I greet you in Jesus' precious name! It is Monday morning, the 20th April , 2026, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today. We start in the Book of Acts 12:18:”Then, as soon as it was day, there was no small stir among the soldiers about what had become of Peter.“ Now, folks, I want you to understand something. If you cannot believe in miracles, then you cannot believe the Bible because I'm going to show you a miracle that is unbelievably miraculous. It cannot be explained. If you read Chapter 12 of the Book of Acts, you'll see that Peter the Apostle was arrested by Herod's soldiers and put in prison. Four squads of soldiers were there to keep him from escaping because they were going to kill him after the Passover. He was bound with two chains between two soldiers and the guards before the door were keeping the prison. He was sleeping, and he had a soldier on either side, and he was in chains. Then the angel of the Lord came into the prison and literally set Peter free. When they were past the first and second guard posts, they came to an iron gate that led to the city. It was open to them of it's own accord supernaturally, and it caused no small stir because the next day the guards couldn't find him, he was gone.Folks, I believe in miracles! Wherever Jesus walked on this earth, He caused either a riot or a revival, but nothing in between. Just a few days ago, I met a young man at the airport. His name is Dean. I said, ”Dean, where are you going?” He said,” I'm going to Cape Town.” I said,” Why?” He said, ”Because I'm sick and I have to go to the specialist in Cape Town to see if they can heal me.” So I said, ”Do you believe in miracles?” Of course he did. I prayed for him in the departure lounge, I laid my hands on him and I prayed that God would heal him.Well, not two, three days later, I got a message to say that he has just got a report from the doctors in Cape Town. There is absolutely nothing wrong with him. He is completely healed and he can go home. That is a miracle! Trust Jesus today for your miracle. I want to pray for you: Father, I pray in Jesus name that the person who is listening to this message will claim their healing, their miracle. Be healed in Jesus name, amen.God bless you and have a wonderful day. Goodbye.

I greet you in Jesus' precious name! It is Sunday morning, the 19th of April, 2026 and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today. We start in the Old Testament, in the Book of Numbers 32:32: ”We will cross over armed before the Lord into the land of Canaan, but the possession of our inheritance shall remain with us on this side of the Jordan.” Now the situation was, as they were going to go across into the land of milk and honey, the Children of Israel, there were two and a half tribes that asked Moses if they could remain on the other side of the Jordan, because they were cattlemen and they were shepherds, and the land was good and the grass was good and they didn't want to go across. So Moses sought counsel from the Lord. The Lord said, ”Yes, they can stay there, but first they have an obligation, they have a responsibility, they need to go with all the other tribes across the River Jordan and fight and defeat the enemy, and then when the battle has been won they can return back, to the other side of the Jordan, and that's when they can have their inheritance.”Then we go to the New Testament, 1 Timothy 5:8. The Lord says: “But if anyone does not provide for his own, and especially for those of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.” We've got to get things right first at home before we try and help anybody else. We've got to take care of our wives, our children, and our husbands before we go to the mission fields, as it were. What happened with those two and a half tribes, the tribe of Rueben, Dan and Manasseh, they were very happy to stay back. Moses said, ”Okay but you must fulfil your obligation. First, you must help your family get established across the river, then you can return. You know what is very sad for me, and I am in full-time ministry, is when I hear of young people that get so excited, they meet Jesus, now they want to serve the Lord and they want to save the world, and that's wonderful. That passion is very exciting, I was one of them, but the Lord says, before you do that, you make sure your young wife, your husband, your children are well equipped and taken care of and then you can fulfil the calling of God on your life. There's nowhere in the Bible that you can show me where the Lord says, ”Leave everything you have and your responsibility and obligations and go to the mission field.” Get your house in order first, and then by all means, preach the Gospel with all of your heart.Jesus bless you and have a wonderful day. Goodbye.

I greet you in Jesus' precious name! It is Saturday morning, the 18th of April, 2026, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today. We start in the Book of Exodus 19:3: “And Moses went up to God, and the Lord called to him from the mountain, saying, “Thus you shall say to the house of Jacob, and tell the children of Israel.” Moses went up the mountain to hear from God. Then we go to the Gospel of Luke 6:12: “Now it came to pass in those days that He (that's Jesus) went out to the mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God.” People often ask me, “How do we hear from God?” It's a good question. Jesus went up the mountain and spent the whole night in prayer so that He could hear a word from His Heavenly Father. Moses did the same. He went up Mount Sinai to hear the word from God. That is how you hear from God. First of all, by getting up early in the morning. There is an old saying, I will never forget it, it goes like this: “First the mountain and then the ministry” - not the other way around. When we talk about the mountain, we are not talking about 5 minutes or while you are driving to work, ladies, to drop the children off at school, or gentlemen, while you are on your way to work. No, that's not a quiet time. That is not hearing from God. We need to spend time in the presence of God, not for five minutes. This is how we hear from God: We read our Bibles systematically, every single morning. If you are not in that habit, I would encourage you to start in the Book of Psalms. Read a portion of each psalm, every single morning, starting from Psalm Number 1. Then go straight into the New Testament, start in the Gospel of John, and start reading five or ten verses every day. Then get your little notebook and write what God has said to you. There is no abracadabra, there is no magical way of doing it. If you want to hear from God, you have to spend time with God, reading your Bible every single day, meditating and praying. Give Him time so He can speak to you.Quieten your spirit down so that you can hear, and then God will speak to you every single day. Jesus bless you and have a wonderful day.Goodbye.

I greet you in Jesus' precious name! It is Friday morning, the 17th of April, 2026, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today. We go to the Gospel of Matthew 28:20, and this is Jesus speaking: “…and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.” Isn't that a beautiful promise for you today? The Lord says, “all the days”.F B Meyer, that wonderful man of God, wrote a beautiful little passage, and this is what he says: “All the days” He says: “in winter days, when joys are fled; in sunless days, when the clouds return again and again after rain; in days of sickness and pain; in days of temptation and perplexity, as much as in days when the heart is as full of joy as the woodlands in spring are full of song. That day never comes when the Lord Jesus is not at the side of His saints, (that's you and me!) Lover and friend may stand afar, but He walks with them through the fires; He fords with them the rivers; He stands by them when face to face with the lion. We can never be alone. We must always add His resources to our own when making our calculations.”Jesus will never leave us and He will never forsake us. We know that scripture, don't we? It is found in Hebrews 13:5, and that is good news, so we can indeed do all things through Christ Jesus who strengthens us! (Philippians 4:13)Jesus bless you and have a wonderful day,Goodbye.

I greet you in Jesus' precious name! It is Thursday morning, the 16th of April, 2026, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today. We start in the Book of Romans 10:12-13: “For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him. For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” The Lord has no favourites. I have already told you that before. There is a most beautiful song, and it is called “Who am I?” by Casting Crowns, and these are the words. I want to read them to you this morning, and then I am going to pray for you because I feel that there is somebody there who feels that they are a failure, that there is no hope for them, that they have messed up and that this is the end of the road. Not at all! It is a lie from the pit of hell. Listen to these words:Who am I, that the Lord of all the earth would care to know my name?Would care to feel my hurt?Who am I, that the bright and morning star would choose to light the wayFor my ever-wandering heart? Not because of who I amBut because of what you've doneNot because of what I've doneBut because of who you areI am a flower quickly fadingHere today and gone tomorrowA wave tossed in the ocean A vapour in the windStill you hear me when I'm callingLord, you catch me when I'm fallingAnd you've told me who I amI am yours…And it goes on but that is enough. Father, I want to pray for my dear friends today. Lord, there are many listening to this message - who have thrown the towel in, who are down and out - no, not at all. Stand up, woman of God, stand up, man of God. Lord, please today remind them that You love them, just because of who they are, and Lord, we repent today of anything we have done to offend You, to hurt You. Lord, we love You, we ask You to come back into our hearts afresh this very morning. I ask this in Jesus' name, amen.Have a wonderful, blessed day and remember you are so very special to God.Goodbye.

I greet you in Jesus' precious name! It is Wednesday morning, the 15th of April, 2026, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today. We go to the Gospel of Matthew 26:40. This is Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane: “Then He came to the disciples and found them sleeping, and said to Peter, “What! Could you not watch with Me one hour?” How much time are you and I spending in prayer at the moment? Jesus was in the Garden of Gethsemane, it was the most testing time of His life on earth. He was sweating drops of blood. He was stressing out so much, full of fear and anxiety. He was God, but He was a man too, and He asked the disciples just to pray with Him and He came back and they were sleeping. “Could you not watch with Me one hour?” Folks, we need to really sharpen up on our prayer life. E. M. Bounce was a great man of God. He lived in the 1800's, but most of all, he wrote books on prayer. He was a prayer warrior. This is what E. M. Bounce said, and I am going to say it slowly because it is very important that you hear this. He said, and I quote: “He who does not pray therefore robs himself of God's help and power.” It is not God who is suffering, it is us. You see, when you pray, God speaks to you, and He gives you direction. Martin Luther, who was responsible for introducing us to grace - “and the just shall live by faith” - grace through faith, Romans 1:17 impacted his life, Luther said when they asked him, “What do you do when you get really busy? Do you cut back on your quiet time in the morning?” “No”, he said, “I get up earlier.” There is no excuse.Sir, I want to tell you, spend less time preparing your sermon and more time in prayer. That is what I am doing in my latter years because many a time I have got up on the platform to preach, and as I get up on the platform, the Lord says to me, almost audibly, “I don't want you to tell them about the subject of whatever it might be, I want you to change your message, and I want you to speak about something totally different.” That normally works out to be one of the best messages I have preached. We need to pray! Remember what we always say? When men work, they work, but when men pray, God works. And by the way, ladies, I am not talking about men only. Matthew Henry wrote the most extensive book, a commentary on the Bible, 6 volumes, but he was a man who used to get up at 4 a.m., and he worked on that commentary book for 8 hours a day, and he died at 51 years old. Today, spend more time in prayer and less time speaking. Jesus bless you and goodbye.

