"A King is Coming" echos through all of the Old Testament pointing us forward to the coming of the Savior. But He did not show up like one may expect. Take a listen to this seasonal message of the Kinghood of Jesus.
This week Pastor Mike explores the announcement of the coming King to Mary.
In this Advent message, Pastor Jessica invites us to slow our pace and enter the season with openness, longing, and hope. Rooted in Isaiah 11, she reflects on the image of a new shoot rising from a stump, a powerful reminder that God brings life where things feel cut back, weary, or broken. Through honest storytelling and thoughtful exploration of Scripture, we are invited to name the pain we see in our world while also holding fast to the promise of shalom. True peace is not something we manufacture through traditions or effort. It is a gift from the promised King who brings justice, restoration, and wholeness. This sermon offers a steady invitation to wait with hope and trust the God who is always at work making all things new.

The Greatest Story Of All Time is our Christmas 2025 series at Fusion Christian Church. In this series we look at some of the ways God foreshadowed the Christmas story throughout the bible. For part 2, Pastor Zac teaches about the ultimate end of the story, when Jesus returns to rule the nations. What you bow to has command over your life.We often allow the wrong things to run our lives. Sometimes our schedules make us feel like passengers on a train that runs itself. What we choose to bow to will control us. That is why we must choose to submit to the right throne, and Jesus' throne is the one above all others. What are some reasons to choose to submit to Jesus?Jesus is the everlasting king. The bible clearly teaches that Jesus is eternal and will be king forever. If his kingdom and throne are established forever, then he is the ultimate ruler. So the question is: why do we stop following him? Why do we continue to rebel instead of submitting to Jesus? This question is brought into more light by the next point.Jesus is the King of kings and Lord of lords. There were many kings and many lords on earth when Jesus came the first time. They did not want to submit to him. The same is true now, There are many rulers on the earth, but Jesus is Lord over all of them. This does not mean they all recognize Jesus' authority. They deny it for the same reason the average person does. We want to keep control for ourselves. We don't want to bend the knee to someone else. Jesus is the King who is coming. The bible does not end with Jesus leaving his followers behind. Instead, not only does he promise to send the Holy Spirit to us, but he promises to come again. This is the hope of Christianity: that our savior will return as Lord and King to rule the nations and set all things right.

Right from the beginning…from before creation began, the Bible says…He set these things in motion…
The King is Coming. Get Off the Throne! Matthew 21:1–11 | The Triumphant Entry Advent begins with a stunning announcement. The King is coming. Get off your throne. Like Humpty Dumpty, we love to sit on thrones that are not ours, trying to rule our own lives. And like Humpty, we fall. Sin is more than bad behavior. It is the pride of self-rule, the illusion that we are in control, the stubborn belief that we answer to no one. And once we shatter, we cannot put ourselves back together again. Yet Advent begins with hope. The true King comes to restore the broken. In the Collect of the Day we pray, “Stir up Your power, O Lord, and come.” We confess that we cannot save ourselves from the perils of our sins. We ask God to come into our darkness, pride, and fractured lives. And He does. Not by calling us upward, but by coming downward in His Son. Jesus enters Jerusalem on a humble donkey. He comes not with force but with mercy, not to be served but to save. His throne will be a cross. His crown will be thorns. His victory will be His death and resurrection. This is the King who answers our Advent prayer with His suffering and with His life-giving triumph. Christ continues to come to His people even now. In His Word, in Holy Baptism, and in His Supper He gathers the fallen and makes them whole. At His altar, the King gives His own body and blood for forgiveness and strength. The King is coming. Let every heart prepare Him room. ----- Worship Times Sunday – 8:00 & 10:45 a.m. Monday – 6:30 p.m. https://trinitysheboygan.org https://facebook.com/trinitysheboygan We are a congregation of the Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod. Through the end of the year we get to shift our focus to Malachi: The Sun Will Rise. The Minor Prophets (called that because they are shorter, not less important) are some of the least-read portions of the Bible for many Christians. They are perfect for Advent, though, because they address God's people in and after the exile. Malachi, in particular, is the last of the prophets that God spoke through before 400 years of silence. In Malachi's time the generation that rebuilt Jerusalem and rebuilt the Temple had died. The younger generations were disenchanted, disinterested, and faithless. They hadn't rejected God outright, but they were just going through the motions in complacency. ------------------------------------------- Connect with us on Social Media Website | Instagram | Threads | Facebook | Vimeo------------------------------------------- Download our AppApple App Store | Google Play Store
A great King has a great entrance...but a not so great first response. We can learn much on how to respond to God's Good News!
This powerful conclusion to the book of Revelation invites us to examine our hearts with a penetrating question: Are we truly longing for Christ's return? The epilogue of Revelation echoes seven times with the word 'come'—a divine number pointing to the perfection of God's invitation and promise. We discover that Christianity uniquely offers not a message of 'go, go, go' like every other religion or worldly system, but rather Christ standing before us saying 'come.' Before we ever had our come-to-Jesus moment, He had His come-to-us moment at Christmas. The sermon explores three comings of Christ: His first coming demonstrating salvation by grace, His second coming when we'll see His glory and be glorified with Him, and remarkably, His ongoing 'in-between' comings—those moments when Christ visits us powerfully through His Spirit in our present struggles. Through the beautiful allegory from The Chronicles of Narnia, where Shasta discovers that the one Lion was present through all his trials, we're reminded that Jesus has been faithfully present through every hardship, every stumble, every season of faithlessness. The call isn't just to be ready for Christ's return, but to be eager for it—because it's this longing that keeps us persevering in faith through tribulation and spiritual warfare until He comes.
As we reach the final words of Scripture, we're confronted with a profound question: what does it truly mean to long for Jesus' return? The epilogue of Revelation isn't just a gentle wrap-up—it's a spiritual mirror reflecting the deepest desires of our hearts. Three times in these closing verses, Jesus declares, 'Behold, I am coming soon,' and each repetition carries urgent weight. We're called to fix our gaze not on the distractions of this world, but on the One who is restoring all things. The ancient cry 'Maranatha'—come, Lord Jesus—becomes the identifying mark of those who truly belong to Him. But here's the uncomfortable truth we must wrestle with: do we genuinely want Jesus more than the gifts He brings? Would paradise still be paradise for us if Jesus wasn't there? This passage challenges us to examine where the world still has a pull on our hearts, where we're still saying 'not yet' instead of 'come.' As we enter the Advent season, remembering when the world longed for Jesus' first coming, we're invited to cultivate that same desperate longing for His return. The question isn't whether we believe He's coming—it's whether we're living with a forward lean into His kingdom, surrendering our own agendas and crying out with genuine anticipation for Him to come and make all things new.

