Amore, Vino und Italo Disco: In der DONAU 3 FM Flimmerkiste sprechen wir diesmal mit Schauspieler Antonio Lallo über das Solo-Stück „Italo Disco“ in der Theaterei Herrlingen. Lallo spielt DJ Franco, einen alternden Italo-Disco-DJ, der mit seinem Equipment über die Dörfer zieht. Bei einem Auftritt fällt plötzlich die Anlage aus – und aus der Panne wird ein sehr persönlicher Abend. Franco erzählt von Italien, Schwaben, Familie, Enttäuschungen, Erinnerungen und natürlich ganz viel Musik. Antonio Lallo kennen viele aus Film und Fernsehen, unter anderem aus „Soko Stuttgart“, „Der Bergdoktor“, „Watzmann ermittelt“ oder „Eldorado“. In „Italo Disco“ steht er jetzt live auf der Bühne – als selbsternannter Italo-Schwabe in einer Rolle, die ihm sehr nah ist. Zu sehen ist „Italo Disco“ noch am Samstag und Sonntag, 6. und 7. Juni, sowie von Freitag bis Sonntag, 26., 27. und 28. Juni, in der Theaterei Herrlingen in Blaustein.

Italo Disco is een elektronische muziekstijl uit de jarentachtig met synthesizers, drumcomputers en melodieuze dansmuziek. In Dirksland wordt deze muziek centraal gesteld tijdens de Italo Dance Classics Party in De Vic. Het initiatief komt van liefhebbers die de muziek en de sfeer van vroegere discotheken willen laten herleven. Volgens de organisatoren draait het evenement vooral om gezelligheid, dansen en herkenning. DJ Harold Zwaartman verzorgt de muziek en richt zich op zowel bekende als minder bekende Italo-nummers. De organisatie hoopt dat het evenement bij succes een vervolg krijgt.

Mathias Modica ist ein Mann von Welt. Er wird 1977 in Rom geboren und verbringt dort die ersten drei Jahre seines Lebens, bevor es für drei Jahre nach Paris geht. Pünktlich zur Schulzeit wird die Familie in München sesshaft. Seine Mutter ist Italienerin, sein Vater der Komponist Robert Maximilian Helmschrott. Folglich ist Modica immer von Musik umgeben, schon als Fötus im Mutterleib. Modica bekommt die klassische Ausbildung. Er ist fünf, als er beginnt, Klavier zu spielen. Später studiert er das Instrument, spielt drei Jahre Saxophon und acht Jahre Schlagzeug. Zu Schulzeiten singt er in einer Hardcore-Punk-Band. Sein erstes Konzert spielt er mit 14. Mit seinem Vater bereist er immer wieder die Welt, wenn der Konzerte gibt. "Musik ist für mich so wichtig! Wichtiger als alles andere, außer vielleicht die Luft zum Atmen. Und die Liebe", sagt Modica. Nach dem abgebrochenen Studium arbeitet er beim Privatradio "Jazz Welle Plus", ab 1996 agiert er auch als Veranstalter in München. Zur Jahrtausendwende wird Modica mit Gomma zum Label-Macher für handgemachte Dance-Music. Er selbst tritt mit Munk in Erscheinung, wird zum deutschen Verbündeten von James Murphy und dessen LCD Soundsystem und ist Entdecker von WhoMadeWho. Gomma ist zwar Geschichte, dafür hat Modica 2014 das Dance-Label Toy Tonics gegründet. Neben seiner DJ-Crew wirbt Modica dafür weltweit Künstler*innen und Bands an, die via Soul, Funk, Afro, Italo Disco und mehr wieder Farbe, Freude und das Analoge ins House-Geschehen bringen. Seine Vorliebe für Jazz, Krautrock, Ambient und Artverwandtes lebt Modica außerdem seit 2018 mit dem Label Kryptox aus. Er veranstaltet europaweit regelmäßig Veranstaltungen und Label-Nights. Bei denen tritt er unter seinem DJ-Pseudonym Kapote in Erscheinung. Darunter hat er im März 2025 sein zweites Album "Para Mytho Disco" veröffentlicht. In the late 1970s, disco died in America and a new wave of Italian producers took advantage of the advances in electronic instruments to craft their own dancefloor fillers.The result was Italo disco – a genre of music recognisable for its synthesiser beats, heavily accented English lyrics and catchy melodies.One of the biggest hits was Dolce Vita.Singer Ryan Paris – real name Fabio Roscioli – tells Vicky Farncombe how it felt to be part of that moment.Eye-witness accounts brought to life by archive. Disco was becoming played out in America at the start of the 1980's but it was just getting started in Italy. Pino D'Angiò landed a YMCA-level Italian hit with the song Ma Quale Idea in 1980. The following year he unleashed the full Power of Pino with his debut LP Balla! This is Italo-Disco at it's Satanic best.

Auch unerfüllte Träume seien Träume, «bloss viel gefährlicher», schreibt Sara Gmuer in ihrem Roman «Achtzehnter Stock». Ein Berliner Plattenbau, in dem eine alleinerziehende Mutter lebt. – Zwei Mächte hassen sich, und keiner weiss weshalb: Bonn Park inszeniert «Romeo und Julia» als Italo-Disco-Oper. Seit fast 20 Jahren lebt die Schweizer Autorin Sara Gmuer in Berlin. Genauer gesagt, in Berlin-Lichtenberg, einem Stadtteil mit vielen Plattenbauten. Und in einem Plattenbau ist auch Gmuers neuer Roman angesiedelt: «Achtzehnter Stock» handelt von einer alleinerziehenden Mutter, die sich nichts sehnlicher wünscht, als aus der Armut herauszukommen und sich endlich ein glamouröseres Leben leisten zu können. Sie träumt von einer Karriere als Schauspielerin. In der Nachbarschaft wird sie dafür nur belächelt. Im Gespräch erzählt Sara Gmuer, wie sie beim Schreiben dieses rasanten Romans vorgegangen ist. Buchhinweis: Sara Gmuer: «Achtzehnter Stock». 220 Seiten. Hanser blau, 2024 Der deutsch-koreanische Theatermacher Bonn Park hat ein feines Gespür für den Zeitgeist. Dabei geht er oft von allgemein bekannten Stoffen aus, aktuell «Romeo und Julia» von Shakespeare. Seine Inszenierung fürs Schauspielhaus Zürich wird keine schlichte Nacherzählung des Originals werden. Das verrät schon der Untertitel des Stücks: «Eine Italo-Disco-Oper». Bonn ist ein Meister darin, Genres zu mischen und damit Konventionen zu hinterfragen. In seiner Zürcher Inszenierung geht es um die Normalisierung von schlechter Laune, die Utopie der Liebe und um Theater als Lüge und Trost.
