On this week's episode of Stoned Appetit, the gang are battling against the world's most deadly virus, as well as Kip's coming back from wine country. We start the week off talking about the woes of Chris's life and we have a new enemy in the cunt landlords of metro Denver. After we shit on those guys, we briefly break down Kip's Grand Junction & Palisade trip. After an internet interruption, we just dive into our kickass guest interview of the week: DJ Paws.Paws aka Austin aka Friend of the Program is the local DJ for the Denver Nuggets & is about to showcase his shit this weekend at Global Dance Festival. His set is Friday night, ballpark time...dusk? either way, buy tickets... but outside of that, we talk about his tenure in the bubble with the biggest NBA stars on the planet, partying with the Avalanche.. and also dive into his life history and how he got to this point. Immensely humble & grateful, Paws is a kickass dude with a cool ass job. Great interview, chill mf, buy tickets to his set this weekend (they sell single day tickets on their website).Stay well, stay happy.. sorry for the shit audio.-Kip
On episode 1 of the Festy Hub Podcast, I go into detail about my Global Dance Festival experience and my thoughts on it.
Day Trip turned out to be the first post-Covid major music festival in Southern California, but not without lots of drama with two venue changes within two weeks of the show. But, Insomnniac CEO Pasquale Rotella gave attendees some major gifts to make up for it. We discuss lineups for SoCal’s Escape Halloween, Denver’s Global Dance Festival, and El Paso’s Freakazoid Robots. Plus we continue our conversation about the ongoing fast food chicken sandwich war. After seeing Skrillex and Deadmau5 live at his first EDM show, Tyler Shiffer, only 16 at the time, left feeling inspired to make electronic music. Shortly after, he played his first show at an Electronic Tuesday's gig at Cervantes' Masterpiece Ballroom in Denver. and soon enough he was headlining his own show at Cervantes'. After taking some time away from the club scene to self-reflect, it was his faith that led him to return and share his love for music and for the people in EDM culture. After releasing singles on a number of labels, Phocust is taking on a new challenge in partnering with some fellow producers to launch Apostle Records, a brand new Christian EDM record label. He's played festivals in Colorado like Global Dance Festival, Supernatural Festival, Heavenfest (2 years), Mayday Music Fest, and Life Day alongside many recognizable artists such as Deadmau5, Illenium, Tiesto, Flux Pavilion, Ray Volpe, Tisoki, Chime, MUST DIE!, Dirt Monkey, and others. For this episode we go through Dawn and Sarah's first hand experience detailing everything there is to know and experience at the Global Dance Fest. BIO Terravita has spanned the electronic genres during their storied career, with a history in bass music from the years of drum & bass, through the years of dubstep and trap into the current sounds and styles of hybrid bass music that defies genre . Members Chris and Jon are true experienced professionals. With a huge catalog of remixes, singles, EPs, and 2014's Rituals LP on their musical resume, Terravita continues to prove their expertise by consistently steering bass music in a whole new direction. They credit hip-hop and metal influences for their ever-evolving sound and now brings a unique blend of hip-hop influenced bass music with melodic undertones to its long-time fans.