Today is the first Sunday of Advent for 2025. Where can you find hope in the world? We look to the Old Testament prophet Isaiah to point us toward Christ, the Messiah. Jesus is the only source of true hope, both then and now. Scripture text is Isaiah 9:1-7.
This Sunday marks the beginning of Advent as we look toward the coming of Christ with hope. In Matthew 2:112 we discover that God placed far more in the manger than anyone expected. The gold, frankincense and myrrh point to Jesus as our King, our Priest and our Saviour. As we enter this season together we will reflect on what it means to receive Him fully and to trust the greatness of the One who came to us in such a humble way. Join us as we begin Advent with hope and worship.

The King is Coming Back - Pastor Josh Pate by Eastgate Church
Parables in the Book of Luke
When we're desperate, beaten down, and broken…that's when we long for a hero to come to our rescue, restore what's been taken from us, and protect us from future harm. The true King is exactly that kind of hero, and he is coming!
Drawing from Matthew 24–25, this message calls the Church to live alert and ready for Jesus' return—not in fear, but in the power of the Holy Spirit. Pastor unpacks a biblical timeline from Creation and the Fall to the present “age of grace,” and shows how Jesus' words—“stay awake” and “be ready”—translate into a life of repentance, holy living, and active service. You'll hear why belief must become action (John 14:12), what the parable of the ten virgins teaches about oil in our lamps, and how the hope of Christ's coming fuels urgency and love today. If you've been lukewarm, distracted, or delaying obedience, this is your wake-up call to receive grace and step into the “greater things” Jesus promised. Scripture Highlights Matthew 24:40–44; Matthew 25:1–13, 31–32; 1 Thessalonians 4:16–17; 2 Peter 3:10–11; John 14:12; Acts 2; 2 Corinthians 5:17 Takeaways The “age of grace” is an invitation to respond to Jesus now. True belief shows up in action—serving, forgiving, giving, and going. Stay spiritually awake: keep oil in your lamp (life in the Spirit). Live holy and ready—Jesus is coming, and our hope is secure in Him. Call to Action Need prayer or want to follow Jesus? Reach out to us or visit this Sunday—we'd love to walk with you.
Mark begins his Gospel with John's declaration that the Lord is about to show up and come to His temple. He goes on to warn us that like cities preparing for an arriving dignitary by repairing and cleaning up the road he will arrive on, we must clear off the road to our hearts. Repentance is seeing the sin in the desert of our heart's highway, clearing it off, and welcoming the King to come and reign in us.
Matthew 21:1-17
This additional teach by Pastor Marco is from the Gospel's of Luke and Mark and while it's not a part of the Luke's study we completed last week, it does pertain and is important to our Christian walk.