I greet you in Jesus' precious name! It is Tuesday morning, the 14th of April, 2026, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today. We go to the Book of Acts 10:41. This is Peter talking. He says:”…not to all the people, but to witnesses chosen before by God, even to us who ate and drank with Him after He arose from the dead.” Peter, telling the people that after Jesus Christ had risen (we have just celebrated Easter Sunday not so long ago), he said, “We ate with Jesus, we drank with Him. We know that He is alive.”I want to ask you a question today, my dear friend, why do you doubt the existence of Jesus so much when there is more evidence that He walked on the earth than Julius Caesar, and yet you never doubt that the Emperor of Rome existed but you question the sovereignty and the miracle-working power of the Son of God? There are none who are so blind as those who do not want to see! There are so many negative people who are talking about, “Did He really live?” Yes, we see the Bible. There are so many fake things around. I do understand that, and I sympathise with you, but God's Holy Word, the Bible, has never, ever changed. It is the same yesterday, today and forever. You will find that in Hebrews 13:8, and you and I need to believe when everything in this world is so plastic, so undependable. Now, you say to me, “Angus, how can we know that Jesus Christ has literally risen from the dead?” Very easily. As a farmer, I go out early in the morning before the sun has risen, and I see the stars. They have never changed. Oh, they are so beautiful. I look at the moon, the faithful witness in sky. What does it do? It reflects the sun. Of course, we spell sun, S-O-N. Yes, we need to open our spiritual eyes. I have just become a great-grandfather for the second time, and I held that little baby girl in my arms a week ago, and I could fit her into one hand. But I want to tell you, she is beautiful. She has dark eyes like her mother, my grand-daughter. Her little fingers are unbelievable. When she holds your finger, you say, “Lord, I see Jesus in her creation."Today, stop doubting and start believing, and you will have a much better day.Goodbye.

I greet you in Jesus' precious name! It is Monday morning, the 13th of April, 2026 and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today. We start in the Book of Romans 10:13:”For whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Then we go to Acts 10:34:”Then Peter opened his mouth and said: “In truth I perceive that God shows no partiality.” God has got no favourites. Anybody who puts their hand up. Anybody who says, ”Lord, have mercy on me, a sinner,” will be saved. He has got no favourites. In fact, I'll go so far as to say that as I read the Bible, I see so often the Lord seems to choose people that maybe you and I would never have anything to do with. We start with Mary Magdalene. She was a woman who had a very poor reputation, and in fact, Jesus delivered her of seven demons and yet she became His most faithful. What about Zacchaeus? Even the Apostles said, ”Lord, do you know who you are talking to? You can't go in there, that man is a thief, he's a tax collector!” Jesus went in and had a meal at his house, and that day they got saved, not just Zacchaeus but all his cronies as well. The Lord has got no favourites, and that is good news, isn't it? I've heard reports that in Iran at the moment, young people are having dreams of a man who comes to speak to them, wearing a beautiful white robe, with holes in His hands and fire in His eyes. Now, these people have never read the Bible or heard the name of Jesus, but Jesus is visiting them in their dreams, and they are being saved and following the Son of God.Oh, folks, today let us be careful not to point fingers. Remember people who live in glass houses don't throw stones. We need to thank God that He will choose anybody who says, ”Lord, today have mercy on me, a sinner.” And He will, and He has, and that is great news!Jesus bless you and have a wonderful day. I greet you in Jesus' precious name! It is Sunday morning, the 12th of April, 2026, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today. We go straight to the Book of Acts 10:15: ”And a voice spoke to him again the second time, “What God has cleansed you must not call common.” What God has made clean, you cannot call unclean. I looked up The Message translation, and it says, ”… If God says it's okay, then it's okay.” You know folks, we've got the situation here where Peter had that dream, vision or trance on top of the roof of Simon the Tanner's house, and he saw a sheet coming down from heaven and all kinds of creatures and birds of the air were there, and the Lord said to him: “Rise, Peter; kill and eat.” Now Peter said, “No Lord! I have never eaten anything common or unclean in my life.” Then the Lord spoke to him again a second time and said to him, ”What God has cleansed, you may not call un-cleansed.”People are more important than traditions, and the Holy Spirit revealed to Peter in a dream that whatever God has cleansed is clean, and we need to know that. I've got a dear friend who goes with me when I travel overseas and up into central Africa. I have told him and we've had a good talk about it, (he's a very special friend to me. He's very particular about what he eats. He keeps himself very fit and very trim), I said to him, ”When you go with me and we go into a house, you will eat whatever is put in front of you, otherwise you're not coming.”Folks, I can preach the Gospel, and I can see people respond to the Gospel and they are deeply touched, sometimes to tears, and then we'll go back to their homes. Some people live in very simple homes, and the food that they give us is very simple and sometimes is not maybe not what you and I would regard as good food, but that woman has slaved over a stove to make a meal for us, and it has cost her plenty. Now, if we turn our noses up, as it were, and don't partake heartily of what she has prepared, it is a great insult to her, but if you eat that food, that will make an impact on her like maybe the Gospel doesn't even make an impact sometimes, because we are doing what God has called us to do. Jesus bless you and have a wonderful day. Goodbye.

We start in the Book of Numbers 30:2: “If a man makes a vow to the Lord, or swears an oath to bind himself by some agreement, he shall not break his word; he shall do according to all that proceeds out of his mouth.” Wow! That is quite a statement. Then we go to the Gospel of Luke 22:61-62: “Before the rooster crows, you will deny Me three times.” So Peter went out and wept bitterly.”A vow is a serious thing. According to the Oxford Dictionary, it is a solemn promise, a pledge, an oath, and a commitment. Now we know the sad story about Peter, the big fisherman who said to the Lord, “I will never deny You, Lord.” But he denied Him three times. Oh, my dear friend, we cannot break a promise that we make to God. It almost destroyed Peter completely. In fact, if the Lord Jesus Christ Himself had not told the disciples to tell Peter that “He will see him in Galilee” after the resurrection, there would have been no hope for him. I made a vow myself, to the Lord Jesus Christ, many years ago. I was going through an extreme drought on the farm. The maize crop was failing and I was facing absolute bankruptcy. I cried out to the Lord. I will never forget it. I said, “Lord, if You pull me through this drought, I make a vow that I will preach Your Gospel for the rest of my life.Well, He pulled me out of the drought. We had a miraculous crop, and now I am preaching the Gospel. Folks, keep your vow to the Lord. Don't break it. Jesus bless you and have a wonderful day,Goodbye.

I greet you in Jesus' precious name! It is Friday morning, the 10th of April, 2026, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today. We go to 1 Timothy 6:6: “Now godliness with contentment is great gain.” Then we read it out of the Amplified Version: “But godliness actually is a source of great gain when accompanied by contentment [that contentment which comes from a sense of inner confidence based on the sufficiency of God].”If God is our sufficiency, then we are content, but many of us are not. Some of the poorest people I know are the most content. They have nothing to worry about because no one can steal anything from them because they don't have anything. And some of the wealthiest people I know are unhappy because they have a large amount of money or possessions that they have to watch over and they are continually worried about losing their money. Contentment! That bus driver, all he is concerned about is getting his salary at the end of the month. The cattleman who looks after the cattle on the farmer's property, he just needs to know that those cattle are in good condition. The waitress in the restaurant, she is happy because she has got a job and she is serving her customers with lots of joy. The usher - I am talking about the usher in the church, he is the one who welcomes you into the church. Often, he has more impact than the preacher. Discontentment is a terrible thing. When you are a multi-millionaire, you have a great responsibility, and everybody wants to get rich, but once you have all that money, you have to manage it. I think about the sad story of Elvis Presley. Elvis Presley said sometimes when he was on the platform, “he feels like he is in a prison and he can't get away because of the commitments on his life.” That is what he said. I have been to his home in America, and it was a very sad place for me. He died, he was only 40 years old. Contentment is very important. You know, we have got a little dog. In Afrikaans, they call him a “worsie,” which is a sausage dog, and this little dog is very happy. We have been away for a while. We were in Central Africa. We got back last night, and that little dog was so happy to see us and so content. She jumped up on my lap, put her head down on my knee and she was totally content. Jesus Christ is all we need. If you have got Him, then you have got contentment and a reason to live. Have a wonderful day today and be grateful for what you have got.Goodbye.

I greet you in Jesus' precious name! It is Thursday morning, the 9th of April, 2026, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today. We start in that very well-known scripture found in Philippians 3:10: “…that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death,…” Then the other one, Colossians 1:27: “…which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.” We are talking this morning about our lifestyle, a way of life. Being a Christian is not like belonging to a certain club or organisation. No, it's a relationship with Jesus Christ, the practice of the presence of God, twenty-four/seven, night and day. The more time we spend with Jesus, the more time we get to know Him.William Duma was a Zulu pastor from the Umkomaas Valley in KwaZulu-Natal. A small little man, but what an incredible servant of the Lord! He prayed for the sick, he preached the Gospel without any kind of fear, and people used to flock to his services. But he had an intimate relationship with Jesus. Once there was an organisation that invited him to go to Israel as a gift for all his hard work, not only him, but a few other ministers as well. All of them accepted immediately, but he said, “Can I let you know tomorrow morning? I just want to ask my Lord if I can go.” Of course, he did go. That is the relationship that you and I need with Jesus. That Yorkshire plumber, Smith Wigglesworth, the evangelist, he said, “I never pray for half an hour, but I never let half an hour go by without praying” - a man who had a relationship with God. You see, it is a lifestyle. When we fall down, we say sorry, we repent, and we get up and we keep going again. We need to keep on keeping on. This is a lifetime to achieve. Matthew 6:33: “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.” In closing, we need to stop trying to please God and start to be a child of God. We need to seek the Lord and then the peace and the contentment follow.Jesus bless you and have a wonderful day as you walk with Him today.Goodbye.

