This is the first part of a great flowing conversation I had with Garreth Bjaaland, whom regular followers of the Way will remember well from our conversations about the ingredients of comedy. In this conversation we go far and wide and surprisingly deep on matters related to comedy, we look at Gareths revisions and developments on this thinking about the Ingredients of Comedy, but we also ask and play at answering some bigger questions. We start from asking what is the core notes, or meaning and intention behind performances. Can we deliver only bleakness or is it really all about love?Support the show...Now you can get t-shirts and hoodies with our wonderful logo. This is the best new way to suport the podcast project. I slutet av augusti 2010 hittades 31-årige Gareth Williams död och intryckt i en stor röd sportbag som försetts med hänglås. Väskan upptäcktes i Gareths egen bostad i centrala London. Instagram:https://www.instagram.com/rysarpodden/Facebook:https://www.facebook.com/rysarpoddenMail:rysarpodden@gmail.com Hosted on Acast. Another change up this week, but most certainly not one to miss. This week I was joined by someone, who self proclaimed, has the best job in the world! Mark McAdam always had the dream of working in media and production, and working at Sky, well thats as good as it gets! I catch up with Mark after a hectic few weeks where he's been travelling around the country and living out of a suitcase. It is obviously a very big year in the football calendar with the World Cup approaching every faster and I hoped that Mark could give any England fan just that little bit of optimism despite the dire results that Gareths men have had over the last few months. Mark did exactly that and we can no all blame him if England don't perform in Qatar for getting our hopes up! This episode, although starting with the World Cup was about so much more. Mark was open and honest about everything he has done to date and for any young journalist, producer, reporter or anything revolving around sports production there is a 15 minute segment of this which you just have ton listen to. Mark explained his journey and his process to where he got to today, but as well as this, he took his time to say what he thought were they keys to earning success in this industry. I don't want to ruin the episode but all I'll say is if you're not doing it with a smile on your face, then why are you doing it! 2014 was a very big year for Mark in his career. This was the year that Mark first felt comfortable and open enough to be able to tell the public about his sexuality. Mark was the first openly gay sports reporter and has since paved the way for others in the sport to do the same. He is an inspiration for so many and genuinely one of the nicest people I have ever met. This is right up there with one of the best podcasts on The Tap and Go. I may be biased, but I assure you won't regret giving up an hour to listen to this one. Its long but it's worth it. A massive thank you to Mark again for giving up his evening and coming to chat to us. Keep an eye out for him this weekend as he'll be back on your screens! Learn more about your ad choices. This is a chance for you to help out with the running costs of the podcast, if you feel like you get a lot out of my interviews you can be a part of it by donating a small amount of money. I will be creating one extra monthly show specifically for my patrons. This is either an interview with a musician I know from the jazz scene or I also create episodes where I listen back to previous shows and chat about some key points that my guests bring up. There are so many great ideas and concepts that these amazing musicians bring up and I would like to share with you some of my favourites! Tomoko Omura Tomoko is a jazz violinist from Japan based in NYC. She has a great bop sound and writes really exciting original music. She is currently working on her 3rd studio album with some top players in New York. http://www.tomokoomura.com/ Gareth Ballard Check out Gareths amazing workshop via the link below. He makes lovely violins and is a talented repair and restorer of violins. He is great with set ups and sound adjustments. http://violinslondon.co.uk/ The music at the beginning of the episode is Tomoko Omura playing Relaxin at the Camarillo by Charlie Parker The outro music is my band Latchepen playing Benny Golson's 'Whisper Not' https://www.latchepen.com/ I feature English violinist John Pearce playing 'Lester Leaps in' by Count Basie at the very end. http://www.johnpearceviolin.com/

There are so many great ideas and concepts that these amazing musicians bring up and I would like to share with you some of my favourites! This is great for beginner jazz violinists who want a little direction once in a while. Nicola Benedetti Nicola Benedetti is one of the most sought-after violinists of her generation. Her ability to captivate audiences with her innate musicianship and dynamic presence, coupled with her wide appeal as a high-profile advocate for classical music, has made her one of the most influential classical artists of today. She has been collaborating with jazz musician Wynton Marsalis for a number of years but has just brought out her first release playing all of his music, written especially by him for her. It includes his Violin Concerto plus his 'Fiddle Dance Suite', the album is out now on Decca Records. We had a little chat in a hotel lobby in central London about the collaborative process that created this amazing album of music. (the sound quality isn't amazing this time, I get a little nervous when recording in hotel lobbies as hotels don't always appreciate me doing so. This means I have to record on the 'down-low and just use a little portable recorder...) Gareth Ballard Check out Gareths amazing workshop via the link below. He makes lovely violins and is a talented repair and restorer of violins. He is great with set ups and sound adjustments. http://violinslondon.co.uk/ The music at the beginning ofd the episode is Nicola playing Wyntons Fiddle dance suite for violin (Jones' Jig) The outro music is my band Latchepen playing Benny Golson's 'Whisper Not' I feature Austrailan violinist Julian Ferraretto tune 'Basel' right at the end.
Cream (Sloss) is back with G-Tip (Waugh) to discuss Gareths early rap career. I'm not kidding. I honestly can't rememeber anything else that happened in the podcast.
