  «…Te ruego que me muestres tu gloria» (Éxodo 33:18) ¿Cuál dirías que es la característica principal de Dios? ¿Cuál es Su atributo más importante? Algunos dirían que es Su poder. Otros, Su santidad. Pero Dios mismo nos presenta una respuesta diferente. Puedes encontrar la respuesta en Éxodo 33. Moisés le pidió a Dios: «Te ruego que me muestres tu gloria». La traducción literal de la palabra gloria podría equivale a "peso completo". Se refiere a lo más pesado, lo más grande, lo más imponente de alguien. Es la suma total de su valor. Así que, lo que Moisés en realidad estaba diciendo, era: "Señor, quiero ver lo más pesado, lo más majestuoso de Ti, quiero conocer Tus mejores atributos". ¿Qué le respondió Dios? En Éxodo 34:6-7, leemos que: «Luego el Señor pasó delante de Moisés, y proclamó: «¡EL SEÑOR! ¡EL SEÑOR! ¡Dios misericordioso y clemente! ¡Lento para la ira, y grande en misericordia y verdad! ¡Es misericordioso por mil generaciones! ¡Perdona la maldad, la rebelión y el pecado…». ¡Tan solo piensa en eso! Cuando Moisés le pidió a Dios que le mostrara Su característica más importante, Dios le mostró Su misericordia. Eso significa que si vamos a imitar a Dios (Efesios 5:1), también debemos especializarnos en ese atributo. La misericordia, la bondad, el perdón y la compasión deben caracterizar nuestro comportamiento más que cualquier otra cosa. Especialízate en la misericordia para que los demás puedan ver la gloria de Dios en ti. Several of them will have been on hunger strike now for over 50 days. At the weekend and each day since, protests have taken place across the island of Ireland and in Britain. Irish republicans have a natural affinity with those who use hunger strike in protest against inhumane prison conditions and to advance democratic aims. Richard Allen's appeal makes a stunning allegation: the search warrant that launched the entire Delphi case was built on misrepresentations. In 2017, witness Sarah Carbaugh told police she saw a man walking down the road wearing a tan jacket. He was muddy. In 2022, Detective Tony Liggett swore under oath that Carbaugh described the man as wearing a blue jacket - and that he was muddy and bloody. Tan became blue. Muddy became muddy and bloody. According to the defense, that's not a mistake. That's allegedly altering a witness statement to fit a narrative. But it doesn't stop there. Betsy Blair - the eyewitness who saw a man on the High Bridge platform - gave a detailed description three days after the murders. Young, early twenties, medium build, brown poofy hair. She rated her sketch ten out of ten for accuracy. Richard Allen was 44 with short hair. He looks nothing like that sketch. The jury never saw it. And according to the appeal, Liggett never told the judge about it either. Blair also told Liggett directly that she and Carbaugh saw two different people. The Indiana State Police agreed - they issued a press release in 2019 saying explicitly they were "not the same person." Then Allen gets arrested and suddenly they're the same guy. The car descriptions don't match Allen's vehicle either. Blair described sharp angles, not black. Wilson described a purple PT Cruiser. Allen drove a black Ford Focus hatchback. Without this warrant, no search. Without the search, no gun. Without the gun, no bullet match. Without the bullet match, no arrest. Without the arrest, no solitary. Without solitary, no confessions. The entire case flows from this document. According to the defense, that's not a mistake. That's allegedly altering a witness statement to fit a narrative. But it doesn't stop there. Betsy Blair - the eyewitness who saw a man on the High Bridge platform - gave a detailed description three days after the murders. Young, early twenties, medium build, brown poofy hair. She rated her sketch ten out of ten for accuracy. Richard Allen was 44 with short hair. He looks nothing like that sketch. The jury never saw it. And according to the appeal, Liggett never told the judge about it either. Blair also told Liggett directly that she and Carbaugh saw two different people. The Indiana State Police agreed - they issued a press release in 2019 saying explicitly they were "not the same person." Then Allen gets arrested and suddenly they're the same guy. The car descriptions don't match Allen's vehicle either. Blair described sharp angles, not black. Wilson described a purple PT Cruiser. Allen drove a black Ford Focus hatchback. Without this warrant, no search. Without the search, no gun. Without the gun, no bullet match. Without the bullet match, no arrest. Without the arrest, no solitary. Without solitary, no confessions. The entire case flows from this document. Llevaba una caja de cartón con sus pertenencias. Una foto familiar, una taza con el logo de la empresa, un diploma enmarcado de Wharton. Detrás de él, un banco de 158 años de historia se desvanecía