I greet you in Jesus' precious name! It is Wednesday morning, the 8th April, 2026, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today. We are still thinking today and meditating on the Easter week that has gone by, and we realise again the tremendous price that our beloved Saviour paid for you and me. I want to say to you today, it's the garden, or it is the Cross. We need to make that decision. Jesus did. If we look at Matthew 26:39, the Bible says: “He went a little farther and fell on His face, and prayed, saying, “O My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as You will.”The hard part is to make the decision. Now the Lord Jesus Christ could have said at the end, “No, I can't do this Lord, Father God, I can't go through with this because I know what is going to happen.” He already knew about the forthcoming crucifixion and He sweated blood in the garden, trying to make the decision - is He going to go through with it or is He going to pull out? We can see that in the Gospel of Luke 22:44: “Then His sweat became like great drops of blood falling down to the ground.” I have heard doctors say that when a person is totally stressed out, it can be that actual blood comes through the pores of his skin. That is extreme stress, agony, anxiety and everything else that goes with it. You see, although Jesus was God, He was also very much man. He went through everything that you and I are going through at the moment. I want to say to you today, God is calling you to make a decision. You cannot sit on the fence, either you are going to go through with it or you are going to call it off, but you cannot stay in the middle. I remember it like yesterday, when I got a word from God to hire the biggest tent in the world. It was built in Britain, it was extended in Germany and then it was shipped out here for the World Earth Summit in Johannesburg and by faith, I had a mere R500.00 in my pocket, that's not even $50 and by faith I went through with it and the rest is history. We ended up with thirty thousand men in that tent and thirty thousand men outside the tent. It was probably the biggest miracle I experienced up until that time, but I had to make the decision. If I had not made the decision, it would never have happened. Now you go to the Lord, you go to the mountain, go into the closet and pray that God will tell you what to do. If you must marry that person or not, whether you must complete that degree or not, whether you must change your job, whether you must emigrate, or whether you must stay here. He will tell you, but you need to ask Him and pray and wait. Jesus said at the end, ”Not my will but thy will be done.”Jesus bless you and have a wonderful day. Goodbye.

We go to the Book of Numbers 25:10-11: “Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying: “Phinehas the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, has turned back My wrath from the children of Israel, because he was zealous with My zeal among them, so that I did not consume the children of Israel…” Phinehas was zealous for the word of God. Folks, I want to say to you today, we need to be more zealous, more excited, more passionate, more concerned for the things of God. Because Phinehas, the grandson of Aaron, Moses' brother, the High Priest, because of his zeal and his commitment to the Gospel, to saving the people of Israel, the Lord really noticed him. The Lord was so angry with the people of Israel because they had played the harlot with other nations, that He wanted to destroy them, but because of Phinehas' commitment and excitement…I want to ask you a question today. Are you excited about the things of God? You might say, “Uncle Angus, there was a time when I was, but because of the pressures of life and because of the workload, because of the family commitments, I have gone cold.” I want to pray for you today, that God will fill you again with the joy of the Lord and with zeal. You know, they say a new Christian should be locked up for the first six months because he is like a bull in a china shop. I think the Lord prefers that than somebody who just doesn't care anymore, somebody who just goes through the motions. Let me pray for you because we need the fire of God in our hearts, the excitement and joy to finish this race. We won't do it otherwise.Heavenly Father,I pray for my dear friend listening to this message right now. Lord, fill his heart, fill his soul with new fire for Jesus Christ. Lord, open his eyes that he might see there are so many people around him, in the workplace, on the sports field, in the university, in the school, who are desperate for the fire of God. Lord, the fire has almost gone out. There is just a little flame flickering, just flickering. Oh Lord, restore them so that they are zealous for You. I ask this in Jesus' precious name, amen.God bless you and have a wonderful day.Goodbye.

I greet you in Jesus' precious name! It is Monday morning, the 6th of April, 2026, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today. We start in 2 Corinthians 3:6: “…for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.” Then we go on to Acts 7:3. This is Stephen talking to the High Priest and the Council. He is telling them, “and then the Lord said to Abraham, “Get out of your country and your from your relatives and come to a land that I will show you.” Then he goes right on from there to tell the High Priest and the Council, the whole history of the Jewish nation from the time that they were delivered from Egypt out of slavery by the Lord using Moses. A waiter - yes, a waiter reminded the intellectuals, the High Priest, the Council. Those men had so much power they could almost administer the death penalty, and yet it took an ordinary waiter who was serving at the tables to teach them about their own history. Do you know why? Because he knew the Author of the word. That's right, he knew our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, He knew God the Father, and he was filled with the Holy Spirit. That is why the Bible tells us that the letter killeth but the Spirit giveth life. You can know the Bible inside out, back to front. That doesn't mean to say that you understand it unless you are filled with the Spirit of God. All you become is a history teacher. Isn't that right? No, it is when the Holy Spirit empowers you, like He did Stephen, that Stephen understood the meaning of God's Holy Word. I want to say to you today, yes, we must read the Bible. I read the Bible every single day of my life. You know that. That is where I get these Thoughts for Today from, but not only read it but understand it. Ask the Holy Spirit to give you understanding before you read your daily scriptures. The High Priests knew the word, but they didn't know the Holy Spirit, so they had no understanding of the power of the written word of God. So today remember, the letter killeth but the Spirit giveth life.Jesus bless you and have a wonderful day,Goodbye.

I greet you in Jesus' precious name! It is Easter Sunday morning, the 5th of April, 2026, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today. I just want to say to you, a very happy Easter Sunday. Yes, He is alive! He is not in the tomb, He has risen from the dead! We go to Romans 8:11: ”But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.” We want to thank God this morning for His precious Holy Spirit. Remember, Jesus said to His disciples, “It is expedient that I leave because if I don't leave, I can't send my Spirit to you. Now, the Holy Spirit is with you young man, right as I am talking, with you young lady, old gentleman, with you, granny, right now, because the Spirit of the Lord is all over the world at one time. He is alive, and because He is alive, you and I can face tomorrow. The same power that raised Christ from the dead can give you and I strength, courage, and hope to finish our race. I want to sing that old song with you, I am sure you know it, Spirit of the living God:Spirit of the living God,fall afresh on me.Spirit of the living God,fall afresh on me.Melt me, mould me, fill me, use me.Spirit of the living God,fall afresh on me!Father God,I want to thank You for my dear friends that faithfully listen to the Thought for the Day every single morning. Holy Spirit, remind them today that they will never, ever be alone again. Father, Your Spirit, the Holy Spirit, is with each and every one of Your believers today and You have promised us that You will never leave us and You will never forsake us. Hebrews 13:5.In Jesus' name.I want to wish you a blessed Sunday and we know that Christ is alive, He is well, and most of all, He is coming back soon. Jesus bless you and have a wonderful Easter Sunday, together with your loved ones.Goodbye.

I greet you in Jesus' precious name! It is Saturday morning, the 4th of April, 2026, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today. We start in the Gospel of Luke 21:15. Jesus says: “…for I will give you a mouth and wisdom which all your adversaries (all your enemies) will not be able to contradict or resist.” He will give you the words to speak when it is needed. Don't worry about that. Now, remember the waiter, yes - his name was Stephen. He was confounding all the Pharisees with the word of God, and so they accused him of speaking evil against the Temple and against Jehovah. Acts 6:15: “And all who sat in the council, (they were judging him now) looking steadfastly at him, saw his face as the face of an angel.” I want to tell you something now. You don't have to defend yourself. You just have to spend time in the presence of Jesus and He will give you the words to speak to defend yourself. He will give you godly wisdom and counsel. And do you know what will happen? When you start speaking from your heart, it doesn't matter how clever your adversaries are, they will be confounded because that is what happened to the High Priests when they were judging Stephen. They saw him and his face looked like the face of an angel. The word of God is very powerful when it is spoken through the mouth of an ordinary person. Remember David Wilkerson, the Cross and the Switchblade? The skinny preacher who went down and started preaching to the gangsters in downtown New York? Nicky Cruz was the leader of the Mau Mau gang. David Wilkerson said to him, “Nicky, God loves you,” and Nicky said to David Wilkerson, “Preacher, get away from me, otherwise I will cut you with my flick knife into a hundred pieces.” And David Wilkerson says, “And Nicky, every piece will tell you the same thing, that Jesus loves you.” And with that, that hardened gangster just crumbled and David Wilkerson led him to Jesus.Do you know that the old gentleman is now in his eighties? He is still an evangelist, preaching the love of God. Don't worry about what you will say. Just love people, and the Lord will put the words into your mouth. It doesn't matter who it is.Jesus bless you and have a wonderful day.Goodbye.

I greet you in Jesus' precious name! It is Good Friday, the 3rd of April, 2026, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today. I'm going to read from the Gospel of John 15:13-14 (Amplified Version): No one has greater love [nor stronger commitment] than to lay down his own life for his friends. You are my friends if you keep on doing what I command you.” This is a very, very solemn day. It's a good day to come aside, wait and think and meditate on what Jesus has done for you and for me today. If He had not died on that cross, we would never, ever be able to receive eternal life. Have you thought about that? God became flesh. He died for you and me so that we have an opportunity to live forever.I went to Israel, the one time I went, I can't remember exactly the year, I went to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in the Old City of Jerusalem. I know there are two places where they say that Jesus was buried. The one is in the Garden Tomb which is very special and very intimate and the other is a huge church in the middle of the Old City. As I walked through those doors, I sat on a little bench just inside the door and I looked up, and on the other side of that passage there are steps that go up to where they say, the Lord Jesus was crucified, and I've never done it before but I have felt so overwhelmed by the presence of God and what Jesus did for me, I started to weep and I didn't just weep gently. I wept and my dear wife, Jill, had to put her arm around me and comfort me and she said, ”Are you alright?” and I just nodded. The massive price that Christ paid for all of my sins! I want to say to you today, sit down somewhere, please. Have a cup of tea or coffee and think and give glory to God for what He has done for you and for me.We had a Mighty Men Conference on the farm here, many years ago. We called it, Dying to Live. If you want to live, you have to die, die to self and start to live for Christ because that's what Jesus did for you and for me on Easter Friday when He was crucified, an innocent Man, for our sins. I want to pray for you today. Maybe you've never done it before. Jesus, please forgive me for I am a sinner and I have messed up so badly. Please give me another chance. Thank you, that through your death I have an opportunity to have eternal life. I ask this in Your precious name, amen. God bless you and have a peaceful Easter Friday. Goodbye.

