Each year growing in size and hype, 2018 marked a new monumentous turning point, when the venue of the festival was announced to be Dodger's Stadium with a setlist of headliners that no other festival could obtain. However, that doesn't mean it didn't bring with it it's own set of controversies. From Kids See Ghosts, to Jaden Smith's declaration; we break down the biggest controversies of CFG 2018; segweying perfectly into this week's discussion topic, is rap the new punk? 3) What are your NYE plans? As festival season 2018 comes to a satisfying end, we look frowards towards the new year and one of our favorite festivals and ways to ring in the new year, Decadence AZ. Put on by Relentless Beats and Global Dance, Decadence continues produce one of the best lineups in EDM of the year. This year's event will be headlined by; Above & Beyond, Alison Wonderland, DJ Diesel (Shaq), NGHTMARE, Rezz, Skrillex, Porter Robinson, and so many more. Which took place on both June 22-25 & June 29-July 2 in Rothbury, Michigan. This was the first year that Electric Forest expanded to two weekends. In the past, Electric Forest has set a precedent for all other festivals follow. Incorporating a wide range of music and art, all promoting the ideas of peace, love, and awareness; Electric Forest is truly unlike any other festival in America. Founded originally as Rothbury Music Festival in 2008, Electric Forest has held roots within the festival community for years. After taking a slight dive in 2010, the festival was then revived by Madison House Productions, now partnered with Insomniac Events, as Electric Forest. With a heavy focus on jam and electronic music, E. Forest has held a strong ability to constantly attract new fans as well as maintain a solid dedicated fan base. Which took place from June 15-18 at The Dover International Speedway, in Dover, Delaware. It was a special year for Firefly, as this was the first year the festival unveiled it’s new “fan curated” program, which allowed early ticket holders to vote on numerous things from vendors to headlining acts and everything in between. On this episode of America’s #1 music festival podcast & radio show, we explore the sounds and vibes of one of the top festivals in all the Americas; Sasquatch Music Festival. Taking place this Memorial Day weekend from May 26-28 at The Gorge Amphitheater in gorgeous Washington state. This year’s lineup featured an insane group of top artists from every genre. Including LCD Soundsystem, Chance The Rapper, Twenty One Pilots, and so many more. Frank Ocean was originally scheduled to perform but has since backed out due to personal circumstances, but Sasquatch was lucky enough to get one of top acts of 2017, LCD Soundsystem to fill in. So with out skipping a beat you can still expect Sasquatch to continue it’s legacy as one of the top festivals this year.