en la nada. Lo que ese ejecutivo no sabía —lo que nadie podía saber entonces— es que diecisiete años después, en diciembre de 2025, otro gigante tecnológico perdería exactamente la misma cantidad de capitalización bursátil. Cuatrocientos mil millones de dólares evaporados en cuestión de días. La diferencia es que esta vez la historia no termina con una caja de cartón. Termina con TikTok. Santiago 3:4 “Mirad también las naves; aunque tan grandes, y llevadas de impetuosos vientos, son gobernadas con un muy pequeño timón por donde el que las gobierna quiere”.Hoy quiero comenzar haciéndonos una pregunta que define no solo nuestro presente, sino nuestro destino final: ¿Quién tiene el timón de tu vida? Nuestra existencia es como un barco que emprende un viaje sobre aguas que cambian constantemente. A veces navegamos en mares tranquilos, tiempos de paz donde todo fluye y el gozo nos inunda; pero de pronto, la temporada cambia. El mar se agita de la nada y aparecen tormentas donde creemos que saldremos hechos pedazos. El punto clave es que la vida de todos los que van en el barco depende de quien lleva el timón, porque el timón es el que le dice al barco hacia dónde dirigirse.La realidad es que, muchas veces, nuestro barco va lleno de timoneles que representan las voces del mundo y no sabemos a quién obedecer. Es lo que sucede cuando abres las redes sociales, alguien dice que una fruta es maravillosa por sus vitaminas, otro dice que es veneno por la fructosa, otro que solo se come al desayuno y otro que mejor ni comprarla. Al final, confundidos, no sabemos si tirarla a la basura o comerla deshidratada. Así está nuestra vida hoy, llena de timoneles queriendo dar órdenes para dirigir nuestro barco ya que, quien tenga el timón será quien fije tu rumbo, y si el timón lo ha tenido el timonel equivocado, terminarás en lugares donde nunca debiste estar, por eso es importante preguntarnos ¿Quién está timoneando tu vida? Porque todo lo que vives y todo lo que haces es el resultado de una decisión, aquel que va en el timón, es el que lleva el control de tu vida.Es importante que entiendas que una tormenta no destruye un barco, un barco está diseñado para sobrevivir a ellas. Lo que destruye el barco es el timonel. Un buen timonel usa la tormenta a favor, decide cuándo guardar las velas, cuándo aligerar la carga o cuándo cambiar el rumbo. Pero un barco con varios timoneles a bordo dirigiendo el barco, no avanza ni en aguas tranquilas. (Este texto es por si lo quieres adaptar a la charla, de lo contrario, pásalo de largo) Muchos están atrapados en lo que Robert Kiyosaki en su libro "Padre Rico, Padre Pobre, se refiere a la rutina en la que muchas personas se encuentran atrapadas en su vida, donde trabajan duro en empleos tradicionales con la esperanza de obtener un aumento de sueldo, una promoción o un mejor puesto, pero a menudo sin lograr un verdadero progreso financiero o satisfacción personal. Imagina por un momento a las ratas corriendo en una rueda giratoria. A pesar de todo su esfuerzo y energía, en realidad, no llegan a ninguna parte. Este es el sentimiento detrás de la "carrera de la rata". Es una forma de describir esa sensación de estar siempre ocupado, trabajando duro, pero sin sentir que realmente avanzas hacia tus metas o sueños. Personas que no salen de lo mismo, siguen en los mismos círculos, llevan años viviendo lo mismo y en lo mismo, nunca salen del mismo círculo vicioso, porque el que timonea no sabe dirigir y te tiene dando vueltas en círculos en medio del inmenso mar.Quiero que identifiques cuales son los timoneles que intentan robar el control de tu barco:El Alma: El alma es el epicentro de las emociones, de los sentimientos, del intelecto, la memoria, la voluntad, la capacidad de tomar decisiones, todo lo que recuerdas en tu vida está en el alma, y muchas veces el alma es el timón de tu vida. Cuando tu vida es regida o dirigida por emociones, sentimientos, por recuerdos, te lleva al lugar y al destino equivocado.El Salmo 42:5 dice: “¿Por qué te abates, oh alma mía, Y te turbas dentro de mí? Espera en Dios...”. El abatimiento es la incertidumbre de no saber qué hacer, y no saber a donde ir, y te hace tomar decisiones por impulsos. Es la persona que, en un arranque emocional, deja su relación y, cuando quiere volver, ya hay alguien más en su lugar.Un ejemplo claro de personas que se dejan dirigir por el timonel del alma, es cuando sirven al Señor y creen que "castigan" a Dios dejando de servir o de ir a la iglesia, pero solo se dañan a sí mismos. Si el alma gobierna, serás como Saúl: un día movido por el celo, otro por la envidia, otro por la inseguridad.Mucha gente le suelta el timón de su vida a la amargura, al dolor o a los recuerdos y vivencias: “Me aíslo, me alejo, no hablo con nadie, todo me cae mal, todo me molesta, por todo gruño, por todo me quiero alejar”.El Cuerpo:Muchas personas