While on a break for a couple of weeks, things pop into my head. Usually it's things I don't get. Not heavy duty stuff like the theoretical understanding of quantum mechanics... no... stuff like the French Tuck. So we'll start ff 2022 with things that don't make sense to me, stuff I don't get. You may... but I don't. And it's all in twenty minutes. Thanks for listening and if you have any comments, please feel free to email me at doug@20minutespodcast.com. Simone Biles returns and wins bronze, Matt Damon walks back his use of the F-slur, and Reese Witherspoon sells Hello Sunshine for a whopping $900 million. Then, we talk to brand-new dad Tan France about fatherhood, his skin care regimen and the number one thing he gets DM'd about (it's not what you think). Another week, another friend-of-the-pod to help us through it! Hannah joins TTBP this episode to talk about Katie's final group of men, how often they cry, and who we think is making it until the end. Spoiler: it's probs Blake, but that doesn't stop us from loving the rest of them! RIP Andrew, we will never forget you. Luckily we'll probably see all of them in Paradise - except you, Michael A. We need you to stay perfect and that means not going to Mexico for 3 weeks with David Spade. It has also been recently announced that MORE bachelor nation peeps have written books with freakishly long titles. We're happy for you, Tyler Cameron. Anyone interested in starting a Bachelor Book Club?
Cultural icon, friend to Robert Mapplrthorpe and progenitor of the French Tuck, Patti Smith, went and made the first ever punk rock record with her debut album. During a two month residency at CBGB w/ Television, Smith and her band got solid traction in the New York scene, eventually catching the ear of an industry exec who signed them to Arista Records. Once signed, the band headed into the studio, got John Cale on board to produce, and in a month's time, made music history in the early Fall of 1975. It's a seminal work, a must listen, and one of the most important albums ever pressed to wax... ...some of us are here for it. Let's talk Patti Smith, Horses!
In this episode, we delve deep into our aesthetics and personal styles. We journey into tangents about our love for Tan France, the color black, why Mediterranean cottagecore should be a thing, and a story about one very fancy birthday party. Do we also roast our middle school drip in the process? You bet we do. | Stream Arm Bridge through other platforms: linktr.ee/armbridgepodcast | Follow us on Instagram @armbridgepodcast
Highlights from the episode include:Both of us are feeling glum about the state of things; no pools, no playdates, no fun. Hard to spin that to something positive. These are trying times, to say the least.FEATURED INTERVIEW: Julie Allen is the Owner and Founder of Mary Rose NW Boutique, a body-positive shop located in Oregon City, as well as the Mary Rose Foundation, a non-profit committed to helping make treatment accessible to those who need it.Donate directly to the organization hereCheck out their currently-still-happening summer camps onlineKate Middleton should never have had to take a photo of herself with her 1-day-old babies for all to see. We would all have murder eyes if someone had asked us to do so.Queer Eye is such a fantastic show, especially uplifting brain candy in the middle of a pandemic, though Tan’s obsession with the French Tuck has mixed reviews.Katie dreams of an NSYNC revival tour where she will wear flare pants and the above-mentioned French Tuck.Katie has to explain yet another cultural reference to her clueless co-host.Here’s an example of the awesome Schitt’s Creek mug.
This week's #SGStyleTip is probably our easiest tip ever. Thanks @tanfrance for helping us all quickly level up our outfits. This one's a really simple tip: tuck in just the front of your shirt while letting the sides and back hang loose. This works especially well with bulky or boxy tops! JJ and Michelle dig into "Pet Sematary" in the latest Movie Dishes review. Is it worth the big screen or wait to stream on the small screen? Plus, find out why "The French Tuck" is a thing.
The Nightbirds are making good time and head off to visit the Elder Boris! What they run into is a rift between him and the youngest Elder, Faron, that they might not be prepared to heal. Listen as Skumk makes the best guacamole, Jelly demonstrates the perfect French Tuck, and Coen does some interior decorating. Big thanks to Helen Herbst La Star from the chick flick review podcast, Falling In Love Montage and Bobbie who hosts That Gay Shit with our own Hayden!
Ein T-Shirt-Trend hat einen Namen: French Tuck. Wie eine Netflix-Serie in die Modewelt eingreift.
