Alex Ferrari and Aaron Abke discuss the origins of Christian theology, emphasizing that many core Christian beliefs, such as Original Sin and the concept of Jesus as God, trace back to Paul rather than Jesus. They argue that Jesus's teachings focused on repentance and love, contrasting with the later Greek and Hellenistic influences that distorted his message. Aaron highlights the Essenes' influence on Jesus's teachings, noting their unique practices like baptism for the remission of sins. They also discuss the historical evidence of Jesus's travels to Egypt, India, and Tibet, as documented in the Nicholas Notovich text, and the misrepresentation of Jesus's appearance and teachings by later Christian traditions.Alex Ferrari and Aaron Abke discuss the role of ego in human experience, arguing that ego is not inherently negative but essential for motivation and protection. Aaron's book, "The Sufferer's Guide to Freedom," posits that the ego must be integrated rather than eliminated, as it is an activity, not an entity. They explore the three core beliefs of ego: lack, attachment, and control, and how these manifest in negative emotions like sadness, anger, and fear. Aaron emphasizes the importance of understanding emotions as reflections of the mind and using them to reveal and address underlying beliefs. They also touch on the concept of nostalgia and the need for humanity to transcend fear to achieve self-realization.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/next-level-soul-podcast-with-alex-ferrari--4858435/support.

A Sermon for the Sixteenth Sunday after Trinity Ephesians 3:13-21 & St. Luke 7:11-17 by William Klock “The next day,” says St. Luke in our Gospel lesson, “Jesus went to a town called Nain.”  No doubt to preach the good news that, in him, the God of Israel had finally come to his people to fulfil his promises to them.  No doubt to heal the sick or the blind or the deaf or whoever else came to him to be healed.  No doubt to cast our demons.  Not just to tell them that God's kingdom was breaking into darkness of the world, but to show them.  To make the sad things untrue, as Sam Gamgee put it so eloquently.  But I expect that Jesus was frustrated.  Sure, crowds were following him wherever he went, but they didn't get it.  They wanted their own personal miracle worker and, like the people in Nazareth, they got angry with him when he wouldn't stay.  They knew—because it was impossible to miss—that in Jesus light had come into the darkness.  They knew hope for the first time.  But their vision of God's light and life was just so, so, so small.  And then there were people like the scribes and Pharisees who were angry because, if he was the Messiah, he was doing it all wrong.  They couldn't see past their rules and boundaries.  They had no grasp of the great height and width and length and depth of the love of God.  They were thrilled to have Jesus wipe away their tears and make the sad things of their lives untrue, but they were still committed to, still doing the very things that made the sadness in the first place. Luke says here, in 7:11, that this happened on the “next day”.  It was the day before that Jesus had been met by the friends of a Roman centurion with a sick slave.  He got word that Jesus was on his way to his house to heal his slave and sent words to say, “No, don't come to my house.”  He knew that as a gentile he wasn't part of Jesus' mission.  “No, Jesus, just say the word and my slave will be healed.  I know you've got authority to do it.”  And Jesus stopped and marvelled.  He healed the centurion's slave, but he also turned and rebuked the crowd that was following him: “How is it that I've found more faith in this gentile than in you lot, in God's own people?” And now, it's the next day, and he's on his way to Nain and the crowd has followed him from Capernaum.  It's about five miles.  And all the way he's been teaching his disciples and anyone else within earshot who will listen.  I expect Jesus was trying to broaden their vision of the kingdom and what it all meant.  And then they arrived at the city gate.  Luke writes, “As he got near the gate of the city, a young man was being carried out dead.  He was the only son of his mother, and she was a widow.  There was a substantial crowd of townspeople with her.” From a distance Jesus noticed that the town gate was unusually quiet and now he sees why.  Or maybe he heard it before he could see it, because as they got to Nain they met a burial procession coming through the gate.  There was the stretcher being carried by pallbearers and on it was the body of a young man.  Following behind was his mother, crying her eyes out and wailing loudly.  I wonder if Jesus knew them.  Nain wasn't far from Capernaum or from Nazareth, so it's entirely possible that Jesus knew these people or, at least, knew who they were.  Luke knew enough about them to report that the woman was a widow and that the young man was her only son.  Her husband was dead and now so was her only son and that meant that she was destitute.  That meant that she was without hope. The whole town was gathered and they wept and they wailed loudly so that she could weep without embarrassment.  They were on their way to the burial plot outside town.  There would have been a little cave.  Sort of a family plot, with the bones of her husband's ancestors.  Some time before she'd made this trip with her son by her side as the mourners carried her husband to that little cave and laid him to rest.  Eventually, she had gone and put his bare bones in a box, leaving the burial shelf empty.  And today she would put her son there.  And then what?  