We go to the Gospel of John 13:14: “If I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another's feet”.Spoken by the Prince of Glory humbled Himself and washed the dirty, dusty feet of His servants, His disciples. What an example! Then we go to Acts 6:5: “And the saying pleased the whole multitude. And they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and the Holy Spirit,…” What happened? The apostles were so busy trying to feed the widows and the orphans and take care of the needy that they were not spending enough time in prayer and preparation and preaching. They said, “We will have to bring some men in that can do the menial jobs so that we can spend time in the presence of God. And who did they choose? They chose Stephen and a number of other men. Stephen was a man who became the first martyr in the New Testament. Folks, we need to understand something - If we want to really be used by God, we must humble ourselves. We must serve one another. We have a men's prayer meeting early in the morning, and the boys come together. This morning we were at that meeting and what a beautiful meeting it was! A lot of these men are ordinary working men. And women, I want to say to you as well, I just love that housewife. Oh yes, yes - what a job you have got! Mary, the mother of Jesus, was a housewife. She was chosen to serve, to wait upon the greatest Man who has ever walked on the face of the earth and He is coming back soon. As we contemplate Easter, Easter Friday will be tomorrow, as we think about that, l want to say to you, let us start to serve one another. Men always banter. Do you know what banter means? It doesn't mean that they are sarcastic, but they joke with each other, that is what men do, and this morning I had to laugh because the electrician in the group did a bit of plumbing and the plumber wasn't very happy with it. He said, “You are coming into my territory”, and they had a good banter and we all had a great laugh, but do you know what they do, both of those men? They serve their fellowmen. They fix the electrics when they break, they fix the dirty plumbing when it needs to be done, and they do it unto the Lord.Today, let us be waiters and serve one another as we think about Easter.Jesus bless you and have a wonderful day.Goodbye.

We start in the Book of Acts 5:42: “And daily in the temple, and in every house, they did not cease teaching and preaching Jesus as the Christ.” That is just after they had been given a severe beating and told by the High Priest not to mention the name of Jesus Christ again. And what happened? They went straight out and they were rejoicing and they started to tell the people about their beloved Saviour. When was the last time that you and I stood up in public and said, “I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ for it is the power of salvation to those who believe, first the Jew, then the Gentile”? Romans 1:16, and then that beautiful scripture that you find in Romans 5:3: “…but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, character; and character, hope.”Oh folks, we need to speak it out! I will never forget preaching in the Eastern Cape, many years ago. I love those farmers down there, and at half time I decided to shoot into the bathroom and an old farmer came in. He said to me, “Young boy, when you preach, you don't have to sweat so much.” (In other words, “you don't have to try so hard.”) I said, “Oh sir” I said, “Wait for the second half. You haven't heard anything yet!”There is nothing like perseverance, there is nothing like persecution, to get you to stand up for the Lord. Look what is happening in the persecuted church in the eastern part of the world. We think of Iran, the amount of people who are coming to Christ. We think of China. These are the places where people are not ashamed of the Gospel. They are dying for their faith. I have decided to follow Jesus,I have decided to follow Jesus,I have decided to follow Jesus,No turning back, praise the Lord, no turning back.If you can't say it, whistle it, but do something! We start in Philippians 3:12: “Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me.” What a beautiful scripture! Then the next one just to confirm it, is found in the Book of Hebrews 12:1: “Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,…”Oh my dear friend, there is no stopping now, no ways! There is no resting, but rather we are pressing on towards our eternal home in Heaven. You say I cannot take it anymore. The road is too hard, it is too steep, it is too narrow, it is too stony. Keep on keeping on. Do not allow any distractions to hold you back. I am thinking of the mighty Comrades Marathon - 90 odd kilometres. When you're tired, and the heat is bearing down on you and those hills are looking absolutely impossible to run over, you say to yourself, “I can't anymore”. And then what happens? A courtesy vehicle rides up, and lovely coffee, the door opens and the people inside say, ‘Look, you are looking very tired. Don't you want to stop?” But you know what happens, when you step into that vehicle, they take the number off your chest and you are disqualified. The race is over for you. Do not stop. Do not let that vehicle tempt you to throw in the towel. Then you carry on, and you carry on, and then all of a sudden you come up next to a beautiful shady tree on the side of the road, and you feel, “If I just sit down for a minute and have a rest I'll be fine.” Don't do it because you will never get up again. Keep on running the race which the Lord is running with you. You are not running on your own. Keep your eye on the finish line and never look back and I want to tell you, you will make it to the end. There is a cloud of witnesses waiting for you at the finish line, all your loved ones who have gone before you. They are clapping. Keep running, you are nearly there, and the worst thing of course is to look behind you. When you look behind you, you normally don't finish the race. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus and He will see you through.Have a wonderful day, keep running the race and remember if Christ is for you, there is no man who will stand against you. We start in the Book of Isaiah 8:10: “…God is with us.” Isn't that a beautiful comfort to know? And then we go to Romans 8:31: “If God is for us, who can be against us?” Isn't that a beautiful reassurance? Lastly, we go to Acts 5:39. You see, what had happened was that the High Priest and his people were trying to persecute Peter and the apostles, and there was a tremendous fight going on. Then there was a wise man amongst the elders. His name was Gamaliel. When they were arguing about whether we should put them to death or put them in jail? And of course, the jail couldn't hold them! Gamaliel said to them, to all the elders and the High Priest in Acts 5:39: ‘…if it is of God, you cannot overthrow it—lest you even be found to fight against God.” We need to give people a chance. We need to give them an opportunity to prove themselves. If it is of God, it will work. If it is not of God, it will fail anyway. You see, I am a farmer. We'll have a newborn calf. It may not be the prettiest of all the calves, but give it a chance to grow, and it will surprise you. If you are a fruit farmer, doesn't the Bible say leave that tree for the fourth year before you start to reap it for commercial use. We have a little school that is part of us here, this school has a headmaster, not so young anymore, but he has been with us for many, many years and sometimes I would go to him and say, “I really believe we need to give this young man an opportunity. He has failed, but we need to give him a chance.” And the headmaster would say to me, “Just leave him for a couple of years and let's see the kind of fruit that he produces.” Wise man!I want to say to you today, maybe it is your son, maybe it is your daughter and you don't know what to do because you are trusting that they are going to change, but they don't seem to be changing, give them an opportunity. That employee, don't just write him off. Give him a chance to prove himself and he might end up as your best worker. Let's be like Gamaliel today. Let us not be so quick to cut the tree down, to sell the calf, to write that child off. We start in Numbers 23:8: “How shall I curse whom God has not cursed? And how shall I denounce whom the Lord has not denounced?” Then we go to verse 20. This is now Balaam speaking to Balak, his king: “Behold, I have received a command to bless; He has blessed, and I cannot reverse it.” Wow! The king, Balak, wanted Balaam to curse the Children of Israel, but he had a direction from God, not to curse God's people, but to bless them.Today, we want to speak clearly about being a light in a world that is full of negativity and negative talk. In Matthew 5:14, the Lord Jesus says: “You are the light of the world.” We are not called to curse but rather to be a blessing to people. If you have nothing good to say about somebody, rather don't say anything at all. I want to tell you a story about two young boys who live in the United States of America. Their mother spoke life over those two boys. They had no father, she was a single parent. She worked in a restaurant. I think she held down a couple of jobs to keep these young boys at school. She told them that they had to learn. She spoke life into them. The one became a mechanical engineer, I believe, and the other one became one of the top neurosurgeons, that's a brain surgeon, in the world. His name is Dr Ben Carson. He led a team of surgeons, the first known in the world, to separate siamese twins who had been joined at the back of the head, and they both lived. Why? Because of a mother who spoke life and blessing over her two young sons. She was an uneducated lady herself, but she knew Jesus Christ and she persevered with Him. Today, let us be a blessing. Let us not be a curse. If we have nothing good to say, don't say anything. Let us rather start speaking life and not death. That is what Balaam said. He said to the king, “I cannot curse God's people.” We cannot curse people, folks, we have got to bless them and pray for them and see the good in them, and Jesus Christ will turn the situation around. They said he spoke Mandarin better than any other missionary in China. He was a great and very humble man of God. He was responsible for sending something like a thousand families to China to preach the Gospel, and he had no source of income. No missionary organisation sent him. He went on his own, and he told his people, “Beware of little foxes.”What are we talking about? We are talking about those little compromises that we have with the world. That's right, just one small drink won't harm anybody, and that is how the alcoholic gets started. Just one small smoke of marijuana and that is how you could become a drug addict. Just one small indulgence with a woman could be the beginning of the end of your marriage. That little voice that said, “Oh, it's not so bad. You don't have to really pay that account. Just leave it, and it will go away.” “You don't have to pay the taxman, I mean, the taxman does nothing for you.” The law requires that we obey everything. The fruit is eventually spoiled if you continue to allow these little foxes to contaminate your crop, whatever it might be. I know this as a farmer. We have to be on the job. We cannot allow any form of infection or disease to come in amongst our animals. We have to be diligent in everything we do, and if we do that, then God promises us that we will have a bountiful crop. Jesus bless you and have a wonderful day.Goodbye.

Trust in your enchantments and maybe, maybe, you'll profit by it. We don't think so, do we? Then we go to the Book of Numbers 23:8: “How shall I curse whom God has not cursed? And how shall I denounce whom the Lord has not denounced?” We're talking about the Children of Israel. Balak wanted the prophet Balaam to curse the Children of Israel, but he was not a fool. He said, ”How can I curse what God has not cursed and how can I denounce what the Lord has not denounced?”I believe the Lord is saying to us today and this is a special word for certain people including myself. There is no security in the wisdom of the world. The is no security in fortune telling, old wives tales, horoscopes, etc. There is no security in lucky charms and there is no security in false prophets. Whoever comes and tells you something, ask them one question, ”Can you show me where it says that in the Bible?” And if they say, ”No, I can't show you but somebody told me,” disregard it. It's the word of God in these last days that will keep you and me from straying and going the wrong way. Even Balaam would not prophesy against the Lord.If you look at Proverbs 3:5-6, we know it very well: ”Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.”So it doesn't matter who it is. It doesn't matter if it's some person with a great reputation. If they cannot back it up with the word of God, please disregard it.Jesus bless you and have a wonderful day. Goodbye.

