Let's start episode 715 of Secrets of Organ Playing Podcast. This question was sent by Ben, and he writes:1. Goal: To play more complex pieces such as Bach D minor "Dorian" toccata and fugue fluently2. Obstacle: Advanced age (76) although I did study organ at ages 15-17 and violin from age 9 and have a good knowledge of music theory.Fortunately now being semi-retired I have time to practice, so help to get back to where I was as a teenager and advance beyond that will be useful. You know I'm all about the "real talk," right? So, here it is: I'm setting a goal for 2025 that's got my stomach in knots. And guess what? You're smack dab in the middle of it. Why am I telling you this? Because every big leap I've taken, every crazy-successful (and let's be honest, some not-so-successful) experiment I've tried... You've been there with me. And this year's goal? It's the biggest yet. The Goal: To transform 1,000 midlife women, corporate drop outs and aspiring entrepreneurs from surviving to thriving through the Aligned AF Community membership. But here's the kicker – I can't do it alone. Nope. This goal is as much about you as it is about me. Here's why: You've told me of your desire to get to $10K months regularly, while not burning the candle at both ends, and everything I've planned is designed to tackle this head-on. We're talking signature offers that generate 80% of your total revenue with 20% effort; strategic freebies to help build your email list of potential clients; and ways to partner and collaborate with other dynamic biz owners that have the same midlife freedom goals as you, and it's going to be a game-changer. But I need to know if I'm on the right track. So, here's where you come in: Your Turn: What's one thing holding you back right now? …a challenge you're facing…a skill you're dying to learn…a fear you can't shake? Hit "Reply" and spill the beans. I'm digging into every response because this goal isn't just about hitting a number; it's about creating real, tangible change for you. This is our year. Let's make it epic. IMAGINE THIS: the ability to go on extended holidays (7 weeks!!!) while your law firm continues to operate flawlessly, isn't merely a luxury, but a well-earned reality you can live. SOUNDS LIKE A DREAM, DOESN'T IT? In today's episode of the Scalable Law podcast, straight from Singapore. We're in for a treat as we have Kristin Porter sharing the inside scoop on how she managed to bask in the sun and travel the globe for 7 incredible weeks while being a law firm owner! We dive into the craft of making yourself an optional piece in your own legal playground, where the play goes on smoothly even when you decide to step off. Stay with us as we reveal the secrets to constructing a legal practice where the systems are solid, the team is self-reliant, and the owner can savour life beyond the firm without a speck of concern about its expansion and productivity! Dive into the world of law firm marketing podcast insights where building a law firm becomes a journey of creating freedom, and facilitating prolonged vacations without a glitch in the firm's progress and success. Kristin's Journey: Kristen established a law firm, O*NO Legal, specializing in a particularly niche area, catering specifically to real estate agents. The inception of the firm dates back around three years and was born out of necessity, primarily concentrating on corporate commercial law to assist real estate agents. She incorporated the use of legal bots for various tasks, including the assessment of data breaches. O*NO Legal was launched amid the lockdown in March 2020, leveraging the newfound comfort that individuals had developed with consulting their advisors online due to the prevailing circumstances. Eventually, Kristen refined her focus further into the real estate domain, zeroing in on lead generation, branding, and fortifying client relationships. This nuanced approach has allowed her to offer specialized services tailored to the unique needs of real estate professionals. Growing O*NO Legal: Key Strategy: The strategy primarily involves a blend of organic and paid marketing, substantially utilising Facebook groups, webinars, collaborations with industry trainers and coaches, and the production of a substantial amount of content. Team Structure: The team is comprised of three core staff lawyers, legal contractors, a graduate who serves as a marketing coordinator, and virtual assistants. Current Status: Kristin isn't managing any files herself; rather, she is supervising and providing cover for leaves to ensure everyone has adequate mental health space. Operational Freedom: Kristin succeeded in taking a seven-week holiday without needing to work, demonstrating the efficacy of her systems and delegation. Approach: A systematic approach and trust in her team afforded her operational freedom. Key Learning: She grasped the significance of refraining from micromanagement and placing trust in the capabilities of her team. Current Focus and Future Goals: Kristin has set her sights on working just four days a week, prioritising her health, and investigating the potential of starting additional businesses. One-year Goal: To entirely extricate herself from any service delivery. Three-year Goal: To prepare the firm for a potential sale, emphasising the creation of a business that doesn't rely solely on her presence. Business Stacking: Since her return, Kristen's aspirations have broadened, with plans to launch additional businesses and a sharpened