The Genesis G90 helped spin off the fledgling Genesis brand from its Hyundai starting place. Pivoting away from the Genesis Coupe of yore, the Genesis G90 helped push the Genesis brand into a hotly contested, and loyal, luxury sedan space. A space dominated by the likes of Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Audi and more. After helping establish the brand, Genesis launched the second generation of its G90 in 2021. The transition to its second generation added needed tech upgrades and helped the brand's flagship sedan better fall in line with the current design language. While the V8 didn't make the transition to the second generation, the G90 offers a pair of turbocharged V6 mills, with the e-supercharged variant boasting 409 hp.  On this episode of Quick Spin, host Wesley Wren hops behind the wheel of the 2024 Genesis G90 and puts it through its paces. Wren takes you on a guided tour of the '24 G90 and highlights some of his favorite features. Later, Wren takes you along for a live drive review of the large Genesis sedan. Adding to these segments, Wren chats with Autoweek's Patrick Carone about Genesis, the G90, and the luxury sedan space. Closing the show, the pair break down what makes the '24 Genesis G90 special.

Tom opened the show complaining about people who spend too much time considering their selections at donut shops, specifically at Spunky Dunkers in Palatine, IL, when Tom is trying to pick up a 6-pack on his way to the studio. In a follow up to last week's Ford Explorer review, Jill and Tom turned their attention to cars, and the news that GMC will be reducing the number of Terrain compact crossover trim levels to three for 2026, and just one for 2025. This is a follow up to Jill's Explorer review from last episode, in which the hosts noted that Ford is slashing the number of that vehicle's trim levels from eight to just four. Jill shared her drive impressions of the new-for-2025 Genesis GV80 Coupe. The 4-door midsize crossover deviates from the existing GV80 with its rakish roofline, more upscale trappings, and unique, higher-performance engine. In the second segment, Jill and Tom welcome Dan Sampson of the Los Angeles Auto Show to the podcast. During a great conversation, Dan addressed the notion that auto shows are going through a period of decline, shared news about new and returning brands to the show, and shared details regarding online access to the proceedings. The L.A. Show kicks off in late November. In the last segment Jill is subjected to Tom's “Real or Fake Auto Show” quiz, including a pumpkin-spice bonus question.

