This week we kick things off with Young Thug's sit-down interview with Big Bank and what he had to say. From there, Lecrae gets his flowers, we settle the internets heated Pusha T vs Jeezy debate, and we break down cars ranked by fatal accidents (with some surprising results). The crew also reacts to Charlie Kirk's name in the headlines, the wild idea of a UFC event on the White House lawn, and the Basketball Hall of Fame induction including the drama around Melo's speech. We wrap with Week 2 of the NFL and Johnny's picks. Segment 1 • Forgiveness isn't optional—even when repentance isn't perfect. • Broken trust with family means hard, intentional work to rebuild it. • TRANSFORMED SEASON 4 sets the stage with practical application. Segment 2 • OnlyFans is exploding across college campuses—a tragic cultural trend. • Lecrae releases Reconstruction while flirting with deconstruction themes. • AI “truth” is shaky; apostasy and self-made “truths” define deconstruction. Segment 3 • Jimmy preaching on deconstruction at camp—Gen Z's battlefront. • Even Sproul and MacArthur disagreed—unity is bigger than uniformity. • Don't treat church like a product—show up to participate, not consume. Segment 4 • Jen Hatmaker admits she left the church, maybe for good. • Simply showing up to church encourages others more than you think. • Marriage isn't about convenience—it's a God-designed school of character. ___ Thanks for listening! In episode 96 of the Mind Shift Podcast, Aaron and Erwin Raphael McManus dive into a wide-ranging conversation that blends leadership, faith, and authenticity. They open by discussing Erwin's recent interview with Lecrae, who described him as both respected and misunderstood in the Christian world. From there, they unpack theological debates, including Erwin's stance on fully believing the Bible without reading it literally, and his critique of the “Christian industrial complex” that prioritizes commercialization over genuine spiritual experience. They reflect on Erwin's early years serving the urban poor, building his own wealth outside the church to sustain ministry, and pushing back against unhealthy expressions of faith that distort real miracles. Both emphasize Jesus as the true center of faith—above promises of heaven or supernatural signs—while sharing personal stories that challenge conventional motivations for belief. The conversation moves through topics like the purity of faith without the promise of heaven, the role of integrity in spiritual leadership, and the need for authentic community, ending with an invitation for listeners to join the discussion, contribute ideas, and become part of the Mind Shift journey.Join the Mind Shift community here: http://erwinmcmanus.com/mindshiftpodFollow On Socialhttps://www.youtube.com/@ErwinRaphaelMcManushttps://instagram.com/mindshiftpodhttps://instagram.com/erwinmcmanushttps://instagram.com/aaroncmcmanusJoin The Newsletter!https://erwinmcmanus.com/newsletter

What if true blessing isn't about being strong, but about surrender? In this message, inspired by Lecrae's journey from burnout to restoration, we explore Jesus' words in Matthew 5:3-4 and discover how admitting “God, I can't do this” can be the start of real life. Learn six powerful ways we depend on God for our physical, emotional, and spiritual flourishing — and how weakness becomes strength in Him.