Come harvest time, she'd have to join the poor, gleaning in the fields and the vineyards, collecting whatever was left behind by the harvesters.  And she prayed no one would come to seize her house and turn her out into the street. And seeing her, Jesus knew her grief.  He knew her hopelessness.  And I wonder what went through his head.  Did he recognise an opportunity here to make a point about the bigger, deeper, wider meaning of the kingdom for the crowd following him?  I suspect it occurred to him.  But I think, more than anything, Jesus saw in this woman the pain and the sorrow and the tears of this fallen and broken world and he was overcome with love—because that's who he was.  The widow and the orphan have always had a special place in God's heart.  How they were treated was always—and still is—emblematic of whether or not the people had the heart of God themselves.  And so I think it was simply the most natural thing in the world for the heart of Jesus to be overwhelmed with love and pity for this woman and he simply did what came naturally to him. Luke writes, “And when the Lord saw her, he was very sorry for her.  ‘Don't cry,' he said to her.  Then he went up and touched the stretcher and the people carrying it stood still.” That would have been bad form for anyone else, but not for Jesus.  I still expect people were shocked.  You didn't get in the way of a funeral procession then any more than you do now.  But to touch the stretcher—that would render him unclean.  So the crowd watched in surprise or shock as Jesus stopped the procession.  And they heard him say to the woman, “Don't cry.”  And I can only imagine what they were thinking when he then went to the dead boy and said, “Young man, I say to you, ‘Get up!'”  They'd seen Jesus do some amazing things.  They'd seen him heal the sick and the blind and the lame, but could he actually raise the dead?  That was kind of over the top, even for Jesus.  And yet…there were stories from the old days.  Could the things in those old stories happen again? These people were deeply steeped in the scriptures and some of them must have recognised that what Jesus was doing had echoes of the stories they knew so well.  I say that because Luke recognised the parallels and makes a point of reporting this story very deliberately so that it echoes the stories of the prophets Elijah and Elisha—particularly Elijah in 1 Kings 17. Nine hundred years before, King Ahab had ruled Israel.  He was the latest in a line of wicked kings who did what was evil in the sight of the Lord.  Ahab built an altar to the Canaanite fertility god Baal in the Lord's temple and he led the people into idolatry and all sorts of unspeakable evils.  First Kings says that Ahab did more to provoke the Lord, the God of Israel, to anger than all the kings of Israel before him.  And so the Lord visited his people with a drought and the drought brought with it a famine.  And the Lord announced that drought and famine through the Prophet Elijah, whom he sent to the king.  Of course, that made Elijah rather unpopular with the king, so the Lord first led him to a hiding place in the wilderness, where he sent ravens to bring him bread and meat each morning and evening and where he could drink from a creek.  But when the creek dried up, the Lord sent him to the home of a widow and her only son. The widow had nothing left but enough flour and oil to make a small loaf of bread.  When Elijah met her, she was planning to bake the bread for herself and for her son as a last meal.  Then they would die.  But the Prophet told her to bake the bread for him in faith.  If she did that, he said, the Lord would keep her jars of flour and oil full as long as the famine lasted.  And so, in faith, she did as he told her and, in response, the Lord provided.  All through the famine the Lord took care of her.  Neither the flour nor the oil ran out. And then one day that poor widow's son became ill and died.  And she forgot all that the Lord had done through Elijah to keep her and her son alive and she berated the Prophet for bringing this on her.  And so Elijah took the boy and laid him on his bed, and stretching himself over the boy three times, he pleaded with the Lord to restore his life.  And the Lord heard and the boy rose up and Elijah took him to his mother.  When she saw her boy alive, she declared, “Now I know that you are a man of God, and that the word of the Lord in your mouth is truth.” That, of course, wasn't the end of the story.  This was all to spare Elijah from the wrath of King Ahab and eventually the Lord would send the Prophet back to the King to announce an end to the drought.  But it wasn't quite that simple.  The Lord told Elijah to challenge Ahab's pagan priests to a showdown.  Elijah would give them a chance to build and alter, offer a sacrifice, and to pray to Baal to end the drought, before building his own altar, offering a sacrifice, and praying to the Lord.  On the mountain, Baal's priests proved their god's impotence, while the Lord visited his people: sending down fire to consume Elijah's offering and then causing it finally to rain, while his priests slaughtered the priests of Baal who had led the people of Israel into idolatry. The story of Elijah and the widow of Zeraphath, situated in that bigger story of the God of Israel and the defeat of Ahab and his false god, it was a story about the Lord's love.  About the Lord's love for his people—a love so great that he would not let an evil king lead them off forever into idolatry and evil.  It was about the Lord's love for the poor and destitute.  And it was a story of hope.  The Lord will not let his people languish forever in sin and darkness and hopelessness.  