. As a result, we die to the Law, and consequently we die to sin. Once we're taken out from under the dominion of the Law, sin no longer has power over us. As the Scripture states: “apart from the Law, sin is dead” (Romans 7:8). Under God's grace, we end up living a godly life motivated by God's Spirit within us, not by moral regulations from the Old Testament (Titus 2:11-12).
In Week 5 of Under God, we will take a look at the importance of the family. How the problems in our world today have stemmed from problems in the home first. Join us as we learn how we can put God back into the center of our families, and our country.
Love Mercy Pastor Bryan continues our series Under God.

In the latest teaching of our One Na'on Under God series, Eric DiCicco examined 1 Samuel2:12-36 in his message, “As the Family Goes, So Goes the Nation.” He highlighted theprofound influence that family life has on society, underlining that the attack on family valuesis a deliberate strategy of the enemy. He gave us three practical things to fight back!1. Faith must be demonstrated, not just discussed.2. Correction without consequence rarely leads to change.3. The Lord honors those who honor Him. Under God's direction and in God's timing, the legacy of faith was passed down from Elijah to Elisha.
Under God, the faithful king pursues justice with mercy for his people.
From earliest times, God commanded His people to see their national home through His holy eyes. In other words, countries around the world are to follow the Lord. Of course, many don't. Jeremiah 30:22 says, “So you will be my people, and I will be your God.” Many great civilizations have risen, but few last beyond a couple hundred years. Although history is debated, the foundations of America see a people who wanted to live holy unto the Lord. Modern America is still an ongoing experiment, but our Pledge of Allegiance, adopted in 1942, used the phrase “Under God.” Lincoln used it for the first time during his Gettysburg Address, when he told the people that from that point on, we would be one people—united under the Living God. This is something to celebrate, and we should! Our nation is always stretching to do better, and fulfill an ideal that is more than just some slogan. It's our calling to be this way…under God. Let's pray. Lord, thank you that Christ is proclaimed in freedom in our nation! Help us continue this sacred calling. In Jesus' name, amen. Change your shirt, and you can change the world! Today, we're continuing to look at our life “Under God.” We'll specifically consider our family lives under his care and rule. Children, God has something to teach you about living under your parents whom God has given to you. Parents, God has something to teach you about your care for the children he has given you. To all of us, God has something to teach us about the spiritual practices we carry out.
We continue week 2 of our series Under God?
We're starting a new series today. Quite simply, it will be a series that looks at the kingdom of God. It will be a look at the kingdom of God and all the other kingdoms of this world. In short, it will be a look at the Second Petition. In this petition, we pray that God's kingdom will come. It will also look at the Fourth Commandment. In this commandment, God calls us to honor our father and mother, i.e., to honor, obey, and respect all those who are in authority over us. He teaches us how to live in other kingdoms. Under God is a series that calls us to live under God in his kingdom and under those He has placed over us. That's what we'll be looking at and considering over the next couple of weeks. Today, we want to consider the kingdom of God. To do that, we'll learn to sing Psalm 72, at least in our hearts, as we cry out, “Long live the King!”

Brian Kaylor and Beau Underwood join the pod to discuss their new book, Baptizing America - How Mainline Protestants Helped Build Christian Nationalism. From the publisher:In the face of a rising threat to both church and democracy, Baptizing America provides an urgent examination and an enlightening critique exposing the dangerous undercurrents of Christian Nationalism. How can Mainline Protestants spot such practices in their own activities? A crucial call to reckon with influences before it's too late. Christian Nationalism presents an existential threat to both Christ's church and American democracy. Now is the time — before it is too late — to reckon with all the places its pernicious influence arises. On full display in recent elections, Christian Nationalism also exists in sanctuaries where an American flag has been displayed for decades, when we pledge allegiance to one nation “Under God,” or when the U.S. is called a Christian nation. Baptizing America critiques the concept of civil religion, arguing that such expressions are far more dangerous than we realize. Mainline Protestant congregations will likely recognize themselves in the overlooked expressions of Christian Nationalism that pop up in the activities of both church and state.Coauthor of Unsettling Lent: A Devotional, Word&Way Editor & President since 2016, Brian Kaylor is an award-winning writer and sought-after expert on issues of religion, politics, and communication. When Christian teen David Gutierrez arrives at his new high school, he is immediately mortified by being the only kid who says “Under God” during the pledge. He is ruthlessly mocked by the school bully and called into the headmaster's (Casper Van Dien) office to be reprimanded for breaking the school's “religious tolerance” rules, which of course mean that all religions are tolerated except for Christianity. David's debate club advisor (Kevin Sorbo) encourages him to take a stand for his beliefs; this leads David to cause a “viral moment” by asking a visiting presidential candidate (Antonio Sabata Jr.) to put God back into politics, the video of which is then spread online like wildfire. ONE NATION UNDER GOD is a relatively high-budget film for the Christian genre, directed by Lisa Arnold (This Is Our Time), which