In her interview with Lecrae, Nyla Symone dives into the rapper’s journey, creative evolution, and upcoming album Reconstruction (out August 22). Lecrae opens up about breaking into mainstream hip hop with Church Clothes, navigating the “Christian rapper” label, and choosing authenticity over chasing fame. He unpacks the meaning behind Reconstruction, emphasizing that broken people can be rebuilt, and shares personal stories—including the loss of his cousin to fentanyl. The conversation also touches on Lecrae’s faith-driven approach to music, his thoughts on collaborating across genres, and a humorous moment involving Kendrick Lamar mentioning him during the Drake beef. Lecrae reflects on his growth, saying he’s at peace being in the tension between worlds, as long as he stays true to who he is. Tune in and comment in the socials below. “Fight a little longer, my friend it's all worth it in the end.”In this powerful message, we kick off a new series where we look at the biblical truths behind worship songs, starting with “I'll Find You” by Lecrae and Tori Kelly. Through real-life stories, honest moments of grief, and the hope found in Scripture, we're reminded that even in pain, God is close, He is faithful, and He's not finished with you yet.
We do not desire to desparage or attack Francis Chan or Lecrae. But the truth is, insecurity affects everyone, no matter how successful, talented, or confident they might appear. And the real danger isn't just feeling insecure—it's pretending we're not. Because when we hide our struggles, we actually give them more power over us.But here's the good news: honesty breaks the chains of insecurity. When we open up about our struggles, we invite healing, we invite freedom, and most importantly, we invite God into the places we've tried to hide. And today, we're going to talk about why being honest about our struggles is so important—not just for ourselves, but for those who are watching us. On this week’s Granger Smith Podcast, Granger sits down with Christian hip-hop artist, spoken word poet, and all-around encourager, Dillon Chase—and the conversation is as real as it gets. From the Texas panhandle to the heart of Oklahoma, Dillon shares his powerful testimony of growing up surrounded by addiction and pain, and how those hard roads ultimately led him straight to Jesus. Dillon gets honest about what it means to suffer as a Christian—walking through special needs parenting, prodigal children, and the reality that following Christ doesn’t mean life gets easier. In fact, sometimes the suffering goes even deeper, but God’s goodness is always greater. The guys talk about the transformation that happens when you move from “knowing about God” to really knowing Him, how true discipleship changes everything, and why the local church—and having real spiritual mentors—matters so much. Dillon opens up about his journey from secular rap to using his music and spoken word as a platform for the gospel, with encouragement from Christian hip-hop legend Lecrae and a passion to see lives changed, not just entertained. They dive into the messy beauty of church history, denominations, expository preaching, and how reading the Bible for more than just “comfort” can actually confront, challenge, and reshape our lives. Plus, Dillon performs a moving spoken word piece live on the show. If you’ve ever wrestled with suffering, struggled with church hurt, or wondered how to hold onto hope when life gets hard, this episode will encourage and equip you. Listen in for: ➡️ A raw, unfiltered testimony about faith in the fire ➡️ Why “suffering is temporary, but God’s goodness is forever” (2 Corinthians 4) ➡️ Behind-the-scenes stories from the Christian music world ➡️ The life-changing impact of discipleship and community ➡️ How God can redeem even the darkest parts of our story Check out Dillon’s music on all platforms and stay tuned for his upcoming album, “Not Destroyed.” Subscribe, rate, and share this episode if it resonates—because someone you know probably needs this hope, too. ********************************************** CONNECT WITH MY PODCAST: Instagram► https://instagram.com/GrangerSmithPod YouTube► https://www.YouTube.com/@UCD1JSCn257RlatavklMALyg My NEW BOOK HERE▶ www.grangersmith.com APPAREL™️ GEAR ▶ https://YeeYeeApparel.com SUBSCRIBE HERE ▶ http://smarturl.it/gschannelsubscribe Subscribe to my family channel here ▶ http://youtube.com/TheSmithsTV TALK TO ME ON SOCIAL MEDIA: Instagram► https://instagram.com/GrangerSmith Facebook► https://facebook.com/GrangerSmith Twitter► https://twitter.com/GrangerSmith Website► https://GrangerSmith.com See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Matt Black: The Road to House of DavidCedarville University junior Matt Black is living proof that storytelling — when fueled by faith and purpose — can open extraordinary doors. A broadcasting, digital media, and journalism major, Matt is the founder of Matt Black Media and a rising force in performance photography. But his latest endeavor has taken him from concert stages to biblical epic: he's joined the Wonder Project team for House of David, a dramatic series created by Jon Erwin (Jesus Revolution) and now streaming on Amazon Prime Video.Matt brings more than technical skill to the set — he brings heart. His journey started in 2018 at Word of Life camps in New York, where his camera and his calling first intersected. That passion deepened during his internship with Word of Life Fellowship after high school, where he saw how visual storytelling could serve ministry.Since enrolling at Cedarville, his impact has only grown. In 2023, a spontaneous “yes” to photograph Winter Jam in Tampa, Florida, became a defining moment. Since then, Matt has worked with artists like Crowder, Lecrae, Danny Gokey, and For King and Country. His content has reached thousands through social media and promotional campaigns — each image a message of hope. Now, as part of House of David, Matt helps bring Scripture to life on screen, using his visual gifts to illuminate truth for a global audience. On the Cedarville Stories podcast, he urges young creatives to “embrace opportunities and say yes.” Clearly, he's done exactly that.https://share.transistor.fm/s/4684384fhttps://youtu.be/SPH4Ceh9aIY

