En la segunda mitad del siglo XVI las provincias septentrionales de los Países Bajos controlados por los Habsburgo se rebelaron contra el monarca, que en aquel momento era Felipe II de España. Esta rebelión, cuya motivación fue religiosa, tuvo importantes consecuencias en la historia de Europa ya que, tras varias décadas de guerra, estas provincias consolidaron su independencia creando un Estado de nuevo cuño: la república de las Siete Provincias Unidas. Se trataba de una entidad política con un sistema de gobierno muy particular, una confederación que combinaba un Gobierno republicano encarnado en los Estados Generales, y una suerte de monarca elegible, el estatúder, que se encargaba de los asuntos militares. Tan pronto como consiguió la independencia, la recién nacida república comenzó a enriquecerse y expandirse por el mundo. La base de su prosperidad fue la apertura y el pragmatismo. Los Países Bajos se convirtieron en un gigantesco emporio comercial gracias a su estratégica ubicación geográfica y a una serie de innovaciones financieras como el Banco y la Bolsa de Ámsterdam, pioneras del capitalismo. Las Compañías de las Indias Orientales y Occidentales, corporaciones con tanto poder comercial como militar, permitieron a la República romper los monopolios de España y Portugal en el Atlántico y el Índico y forjar un gran imperio colonial. La sociedad neerlandesa, entretanto, asistió al ascenso de una burguesía urbana que adoptó valores calvinistas como el trabajo, el ahorro y la austeridad que se reflejaban en su cultura y estilo de vida. A lo largo del siglo XVIII, fueron perdiendo su preeminencia ultramarina ante el auge de potencias como Gran Bretaña. Las guerras en el continente, entretanto, eran continuas y muy costosas. Debes enviar un barco antes de que un barco te regrese. Piensa en ese principio la próxima vez que estés tentando a quejarte por las cosas que la vida te depara. Recuerda que todo lo que has sembrado en tu camino, será lo mismo que encontrarás más adelante. Si has sembrado duda, incredulidad y temor, eso mismo cosecharás. Le hice una pregunta: En esos viajes, ¿Cuántos kilómetros recorres al año? Y me contestó que menos de 10.000 km… y nació la idea de este video.Le dije: Cómprate dos coches. Uno eléctrico para ciudad y un V8, como estos que os traigo, para los viajes. Y le pareció bueno idea… salvo por el consumo.Y le hice las cuentas que os voy a hacer. Un moderno hibrido enchufable incluso en carretera gasta muy poco, pongamos 7 l/100 km. Y un V8 de los que propongo gasta mucho, pongamos que 11 l/100 km. Es decir, 4 litros de diferencia, en euros unos 7 euros más cada 100 km. 10.000 km son 100 veces 100 km, es decir que, si multiplicamos eso 7 euros de más por 100, resulta que al año el V8 le supone un sobrecoste de 700 €, lo que es lo mismo 58 € al mes, 140 € por viaje.Ya puso otra cara, pero en las cuantas faltan datos. Primero, ¿Cuánto te ahorras con el eléctrico? Y segundo, un eléctrico y uno de estos coches le contaban claramente menos que su nuevo hibrido enchufable… Sí, ya sé que estos son números gordos, hay que tener en cuenta averías, ITV, etc.. pero no es ninguna locura. Además, desde el punto de vista económico, un coche nuevo es una ruina y alguno de estos, que es muchos casos aún son viejos y no clásicos y se van a revalorizar, una buena inversión. Within the world of purebred coonhounds there exists seven recognized breeds, each with a national association that affiliates with the major coonhound registry, United Kennel Club.  These associations exist not only to steer the future of the individual breeds within the registry, but also as a fraternity, or sorority as the case may be, of individuals devoted to the breed.  None is more tightknit than the American Black and Tan Coonhound Association, Our guest in this episode, Matt Wachter of Gardendale, Ala., is a young man that chose the Black and Tan Breed early on in his coon hunting career and has benefited greatly from the mentors he has gained through his choice of breeds.   One such mentor and personal friend is the late Doug Moore of Mt. (Día de la Proclama de Independencia del Perú) Tan pronto como ocupó Lima, el General en Jefe del Ejército Libertador del Perú, don José de San Martín, reunió a Cabildo Abierto. Los notables de la ciudad allí presentes suscribieron el Acta de la Independencia del Perú que, en resumen, decía: «En la Ciudad de los Reyes, el quince de julio de mil ochocientos veintiuno... Todos los señores concurrentes, por sí y satisfechos de la opinión de los habitantes de la capital, dijeron: Que la voluntad general está decidida por la independencia del Perú de la dominación española y de cualquiera otra extranjera....» Trece días después, el 28 de julio de 1821, convocado el pueblo peruano [aquí] en la Plaza Mayor de Lima, que desde aquel entonces se conoce también como la Plaza de Armas, don José de San Martín pronunció las siguientes palabras con las que proclamó la independencia del Perú: «El Perú es, desde este momento, libre e independiente por la voluntad general de los pueblos y por la justicia de su causa, que Dios defiende. ¡Viva la patria! ¡Viva la libertad! ¡Viva la independencia!» El 6 de agosto, un patriota argentino que llegó al grado de brigadier, amigo y paisano de San Martín, reseñó los acontecimientos de ese histórico día. En una carta a su esposa Pilar Spano, don Tomás Guido escribió: «El 28 del mes anterior se juró en esta capital la Independencia del Perú. No he visto en América un concurso ni más lucido ni más numeroso. Las aclamaciones eran un eco continuado de todo el pueblo.... Yo fui uno de los que pasearon ese día el estandarte del Perú independiente.... Jamás podría premio alguno ser más lisonjero para mí, que ver enarbolado el estandarte de la libertad en el centro de la ciudad más importante de esta parte de América, cumpliendo el objeto de nuestros trabajos en la campaña....» Según el historiador peruano Jorge Basadre, el objetivo de la campaña por la independencia al que se refiere Guido se resume en las palabras simbólicas de San Martín, palabras que marcan un hito histórico, pues anuncian el principio de «la voluntad de los pueblos».1 San Martín, el libertador que luchó por nuestra libertad física temporal, tenía toda la razón: los pueblos, en general, quieren ser libres. Y Dios defiende la justicia de esa causa porque nos creó con libre albedrío. Pero eso quiere decir que podemos optar por rechazar la independencia del dominio del pecado que ganó para nosotros su Hijo Jesucristo, el Libertador que luchó por nuestra libertad espiritual eterna.
