The lights are dimmed, the band is tight, and the coffee in the lobby is artisan-grade. By almost every visible metric, the modern church in the West looks like it's thriving. But if we pull back the curtain, we find a quiet, devastating emergency. We have become experts at filling seats, yet we are struggling to form souls. We are living through what I call a "Discipleship Crisis." It is a strange time to be a believer. We have more access to Bibles, podcasts, and worship songs than any generation in human history, yet biblical illiteracy is at an all-time high. We find ourselves easily swayed by the latest political outrage or social media trend, often blending our faith with the world's ideas until the Gospel is barely recognizable. This is what happens when we settle for "Consumer Christianity"—a version of faith that treats church like a weekly entertainment commodity rather than a call to a radical, sacrificial life. The hard truth is that we are all being discipled by something. If we aren't being shaped by the Word of God, we are being shaped by secular algorithms, cable news, and the endless scroll of social media. These digital "masters" are designed to keep us distracted, anxious, and self-centered. They are like junk food for the soul—they provide a quick hit of dopamine but leave us spiritually malnourished. Jesus warned us that the road to life is narrow (Matthew 7:14). It's time we stop playing it safe in the pews and start counting the cost of what it actually means to follow the Master.

Hope is a great thing to have and it can be readily had if you make it a daily thing to have.  We have hope in our Savior.  In this psalm David speaks of his hope in our God.  It needs to be habitual, the "go to" thing to have.Frank Spalding and the preaching team at Lincoln Hills Christian Church welcomes all those seeking to know more about the Real Jesus and how to be an active disciple.

The problem with understanding the Bible for just about all of us is that we all come to the Bible with our OWN way of thinking. We've already decided what God is like and what we are like. Unfortunately, it is usually a very wrong assessment. In the gospel of Luke, Chapter 15 the Lord Jesus Christ tells a story that we know now as 'the prodigal son'. But there is more to the story than the son who left home for a far country and later returned to his father. You see, the Lord Jesus was telling the story to a group of self-righteous Pharisees. Yes, the prodigal son certainly needed forgiveness all right, but so did the religious congregation. You see, they ALL needed a 'change of mind'. They needed to look at reality the way that God reveals it to us in His Word. And so do we! I trust that our message today will help YOU to align your thoughts and reasonings to what God wants you to know.

Growing up in a tightly controlled religious system can make truth hard to recognize, especially when fear, shame, and manipulation shape every part of life. Ray, E.Z., Mark, and Oscar sit down with Taleah Hall to hear her powerful testimony of leaving Jehovah's Witnesses and encountering the true gospel of grace. The guys explore psychological and spiritual control within cult systems, discussing how information, behavior, and even language can be manipulated to keep people trapped. Taleah shares how she spent years believing she was serving God while never truly understanding salvation, grace, or the identity of Jesus Christ. Her story reveals both the pain of deception and the freedom that comes when the truth of Scripture is finally understood.The conversation examines key beliefs in Jehovah's Witness doctrine and why many members struggle when confronted with biblical truth. Taleah explains that Jehovah's Witnesses are often trained to avoid deep theological discussion and to rely heavily on organizational teaching. After exploring New Age beliefs and wrestling with confusion, she cried out to God, asking Him to reveal Himself if He was real. The next day, she met a young boy who unexpectedly shared the gospel with her. As he walked through sin, repentance, and salvation, Taleah became overwhelmed with conviction and suddenly understood the truth about Jesus and the gospel of grace. That moment radically transformed her life, and she describes it as experiencing the reality of being born again for the first time.Finally, the guys discuss practical ways for believers to witness to Jehovah's Witnesses with compassion and clarity. Rather than getting trapped in endless apologetic debates, the focus should remain on the gospel itself. Taleah encourages Christians to ask thoughtful questions, avoid unnecessary arguments, and genuinely love the people standing at their doors. The guys emphasize that salvation does not come through religious organizations or works but through grace alone, by faith in Christ.
