Welcome back to another episode of the world's number 1 music festival podcast FestHype.  Hosted by Steven Rhys, this week we go through a plethora of topics ranging from artists DEFINITELY NOT GOING TO COACHELLA, quick review of Camp Flog Gnaw, and our NYE plans. 1) DEFINITELY NOT GOING TO COACHELLA We go through a list of artists who have made recent headlines that indicate that they DEFINITELY NOT playing to Coachella this year. 2) Camp Flog Gnaw 2018 This year marked the third year for the continuously evolving Odd Future festival created and curated by Tyler, The Creator.  Each year growing in size and hype, 2018 marked a new monumentous turning point, when the venue of the festival was announced to be Dodger's Stadium with a setlist of headliners that no other festival could obtain. However, that doesn't mean it didn't bring with it it's own set of controversies.  From Kids See Ghosts, to Jaden Smith's declaration; we break down the biggest controversies of CFG 2018; segweying perfectly into this week's discussion topic, is rap the new punk?  3) What are your NYE plans? As festival season 2018 comes to a satisfying end, we look frowards towards the new year and one of our favorite festivals and ways to ring in the new year, Decadence AZ.  Put on by Relentless Beats and Global Dance, Decadence continues produce one of the best lineups in EDM of the year. This year's event will be headlined by; Above & Beyond, Alison Wonderland, DJ Diesel (Shaq), NGHTMARE, Rezz, Skrillex, Porter Robinson, and so many more. Tune in as host Steven Rhys recaps his most recent experiences at KAABOO Del Mar for the third consecutive year. This episode includes music and interview with rising stars and breakout band Creature Canyon.  Listen as Steven Rhys and the boys discuss their latest performance at KAABOO, their upcoming EP release this October 18th, and some of their inspirations for their new album. Summer is wrapping up, and fall is upon us, which can only mean one thing... it is time to KAABOO (Del Mar)!  This week/episode we look ahead to one of FestHype's favorite and most memorable festival, KAABOO Del Mar; taking place September 14-16 2018 at The Del Mar Racetrack & Fairgrounds (2260 Jimmy Durante Blvd, Del Mar, CA 92014). FestHype and KAABOO go way back, attending all 4 years and covering the past 3.  We feel tremendously connected to KAABOO not only because some of us are from the area, but also feel we have grown and evolved with them over the years. Last year in connection with LiveList we helped promote and put on the official KAABOO live stream.  This year we will be more immersed in the festival, and although there will be no live stream, we plan on bringing you the most in depth coverage of KAABOO possible! On this episode of America’s #1 music festival podcast & radio show, hosts Steven Rhys & Mike Van Dusen recap/review one of the biggest and best music festivals on the scene; Electric Forest.  Which took place on both June 22-25 & June 29-July 2 in Rothbury, Michigan. This was the first year that Electric Forest expanded to two weekends.  In the past, Electric Forest has set a precedent for all other festivals follow. Incorporating a wide range of music and art, all promoting the ideas of peace, love, and awareness;  Electric Forest is truly unlike any other festival in America. Founded originally as Rothbury Music Festival in 2008, Electric Forest has held roots within the festival community for years.  After taking a slight dive in 2010, the festival was then revived by Madison House Productions, now partnered with Insomniac Events, as Electric Forest.  With a heavy focus on jam and electronic music, E. Forest has held a strong ability to constantly attract new fans as well as maintain a solid dedicated fan base. On this episode of America’s #1 music festival podcast & radio show, Steven Rhys explores his most recent experiences at of one of the east coasts’ most redound festival; Firefly Music Festival.  Which took place from June 15-18 at The Dover International Speedway, in Dover, Delaware. It was a special year for Firefly, as this was the first year the festival unveiled it’s new “fan curated” program, which allowed early ticket holders to vote on numerous things from vendors to headlining acts and everything in between. Also new this year, was Firefly’s “cashless” policy, encouraging all attendees to to make payments through credit cards, debit cards, and apps. Things got weird at this year's Firefly.  From discovering human remains outside the fest, to bands openly bashing other festivals on stage; it's safe to say that Firefly saw a unique opportunity this ear, and ran with it.