We go straight to 1 Corinthians 13:1: Paul says: “Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal.” Then we go to verse 13: “And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.”There is no doubt about it, it is the most powerful force on earth because it is God. God is love. He who does not love God does not know God. Many years ago, I had the privilege of speaking to a large group of Welsh farmers, their wives and their children, in a big agricultural hall. I will never forget it. They started to sing that well-known hymn that originated in the Welsh Revival at the turn of the last century. But they didn't sing it in English. They sang it in Welsh, a beautiful language. And I want to sing it to you, just the first verse, and think of these words. Here is love vast as the ocean,Loving kindness as the flood,When the Prince of Life, my ransom,Shed for me His precious blood. Who His love will not remember?Who can cease to sing His praise? He shall never be forgotten,Through Heaven's everlasting day. After that hymn was sung, I was weeping, I could not speak. Such love! Love is also powerful. Do you know the story of the lady who was in the kitchen? Her son was working on a car outside, and the jack that was holding up the car, a huge American limousine, slipped and fell, and he was trapped underneath the car, and obviously, he shouted out for help. His mother ran out, a little lady, and picked up the car so that they could get the young man out from underneath it. The car weighed 3,000 lbs. How is that possible? It is only possible through love. Such love she had for her son that she did something that defied gravity completely, and she held that car up until the neighbour came and pulled the boy out. Today, go out and love one another because that is what Jesus said.God bless you and have a wonderful day.Goodbye.

We go to the New Testament, Matthew 6:9: ”In this manner, therefore, pray, Our Father in heaven,…” What a beautiful sound in Father's ear to hear his children cry out to Him: “Our Father who art in heaven…” That's for young men and young women, old men and old women, and especially the children. It's the best name by which we can think of God as our Father.Martin Luther said, ”It is a loving, deep, sweet, heart-touching name, for the name of Father is, in its nature, full of inborn sweetness and comfort." As a father myself, I love to hear the name, when my children, grandchildren call me “Father”. It makes me feel so wanted, so warm. You might say, ”But Uncle Angus, I don't have a father.” You might not have a father on earth, oh, but you've got a Father in heaven who created you, and He is just looking forward to seeing you at home time. Can you imagine the day when Father says, ”Welcome home John, welcome home Mary”? What a day that will be! In Zulu we say, ”Baba.” In the Xhosa language we say, ”Tata.” I have many men that have asked me to mentor them, five hundred and forty at the last count. I'm not their father. No, no, I don't even pretend to be their father, but I do mentor them. Many of them don't have an earthly father so they call me “Dad,” but they don't call me “Father.” I love them dearly. When I get a message from them to say, ”Dad, we just want to tell you, we were praying for you this morning.” It touches my heart deeply.Maybe there's a lady out there who says, ”I've never had a father. I don't know what a father's like.” Oh, spend time in your closet speaking to Him and you'll get to know Him so well. He is such a very special God. He's your protector. He is your soon-coming king. This is Jesus speaking:”But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” What a commission! Now we must think about this. A hundred and twenty ordinary people, and they are hiding in the upper room because they are afraid they are going to be murdered, there is no accomplished theologian amongst them, there is no multi-millionaire amongst them. They are ordinary people, women and men, working people who go about their daily chores. The Holy Spirit comes into the room and changes their lives forever. I want to suggest something to you. This is not a man's idea. This is not a spreadsheet you put out on a table and say, ”OK, now this is how we're going to do it. We'll go here if we can afford it…” No, they had no game plan. It was a God idea. A hundred and twenty people, that's all, and He said, ”Go into all the world.” And the Bible tells us they turned the world upside down. There were no cell phones. There were no iPads. There were no computers, nothing! They just went in faith by the power of the Holy Spirit and they turned the world upside down, from Caesar's palace right down to the man in the street, and they went all over the world. Thomas went to India and he was speared to death as a martyr. Andrew, James, John eventually, every one of them died a martyr's death. They paid the full price and I think that's maybe where the secret is. The Lord is looking for a man or a woman who is prepared to obey the Holy Spirit, whatever He tells you. Maybe you're sitting in an old age home. You say, ”Angus, what can I do? I can't even walk anymore.” I tell you what you can do. You can do the most important job. Praying. Remember when men work, they work, but when men pray, God works, and God worked through these hundred and twenty ordinary people who went right around the globe to the ends of the earth. That's what the Lord said.I want to challenge you today, come on, we don't have much time left. Jesus is on His way. He's coming back, I'm telling you now. We need to work while it's still day because the night is coming when we can't work anymore. Let us stand up. Let us brush off all that dust and let us get back into the fight.Jesus bless you and have a wonderful, Holy Spirit-filled day.Goodbye

I greet you in Jesus' precious name! It is Monday morning, the 23rd of March, 2026, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today. We go to Zachariah 4:6, and the word of God says:”Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,' Says the Lord of hosts.” Then we go to the Gospel of John 15:5. Jesus says:“I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.” I read a little article and it really spoke to me. This is what it said, ”Hand full and the heart empty.” Be careful. Your hands are so full of doing good work for Jesus that your heart is empty. Jesus said for without Him, you and I (I'm talking to that young lady, that young man, that old pensioner), you and I can do nothing. Too much work, you forget the Master, and then everything just starts to slowly but surely disintegrate. You start making bad decisions, you start panicking, you do rash things that you would never normally do. Why? Because your hands are too full and your heart is too empty. But on the other hand, if the heart is full of God, then the hands cannot forget God. Folks, I know people who are working so hard doing the work of the Lord that they have forgotten the Lord of the work. You can't do that because it's all about Him anyway. What really upsets me a lot and it's actually very sad, and it worries me, is when I see large Christian organisations that started with some man or woman or couple, or a small team that loved Jesus. They had regular quiet times every single morning before they started work and they went out and their vision, their work for the Lord, just blossomed like a beautiful rose opening up, and then it got so big and they got so busy that they forgot why they were doing it, and Jesus Christ is not even brought into the equation. They'll go right through a meeting and right at the end, just to make it look respectable, they'll bring up a scripture verse. That is not acceptable. It's got to be the other way round. Spend time with God every morning, hear what He's got to say. Ask Him to help you with your heart and then go out and you will have plenty of time to do your work and plenty of time to be with the Lord. We need to get it the right way round.Jesus bless you and have a wonderful day. Goodbye.

I greet you in Jesus' precious name! It is Sunday morning, the 22nd of March, 2026, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today. We start in the first book of the Bible, Genesis 25:8 (Amplified Version) Then Abraham breathed his last and he died at a good old age, an old man who was satisfied [with life];…” Then we go to the Book of James 4:14:”…you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour that appears for a little time and then vanishes away.” Life is very short. Now I had the privilege of reading a beautiful little description by the Scottish preacher, Alexander Maclaren, who lived some time ago, and I want to read it because I think it's very special. This life is only a scaffolding for the life to come, which is eternity. Now this is what he says. He says, ”Scaffoldings are for buildings, and the moments and the days and the years of our earthly lives are scaffolding. What are you building inside it? What kind of structure will be disclosed when the scaffolding is knocked away? Days and years are ours that they may give us what eternity cannot take away. What is that? A character built upon the love of God in Jesus Christ and moulded into His likeness. Has your life helped you to do that? If so, you have got the best out of it and your life is completed, whatever may be the number of its days.”Now this is very important. He says, ”Quality, not quantity, is the thing that determines the perfectness of a life. Has your life this completeness?” Beautiful reading! I want to say to you today that you need to have a good look and say to yourself, and I need to do the same - are we spending more time on the scaffolding than the building? Now the building is our nature, our character, our love for our fellow man and mostly for God, our patience, our endurance. Are we spending more time on the scaffolding - that's going to fall away? The temporal things that we are building - building our empires, building our future in money and in reputation, or are we building a building that will stand and soon as we are finished building it the scaffolding will be taken away, and then we will die and we will go to Heaven, and the Lord Jesus Christ will meet us there.Spend more time building in eternity and less time building on earth.Jesus bless you and have a wonderful day.Goodbye.

He has never lost a fight.Folks, I really want to say to you today, don't challenge God. Remember Job the farmer? After he had been arguing with God, the Lord said, “Stand up like a man and answer Me. Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth?” Exactly! It is almost ludicrous to challenge God. I have heard some people thump the table. It scares me, “When I get to Heaven, God is going to answer some questions that I have got for Him.” Oh my dear friend, you have no idea Who you are even talking about! If you want to fight, fight with the devil, but never, ever challenge the King of Glory. You know, He is for you, He is not against you. If Christ is for you, no man will stand against you. Why are you arguing with the only One in the world that can help you? “Yes, but I asked God to do this but He didn't do it,” and “I asked God to do that and it hasn't come through.”I want to say something to you. He has never, ever let me down in over fifty years. It brings a tear to my eye when I hear people say, “God is going to answer some of my questions.” Don't contend with the Creator of Heaven and Earth. Go to Him now, today, and repent and say, “I am sorry, Lord, I didn't mean it. Please forgive me.” Do you know what happened to the Children of Israel, when they contended with God? Not one of them, except Joshua and Caleb, actually entered into the Land of Milk and Honey. They all perished in the desert. Only their children crossed over the Jordan. Do not do it today. I want to pray for you:Heavenly Father,I pray for my dear friend, that young girl, that young man who are contending, questioning Your authority, questioning Your love for them. Lord, please today, reassure them that You are in their corner, that You will stand up for them, and that they will have the victory if they have patience and serve You with all of their hearts. I ask this in Jesus' name, amen.God bless you and have a wonderful day.Goodbye.