son movidas por los sensores del cuerpo, la Biblia lo llama "La ley de los miembros" Romanos 6:12-13 “No reine, pues, el pecado en vuestro cuerpo mortal, de modo que lo obedezcáis en sus concupiscencias; ni tampoco presentéis vuestros miembros al pecado como instrumentos de iniquidad, sino presentaos vosotros mismos a Dios como vivos de entre los muertos, y vuestros miembros a Dios como instrumentos de justicia”. ¿Cuántas personas son dominadas por el oído? Muchos se deleitan en oír chismes, tienen comezón de oír, quieren saberlo todo, y lo que no saben se lo imaginan o se lo inventan, y muchos saben a dónde ir a picar para sacar información, porque su cuerpo tiene el timón.Hay gente que tiene el timón de su vida plasmado en la lengua; Santiago 3:5-6 "Así también la lengua es un miembro pequeño, pero se jacta de grandes cosas. He aquí, ¡cuán grande bosque enciende un pequeño fuego! Y la lengua es un fuego, un mundo de maldad. La lengua está puesta entre nuestros miembros, y contamina todo el cuerpo, e inflama la rueda de la creación, y ella misma es inflamada por el infierno” Tan pequeña y lo destruye todo, tan pequeña y lo manipula todo.¿Sabe por qué Dios hizo la lengua sin hueso? Porque si le hubiera puesto un hueso, muchos vivieran en ortopedia, con la lengua enyesada de tanto usarla sin control ni medida, si tu tienes problemas con la lengua, masque chicle, para que le dé vuelta el chicle y no le dé vuelta a la lengua.Ahora imagínese a alguien que el timón de su vida sea el cuerpo y tenga problemas en el oír, en el hablar, y en el ver, va ser guiado por impulsos, dice la Biblia que esa persona va a obedecer a la concupiscencia y va a vivir cometiendo errores, cometiendo errores, cometiendo errores, y va a volver a cometer el mismo error, porque el impulso de la concupiscencia es quien manda.Espíritus Inmundos: Muchas veces hay demonios que tienen el control de tu vida, potestades que tienen el control o el timón de tu vida, las decisiones que tomas no las tomas ni por guianza divina, ni por voz profética, sino son dirigidas por espíritus inmundos que te llevan a hacer lo que quieren y que te conducen a donde quieren porque el que tiene el timón define el rumbo y el destino. Así que hay lugares donde tú llegaste que no debías de haber llegado y lugares donde estuviste que no debiste haber estado y situaciones que viviste que no debiste haber vivido, porque espíritus inmundos tomaron el timón de tu vida.Dice la Biblia en Lucas 8:27 “Al llegar él a tierra, vino a su encuentro un hombre de la ciudad, endemoniado desde hacía mucho tiempo; y no vestía ropa, ni moraba en casa, sino en los sepulcros” Hay comportamientos que no son normales, que son demoníacos. Hay gente que el timón de su vida lo tienen espíritus inmundos. ¿Qué hacían los espíritus inmundos con el gadar...

Las palabras del Maestro debieron de chocarles, porque el templo representaba para sus compatriotas la presencia de Dios entre su pueblo.Sin embargo, menos de cuarenta años más tarde, en el año 70 d.C., las legiones romanas destruyeron Jerusalén e incendiaron el templo. Un bajorrelieve del llamado arco de Tito, levantado en Roma para conmemorar la victoria de ese general sobre Judea, representa a unos soldados llevando como trofeo el candelabro que iluminaba el lugar santo. Si algo había quedado de Jerusalén, fue completamente arrasado en el año 135 por el emperador Adriano.El famoso «Muro de las Lamentaciones» es solo parte de la inmensa plataforma de piedras que sostenía la explanada sobre la que se asentaba el templo.Por si esta eliminación de vestigios no fuera suficiente, el 18 de octubre del año 2016 el Consejo Ejecutivo de la Unesco «votaba» en París «la no existencia de vínculos entre el pueblo de Israel y las ruinas del Templo de Jerusalén». Como si la realidad histórica, como si la evidencia visible, fuera votable y solo dependiera de la opinión de una mayoría.De este Consejo, formado por 58 países, veinticuatro votaron a favor de borrar cualquier relación entre Israel y el antiguo templo. Solo seis (Estados Unidos, Alemania, Gran Bretaña, Lituania, Estonia y Países Bajos), se pronunciaron en defensa de la evidencia histórica de que Israel tuvo allí su templo. Hubo veintiséis abstenciones y dos ausencias.Esto significa que la destrucción profetizada por Jesús de que no quedaría del templo piedra sobre piedra se ha cumplido, tan literalmente que para muchos ya ha comenzado a desaparecer hasta la memoria de aquellas piedras.El templo había servido como símbolo visible de la presencia invisible de Dios entre nosotros (Éxo. 25: 8). En Jesús, Dios vino a habitar con nosotros (Juan 1: 14). Entonces y ahora Cristo es Emmanuel, «Dios con nosotros» (Mat. 1: 23).Tan fiable como su promesa de que nada quedaría de las piedras del templo, es la de que Jesús estará con nosotros «todos los días hasta el fin del mundo» (Mat. 28: 20).

