** #109 Mosiah 26: Welcome to Insane Peaks ** :: Total Assets $1,000,000 ($38,000,000,000) :: Brother Jones and Sister Patience blaze through a chapter, best described in the Book of Boredom group chat: "Jones and I just read 39 verses of some of the most boring bits of this entire shitty thing. WELL DONE JONES! We're nearly half way thru the BOM!" ~ Patience :: What is this chapter like? :: This chapter is like calling a contact-centre, and being redirected 5 times before the line finally drops, with no solution. This chapter is a bleeding example of the waste inherant in collectivism. This chapter is a game of "Pass the Parcel". This chapter is an example of how to hold a religious inqusition where no one dies. So, "yay!" for "no murder"! That's one small step for Smitty. This chapter mirrors modern day Mormon excommunication practices. Gee, I wonder where they got it from. Smitty just took 2 steps back. :: Other key points: :: Two true stories, where bad ideas from religion resulted in OCD, or OCD-like symptoms. Trump makes his way into 26:25. The church built a MODULAR TEMPLE! Ahaha. Tell your faithful Mormon parents about the Gospel Topic Essays. It's a mitzvah for their brain health! They will cause so much brain activity, that Alzheimers will be staved off by at least a decade! #Reasons to stay home this Sunday# - https://bookofboredom.com/reasons/ #Join the Blasphemy# - https://facebook.com/groups/BookOfBoredom #Patreon (Bonus Episodes)# - https://patreon.com/BookOfBoredom #Twitter# - https://twitter.com/BookOfBoredom #TikTok# - https://tiktok.com/@BookOfBoredomPodcast #Instagram# - https://instagram.com/BookOfBoredomPodcast #YouTube# - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCMjDavWoT73Cev3IAie_XBA #Website# - https://bookofboredom.com/ A nice review on any podcast platform will help frustrate the Heavenly Father's boring plans for your future.
My friends Jeralee Renshaw and Peter Ryan (active Latter-day Saints) talk about a facebook group called Waters of Mormon for Latter-day Saints who need a safe place to process complicated church topics (history, current issues, or difficult experiences). Members of the group are working to stay engaged with the Church. Anthony Miller is widely known across post- and progressive- Mormon internet communities for his thoughtful contributions on faith, spirituality, religion, scripture, and relationships. Anthony has presented at multiple Sunstone Symposium sessions in the past and at this Summer's Thrive Conference where he gave a presentation titled "Growing Beyond Grief" which we hope to feature on a future episode of Mormon Stories / The Gift of the Mormon Faith Crisis. On these episodes with Mormon Stories, we hope to dig deep into Anthony's personal Mormon story including: *What he calls his "literal faith" in the truth claims of the Mormon Church, including using his patriarchal blessing as the literal guidebook for the choices and direction he pursed in life *How his faith began to unravel after he discovered the LDS-published Gospel Topic Essays *How he sought community and healing during his faith crisis, including the founding of a Mormon Spectrum group *How he deconstructed his past beliefs and is reconstructing a sense of spirituality after his faith crisis ....and so much more. We hope our listeners will draw from Anthony's rich experience in learning to navigate a mixed faith marriage, communicating across faith and belief, reconstructing a sense of spirituality after a faith crisis, and creating support communities for people inside and outside the edge of Mormonism.