When the time is right, he will visit his people, he will deal with sin and death, he will wipe away the tears, and he will set the world to rights. And it was that vision of the love of God that the people around Jesus—most of them, at any rate—it was that great vision of the love of God and the restoration of all things that they lacked.  When the Messiah came, they struggled to see him as anything more than their personal miracle-worker.  When it came to setting things to rights, they had trouble seeing any further than their desire for the Messiah to rain down fire and brimstone on the Romans and their pagan allies.  There were all these interest groups in Israel, from the Pharisees to the Sadducees, from the Essenes to the Zealots (well, the Zealots would come a few decades later, but their spiritual fathers were there in Jesus' day).  And they all had their own vision of what the Messiah would be and what he would do and what it would look like when the Lord finally came to visit his people.  And their visions of all of that were just so incredibly small and self-centred and lacking in grace and with no real grasp of how truly deep and wide the love of God is.  The crude idolatry that Israel had known in Elijah's day was long gone from Israel, but a more subtle idolatry had taken its place and it blinded people to who Jesus really was and what God was doing through him. But this day the God of those old “fairy tales” was going to burst into the present—like King Arthur returned to rescue Britain in its darkest hour.  That day at the gate of Nain, Jesus—like Elijah and like Elisha (that's another story Luke echoes, but we don't have time for this morning)—Jesus stopped the pallbearers, put his hands on the stretcher, and said to the dead boy, “Get up!”.  And instead of uncleanness passing from the dead boy to Jesus, the life of the living God passed from Jesus to the dead boy and, Luke tells us, “The dead boy sat up and began to speak, and he gave him to his mother.”  And her tears of sorrow turned in tears of joy.  Jesus not only raised her son, but he also gave the womam back her own life.  But the bigger thing, at least for Luke, was the response of the crowd.  “Fear”—or maybe better great awe—“came over all of them.  They praised God.  ‘A great prophet has risen amongst us!' they said.  ‘God has visited his people!'  And this report went out about him in the whole of Judaea and the surrounding countryside.” Many wondered if the God of those old stories was real.  They hadn't heard a prophet speak in centuries.  The same went for the raising of the dead.  And the glory cloud, God's presence in the temple, had been gone for five hundred years—if it had ever been there at all.  But now they knew.  The God of Israel was real and alive and he was working through Jesus.  But did they really get it now?  Yes and no, I think.  Even the disciples wouldn't really and fully get it until after they'd encountered Jesus risen from death.  And even then, they wouldn't really, really get it until Pentecost and the sending of the Spirit.  But Luke does seem to be saying that the people “got it” more than they had before.  They stood in awe because they knew they were somehow and in some way either in the presence of the God of Israel or in the presence of this representative and one who had his power and authority.  They knew they had seen God at work and so they praised him.  And when they proclaimed that a great prophet had risen up amongst them and that God has visited his people, they were exuberantly proclaiming that they now knew that God had once again come into the darkness to set things to rights like he had done back in the days of Elijah, because only the living God has such power over death.  And so they cheered even if they didn't understand or even if they still had messed up ideas about what it all meant or how it would play out.  They knew that in Jesus God had come to fulfil his promises: to right the wrongs, to wipe away the tears, and I think with this latest miracle, the hope dawned in some—maybe even many—that Jesus had come to defeat even death itself. It's important that in telling the story, Luke doesn't just look backward to Elijah.  The story echoes back into Israel's past, but it also looks forward.  Because Luke also deliberate tells this story in a way that anticipates the story we know so well, the story to which all of this is leading.  We meet Jesus at the cross, where sin and death did their worst, where Mary wept as he died.  And then, three days later as Jesus burst from the tomb alive again, having conquered both sin and death; as he wipes away the tears of another Mary, who mistook him for the groundskeeper because he was there tending the garden, like Adam restored to Eden. Brothers and Sisters, it's the final story, the climax of the Gospels, the story to which all these others lead us, it's there that we're confronted once and for all by the love of God made manifest in Jesus.  God gives his son to die in order to set the world to rights, in order to defeat sin and death, and he does it for the very people who broke his creation and brought sin and death into it when they rebelled against him.  That's love—and grace and mercy and patience and so much more—but above all it's love.  And Brothers and Sisters, it's love that overwhelms absolutely everything it encounters.  It's the love that finally opened the eyes of Jesus' disciples to understand that the Messiah wasn't their personal miracle worker or that he belonged to Israel alone—to set them on the top of the heap while raining down fire and brimstone on the gentiles.  