This is message 30 in Gospel Record of John John 10:1-21 True security and abundant life are found only in the One who knows His people personally, leads them faithfully, and gives Himself for their sake. Unlike false voices that seek to use and destroy, He calls, guides, and protects with perfect care and love. His authority is not forced but recognized by those who hear and trust His voice. The greatest proof of His goodness is that He willingly laid down His life so that others might live, offering both safety and a lasting relationship to all who follow Him. March 30 "I Am the Good Shepherd" John 10:11-18Sheep are vulnerable to predators and their own devices, such as getting lost. For these reasons, sheep thrive under the guidance and protection of their shepherd. The shepherd knows his sheep, and they know their shepherd. When Jesus calls himself "the good shepherd," He means that He knows us and will not only care for and protect us but also lay down His life for us."I Am"Lent is the season of preparation for Easter, a time to reflect deeply on Jesus- his identity, teachings, and death on the cross—so we can fully understand and celebrate His resurrection. This year, we will focus on the "I am" statements in the Gospel of John. While all four Gospels include instances where Jesus uses the Greek phrase "ego eimi," meaning "I am," John's Gospel records Jesus doing so over 30 times, more than twice the other Gospels combined. Among these, seven instances feature profound metaphors that Jesus used to describe Himself. Throughout Lent, we will explore these seven metaphors, gaining a deeper and richer understanding of who Jesus was and is. What exactly does a shepherd do and what does that have to do with Jesus? Join us as we talk about Jesus, Sheep and the statement " I Am The Good Shepherd."
Today we continue our theme for Advent by reflecting on John 10:11-21, I Am the Good Shepherd. When Jesus calls himself the Good Shepherd, he immediately points to how his willingness to lay down his life for his sheep; He is fully committed to providing for and protecting his sheep from the dangers around. The second thing we learn about Jesus as the Good Shepherd is that he knows us, he knows who we are—our hopes and dreams, our fears and failures, our desires and struggles—he knows in a way that no one else ever can and loves us for who we are.
One of the most beautiful I Am of the Lord is that He is The Good Shepherd. He calls us and we hear him. He laid down His life for us. He pursues His lost sheep. Its a beautiful picture of true love! The post I Am The Good Shepherd appeared first on Gospel Mission Church.

John 10:1—21 || "I Am The Door... I Am The Good Shepherd" || Josh King by Meridian Church
Hey everyone I'm Gary Hoban and welcome to Refinery Life Church. Our new sermon series is titled “The Adequacy of Jesus Christ.” As God promised to be adequate to meet the needs of Moses and the children of Israel, so to Jesus also claimed divine adequacy. The great “I Am's” of the Gospel of John are the texts we will be working through for these messages. Today we are talking about I Am The Good Shepherd. The shepherd's life was not to be envied. It was hard and constant. Paid holidays were unheard of. The shepherd's workweek was twenty four hours a day seven days a week. He faced the elements of nature in all their fury. He endured the dangers of thieves, poachers, and wild beasts. Because there was little grass, he was bound to lead the sheep in a constant search of food. Veterinary skills were also part of his trade. Many who listened to Jesus were well aquatinted with the life of a shepherd, so He used their knowledge of the shepherd and the sheep to illustrate His own relation to God's true believers.