It is not us, it is Christ in us. I read a beautiful little reading from an unknown writer, and this is what he says: ”Fruit ripened in the sun is the sweetest.” Isn't that right? A lovely sweet apple, a beautiful sweet plum, is the sweetest when it is ripened naturally in the sun, not using a chemical ripener, but in the sun. Fruit ripened in the sun is the sweetest. Now, we don't spell that Son, S-U-N. We are not talking about that sun. No, no - we are talking about the Son of God, Jesus, S-O-N and you can see it, can't you? People who spend time in the presence of God are very sweet people. Why? Because God ripens them through His Son, Jesus. I want to encourage you to spend more time with the Lord. Try and get up a little bit earlier in the morning and sit there quietly and read the scriptures, listen to Christian music and most of all, pray, speak to the Lord, and He will give you that sweetness that nothing else in this world can give you.Take time out today to allow yourself to become sweet as the Son shines upon you and ripens you for His work in the Kingdom of God. We start in the Book of Acts 3:6-8: Then Peter said, “Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.” Then we go to verse 8: “So he, leaping up, stood and walked and entered the temple with them—walking, leaping, and praising God.” Ja, I'm laughing because, oh, oh, my dear friend, I love Jesus so much. I have had the privilege and the honour of seeing many, many miracles with my own eyes. Now, that man had been lame from his mother's womb. He had never walked in his life before and they laid him at the temple gate everyday to pick up alms, which is money gifts so that he could live, and he had asked Peter and John for money and they said, “Silver and gold we do not have, but in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.”We have a very special saying here at Shalom: one genuine miracle equals a thousand sermons. Isn't that right? You can't dispute a miracle. The man was lame from birth. He never walked in his life. He jumped up and he started leaping and walking and praising God.I remember, we had a crusade. It was a big tent, and we were bussing in people every single night, and the crowd was growing because people were being healed and set free. I remember us hanging a wheelchair from the roof of the tent as evidence that a lady had been supernaturally healed. There was a Sikh of the Sikh faith, he had a turban on, a very dignified man, and the Sikhs, they don't cut their hair, and they brought him to the front and onto the platform when they saw the miracles that were taking place, and they said, ”This man cannot speak, he is mute, he is dumb, he cannot talk and he wants you to pray for him.” I said, ”No problem.” So we prayed over him. I anointed him with oil in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Then I laid my hands on him and I said, ”In Jesus name, be healed.” I took the microphone, I put it to his mouth and I said to him, ”Say Jesus.” He opened his mouth and he said, ”Jesus.” The crowd went berserk. They all knew him. One genuine miracle equals a thousand sermons. Folks, go out and pray for the sick and Jesus will raise them up. God bless you and have a wonderful day. Goodbye.

I greet you in Jesus' precious name! It is Wednesday morning, the 18th of March, 2026, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today. We start in that very special psalm, Psalm 23:3:“He leads me in the paths of righteousness...” Then we go to Proverbs 22:6: “Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it.” We need to understand that we have a responsibility as parents, even as young people, to lead our fellowman in the ways of the Lord. Do you know the old matriarch elephant? Yes, the bull protects the herd and breeds with the females, but there is a matriarch in the herds of elephants, and she is the dominant animal in that herd. She is the one that teaches her young their way and she leads them, and she leads them because her mother before her has shown her the right way to walk. Now, in Africa, we have some terrible droughts. The rain goes away, the rivers dry up, the waterholes start drying up, and that is where the matriarch remembers. The elephant has an incredible memory that her mother showed her the way when she was a young elephant, the way to go and find those sources of water in the time of drought. She will lead the herd, all the way, sometimes forty, fifty, a hundred kilometres, and it will be something that she was taught when she was a young baby elephant. She never, ever forgets the way. Now, Jesus Christ said in John 14:6: “I am the way”. Please parents, teach your children the way of the Lord, and they will never forget it, even if they go into the far country (I have been there myself), they will remember! "Granny used to nurse me on her knee when I was a small little girl or boy and she used to read Bible stories to me." She used to sing Christian songs. We have a little book called “Snowy”. It is all about my horse, and I want to tell you, little children love that book. They sit and they look at the pictures and then granny will tell them the story about Snowy. I want to say to you today, please, take time out. Maybe you have a friend at university who has lost the way. Tell them the way because Jesus will lead them in the paths of righteousness for His name's sake.Have a wonderful day,God bless you and goodbye.

We go to the Book of Acts 2:37:“…Men and brethren, what shall we do?” There's a question, what shall we do? Then we go to Acts 9:4-5. Jesus says: “Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?” And he said, “Who are You, Lord?”Then we go to the last scripture, Acts 16:30:”And he brought them out and said, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” Paul and Silas, singing hymns and praying, the Holy Spirit visited that jail, broke open the gates, brought an earthquake, and released all the prisoners. The guard was so afraid, he wanted to kill himself, and Paul said, ”Do no harm to yourself, for we are all here. We are not running away. “What must I do to be saved?”I want to ask you a question this morning. What must we do? This is what they asked Peter on the day that they were baptised in the Holy Spirit and filled with power. What did Peter say? Peter said in Acts 2:38: ”Repent and let every one of you be baptised in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” The Lord is asking you and me this morning, ”What shall we do?” What does the Lord want us to do? I tell you what He wants us to do. He wants us to tell them that they must be saved, and I'm not talking about telling people that they must stop drinking, they must stop swearing, they must be saved! I'm not even telling them that they must go to church, that they must read their Bibles, that they must have a quiet time. No, they must tell people that they must be saved! The first man I ever led to Jesus Christ was a man named Jannie Barnard. We were refereeing a game of Polocrosse, that's rugby on horseback, and he looked at me, and he said, ”There's something different with you. What's happened to you?” I said, ”I've given my life to Jesus.” He said, ”I also want that. What must I do?” “I said, “I'll see you tomorrow afternoon in my green cathedral, in my corn fields, my maize fields.” And at four o'clock that afternoon, I had the privilege of praying with Jannie Barnard and leading him to Christ. Jesus says: “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.” I've written in the bottom of my Bible here, ”A great privilege. Thank you, Jesus, for this great honour. Please help us to preach with great power.”Early this morning, I got sent a little clip, and it has made me cry, and I have to share this with you. This year is the 20th anniversary of the making of the movie ”Faith like Potatoes.” I hope you've seen the movie. If you haven't, you need to see it, but it's all about ordinary people, just like you and me, but this clip was sent to me from bonnie Scotland. It is made in the south side of Glasgow, a tough area - beautiful people, coming from a tough background and living life in a tough way, but the salt of the earth. The video shows an Englishman going into a little shop that is selling potatoes. The Englishman walks in and is impressed by the state of the shop, and he says to the young man, ”I see you've got a book here on the counter. It's called, Faith like Potatoes.” The shop owner says,“Yes, sir.” He says, ”This South African came across, he wrote this book, and his father is in the book as well.” The Englishman is running a food blog, talking about food, nothing about Jesus at all, and he asked about the book. He said, ”You see sir, I was in a rehab. I had a problem, and God touched me, and now I'm doing this for Him. If you look at the walls of this shop, you'll see Scriptures everywhere, and this book is a story about a farmer who also trusted the Lord and believed God in a drought time, that He would get potatoes, and he planted potatoes, seed potatoes, and he reaped a crop.” And this Englishman is enthralled by this young man's story. What I want to say to you today is, we love the church, but what is happening is, God is moving outside the walls of the church in a very powerful way, and by the way, he's got a whole lot of extra shops now, all over Glasgow, and that's all he's doing. He's selling these beautiful cooked potatoes but he's got the word of God on the counter! He's got Scriptures all over the place and he's making no apologies, and this young Englishman is captivated.Today, use what you've got for the Gospel of Jesus Christ!God bless you and goodbye.

David cries out: ”Create in me a clean heart, O God, And renew a steadfast spirit within me. Do not cast me away from Your presence, And do not take Your Holy Spirit from me.“ That was his prayer after he had committed adultery with Bathsheba, and the Prophet Nathan had come and exposed him. Then we go to Romans 10:13: “For whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” And you'll find that also in Acts 2:21.Anybody that calls upon the name, I said, anybody that calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved - the backslider, the thief, the murderer, the adulterer. Think about it: Moses, Zacchaeus, David, Paul, every one of them a sinner, called upon the name of the Lord, and they were gloriously saved and used by God.I want to tell you about a baseball player who lived in the 1800's. His name was Billy Sunday. He was a star player, one of the best in the world. On a Sunday afternoon, he was walking down the street in Chicago with a few of his baseball friends, and he went past a mission, a little city mission. He heard beautiful gospel songs being sung. He was a gambler, a drinker, and he used to swear like a trooper. What happened? He went in, he was called in by God, into that mission. They made an altar call after the preacher had preached. He went forward, knelt in public, cried out for forgiveness, and God miraculously saved him. He left a $3000 baseball contract and he became one of the greatest missionaries and evangelists that the world has ever known.I want to say to you today, I don't know where you are today, maybe you feel there's no hope for you? “I don't think that I have a second chance.” I want to tell you today, call upon the name of the Lord and He will hear you like He heard Billy Sunday and He will save you and give you a brand new life. “Whosoever” means literally any person, regardless of who, calls upon the name of Jesus Christ shall be saved. It happened to me, it can happen to you. I want to pray the sinner's prayer with you right now. Father God, In the name of Jesus Christ and by the power of the Holy Spirit, I repent of all my sins, and I ask you once more to be the Lord of my life.Amen.Go out now and tell the first three people you meet what you've done. She thought He was the gardener: “Sir, please tell me where you have put Him and I will take Him away', and the voice, it was the voice that she knew. I want to ask you a question this morning, and I am asking myself the same question, do we know His voice? Mary knew the voice of Jesus. Straight away she said, “Rabboni!” I have heard that many young Muslims in Iran at the moment are having dreams, and they are seeing a Man dressed in a white robe with eyes of fire, talking to them. Now I want you to read the Word of God and you will see in the Book of Revelation, that is the description of Jesus Christ. In 2003, I was in the game reserve in the north of Kwazulu-Natal, and the Lord spoke to me so clearly in my heart, “Go home, cancel all of your preaching appointments. I want you to mentor young men.” That was the foundation and the beginning of the Mighty Men phenomenon that is going right around the world as I speak to you today. This very year, we are having Mighty Men Conferences in Europe, in Australasia, in America, all over Africa - and we give the glory to God. Today, you need to really start to listen to the voice of God. “But” you say to me, “how will we know His voice?” Well, how do you know the voice of anyone? How do you know my voice? Because you listen to it and you hear it every single morning. Isn't that right? People meet me at the airport. They don't know what I look like but when I open my mouth they turn around and they say, “We know who that is” because they hear my voice. Now, when you spend time with Jesus Christ every single day, you will learn to hear His voice and He will direct you, and by the way, He says very clearly in Revelation 22:20, He who testifies to these things says, “Surely I am coming quickly.” Amen! We start in the Book of Exodus 34:2: “So be ready in the morning, and come up in the morning to Mount Sinai, and present yourself to Me there on the top of the mountain.” That is the Lord speaking to Moses early in the morning. Then we go to the Gospel of Mark 1:35: ”Now in the morning, having risen a long while before daylight, He went out and departed to a solitary place; and there He prayed.” That was Jesus Himself, early in the morning, the best time of the day. I have told you this many, many times. We need to start the day early in the morning with the Lord. Joseph Parker was a great preacher. He lived a long time ago and this is what he wrote:Sweet morning, there is hope in it's music,Blessed is the day whose morning is sanctified (set aside), Successful is the day whose first victory was won in prayer,Holy is the day whose dawn finds you on top of the mountain.(Listen to this) Health is established in the morning,Wealth is won in the morning,The light is brightest in the morning. We will stop there. I want to say to you today, it is time to start getting up a little bit earlier in the morning. Now, when Martin Luther, the great reformer was really, really busy, they said to him, “What do you do when your day is so busy? How do you handle it? Do you know what he said? He said, “I get up earlier in the morning.” So in other words, he didn't make his quiet time shorter because of the busy schedule for the day. No, he kept his quiet time the same length. He just got up earlier.I really want to encourage you to do that because that is what I have been doing for many, many years. The Lord speaks to me clearly early in the morning before the things of the world clutter up my mind. I get specific direction from Him, comfort from Him, health from Him. Set this time aside. Let your family know, let your children know, let your wife know, “I am spending time with God”, and they will not only respect you for that but they will also feel secure. Dad is praying, he is spending time with the Lord. Mom is praying, she is spending time with the Lord. Do you know what that does for children? It gives them security. Now, if you want to hear from God, get up in the morning. Maybe you need to go to bed a little bit earlier at night. Jesus bless you and have a beautiful quiet time this morning.Goodbye.