delightfully hits all the most cliche beats of the faith-based films we know in love — atheist teachers, precocious Christian kids, a preoccupation with “going viral”, and a climactic showdown debate where the Christian kid owns his opponent with logic and reason. It also stars a pantheon of Christian film royalty, with one of Sorbo's best film performances ever, even though he's playing basically he same character he plays in all of his films. ONE NATION UNDER GOD is the perfect Christian film to put on with your friends because it's not too depressing, has several laugh out loud moments, and might even give you a few talking points for your next debate. As American school children, we learned it by heart, and recited it every day."I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America..."But how often did we then, and do we now, think about the meaning behind the words? "...one nation. Under God. Indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."IndivisibleWhat does it mean to be indivisible? It's a question Denise Hamilton explores with intelligence, empathy and disarming approachability in her groundbreaking debut as an author."Indivisible: How to Forge Our Differences into a Stronger Future" grabs you by the throat on page one of the Prologue, and doesn't let you go.Through deft storytelling, research and personal reflection, Hamilton challenges us to re-think what it means to build diversity and inclusion in a polarized world where the words and the concepts are increasingly demonized. It's Not About a ChecklistHamilton is a nationally recognized workplace culture and DEI expert, and CEO of WatchHerWork, a digital learning platform for professional women. She has helped hundreds of companies recognize that meeting their DEI goals, if they still have them, is not about a checklist. It's about helping organizations figure out what their guiding principles are -- and whether they choose to act on them. It's about maximizing the gifts of everyone involved so that they and the organization can thrive.Beyond the WorkplaceWhat's so powerful about Hamilton's approach is that it applies far beyond the workplace into every aspect of our relationships, both professional and personal. The book is chock full of examples that allow you to see yourself in a given scenario, and then challenges you to re-examine your beliefs. It reveals the power within each of us to enact positive change, and gives us the tools to do so.Denise is a return guest who first shared her thoughtful perspective with the OVM community shortly after we launched. We couldn't be more proud to have Denise back to share her powerful new book. It's exactly what we need to help unify our fractured world.Support the show
Join us for this sermon on 1 Peter 5:6-11, where we delve into a scene painted by Peter that feels as intense as watching a predator stalk its prey on Animal Planet. Picture a lion, the prowling, roaring devil, targeting a pack of gazelles – an image not just from nature but a metaphor for the challenges faced by early Christians in Asia Minor. In a time of persecution and suffering, Peter commands these believers to "humble yourselves." It seems counterintuitive, as sufferers are often seen as victims, needing gentle treatment. However, Peter challenges them to confront their natural inclination to turn inward during hardship. This inward focus can lead to either pride in one's strength or attempting self-sufficiency in facing challenges. The imperative to "humble yourselves" is followed by a profound gospel message. "Under God's mighty hand" is not a threat of judgment but a reminder of deliverance. God's mighty hand has saved believers from sin, death, and the devil through Jesus. Peter encourages them to stop trying to face challenges alone and submit to God's power and peace. The sermon then addresses the question of anxiety, emphasizing that it is not a lack of faith. Instead, believers are invited to cast their anxieties on God, who cares for them. The danger of the devil and the importance of prayer are highlighted, echoing Luther's insight about the unseen spiritual arrows aimed at believers. The sermon concludes with a powerful testimony of Christy, a woman who faced immense suffering but found comfort in the promise of verse 10: "And the God of all grace… will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast." As with Christy, believers are reminded of the enduring promises of God, calling them to humble themselves under His delivering hand. Join us for this insightful journey through 1 Peter 5:6-11, exploring the challenges of suffering, the call to humility, and the enduring grace of God.
“You are like Moses, leading us out from slavery!” Jamila exclaimed. As a bonded brick-kiln worker in Pakistan, she and her family (and her parents before her) suffered because of the exorbitant amount they owed the kiln owner. Barely able to survive, they used much of their earnings just to pay off the interest. But when they received a gift from a nonprofit agency that released them from their debt, they felt tremendous relief. In thanking the agency’s representative for their freedom, Jamila, a Christian, pointed to the example of God’s release of Moses and the Israelites from slavery. The Israelites had been oppressed by the Egyptians for hundreds of years, laboring under harsh conditions. They cried out to God, asking for help (Exodus 2:23). But their workload increased, for the new pharaoh ordered them not only to make bricks but also to gather the straw for these bricks (Exodus 5:6–8). When the Israelites again cried out against the oppression, God again promised to be their God (6:7). No longer would they be slaves, for He would redeem them with “an outstretched arm” (v. 6). Under God’s direction, Moses led the Israelites out of Egypt (see Exodus 14). Today God still delivers us, for through the outstretched arms of His Son Jesus on the cross, we are set free from a far greater enslavement to the sin that once controlled us. We’re no longer slaves, but free!
