Assim que era colocado na bancada, ele se sentava, olhava-me com olhos assustados e se preparava para o colírio. “Bom menino”, eu murmurava. Embora ele não entendesse o que eu fazia, ele nunca pulou, rosnou ou me arranhou. Em vez disso, buscava o conforto encostando-se em mim. Ele sabia em quem podia confiar. Ao escrever o Salmo 9, Davi provavelmente já havia experimentado muito do amor e da fidelidade de Deus. Davi voltou-se para Deus buscando proteção contra os seus inimigos, e o Senhor agiu a seu favor (vv.3-6). Durante os momentos de necessidade de Davi, Deus não falhou com ele. Resultante disso, Davi soube como o Senhor era: poderoso e justo, amoroso e fiel. E portanto, Davi confiou em Deus, reconhecendo que Ele era confiável. Cuidei do Mickey em suas várias doenças desde quando o encontrei como um gatinho miúdo e faminto na rua. Ele sabe que pode confiar em mim, mesmo quando faço coisas que ele não entende. De maneira semelhante, lembrarmo-nos da fidelidade de Deus para conosco e do Seu caráter nos ajuda a confiar nele quando não conseguimos entender o que o Senhor está fazendo.