We go to the Book of Galatians 6:7: (Amplified Version) “Do not be deceived, God is not mocked [He will not allow Himself to be ridiculed, nor treated with contempt nor allow His precepts to be scornfully set aside]; for whatever a man sows, this and this only is what he will reap.” Wow! Strong words, a warning to us, a caution - be careful what you are sowing. Now you know, as a farmer, I understand the importance of sowing good seed. It is the most important part for any arable farmer, he will tell you, because whatever he sows, whatever he plants in that field, that is what he is going to reap. The worst thing a farmer can ever do is to hold back some of his finances and buy cheap, inferior seed because from the start he is going to lose. Now, one big seed company had a slogan which I often use and I think it is very appropriate and this is what it says, “Good seed doesn't cost, it pays.” Now, what good seed are we talking about? We are talking about sowing love, we are talking about sowing patience, understanding, we are talking about being generous, we are talking about taking care of widows and orphans, we are talking about sowing into the word of God. That's good seed. We are sowing love in our families, patience with our children, loving our husbands and our wives. Good seed - what you sow is what you reap. I have seen it so many times in my life, and if you sow bad seeds like self-centredness, anger, hatred, or greed, that is exactly what you will reap.I want to pray for you this morning that you and I will start sowing only good seed in our lives, and that God will guarantee we will reap a bountiful harvest. Let us pray:Father,I want to pray this morning for my dear friend listening today to this thought for today. Oh Jesus, through the power of Your Holy Spirit, convict them today to stop being selfish, to stop being so concerned about ourselves that we forget our fellowman. Do you know that Joshua and Caleb were 80 years old when their real work began, when they had to take over from Moses and take a grumbling, moaning, rebellious nation into the promised land? What a task. God loved Caleb. You know Caleb had a spirit that was totally different to anybody else's. When Joshua said to Caleb, right at the end, ”Because of your faithfulness, you can have anything you want.” He said, ”Give me the big mountains where the big giants live.” Over 80 years old. Now come on boys, come on ladies, it's never too late. Faithfulness, even when the crowd did not remain faithful! If I had to ask you, ”Give me one word to describe Caleb?” He was faithful, that's what he was, and that's why God loved him so much. He did not become discouraged by what other people thought of him. He refused to be influenced by the negative talk and attitude of the majority. He remained steadfast, keeping his eyes fixed on God, right through his lifetime. He didn't blow hot and cold, and he didn't allow the tough things in life to keep him back from the fight, and of course, what happened? Yes, he had the victory. Today, many of you, including me must be careful that the fear of man does not hold us back. Caleb had no fear of man. He didn't care what people thought of him; his only concern was what God thought of him. Today, ask God to give you that same different spirit, not the spirit of this world but the Spirit of God, the Spirit that is resolute. Hebrews 12:1:”Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses…” We've got people in heaven that are cheering us on, we've got to finish strong! We've got to be like Caleb. We've got to be leaders.Jesus Christ bless you today as you remain faithful to God. He will not let you down. Goodbye.

I greet you in Jesus' precious name! It is Tuesday morning, the 10th of March, 2026, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today. We start in the Gospel of Luke 24:51:”… while He blessed them, that He was parted from them and carried up into heaven.” Then we go to Acts 1:11:“…Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven.” Then the last scripture is Hebrews 12:1:”Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses,…” Jesus is coming back again! Oh Lord, we can't wait. Today would not be soon enough. He's coming back the same way He left. He left from the top of the Mount of Olives just outside Jerusalem. He said He's coming back again to fetch you and me. Oh Granny, keep strong! Oh, Grandad, keep your eyes lifted up! Young man, young lady just keep running the race! That is the way we are going to finish this race.I am what you call a cloud watcher. Every day when I get up, and I look at those magnificent clouds building up, I say, ”Lord, is it today?” He's coming back the same way He left. He's coming back from heaven to earth in the clouds to come and to fetch you and me and to take us home to be with Him in glory, but until that time, you and I have to keep on running this race. Keep on looking up, opening our eyes and thanking Jesus for every single opportunity every day we have to sow good seed because He's coming back, as He promised, to take us home to be with Him in paradise. So today, remember, if Christ is for us, who can possibly stand against us. Jesus bless you and have a wonderful day.Goodbye.

I greet you in Jesus' precious name! It is Monday morning, the 9th of March, 2026, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today. We start in 2 Samuel 22:36: “Your gentleness has made me great”. That is what King David said about God. Then we go to Matthew 19:14: “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of heaven.”What had happened was that the disciples were trying to chase the little children away from Jesus because He was very tired. Gentleness - gentleness means mild, kind, tender, sympathetic, understanding, compassionate, soft. Oh, my dear friend, you can gauge the heart of a man or a woman by the way they treat little children. As I get older, I am becoming observant of that very fact. I will go to a crowded place, I will sit quietly and watch the way the people treat the little children. The man who can stop in his busyness and get down on his knees so he has the same eye contact as a little child, and say, “How are you?” - and speak to them, oh, that is a man who is really walking with God. William Arnott said, “The gentleness of Christ is the comeliest ornament that a Christian can wear.” - The most beautiful ornament. When I see a man or a woman get down on their knees sometimes in the dust, just to engage a small child, I see the gentleness of Christ, and it is like a very special ornament. It warms them to my soul. On the other hand, unfortunately, if a man or a woman is too busy, too busy organising things, too busy running around, they just about run over the top of the children; there is a problem there. Check your heart. What would Jesus do? I tell you what He would do. He would stop the show! He would stop the meeting because one little child just wanted to greet Him, and probably give them a wonderful hug and love them. Let's do that today. Have a blessed and gentle day today.Jesus bless you and goodbye.

I greet you in Jesus' precious name! It is Sunday morning, the 8th of March, 2026, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today. We start in Psalm 34:19: “Many are the afflictions of the righteous, But the Lord delivers him from them all.” Then we go to Romans 5:3-4. Paul says: “And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, character; and character, hope.” I looked up the Oxford Dictionary to find out the literal meaning of the word “persecution” It said, “subject to prolonged hostility and ill treatment.” How many people are being persecuted today in the world? Probably more than ever before. We are hearing about atrocities taking place in India, where Christian churches are being burnt down, and Christians are being martyred for their faith. We hear about the church in China, also severely persecuted, never mind the Middle East - what about Syria? The Lord is with us even though the persecution is increasing. But what I want to talk to you about today is not the persecution in the churches around the world. I am talking about at home, oh yes, in your very own home. Mom, dad, stop hassling your children because they want to go to church. Please don't do that. I want to say to dad, don't worry if you are getting persecuted at work because of your stand for Jesus Christ. The Lord says that He will deliver you from them all. I want to say to that young student, that young girl who is standing tall for the Lord, “Uncle Angus, it is like I am all on my own.” No, you're not all on your own. Remember the prophet said that and the Lord said, “There are another 7,000 prophets in the next valley.” But stand tall, do not compromise your faith for anybody or anything. Even that relationship that you are in, young man. Control yourself until the day of your wedding, otherwise you will get yourself into a terrible position and you will be persecuted for your actions. We really need to rejoice when we are hard-pressed, because that means we are doing something right. People don't like what you are doing because they don't like the stand you are making for Christ. So if you don't drink alcohol, that is fine, but don't compromise for the sake of being popular. Today, stand tall because He will deliver you from all of those persecutors. Jesus bless you and goodbye.

I greet you in Jesus' precious name! It is Saturday morning, the 7th of March, 2026, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today. We start in Numbers 14:9: “…and the Lord is with us. Do not fear them.”Then, of course, we go to that well-known scripture in 2 Timothy 1:7: “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” The only thing we have to fear today is fear itself. Now remember, twelve spies went into the Land of Milk and Honey, and they came back with a report. Two of them with a good report and ten with a bad report: “There are giants in there, and if we go in there they are going to kill us”. But you see, Joshua and Caleb, and by the way, they were not youngsters (those men were in their eighties), they said, “We need to go up.” They had their eyes on Jesus, the other ten spies had their eyes on the situation and that is maybe your problem today and mine - our eyes are on the wrong place! The only thing we need to fear is fear itself. How do you combat fear? I can hear some ladies saying to me, “But how do I get rid of this fear?” Well, it is a very simple answer. It is found in Romans 10:17: “So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” That is how you get rid of fear, by faith, not anything else, and you get faith by reading your Bible and also believing it. Remember, faith is not a feeling. Faith is a fact, it is a reality, and that is how Joshua and Caleb lived, and they went into the Promised Land by faith, faith in God.I want to tell you about fear and what fear can do to you. Fear paralyses you. My one son is a horse trainer, and he told me a while back that I should know that, I am also riding horses. He said, “Dad, when you are within one metre, that is three feet, from a horse, that horse knows whether you are afraid or not, and that will determine how that horse responds to you, because if you are afraid of that horse, straight away that horse wonders, “Why is that person afraid?” And they become very fearful themselves, and that is when they sometimes bolt or they try and buck you off, but if you walk up to that horse in faith and love, pat him nicely on the neck and hug him and say, “Hello my boy, today, you and I are going for a ride”, then you'll enjoy your ride. Remember, God has not given you a spirit of fear, but of power, and of love and of a sound mind.Have a wonderful day,Jesus bless you and goodbye.