We're in a relationship crisis. Everyone's talking about chemistry and compatibility, but no one's talking about maturity. And when emotional immaturity meets unaddressed shame, sexual frustration, and spiritual avoidance? It's a recipe for dysfunction. This week, Stephen Chandler joins Win Today to kick off a hard-hitting four-week series on relationships. In this conversation, we're getting real about the deeper issues driving relational pain—and why surface-level fixes don't work. Stephen unpacks: Why emotional immaturity is sabotaging modern relationships How sexual frustration creates silent fractures in marriages The role shame plays in both intimacy and avoidance The subtle ways we use spiritual language to hide dysfunction This isn't another “five tips for better communication” episode. It's a wake-up call. Whether you're dating, married, engaged, or trying to get back into the relationship game, this conversation will expose the patterns keeping you stuck—and invite you into a maturity that transforms everything. Let's be honest, when it comes to relationships, most of us are winging it. We chase chemistry, avoid conflict, and wonder why we keep repeating the same cycles. But what if the problem isn't compatibility... it's maturity? This month on Win Today, we're tearing the lid off what no one wants to talk about—with a four-week series called LOVE LIKE THIS. These aren't fluffy conversations. They're real, raw, and disruptive—in the best way. WEEK ONE (04/02): Stephen Chandler kicks us off with a hard-hitting conversation about emotional immaturity, sexual frustration, and how shame is sabotaging intimacy from the inside out. WEEK TWO (04/09): Kait and JJ Tomlin are coming for your dating life—talking about red flags, deal-breakers, why love is forged, not found, and yes… why women should absolutely drop the hanky. WEEK THREE (04/16): Gabe and Rebekah Lyons show up with the truth every married couple needs to hear—why your spouse isn't a formula to solve, how emotional pain sets the stage for infidelity, and why the marriage you want is built, not wished for. WEEK FOUR (04/23): Dave and Ann Wilson close out the series with a raw look at how your wounds are showing up in your marriage, the power of your words to either crush or restore, and how intimacy becomes manipulation when pain goes unhealed. This is the series your relationship needs—even if it's not the one you want. Whether you're single, dating, married, or just trying to heal—LOVE LIKE THIS will call you up, not just call you out. Subscribe now on Apple Podcast, Spotify, or YouTube, and don't miss a single week.

On today's show we chat with Svrcina!Singer/songwriter SVRCINA mixes earnest balladry and adventurous electro-pop in the spirit of Sia and Ellie Goulding. Following her initial EPs, she garnered wider attention with her 2020 full-length, Elysian Fields. Born Molly Svrcina in 1996 in Detroit, Michigan, SVRCINA ("sur-cee-nah") sang in church growing up, and became passionate about music around the age of eight. Starting her career as Molly Hunt before adopting her family name, she moved to Nashville, got a manager, and a series of subsequent writing partnerships led to her signing her first publishing deal in 2009 at the age of 13. She released a handful of acoustic-minded pop ballads as Molly Hunt over the next few years before dropping the moniker in 2013. During that year, she released SVRCINA videos including a cover version of Imagine Dragons' "Bleeding Out" and her original Christmas song "The Difference." In 2014, she was featured on the Built by Titan dance track "The Darkness," and her debut EP Lover. Fighter. arrived in early 2016. An eponymous EP appeared in early 2018, followed a year later by the Hearing Colour EP. She also garnered attention behind the scenes, co-penning MOTi and Icona Pop's "Sink Deeper," and Sj and Joakim Molitor's "Live Without You," both in 2019. There were also collaborations with Robin Schultz, Lecrae, Hulvey, and Tommee Profit. With her most recent album release, 1200 Beats Per Minute, SVRCINA, again, showcases breathtaking vocals and mature lyricism while evoking the emotions of all who listen. @svrcinasongssvrcina.comchristianmusicguys.com@christianmusicguys.com

At some point, almost everyone hits a wall in their faith. The emotional highs don't last, the formulas stop working, and the deeper questions won't stay buried. Midlife, in particular, isn't just about aging—it's about confronting what's real, what's broken, and what needs to change. And if we're not careful, we settle for a faith that looks polished on the outside but leaves us spiritually depleted on the inside. That's why this conversation with Tim Ross is so crucial. Tim is known for his raw, unfiltered approach to faith and culture—challenging easy answers and pushing beyond surface-level spirituality. In this episode, we're diving deep into: Why spiritual formation in midlife requires a different approach than in your 20s and 30s. The right way to heal your nervous system—and why emotional and spiritual health are inseparable. Why curiosity and offense cannot coexist—and how learning to sit with discomfort leads to real transformation. The deceptive side of being ‘spiritual'—why some of the most "mature" believers are actually the most fragile. If you feel like your faith has stalled, if you're done chasing the next emotional high, or if you're wondering how to build true resilience in a culture addicted to outrage, this episode is for you. Listen now and start rethinking what real spiritual growth looks like. Episode Links Show Notes Buy my NEW BOOK "Healing What You Can't Erase" here! Invite me to speak at your church or event.
