What impression is made upon the minds of those men of the-world who, occasionally, attend a Gospel service-- What are the conceptions formed by those who hear even those preachers who are counted as -orthodox--- Is it not that a disappointed God is the One whom Christians believe in-- From what is heard from the average-evangelist today, is not any serious hearer obliged to conclude that he professes to represent a God who is filled with benevolent-intentions, yet unable to carry them out- that He is earnestly desirous of blessing men, but that they will not let Him-- Then, must not-the average hearer draw the inference that the Devil has gained the upper hand, and that God is to be pitied rather than blamed--

A very good morning to you! It is Sunday morning, the 26th of June 2022, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today.“And they were not able to resist the wisdom and the Spirit by which he spoke.”Acts 6:10And then down to verse 15:“And all who sat in the council, looking steadfastly at him, saw his face as the face of an angel.”That was Stephen, the waiter. People are not interested in what we say. They want to hear what Jesus says. Do you remember the old hymn? The first verse goes like this: All of me and none of Him Then the second verse goes: Some of me and some of Him And then the third verse: All of Him and none of me.It's Bible scripture that sets the captives free, it is not William Shakespeare. It is not Sigmund Freud, no - It is the spoken word of God! That was exactly what Stephen was doing. Remember, Stephen was the first martyr in the Bible. People are starving for God's word in these last days. We must keep it simple... Remember educators complicate, and communicators, simplify.Stephen was a waiter. That's all he was and yet he spoke the word of God and he mesmerized the people with all the answers to life that they were looking for. You see, it is all in the Book, that's right! Healing, family, business... All the answers are there and they are very simple, that is why the devil is trying so hard to stamp out the reading of the Bible. He does not want us to quote Jesus. Ephesians 6:17 in the Bible tells us that the sword of the Spirit is the word of God. It is the only weapon that the Christian has. Many of us have got to get it out of the scabbard. It is rusty. It's blunt. We need to sharpen it up and when the devil comes at us with accusations, we return his accusations with the word of God - that defeats him every time. That is exactly what Jesus did when He was tempted in the desert. That young evangelist, Billy Graham, when he was starting out, preached a simple message. Once, he went out into the forest in the evening. He opened up his Bible, put it on a stump, a tree stump and he got down on his knees and said, “Lord, I don't understand everything in this Book but I am choosing by faith to believe every word.” And then he went out and he changed the world. Do it today, be a waiter for Jesus and the glory of God will shine through you! God bless you and have a wonderful Sunday!Goodbye.