(Ver también Núm. 11:33; 2 Crón. 36:16; Apoc. 14:10, 19; 15:1). Israel ya había experimentado la ira del Señor durante su travesía por el desierto (Núm. 11:33; 12:9) y en la Tierra Prometida (Jos. 7:1), y era plenamente consciente de las consecuencias de provocar la ira de Dios al quebrantar el pacto. Estos versículos representan el clímax de la severidad de la retórica de Josué. Resulta chocante oír que el Señor destruiría a Israel, ya que el mismo término se había utilizado anteriormente para referirse a la aniquilación de los cananeos. Tan cierto como que las promesas del Señor se habían cumplido fielmente en cuanto a la bendición de Israel, las maldiciones del pacto (Lev. 26; Deut. 28) también se harían realidad si los israelitas lo quebrantaban. A la luz del despojo y la destrucción de los cananeos, estos versículos demuestran una vez más que Dios es, en última instancia, el Juez de toda la tierra. Él declara la guerra al pecado independientemente de dónde se encuentre este. Israel no fue santificado ni adquirió méritos especiales por participar en la guerra santa, como tampoco los adquirieron las naciones paganas cuando más tarde se convirtieron en el medio del juicio utilizado por Dios contra la nación elegida. Israel debía decidir si haría de las gloriosas certezas del pasado el fundamento para afrontar el futuro. A primera vista, la enseñanza bíblica acerca de la ira de Dios parece incompatible con la afirmación de que él es amor (Juan 3:16; 1 Juan 4:8). Sin embargo, es precisamente a la luz de la ira de Dios como la doctrina bíblica de su amor adquiere mayor relevancia. En primer lugar, la Biblia presenta a Dios como amoroso, paciente, abnegado y dispuesto a perdonar (Éxo. 34:6; Miq. 7:18). Sin embargo, en el contexto de un mundo afectado por el pecado, la ira del Señor es la respuesta de su santidad y justicia ante el pecado y el mal. Su ira nunca es una reacción emocional vengativa e impredecible. El Nuevo Testamento enseña que Cristo se hizo pecado por nosotros (2 Cor. 5:21) y que hemos sido reconciliados con Dios mediante su muerte (Rom. 5:10). Quien crea en él no tendrá que hacer frente a la ira de Dios (Juan 3:36; Efe. 2:3; 1 Tes. 1:10). El concepto de la ira de Dios lo presenta como el Juez Justo del universo que defiende la causa de la justicia (Sal. 7:11; 50:6; 2 Tim. 4:8).

El Padre Bernardo Olivera es argentino y monje de la OrdenCisterciense de la Estrecha Observancia (OCSO), más conocidos como trapenses. Tiene ochenta y dos años y vive en el monasterio “Nuestra Señora de los Ángeles” ubicado en Azul, Provincia de Buenos Aires, Argentina. Llegó allí a los diezynueve años y fue ordenado sacerdote diez años más tarde. En este monasterio fue maestro de novicios, prior y abad. En 1990 fue elegido Abad General de la Orden Cisterciense, con responsabilidad sobre ciento sesenta y cinco monasterios en cinco continentes y alrededor de dos mil quinientos monjes y mil ochocientas monjas.  Fue durante los diez y ocho años de su cargo abacial cuando vivió el martirio de siete de sus monjes. Esto ocurrió hace casi treinta años, en mayo de 1996, en Tibhirine, Argelia. Hoy el Padre Bernardo nos comparte su camino de fe y la historia de los monjes mártires de Argelia: Dom Christian de Cherger, Hno Luc Dochier, Padre Christophe Lebreton, Hno Mochel Flevry, Padre Bruno Lemarchand, Padre Celestin Ringeard, Hno Paul Favre Miville. En el año 2008, el Padre Bernardo dejó su cargo de Abad General y volvió al monasterio de Argentina, donde fue elegido Abad de su comunidad nuevamente, cargo que ejerció hasta cumplir sus setenta y cinco años de edad.  El Padre Bernardo es autor de numerosos libros y es también el fundador, junto con un grupo de jóvenes y laicos, del movimiento de espiritualidad mariana y contemplativa “Soledad Mariana”. “No tengo plata ni oro, pero te doy lo que tengo”: un espacio donde encontrarnos con el que verdaderamente nos llena, para que nos tome de la mano, nos levante y nos ponga en camino nuevamente.