focus on profit and efficient service delivery. Based on profitability data, she is also exploring further refinement of her niche for optimum efficiency in her services. Caralee's Corner: Kristen's story is a testament to the boundless possibilities within modern, entrepreneurial law practices. It's a vivid illustration of how systems, specialisation, and trust can harmonise to achieve a balanced work-life equation. As a special treat for our listeners, I'm inviting you to my free masterclass, "How to Scale Your Law Firm Without Burnout". A must-attend for all dedicated law firm owners! If you're looking for a tailored strategy or some direct insights, I'm here for you. Book a strategy call with me and let's refine your path to success. Achieving operational freedom needs streamlined systems and processes, effective delegation, and building a dependable team. Niching down isn't a necessity but can streamline processes and marketing strategies. The primary challenges are relinquishing control, empowering the team, and maintaining consistent, high-quality client experiences. By exploring this episode of our law firm marketing podcast, you'll gain profound insights and strategies to transform your law firm into an independent entity, allowing you the freedom to explore life beyond the legal sphere. FAQs about Achieving Operational Freedom in Law Firms: 1. How can law firm owners achieve operational freedom in their practices? Achieving operational freedom involves establishing clear and efficient systems and processes, delegating responsibilities effectively, and building a trustworthy and competent team. Firm owners should focus on creating a business model where the firm can operate smoothly without their constant involvement, allowing them to focus on high-level strategies or take time off without impacting the firm's functioning. 2. Is it necessary to narrow down the practice to gain operational freedom in a law firm? While niching down is not a strict requirement for operational freedom, having a specialised practice can contribute to clearer and more streamlined processes and marketing strategies, making it easier to manage and scale the firm. A specialised or niche practice can also contribute to enhanced reputation and authority in that specific area, attracting more clients and allowing for efficient service delivery. 3. What are the main challenges in creating a law firm that works independently of its owner? The main challenges often revolve around relinquishing control and trusting the team to manage the firm's operations effectively. This involves overcoming the urge to micromanage and creating an environment where the team feels empowered to make decisions. Additionally, establishing and refining efficient systems and processes to ensure seamless operation and maintaining a consistent and high-quality client experience are crucial challenges to address. Goal: To know how to set and be comfortable having coffee/follow ups with Small Group leaders. Why: We want you to be totally comfortable contacting and meeting with small group leaders. It is important to remember that these folks are just like you. They have goals, fears, hurts, insecurities, families, family problems, health concerns and everything else you can imagine.Be confident - Biblical basics: God owns everything, and I am His manager. (Ps. 24:1, Matt. 25:14-30) You are their pastor. You are responsible for their health (2 Cor 5:10)Know the landscape:These are financial, spiritual and emotional issues. Isolation, spiritual void Materialism, 1/3 of those earning over $250k per year live paycheck to paycheck. Business, environment setting their prioritiesPrepare Yourself:Am I living out biblical health in my own life? Do you buy what you sell? 5 purposes Active in my group balancing the purposes Have YOUR own story ready to share.Where do you start:1. Review your group list:a. You may already know some of your SGL as they are very involved as volunteers, but youmay have had no idea who they are. Many of these folks are not well connected, don'tattend a lot of events and may not even be on your radar.b. Start small and grow into the listc. How many engagements can you do?2. Pick some names to begin and learn as much as you can before you meet: Check HC and know family names, ministries, time at Saddleback Zillow their address for where and how they live Goggle them and their company Check LinkedIn, Facebook, IG etc.3. Make the invitation:a. If you know them, simply call, text, or email that you would love to grab a cup of coffeewhen it is convenient for them. If they ask what you want, simply say I just want to spendtime with you and get to know you better. Another line I use is, I like to invest my time withthe folks who are investing in our church. If you don't know them, we have found that having an assistant set up the meeting worksvery well. They can call and simply say the Pastor Dave would like to see if you would gettogether with him for a cup of coffee. Are you available on the 23 rd ?They almost always ask, what does he want or why does he want to meet with us? Thesimplest answer is usually the best. Pastor Dave loves to meet with our members, and hegives me a list to contact, and you are on that list. This seems to take the edge off and Ihave never had a no .b. Pick a place close to them, not you. They may suggest it, or you can, based on theirhome/work geography. Pick a time most convenient for them.c. While I meet mostly with men, very often they ask