A man, sick with a disease, surrounded himself with friends that would stop at nothing to get their friend healed. We need to imitate this example.

Something that has powerfully moved your heart like the trees in the wind. Where you feel your heart throbbing because of it? Did you notice that it goes even further than that where it grows and intensifies? Then it gives birth to a potent message within that must come out. Many times this happens to me because of something I see or hear. Something that moves me out of the shadows of the norm, and into the bright sunlight of bravery and courage to arise and say the message. There is an other-worldly fearlessness that enters in. The message is always alive bursting out of my heart where the King sits enthroned. It is His message and it is from His own heart to mine. It is what He sees and hears. The word is a given word and it is spoken in a quickening, fearless way with a sharpness "like the clear heat upon the herbs." As soon as the word is spoken there are many that do not like it. They hate the spiritually bright sunlight power of the message and quickly scorn it. They are like Michal King David's wife. "When the ark of the Lord came into the city of David, Michal Saul's daughter looked through a window, and saw king David leaping and dancing before the Lord; and she despised him in her heart." 2 Samuel 6:16.People will despise you in their hearts when you are full of the power of the Holy Spirit and give messages from Jesus Christ. King David's sword-like reply to her was that he would go on doing it even more because God called Him to be the leader of Israel. She wound up being barren unto the day of her death. There is a difference between stirred up hearts for the Lord and those that are despisers in heart. One goes on living in the power of the endless life, while the other lives on in deathly barrenness. "I implore you, be afraid of nothing so much as of this false fear - this foolish, worldly wisdom that hesitates between God and self, between vice and virtue, between gratitude and ingratitude, between life and death."- Fenelon

Send us a textWhat happens when pride leads us to reject God's standards? In this illuminating episode of Devotions with Dr. Papa, we dive deep into the biblical account of history's first siblings and humanity's first murder. Drawing from Genesis 4:2-5, Dr. Jackson expertly unravels the profound spiritual lessons hidden within this ancient story that remain startlingly relevant today. Why did God accept Abel's offering but reject Cain's? The answer transcends their occupations as shepherd and farmer. Abel, described as both "righteous" and a "prophet" by Jesus himself, offered his sacrifice in faith and obedience. Meanwhile, Cain—whom Scripture identifies as "of the wicked one"—rebelliously presented what he wanted to give rather than what God required. This fundamental difference reveals the true condition of their hearts and foreshadows the tragic consequences that would follow.Dr. Papa masterfully connects this ancient narrative to our modern spiritual struggles, highlighting how pride—thinking our way is better than God's way—lies at the root of all sin. Through a compelling personal story about confronting a friend caught in infidelity, he demonstrates the stark contrast between responding to truth with humble repentance versus Cain's path of anger and resentment. The lesson becomes crystal clear: "A wise man receives the rebuke of a friend, but a foolish man, a proud man like Cain, does not."This episode reminds us that our hope must be built on "nothing less than Jesus' blood and righteousness" and that God rejects our man-made substitutes for salvation just as He rejected Cain's offering. Whether you're struggling with pride, facing difficult truth in your life, or simply seeking deeper biblical understanding, this powerful teaching offers timeless wisdom for your spiritual journey. Listen now and discover what it truly means to approach God on His terms, not our own.Support the showhttps://www.jacksonfamilyministry.comhttps://bobslone.com/home/podcast-production/

We can learn some valuable things from a man sick with leprosy. Today, we are looking at Mark 1:40-45, and Jesus' healing of a leper.
Get off the bench and into the game!
One thing we see throughout the Gospels is that Jesus took time to be alone with the Father in prayer. Jesus spent countless hours ministering to the people in Israel, but He also always took time for prayer. By spending time in prayer, we not only draw close to God, but we have an understanding of our calling. When was the last time you prayed?
With God’s help, be grace-ful in all you say and do today.
Paul Cooks helps us think with wisdom and discernment about the imprecatory psalms as we look at Psalm 83 today. Devotionables #813 - Can I Pray This Prayer? Psalm 83 The PsalmsDevotionables is a ministry of The Ninth & O Baptist Church in Louisville, KY. naobc.org
Mark 1:29-34, we see Jesus entering the house of Simon, and finding our his mother in law is sick in bed. Jesus heals her sickness, and immediately she serves them. Later, all the town brings those that are sick and demon possessed to Jesus for healing. It may be your prayer that brings healing to your loved one. Who do you need to pray for today?
“Make every effort” to transform disunity into unity in the Spirit.
Assess the impact of your life’s witness on those around you.

