Not too long ago, NVIDIA was a niche tech company known for the graphics cards that powered computer gaming. Thanks to skyrocketing growth over the past few years, today, it's a $4 trillion behemoth that designs cutting-edge chips necessary for frontier AI development. It's an American company based in Santa Clara, CA. But, like so many other companies, it relies on foreign firms to manufacture its designs—primarily Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company.Intel is the only major American company that manufactures its own advanced semiconductors, or chips, but the once iconic firm is on an opposite trajectory. In the 1990s and early 2000s, Intel's microprocessors powered over 90% of PCs and the company was one of the world's most valuable. But intel missed the boat on two major tech developments—smartphones and AI—leaving the company a shell of its former glory.NVIDIA soared while Intel declined, but the two share in common a rollercoaster relationship with Washington and the Trump Administration over their ties to China.  After moving to ban NVIDIA from exporting its H20 chip to China, President Trump reversed the ban in exchange for NVIDIA giving a 15% cut of the sales to the US government. Last month, Intel CEO Lip-Bu Tan came under fire for his ties to and investments in Chinese companies, leading Trump to call for his immediate resignation. A few weeks later, Trump announced that the US government would take a 10% stake in Intel for about $10 billion in outstanding CHIPS Act grants, and Trump praised Tan for his affirmed commitments to US interests.The two companies are at the heart of the most significant tech policy debates in the world—from industrial policy to how to balance a desire to export American technology with the need to safeguard trade secrets and AI advantages. Evan is joined by Oren Cass, founder and chief economist of American Compass. Oren has been a staunch supporter of the CHIPS Act and industrial policies that he believes are necessary to restore high-tech American manufacturing, particularly in semiconductors. Nuestro invitado de hoy es el Padre Luis Antonio Zazano, un sacerdote diocesano católico argentino muy conocido por su trabajo de evangelización en las redes sociales y en el mundo digital. Esto no es algo que el Padre Luis pensó o planeó de antemano y hoy nos cuenta su camino, el que fue acompañado de muchas alegrías y también cargado de importantes dificultades. Hablamos de vocación y de carisma, de cómo la Iglesia se ve inmersa en una nueva etapa de evangelización a partir de los avances de la tecnología y nos preguntamos si todos estamos llamados a evangelizar en las redes o no. Tuvimos la dicha de estar con el Padre Luis el mes pasado en Roma, compartiendo el primer jubileo de misioneros digitales e influencers católicos y charlamos acerca de algunas reflexiones que han surgido a partir de este evento increíble.El Padre Luis es originario de San Miguel de Tucumán,en el norte de Argentina. Es graduado en Teología de la Universidad Católica Argentina y en Orientación Familiar por la Universidad Austral. Es cofundador y director de Misioneros Digitales Católicos y ha publicado algunos libros: Un año con Jesús, Devocionario de San José, Mama Antula, Un año con María. Pero no dedicaron mucho tiempo a esta obra. Si se hubieran consagrado a buscar un entendimiento más claro de los requerimientos de Dios, y hubieran humillado sus corazones ante él, habrían sido escudados contra la tentación. Pero no obraron así y pronto se volvieron descuidados, desatentos y licenciosos. Esto ocurrió especialmente entre la "multitud mixta" (V.M.) Sentían impaciencia por seguir hacia la tierra prometida, que fluía leche y miel. Les había sido prometida a condición de que obedecieran; pero habían perdido de vista ese requisito. Algunos sugirieron el regreso a Egipto; pero ya fuera para seguir hacia Canaán o para volver a Egipto, la masa del pueblo resolvió no esperar más a Moisés. Sintiéndose desamparados debido a la ausencia de su jefe, volvieron a sus antiguas supersticiones. La "multitud mixta" fue la primera en entregarse a la murmuración y la impaciencia, y de su seno salieron los cabecillas de la apostasía que siguió. Entre los objetos considerados por los egipcios corno símbolos de la divinidad estaba el buey, o becerro; y por indicación de los que habían practicado esta forma de idolatría en Egipto, hicieron un becerro y lo adoraron. El pueblo deseaba alguna imagen que representara a Dios, y que ocupara ante ellos el lugar de Moisés. Dios no había revelado ninguna semejanza de sí mismo, y había prohibido toda representación material que se propusiera hacerlo. Los extraordinarios milagros hechos en Egipto y en el mar Rojo tenían por fin establecer la fe en Jehová como el invisible y todopoderoso Ayudador de Israel, como el único Dios verdadero. Y el deseo de alguna manifestación visible de su presencia había sido atendido con la columna de nube y fuego que había guiado al pueblo, y con la revelación de su gloria sobre el monte Sinaí. Pero estando la nube de la presencia divina todavía ante ellos, volvieron sus corazones hacia la idolatría de Egipto, y representaron la gloria del Dios invisible por "la imagen de un buey" (Historia de los patriarcas y profetas, pp. 325, 326). Tan solo unos días antes, la presencia del Señor se había manifestado con tal poder que estaban terriblemente asustados y pedían que Moisés escuchara las palabras de Dios y luego les hablara de lo mismo. Pero ahora querían algo visible en lo que pudieran confiar. Podrían haber aprovechado ese momento para aprender lecciones preciosas que el Señor estaba dispuesto a darles si hubieran confiado plenamente en él. Pero el resultado de sus murmuraciones e incredulidad fue que Aarón les hizo un becerro de oro para representar a Dios. Proclamó que este ídolo era Dios, y se creó un gran entusiasmo por este falso dios. Si en vez de hacer esto, les hubiera recordado la maravillosa liberación que Dios había obrado en su favor, y todas las mentes se hubieran sentido impulsadas a expresar gratitud a Dios por todas sus ricas misericordias al liberar a su pueblo de la esclavitud egipcia, se habrían colocado en terreno ventajoso para glorificar al Señor Dios que había obrado tan maravillosa liberación de la degradación y la esclavitud (The Review and Herald, 6 de septiembre, 1906, párr 12, 13).

Con mirada amorosa la seguía mientras ella saltaba en la llanura. Al sentarse junto al rebaño que cuidaba que dócilmente su voz obedecía, pensaba con tristeza en su ovejita, la que una y otra vez se le perdía. Es cierto que la ovejita cariñosa adoraba a su pastor sin una queja, pero a veces se apartaba del camino como a menudo hacen las ovejas. A su amada ovejita extraviada llamábala el pastor con tierna voz: “Vuelve, pequeñita, porque no estás segura a menos que estés donde estoy yo.” Pero pronto la ovejita se olvidaba y se le descarriaba irreflexiva, y sin darse cuenta de sus actos, del lado del pastor pronto se iba. Hasta que un día, con bondad y tino, tomó el pastor su vara con firmeza, y lo que Él hizo entonces parecía algo cruel a los ojos de la oveja. Tan fuerte fue el golpe de la vara que le quebró una pata a la ovejita, y la dejó cojeando por el prado donde antes saltaba espigadita. Después, día tras día, hasta que fue sanada, se mantuvo alejada del rebaño, llevada en los brazos del pastor y acunada y protegida como antaño.