Scripture For Today:3 John 1:2“Dear friend, I pray that you may enjoy good health and that all may go well with you, even as your soul is getting along well.”Using Your Prayers Like A Sniper Uses a Bullet pt 2Yesterday, I opened a discussion about “Using your prayers like a sniper uses a bullet.” Some may have thought it was a bit “morbid” or “inappropriate” to discuss shooting and killing someone on a ministry related program. My response, “Get over yourself.” The fact is, we are at war. War is brutal. War is fatal. War involves killing or incapacitating your enemy BEFORE he does so to you! General George S. Patton, Jr. once said, “Your job is NOT to die for your country! Oh, no… Your job is to make the other guy DIE for HIS country!” The Apostle Paul wrote in 1 Corinthians 10:3-5, “Though we walk IN the flesh, we are not waging WAR according to the flesh….”  What Paul is saying here, is that we do not fight with armor. We do not fight with politics. We don't fight with money. We don't fight with all of the “humanistic” ways – the petty games – that unbelievers mess with. Then, Paul goes on to say, “…The weapons of OUR WARFARE are not of the flesh, but have divine power to DESTROY STRONGHOLDS. We destroy the arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take EVERY THOUGHT CAPTIVE in order to obey Christ.”  AMEN! When we “entertain thoughts” that are contrary to the Bible, we run the risk of allowing those thoughts to remain IN our minds. On once they take up residence there, they have legal authority to stay. They have legal authority to continually talk to our minds. They have legal authority to allow worldly points of view to become dominant in our minds.  And this often leads to discontentment. This often leads us AWAY from the Gospel and TOWARDS the world's point of view on various subjects. Don't believe me? Listen to what Paul said in Romans 7, verses 19 and 24… “I do not do, the good I want to do, but the evil that I do not want is what I keep on doing…Oh what a wretched man I am.” The fact is, the reason we have so many weak Christians is because we do not know how to control our minds using the Gospel. Period! And, this all falls back on us – the ministers of the Gospel. It's our fault this nation is in the precarious position it is in right now. Because the preachers were more concerned with filling seats (and their offering plates) than they were with the souls of the community. Ok – I'm not going to get off on that tangent. You've heard me teach on this before… But, let me close with this… If you are having an issue – any issue – that is contrary to what the Bible says belongs to you (healing, finances, loved ones, etc.) – then YOU need to get that thought demon out of your mind and out of your heart.  And you can't do that with flowery little prayers that sound so ‘cute.'  No, you need to find ONE SCRIPTURE that references how you are supposed to think; how you are supposed to act. ONE scripture that could be similar to your – and LIFT THAT TO THE LORD IN PRAYER… THEN – once you tell the Lord this scripture belongs to YOU as a promise from HIM… THEN, you take aim at that demon and let the Word of God become ALIVE on the inside of you and you let that word “destroy the stronghold” within your mind and heart. That is using your prayer like a sniper uses a bullet!  That one little demon that has been harassing you in your own mind – will either duck for cover and retreat – or take the full on BLAST OF HOLY GHOST POWER through your prayer! I know, I know. I'm over time again today.  Let's take it up here again tomorrow. Let's Pray! Friday 4th December 2020 Hello and a lovely Friday to you in the name of Jesus. We are still talking about The Power of Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving has the power to change things and make things happen for us. We will read today from the book of John 11: 39 - 44 (NLT) 39 “Roll the stone aside,” Jesus told them. But Martha, the dead man's sister, protested, “Lord, he has been dead for four days. The smell will be terrible.” 40 Jesus responded, “Didn't I tell you that you would see God's glory if you believe?” 41 So they rolled the stone aside. Then Jesus looked up to heaven and said, “Father, thank you for hearing me. 42 You always hear me, but I said it out loud for the sake of all these people standing here, so that they will believe you sent me.” 43 Then Jesus shouted, “Lazarus, come out!” 44 And the dead man came out, his hands and feet bound in graveclothes, his face wrapped in a headcloth. Jesus told them, “Unwrap him and let him go!” Even in the face of death, the power of thanksgiving can change things. This year 2020 has been a challenging year in so many ways; death, losses and all sorts of painful thing has happened. And as we move gradually to the end of this year, it is easy to say, just like Martha did, “we give up” It's easy to say “let's shut everything down” and just go out in pain, sorrow”. But, in the face of all that, Jesus said “don't shut down the thing yet, open it up, roll away the stone, a miracle can still happen. The lady, Martha said “Lord, it's already a dead issue. He's been dead for 4 days”. You too might have said "things have been so bad in the last 4 weeks, 4 months, 4years; or the last quarter of the year has been so bad". In spite of that Jesus said, “open it up again and if you believe, you will see the glory of God”. What did God do afterwards? When they gave him a chance by opening up the grave (situation), what did Jesus do? He looked up and said “Father, I thank you!” He didn't say; “why did this happen, this is so challenging; I'm looking like a disgraced person right now; oh God, this is my friend, You shouldn't have allowed this happen”. No, Jesus didn't say that; he just looked up and said “Father, I thank you!” After appreciating God, he now looked at the problem and addressed it. Why? Thanksgiving had released power from God and Jesus now channelled it to the situation. Guess what? The dead situation turned around and life came forth. If you can truly, from the depth of your heart, focus on God and thank him for everything that has happened; in this past year and praise Him Then with power and gratitude in your heart from thanksgiving, you begin to speak to situations. You will see how God's power will turn things around for you. Remember what Jesus said to Martha; He said “if you believe, you will see the glory of God”. I believe you will see glory of God! No matter how bad things are, let's put thanksgiving in our heart, trust God and watch Him do mighty things in our lives. God bless you and have a lovely weekend.

June 18 God Himself Shall Work Now will I rise, saith the Lord; now will I be exalted; now will I lift up myself. (Isaiah 33:10)  When the spoilers had made the land as waste as if devoured by locusts, and the warriors who had defended the country sat down and wept like women, then the Lord came to the rescue. When travelers ceased from the roads to Zion, and Bashan and Carmel were as vineyards from which the fruit has failed, then the Lord arose. God is exalted in the midst of an afflicted people, for they seek His face and trust Him. He is still more exalted when in answer to their cries He lifts up Himself to deliver them and overthrow their enemies. Is it a day of sorrow with us? Let us expect to see the Lord glorified in our deliverance. Are we drawn out in fervent prayer? Do we cry day and night unto Him? Then the set time for His grace is near. God will lift up Himself at the right season. He will arise when it will be most for the display of His glory. We wish for His glory more than we long for our own deliverance. Let the Lord be exalted, and our chief desire is obtained. Lord, help us in such a way that we may see that Thou Thyself art working. May we magnify Thee in our inmost souls. Make all around us to see how good and great a God Thou art.