Jesus entered the synagogue and taught as one who had authority is what we read in Mark 1:21-22z and the people were astonished because He taught better than the scribes the people were used to. Why is that? Because Jesus knew the Scriptures and knew the message God had given Him. We need to follow the leading of God when we tell others about Jesus. If God calls you to share your faith with someone, then God will give you the words to say. Your part is to be obedient.

Matthew 24:3-4.The first thing Jesus was straightly clear about was, "Take heed that no man deceive you." That is the first command we strongly lay hold of because deception comes through lying. Lying is the language of the devil. He lied first to Eve in the Garden that cost both her and Adam their lives. That lie murdered their spirits and set the course for the perpetual lie that is still claiming lives for all eternity.Jesus said of him in John 8:44, "He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it." Lies lead people down dark paths that lead to eternal spiritual death.Just yesterday the president and those under him blatantly lied to all the people of this nation. That lie covered up the truth that demanded hard handed judicial accountability. We see that "truth has fallen" like a slain man in the streets of this nation. There now stands a monument in this land to an egregious miscarriage of justice for the innocents. The devil knows the nature and depravity of man when he answered the Lord saying, "Yea, Skin for skin, yea, all that a man hath will he give for his life.” Job 2:6, and that is exactly what shamefully happened.Jesus Christ is the King of Truth and Light. "There is no shadow of His turning." There is no lie, no cover up, no "rocks and mountains to hide from the face of Jesus Christ." "But we with open face do behold the glory of the Lord," and we walk in the light of His truth and put all confidence and hope in Him who is the God of all Truth."It is not the man decked out in morality or philosophical virtues who will repel a full charge of temptation sent from Satan's cannon; it is the man suited up in armor – that is, in Christ." - William Gurnall

Thought to share? Send me a text..."Do you love me more than these?" The question hangs in the air between Jesus and Peter, standing by a charcoal fire on the shores of Galilee—the same type of fire where Peter had denied his Lord three times. This isn't a coincidence but a divine appointment for healing and restoration. The final chapter of John serves as a powerful epilogue where loose ends are tied together concluding with Jesus addressing our tendency toward comparison. When Peter asks about John's fate, Jesus redirects: "What is that to you? You follow me!" It's a powerful reminder that we each have our unique journey with Christ. Take time today to ponder: Where might Jesus be asking you to cast your nets differently? How is he inviting you to bring what you have and join his work? Send us a textHave you ever wondered about the mysterious "us" God refers to in Genesis? Or why Adam and Eve were really banished from Eden? Dr. Papa tackles these profound questions and more in this eye-opening exploration of Genesis 3:22-24.Diving deep into scripture, Dr. Papa reveals how the Trinity—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—was present from the very beginning of creation. Through connections to passages in John, Colossians, and Hebrews, we discover Jesus as the living Word who was with God before time began. Perhaps most comforting is the revelation that Christ's sacrifice wasn't a divine afterthought or emergency response to human failure. "Jesus on the cross was not plan B," Dr. Papa explains. "He was slain before the foundation of the world." This powerful truth helps us understand God's perfect sovereignty—there are truly "no oopsies with God."The episode also illuminates God's mercy in the garden banishment. By preventing access to the tree of life, God actually protected humanity from an eternal existence trapped in sin. Dr. Papa draws a fascinating parallel between very elderly patients who know the Lord and those who don't: believers look forward to eternity with Christ while non-believers desperately cling to this life, having no hope beyond it. Through this lens, even difficult passages like the garden expulsion reveal God's compassion and foresight.Sin's fundamental problem—separation from God and others—remains our greatest challenge today. Yet Christ bridges this gap, offering reconciliation freely to all who accept it through faith. While we can't return to Eden, we can walk hand-in-hand with Jesus, experiencing the relationship Adam and Eve lost.Subscribe to Devotions with Dr. Papa for more scriptural insights, and join us next week as we begin exploring Genesis chapter 4!Support the showhttps://www.jacksonfamilyministry.comhttps://bobslone.com/home/podcast-production/