※ 投稿邮箱:418150505@qq.com※ 本文章发布于订阅号:百车全说,订阅号阅读更加方便,欢迎关注最近一段时间,网络上车迷们非常关注一款车型,那就是现代的伊兰特N。这款车配备2.0T直列四缸发动机,8挡湿式双离合,280马力392牛米,5.3秒破百。看数据,比高尔夫GTI 和国内的网红钢炮领克03+都要快。还有些媒体开着伊兰特N下赛道刷了几圈成绩,都惊呼这台车简直是赛道神器,只要引入国内,售价在领克03+和高尔夫GTI之间,肯定会是个爆款。那么伊兰特N会是爆款吗?首先,什么叫爆款?月销一万台以上叫爆款,还是订货等3个月,原价甚至加价卖才叫爆款?性能车注定就是一小波人群关注的市场,新玩家进场只能与老玩家做零和博弈,因为国内玩性能车的人并没有爆发式增长。只有靠老玩家带新玩家入门,才有可能增加一些性能车的萌新小白,每年这个基础是有限的。甚至,这两年随着新能源车的发展,还有玩性能车的老炮年龄增长,结婚生子之后,逐渐都退出了性能车圈子,人家没时间跑赛道,没时间天天跑改装店折腾自己的爱车。买一台百公里加速3秒多的电动车,照样可以随时在路上蹦一下。所以,老玩家退圈,新玩家没人带入圈,中国性能车圈子总共就那么大,靠几个玩性能车的KOL天天产出内容,也都没起到什么带动作用。但是伊兰特N折射出一个很现实的问题,那就是韩系车其实很强,无论是走豪华路线,还是走运动路线,韩系车都有自己拿得出手的作品。走豪华路线的进口现代雅科仕,号称是韩国版劳斯莱斯,当年有3.8L V6和5.0L V8两个版本,引入中国市场,曾豪言壮语要对标奔驰S级和宝马7系。入门70多万,顶配128万。我认识一老板,2012年入了一台雅科仕,开到今年要卖,想换奔驰迈巴赫S,二手车贩子都不好意思开价,说最多值10小几万,你就放到公司当员工出差用车算了。要知道,同年份的奔驰S级,至少比雅科仕多卖10万上下。这就是现实,没办法。论产品力,雅科仕没有弱到哪里去,但是在当年进口现代的销售体系里,雅科仕的销售政策,无论优惠多少钱,只要销售能卖出去一台,就可以提成1万。但最后还是卖不出去, 只好退市。而韩系车走性能路线,就不得不提早年的劳恩斯酷派GENESIS COUPE。实际上已经在国内性能车迷圈子里有着很高的地位了,今天在二手车市场淘到的劳恩斯酷派,大多数都有过改装的痕迹。很可惜,进口现代的经销商网络,在2017年就基本全部退网,伤了一大批进口现代车主的心,劳恩斯酷派这么好的车,只怪他投胎投错了品牌。最近两年,现代又在国内发布了一个叫捷尼赛思的品牌,大家一看英文名GENESIS,这不就是当年的劳恩斯吗?而当年的劳恩斯,现在的捷尼赛思要走豪华路线,经销商渠道还都独立出来,展厅装修得非常高大上,且都通过线上下订单,严格控制价格统一性。花拳绣腿的在原地打了一套拳,有啥用呢?捷尼赛思我到现在都没弄明白,买它的理由除了新鲜感,还能有啥?其实,倒不如直接把现代的N系列,直接放到捷尼赛思的品牌里。好歹,我们还能给自己一个买它的理由。原来捷尼赛思的车型这么凶,我用BBA的价格,就可以在捷尼赛思买到堪比奔驰AMG、宝马M和奥迪RS性能的车型,那岂不是直呼真香?伊兰特N不就是这么玩的,2.0T高功率发动机+8速湿式双离合、19英寸轮圈+米其林高性能PS4S轮胎、前大单活塞刹车、集成式驱动桥、还有让GTI车主羡慕到流口水的E-LSD电子限滑差速器、R-MDPS扭矩驾驶辅助系统,甚至还增加了NGS系统,可以让发动机瞬间增加10马力。可是大哥,这是一台伊兰特,在中国老百姓心中就是满大家跑的出租车,给他整那么性能干啥呢?我感觉现代是把力气花错了地方。如果他仔细调研一下国内市场,真的想玩的人,人家早就用索10和K5的2.0T发动机加外挂电脑,刷到了300马力、430牛米了。还等你这伊兰特N做啥?当然,你要说原厂调教,整车强化,赛道性能这些,那你是赛道大神,发烧友级玩家,可是你就差这点钱,偏要买伊兰特N吗?大部分人还是属于想要稍微体验一下性能,但又不十分激进的车型。就像吃火锅的时候一样, 你问他清汤、微辣、重辣,大多数人选择的还是微辣,因为有点辣就可以了,不行我再加。可是重辣到底有多辣,我心里没底,别到时候吃两口就扛不住,这一桌菜可就浪费了。实际上现代的N部门从2013年就成立了,2014年重金挖来了前宝马M部门的总工程师,然后重金打造的i20 N拿下了WRC冠军,i30 N拿下了WTCR冠军。但是这两款车对于中国消费者来说,太小众了,几乎没人知道。你哪怕提起飞思这个i30的换壳车,多少还有些人知道,就是那个前脸长得像苍蝇一样,左边一个门,右边两个门,1.6T的进口现代小钢炮。这车当年能见度还挺高,主要是一些不愿意加价买高尔夫的人,查阅了N多资料,才发现了这台车可以替代高尔夫入手,脑子一热就买了。现代N系列诞生的核心目的,就是想扭转消费者对于韩国车是廉价代步工具的形象。但是在中国消费者心中已有的人设,再想转型实在是比登天还难。