Welcome to your weekly dose of The Psychedelic Psychologist. This week we hear from Anton who recently found psychedelics. His intention is for deep personal healing around his depression. He shares with us how coming to this work new feels, and having had two experiences what it's like going into it with a little more understanding the second time around. Just coming off the most recent experience Anton provides an important reminder of the process being a long one; moreover, he is quick to say how valuable it was to have the first one under his belt in order to be a little more prepared with what was to come. We are given a beautiful picture into his new frame of reference with his relationship with his children and his wife. Finding some of the key reminders of how to be a father and partner in how he remembers growing up and the relationship he had with his own father. He tells the tale of learning directly from his younger self.Anton invites us into a wonderful lesson of how working with psychedelics can give us a new lens into partnering and parenting. Sherri's playhouse reprises The Dowry! It was originally for an under 10 minute play writing contest. But it was so personal and special I decided to do it on Sherri’s Playhouse. It is a very short re-imagining of the founding of my family in the US. It came from chats with my Grandparents, notes my Mom had in her journals about stories she heard from her parents and grandparents. Also stories directly from my Mom and my Grandparents on quiet Sunday afternoons at their place as we ate lunch or dinner. It was a very personal project and so I am very interested in chatting with my cast about bringing it to life. We chat both plays and their parts in it. But it was so personal and special I decided to do it on Sherri’s Playhouse. This next part takes place after the family has moved to NYC after they started to assimulate. And how my Grandma started working for some biggest stars in the theater!
Sherri's Playhouse reprises Mishpucha! Sherri’s Playhouse presents a very short tiny play called Mishpucha! It was originally for an under 10 minute play writing contest. But it was so personal and special I decided to do it on Sherri’s Playhouse. It is a very short re-imagining of the founding of my family in the US. We also have an interview with the cast to chat about the characters and the time period.
The family is a system which has components and principles that govern it. The marital partnership is the chief component. If their relationship is healthy and functional the children will have the opportunity to grow. #mindyours #familyorigin #dysfunctions

“Nobody comes to trauma, but through trauma.” – Karin Dremel The true nature of addiction comes not from what we see at present but what we did not see in the past. And this is Science in what we call trauma. Our guest, Karin Dremel will expound the subject and enlighten us on the things we might not be aware of that has a direct bearing on family issues and addiction. She is a German psychotherapist, Naturopath and a Humanist Chaplain. Currently, her practice is situated in Boulder, Colorado where she helps individuals and couples through systems constellation groups. Often, we see addiction through a limited perspective such that a present problem has something to do with how an individual copes that may potentially lead to addiction. But seldom do we consider what family origin has to do with how that individual arrived at choosing that particular type a coping mechanism. Join in today’s episode as our guest talks about the effects of generational trauma and silence, constellation healing, life-giving and life-limiting factors, belongingness and systemic trauma technology. There are some really well-intentioned Christian parenting ideas that end up causing our children to feel shame, not love. Maybe most important to talk about, how do we love and respect our children who haven't trusted Christ?Support the show (https://trueface.givingfuel.com/buildtrust)
From the very start, we have not wanted to need God. From the very start we want to be self-sufficient. No wonder our kids act like that is true of them as well. But like King David and Jesus both said, blessed are those who know their need for the Lord. And blessed are those who know they need God in their needs; they will interact with their children in empathy.Support the show (https://trueface.givingfuel.com/buildtrust)
Unless I have experienced God's love or goodness in an area, I cannot lead my children into it. But the beauty is, you don't need to experience much to take a small step in hope with your children.Support the show (https://trueface.givingfuel.com/buildtrust)
In this episode we explore the relationship between Sarah and Madison from The Cure and Parents. What happens when you start to let your children in on your life?Support the show (https://trueface.givingfuel.com/buildtrust)
When your kids trust your love, you get to teach them, give them guidance, and love them. When your love isn't trusted, none of these things get to happen, no matter how much you have to give. We talk about building that trust no matter where you are on the journey.Support the show (https://trueface.givingfuel.com/buildtrust)