to bring their wives which is perfect.Obviously if you are just meeting with a woman, you need to bring someone else withyou such as your 101 or worship pastor, someone mature in their faith as well andcomfortable in this environment.d. I often send a text confirming the time and placee. Meet them and be on time!! (Early is even better):4. Relax and enjoy the conversation: Don't be intimidated, pretend you've been in the end zonebefore! They want to be treated like regular people and have a lot of the same problems and issues, plus some that others don't have. There is no need to make it awkward, in fact, start withtheir story. Share the vision for the church, Groups and your excitement and enthusiasm will becontagious. We do not need to ask for anything! We just need to Pastor people.5. Initiating Conversations, Discipling is relational, be their Pastor. Here are some easy open-ended questions: Tell me your story. How did you come to Saddleback? Tell me about your family. Tell me about your work/company? What are your passions, hobbies, dreams? How is God growing and stretching you? Which areas of your life are easiest to put God first, and which are hardest? What do you think God is working on in your life?6. Wrap up questions: Is there anything we can be doing better at Saddleback to support you and yourfamily? How can I be praying for you?7. Offer to pay – but 9 out of 10 times, the member will treat you .8. Always send a follow up text or note thanking them for their time and for treating you tocoffee/breakfast and telling them that you will be praying for what ever they asked for prayersfor.9. Thank them for making an earthly and eternal difference.10. A couple Don'ts:1. If they are group leaders with means, never ask for anything for yourself. These folks havemany assets, vacation homes, boats etc.2. Don't forget to follow up on anything they mentioned. Something you said you would sendthem or someone you promised to introduce them to.3. Don't make a commitment that you may not be able to keep such as get Andy to attendtheir kid's 1 st birthday party .4. Don't start on your agenda (hard data) but their agenda (soft data) ★ Support this podcast ★

Welcome to The Nonlinear Library, where we use Text-to-Speech software to convert the best writing from the Rationalist and EA communities into audio. This is: Wanted: Technical animator and/or front-end developer for interactive diagrams of invention, published by jasoncrawford on February 8, 2023 on LessWrong. Seeking help for a project to create interactive diagrams—an “explorable explanation”—of the history of the steam engine. Goal: To allow readers to explore the early evolution of one of the most impactful technologies in human history. Content: The content will come from Anton Howes's extensive research uncovering the origins of the steam engine (parts 1, 2, and 3). We envision it covering precursors like the perpetual motion machine of Cornelis Drebbel, early thermometers and barometers, seventeenth-century experiments on atmospheric pressure, precursor devices like those shown by Salomon de Caus, our best guesses of the Kalthoff/Petty engine, the Savery engine, and the Newcomen engine and its improvements. (After this initial phase, we would then want to expand it to include the improvements by James Watt, and the rise of the high-pressure engine, with its various nineteenth-century improvements.) This page on the steam engine may serve as a start for eventually creating the definitive online and interactive reference work on the history of technology, informed by the latest expert research. Format: We have been greatly inspired by the works of Bartosz Ciechanowski, such as his mechanical watch and internal combustion engine explanations. We're looking to create something like this. Here are more examples of locomotive valves. The team: Anton Howes as researcher/writer, me (Jason Crawford) as editor/producer, you as animator/developer. Your input: We'll provide the written essay and some sketches and ideas for what diagrams we should create and how they should work. Your deliverables: The code and/or other files to implement a set of interactive and/or animated technical diagrams. You: A technical illustrator, animator, and/or front-end developer, or a team, who can deliver this. Must have a portfolio of relevant work to demonstrate your abilities. The ideal candidate will have an interest in engineering, invention, and the history of technology. How to apply: Email explorables@rootsofprogress.org with a description of your skills and examples of your work. We have budget for this project and are willing to pay market rates for high-quality work. Thanks for listening. Let's welcome the New Year with a series on Clarity. We're talking about the limiting belief "I don't know what I want" in the next few episodes to give you a few things to consider as you walk into the new year. Steph George joins this episode of the pod to discuss: people pleasing, the role of trust in doing what's best for you, the most memorable decisions she made that went against what she truly wanted, the importance of listening to your inner voice, what her inner voice sounds like, and how she realized that wanting to do something is enough of a reason to act on it. A clarity exercise you can do if it resonates with you: Goal - To acquaint yourself with your inner voice. write out 1-3 personal questions you want clarity on, go somewhere quiet and ask yourself one question at a time, listen to the answer originating from the most honest part of yourself and DON'T IGNORE IT! Note - it may appear very subtly. If nothing comes up, that's OK! We're human and don't have all the answers, but continue to make an effort to listen to yourself in every area of life. You can also try talking through the answer to your question outloud with a friend. Feel free to DM me if you want to talk through it. This is a no pressure excercise :) Reframe We're reframing "I don't know what I want" to "I have the ability to know what I want and I also know what is right for me" Connect with us! stephaniageorge.com @kyriafemme @ipwomanpodcast ipwomanpodcast.com @lauren.e.will