我觉得与其转变形象,还不如追求销量来得更实际一些。所以,大家不要光看到伊兰特N,还要注意看N系列下面还有个N Line系列。关于N Line系列大家一定要擦亮眼睛,因为带有在标识的车型,有可能是真的性能加强了,也有可能就像大众R -Line,丰田卡罗拉GR Sport一样只是多了一套皮肤而已。比如,今后可能会上市伊兰特N Line车型,换装上201马力、265牛米的1.6T发动机,比现有的伊兰特普通版本1.5L和1.4T都要强很多,上市对标思域Si。思域现在顶配都卖到16万多了,再上个Si版本铁定不会低于18、9万。那么伊兰特N Line版本真的上市,别说18万了,就算定个16万多你买吗?现在伊兰特的销量,八成都是1.5L的版本,10-12万的售价,还得有1万上下的优惠,才能跑得动销量。所以伊兰特N Line版本,我劝厂家就不要出了,或者出了也别真的量产,有订单就造,没订单就拉到,随缘就好。而途胜L N Line,就是一个换皮肤的版本,性能方面没有任何提升,只是加了一些外观套件的点缀而已。但是N Line版本有一点好,就是都是国产现代很快就能用上,不像真正的N系列,还要等很久,不知道什么时候能进来。为什么韩国现代前几年像是要放弃中国市场一样,新车型的更新速度明显放缓,对外宣传也大幅减少。但是最近两年发力非常猛,新车型隔几个月就上一款,甚至还带来了捷尼赛思这样的新品牌。其实原因很简单,早年因为某德事件,现代很清楚在中国市场今后的日子肯定不好过了,所以就把精力转到了北美市场,还有印度市场。咱们中国消费者再怎么看不起韩国车,你也得知道现代好歹是全球排名前5的车企,人家在欧洲市场混的也是风生水起。而最近两年,因为全球疫情的原因,国外的汽车市场不景气,所以现代集团又想着要发力中国市场了。这一轮伊兰特N的宣传,其实就是配合全球现代的宣传节奏,走一波流程而已。在中国市场韩国车代表着什么,难道厂家自己还不清楚吗?就是工具车,就是中低端车。性价比还可以,但又不是很突出。产品说得过去,但又不是首选的车型。如果预算5-10万,大把的国产车可以选;预算10-15万国产紧凑级SUV,合资紧凑级轿车大把可以选;15-25万合资B级车,合资紧凑级SUV大把可选;25-35万基本都可以看到豪华品牌了。豪华品牌7以上市场都是BBA,基本无解。我这里还没算上新能源车市场的两位数增长。所以伊兰特N,对于中国消费者而言,说到底还是台伊兰特。只是在少数车迷眼里,他们会觉得N更值钱,至少省下了不少改装的钱。但我觉得,现代厂家肯定不愿意让车迷们把自己当成官方的改装厂。他们更希望用车迷的影响力带动现代品牌的品牌力,至少让消费者从韩国车身上,找到一些可以吹牛的资本,让这些影响力下到那些普通韩系车型上,努力增加现代品牌在中国市场的占有量。况且高尔夫GTI新款上市,马上本田TYPE R又要来了,正好借着性能车这波势头,想蹭一蹭热度,带着现代品牌向上走几步。但我觉得这实在是太难了,现代的车标,就撑不住20万以上的价位。即使我们知道N部门总工程师是前宝马M部门的总工程师,即使我们知道i20 N拿下了WRC的冠军。但这又能怎样呢?标致雪铁龙拿了那么多年的WRC冠军,最后在中国市场都快倒闭了。当年买标致206的车主们,有没有冲着WRC冠军去的?有,但是极少。绝大多数人根本不了解WRC和WTCR到底意味着什么?因为中国根本没有赛车文化,就算今后会有赛车文化,也绝对不会是韩国车企来给咱们中国消费者宣传赛车文化。估计现代的工程师们肯定想不通,我给你的伊兰特N,哪方面都不比GTI和TYPE R差,定价也就20来万,怎么就卖不掉呢?你说那是因为信仰,可是新能车车主年纪轻轻 ,哪儿来的信仰,难道是遗传的吗?DNA里带出来的吗?对于大多数消费者而言,他们对韩系车的需求,仅仅是高可靠性,免费保养,免费保修,价格便宜,配置丰富即可。汽车厂家经常宣传的所谓“运动”车型,只是表面上的运动,而绝非赛事的运动。即使是领克03+这种车型,他也是在基于平时驾驶舒适性的基础上,适当的与赛道有些联系,营造出能上街能跑赛的错觉,领克花大力气拿下了WTCR年度总冠军,本质上对国内领克的销量影响力并不大。但是对部分车迷的影响力还是挺大的,同时,也让领克在全球范围内有了一定知名度,对开拓国际市场也有帮助。现如今,市场上的购车主体一直在变化,但是现代好像根本看不到这一点。中国市场的消费者,想要更加智能化,更加像移动客厅的那种,打造全新生活方式的车型和品牌。而现代汽车打从一开始就是着眼全球市场来打造产品的,中国市场只是全球版图中的一块而已。所以在很长一段时间内,现代的车型中国特供很少,而且自恃清高,觉得自己跟德系、日系是一个档次(确实销量在全球排名前4)。但是随着前几年韩系车在中国市场的沉寂期,现代开始调整策略,一方面让中方自主研发,打造特供车型来讨好消费者,另一方面引入全球化的高性能和高端车型,来塑造现代的“高质量品牌”形象。这也是被逼无奈之举,有些事情错过了,再想扳回一局,真的比登天还难。中国没有汽车赛事的土壤,消费者无法对N系列产生共鸣,捷尼赛思豪华体现在哪里,大家也一脸懵逼。而且市场大环境又是电动化、智能化的趋势,折腾燃油车的高性能和豪华,到头来可能就是竹篮打水一场空。可以添加微信46415254加入我们的社群音频图文更新在订阅号: 百车全说每期抽三条留言,每人赠168元的“芥末绿”燃油添加剂一瓶点击订阅,每周三,周六更新会有提醒新听友可以搜索:百车全说2014,百车全说2015,百车全说2016,往期300多个小时的节目可供收听