I greet you in Jesus' precious name! It is Friday morning, the 6th of March, 2026, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today. We go to the Gospel of John 21:22: ”Jesus said to him, “If I will that he remain till I come, what is that to you? You follow Me.” That's what Jesus said to Peter when Peter wanted to know what was going to happen to John. I think the Lord is saying to you and me this morning that what other people are doing is not your business. They belong to God and God will deal with them in His own time.I think of Saul of Tarsus, who persecuted the Christians terribly, and then he got converted, and became Paul the Apostle. Probably, in my humble opinion, the greatest of all the apostles in the Bible, and I can hear a young man, a young girl, saying, ”I wish that I could be like Paul the Apostle.” Well if you look at 2 Corinthians 11:23, you will see how much it cost Paul to be an apostle for Jesus Christ. He gives a whole list of what he went through to follow the Master in his calling. Jesus gives us enough grace for our work and our calling. He says that His grace is sufficient for you and me. Do not be concerned about how other people are living. “Can you drink of the cup?” That's what He asked James and John. They said, ”We can.” And He said, ”and you will.” I want to tell you that 1 Timothy 6:6, is a very special scripture to me, ”Now godliness with contentment is great gain.” Be satisfied with your lot, where you are in life, and be grateful to God, and pray for those who have a tremendous burden to carry, but don't ask for things that you cannot handle, because those will trip you up eventually. The Lord knows how much you can take, and as He said to Peter, ”It's got nothing to do with you, what I'm going to do with John. You follow me.”Today, follow the Lord and be content with what you've got.Jesus bless you and have a wonderful day.Goodbye.

We start in the Book of Joshua 14:8: ”Nevertheless my brethren who went up with me made the heart of the people melt, but I wholly followed the Lord my God.” Then we go to Numbers 13:33: ”There we saw the giants (the descendants of Anak came from the giants); and we were like grasshoppers in our own sight, and so we were in their sight.” Oh folks, how do you feel this morning? Do you feel like a son of God or do you feel like a grasshopper? That's the question we need to ask ourselves. What is that giant in your life that is holding you back today from being an obedient child of God? You see the devil calls us grasshoppers. He says, you'll never make it, you're a failure, you messed up once before or twice or three times and you are done and dusted. No no! Jesus says that we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. Do you remember that beautiful song? It was written many years ago and some of the lyrics sound like this: When others see a shepherd boy, God may see a king,Even though your life seems filled with ordinary things, In just a moment, He can touch you and everything will change,When others see a shepherd boy, God may see a king.I want to say to you today, God did not create you or me to be grasshoppers. He created us to be the sons of God. “Yes Angus, but you don't know what I'm going through.” No I don't, but I know that anything is possible and all things are possible for those who believe. Remember those two words, “But God”. When people say, ”You'll never make it.” You say, “But God”. When people say, ”You've got no education, you'll never qualify”, “But God”. When people say, ”You will never be healed, you are dying.” You say, “But God”. Now I want to pray for you, and I want to pray that God will turn you and me from grasshoppers into kings, into princes, into princesses.Father, I pray in Jesus name, for my friend who is listening to this program right now. Lord, change our outlook. Change our attitude. We are not grasshoppers, we are sons and daughters of the living God. In Jesus name, amen.God bless you and have a wonderful day.Goodbye.

I greet you in Jesus' precious name! It is Wednesday morning, the 4th of March, 2026, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today. We go to John 21:12: “Jesus said to them, “Come and eat breakfast.” Then further down in verse 15, Jesus says to Peter: “Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me more than these?”Every time the Lord Jesus wanted to speak very directly, personally and intimately with his disciples, what did He say? “Come and have a meal.” In fact, the last time that He had a meal with His disciples, in the Upper Room, He taught them some very important truths. He taught them that if we are going to be servants of the Lord, then we have to humble ourselves. It is an intimate time, isn't it, having a meal. There is no rushing, it is a heart-to-heart normally, because that is exactly what happened on the shore of the Sea of Galilee when Jesus asked Simon Peter, the most important question of all. “Do you love Me?” “Oh”, he says, “yes, I love You, Lord.” And then Jesus said, “Feed My lambs.” And of course, the disciples did just that.I love going into Central Africa and into the rural areas, where the people are very poor, but so loving and so generous. When you are invited into one of those huts, you sit in a circle and they bring in their meagre food. It is normally a big bowl of maize meal, and then they bring in a smaller bowl of the delicacy of meat made with beautiful gravy. We sit in a circle, and we take some of the maize meal and we make it into a round ball and then we very carefully dip it into the relish and we eat, but the main purpose is we talk to each other and we love each other. Two of my children's weddings were breakfast weddings. The one was in our farm shed and we sat around and spoke together for hours. Today, spend time with someone, invite them for breakfast and tell them about the Lord Jesus Christ. Have a wonderful day and enjoy your breakfast.Goodbye.

I greet you in Jesus' precious name! It is Tuesday morning, the 3rd of March, 2026, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today. We go to the last book of the Bible, Revelation 3:20: “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.“ So often we want to receive from God. How often do we want to give God what we have? I can hear somebody say, “I have got nothing to give Him.” Oh yes, you have plenty to give Him. Do you remember the little boy that Jesus asked the disciples to find out if any of the men, 5000 of them, had anything, any food, to give Him? I am sure many of those men had food, but they were not giving it to Jesus. There was a little boy, his mommy had probably packed him a little lunch bag and said, “There are two little sardines and five little barley loaves of bread. You go and have that lunch when you go and listen to Jesus.” He gave his all to Jesus. Jesus took it, prayed over it, multiplied it and fed 5000 men. But you see, the little boy gave to Jesus. Now, this Bible verse is two-fold. The Lord said, “I will come in and dine with you and you with Me.” Now, what is it that we can give to the Lord? Well, I want to tell you a little story. My wife, Jill, and I were up in Central Africa many years ago, staying with a very poor family. These Zambians had very little to eat, but this pastor had a small congregation. His congregation came every day, and they brought one egg each, and those eggs were to feed Jill and me. We had two fried eggs every morning, and every morning they brought food for us. Now, we had plenty of food, and they knew that, but they brought what they had to us. That touched me so deeply. I didn't even want to eat the eggs, but I knew if I didn't, I would have offended them. So I ate those eggs heartily and thanked them, and blessed them for their love towards Jill and I. I want to tell you, Jesus today is saying, “What have you got for me? I am coming in to dine with you, to eat your food, and I want you to eat My food.” We need to share what we have with one another because He says “As much as you have done it unto the least of these, My brethren, you have done it to Me.” If you feed someone today who cannot repay you, you are feeding the Lord. Jesus bless you and have a wonderful day.Goodbye.

We start in the Gospel of Luke 5:5: “But Simon answered and said to Him, “Master, we have toiled all night and caught nothing; nevertheless at Your word I will let down the net.” Then we know what happened after that. He caught so many fish that the net was breaking, and he had to call the other disciples to help him pull in a massive catch. Then we go to Galatians 6:9: “And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.” Once more, once more - you say, “I can't.” You can and you must. Cast it out once more, cast that net out. “But we have tried everything, and it is not working." “Once more”, the Lord said to the disciples. They said, “We have been fishing all night. He said, “Once more.”Remember the story, I think I have told it to you maybe a few years ago, about the Scottish King, Robert the Bruce. He was getting a terrible hiding from the English, and he was hiding in a cave. He was just about all done. He had tried everything, and he sat in that cave, and he saw a spider. This spider was trying to swing across the mouth of the cave from one side to the other, and he watched it. It tried once, it failed, it tried twice, it failed, it tried three times and it failed. It kept doing it and eventually got to the other side. That Scottish King went outside, he rallied his troops, and he won the battle.I want to say to you today, I don't know what it is, maybe it is healing that you are looking for for your body. Maybe it's a relationship. You say, “I just can't do any more.” Once more, go and see them once more, cast your net out once more. That crop that I planted, nothing is coming up. Plant again. Those animals that I am trusting for, for healing, just keep on trusting God and He will see you through. Jesus bless you and have a wonderful day.Goodbye.

I greet you in Jesus' precious name! It is Sunday morning, the 1st of March, 2026, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today. We start in the Book of Numbers 12:4: “Suddenly the Lord said to Moses, Aaron and Miriam, ”Come out you three, to the tabernacle of meeting!” So the three came out.' Then we go to Ephesians 5:22:”Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord.” Then verse 25: ”Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave Himself for her,…” Then the last one is Ephesians 6:1: ”Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.” We're talking about family. You know it's the hardest place to be a Christian, in your own home! Let's be honest with each other this morning. We are talking about an incredible family. Aaron, Moses and Miriam. Do you know that Miriam was the older sister of Moses and Aaron was Moses' older brother, he was Moses' right-hand man? This wasn't just any family. This was a very special family in God's eyes and yet they fell out. They had an argument, so badly that God had to intervene, and He told them to behave themselves.I want to say to you today, you have been put in a family by God. You can't choose your family, can you? Yes, what do they say? You can choose your friends, but you can't choose your family. We need to work it out. Now God put a system in the family and this is how it works, I'm telling you, it says it in the Bible: Wives, you are to submit to your husbands, husbands you are to love your wives, and the Bible says, children you are to obey your parents. If you get that right then you are going to have a very special family. So what can we do about it? Number one, we need to start praying together every day. ”No, but I don't want to.” It's not about what you want. It's about what God wants. Pray together, all of you, whether it's in the morning before you go to school, or go to work, or whether it's in the evening before you go to bed, pray together. What's the next thing? Talk to each other. Sit down and talk about it. That's exactly what happened with Moses, Aaron and Miriam and God sorted it out.I remember an old couple. They told me that they used to lie on their bed on a Sunday afternoon and talk about all the things that had gone wrong during the week, and ask each other for forgiveness and get ready to face the new week. Jesus bless you and have a wonderful day together as a family. Goodbye.