GOAL: To read all stories from this title Märchen und Erzählungen Heft 1. I highly recommend this reader for learners of German. This story comes from a German reader for beginners. Really, it for the elementary level and specifically if you have a basic knowledge of German. It is repetitive in the sense that one reads the same and nearly the same sentences multiple times throughout the story. Take a look at it for yourself. https://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/35794 Please tip me a quarter: PayPal.me/travelingcello #German #Deutsch #maerchenerzaehlungen #learnlanguage #reader --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/slowbydesigns/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/slowbydesigns/support

I'm proud of you. I love you'….and even at 52 years old, hearing my 77 year old dad say that to me even now is so empowering [and] so transformative. And so, I think for me, one thing I would say is dads need to not be afraid, not be hesitant in a healthy way of being vulnerable in front of your kids, because what that shows is that you're not stronger than the creator of the universe...we do a disservice to our kids if we lead them to believe that we can live well without God.” 7:21 - Episode 160 - Phil Comer - The concept of "the box" from the book Raising Passionate Jesus Followers [NEED LINK] – Jesus is the foundation, then there is discipline, encouragement, the rod of correction, order. The top is affection, affirmation and fun. Men are Made. (Chris Bruno) - Unpacking the fatherlessness epidemic - Malachi verse - hearts of kids returning to fathers. "God's final warning is serious and dire. In essence the welfare of society rests on intentional fathers. Father well, God says, and the world will be blessed. Father poorly, and the world crumbles. It's really that big." 12:03 - Win the Day by Mark Batterson - daily rhythms for winning the day. Quote from the book, "My father had, to a marvelous degree, the gift of opening doors for his children, of leading them into areas of splendid newness. This surely is the most valuable legacy we can pass on to the next generation. Not money, not houses, or heirlooms, but a capacity for wonder and gratitude, a sense of aliveness and joy." - Quoting Arthur Gordan 14:39 - Business Made Simple by Donald Miller - includes 60 free videos with his book. 14:52 - Autobiography of George Mueller - A man of faith who built orphanages in the UK filled with stories of miracle provision. 15:25 - Walking with God by John Eldredge Conversation Links: Register for FATHERS FOR THE FATHERLESS Make a Donation to dadAWESOME Join the dadAWESOME Prayer Team

HAPPY MONDAY MOTIVATION! Welcome back to the weekly podcast, No More Excuses! Thank you for listening, mentioning this podcast with others, sharing it on your social... much like my guest on this week podcast regularly does! But mostly for investing in YOU! We all, at some point in our lives have used EXCUSES for WHY we stopped, quit, gave up and "used to [fill in the blank]" and also blamed family, weather, time, money and many MANY other things. And, in last week's podcast, I shared an excerpt from my 2nd book, "How Badly Do You Want 'IT'?" and also, in my social media, gave you the link to download it! And, that's what you have to decide... How Badly Do You Want... "IT". Whatever IT is to you. How badly do you want to SUCCEED? To achieve a GOAL? To get that promotion? Lose weight? Run a marathon? Start a business? Increase sales... etc. etc.... RIGHT? It's easy to NOT change things up and give up! It's easier to find excuses as to WHY and much easier to blame than own it and try again! This week's podcast is also a VIDEO interview [click blue link to go to Youtube!] that I did with long-time listener, Nikki, who, as she said, "learned how to MOVE OVER her excuses and turned them into reasons, and didn't give up"! She connected with me on Instagram and I've followed her back. I've watched HER journey. And, when she stepped away from her side-gig, she didn't give any of that bullshit. She just stepped away. And, when she came back, she gave NO EXCUSES! She was honest, discussed her REASON and, well, you'll have to listen in as to what happened and what helped her return! We also could have stopped the interview or not done it as a video because of the "weather" and "her internet went down", but, as you listen or watch it, you'll see that she, once again, did NOT use excuses, blame and bullshit, she got back on and we had a great conversation! She turned her excuses into reasons in her life, business... and this interview! So, listen or watch this week's podcast, and then watch social media for this week's challenge... FROM NIKKI! And, if you'd like to follow her on Instagram: @Nikkalicousfitness Have a great week and I look forward to hearing from you! Cheers! Sandi