No, the love of God made manifest in the crucified and risen Jesus is the love that reveals a plan to redeem not only Israel, but the nations and even creation itself.  And a love that will spare nothing to do so.  It was that love, encountered in the risen Jesus, that opened the eyes of Paul and turned him from being a persecutor of Jesus' people to being an evangelist, an apostle, a gospeller of the gospel—proclaiming the good news of this love made manifest in the death and resurrection of Jesus to the nations. Paul knew that this love that is already in the process of setting the world to rights, is the same love that will—if we can only begin to grasp its depths—this love will set us to rights.  This love will realign our affections and purge us of our idolatries and our sins.  This love will reveal the values and systems and plans and things of this old evil age to be the worthless garbage they are and will set our hearts and minds on God and on his kingdom.  But for that to happen we have to truly encounter God's love in Jesus.  This is why Paul, in our Epistle today from Ephesians, wrote to struggling Christians to say, “This is my prayer: that [God] will lay out all the riches of his glory to give you strength and power, through his Spirit, in your inner being; that the Messiah may make his home in your hearts, through faith; that love may be your root, your firm foundation; and that you may be strong enough (with all God's saints) to grasp the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the Messiah's love—though actually it's so deep that nobody can really know it!  So may God will you with all his fullness.” Brothers and Sisters, if we are still invested in sin, if we are still invested in ourselves, if we are still invested in the things of this age, if we are still looking for philosophy or science or politics or economics to set this broken world to rights, we need instead to focus all the more on Jesus and the cross and to plumb the depths of God's love revealed there until our hearts are aligned with him and with his new creation. We need to steep ourselves in the love of God that we might know the riches of his glory—riches so great, a vision of new creation so glorious, of all the sad things of this world made untrue—that we fall in love with it and let go all our idols.  A pearl of great price so beautiful that we give up everything to have it.  But Brother and Sisters, instead we too often lose sight of that vision as we're overcome by the sadness and the pain and the darkness around us.  Our faith stumbles and we stop being the on-earth-as-in-heaven people that Jesus and the Spirit have made us.  We let the idols creep back in, and we start looking to them—to the things of this fallen world—as the way out and as our hope.  And we align ourselves with the very things that have corrupted God's creation, with the very things that hurt our relationships, and that keep us and the people around us from flourishing in God's goodness.  In the face of greater evils, we accept the lesser and we do it over and over and over until we've embraced idolatry, lost our vision of God's new creation, and forgotten the true power of the good news of God's love in Jesus. The solution, Brothers and Sisters, as St. Paul says so often, is to keep our eyes on Jesus and on his kingdom.  To daily plumb the depths of the love of God made manifest in Jesus, crucified and risen.  If you struggle with sin, if you struggle with selfishness, if you struggle with idolatry, if you struggle to keep God's new creation at the centre of your vision, if your hope is not in Jesus and Jesus alone, hear Paul's words today: let the love of God in Jesus be your root and your firm foundation. Let's pray: O Lord, let your continual pity cleanse and defend your church; and because it cannot continue in safety without your aid, protect it by your help and goodness for ever, through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

In today's Gospel Spice lesson, Stephanie Rousselle takes us on a historical journey to frame the Old and the New Testaments, the 400 years between Malachi's time until the arrival of John the Baptist. This period, often referred to as the "intertestamental period," spans remarkable historical developments that are essential to understanding the world Jesus was born into. Imagine living in our day and age, but having no idea of what happened to our country, world, and culture in the last 400 years. Imagine that the latest “news” you have date back from the 1620's or so. Would this affect our understanding of our day? In the same way, we cannot cut 400 years of Jewish history, and assume we lose nothing. Malachi delivered his message around 420BC; John the Baptist. Malachi's successor called to “make a highway in the wilderness” to proclaim the arrival of Messiah, came onto the Judean scene in the 20's AD. But Scripture is silent about this span of time. These "400 years of silence," as they are often called, were not so silent politically, religiously, and socially. By studying the events during this time, we gain insight into how the world was meticulously prepared for Jesus's arrival. While these events are not recorded in the Bible, they hold much significance to know Christ more. Beginning with Alexander the Great's conquest in 333 BC, the world saw Greek culture and language take hold, influencing many aspects of life, including the translation of the Hebrew Old Testament into Greek, known as the Septuagint. This was pivotal, as it allowed for greater access to the Scriptures and laid the foundation for the New Testament to reference these texts. The era is ripe with hostile dynamics between the Hellenistic influences from Greece and the resistance that arose from the Jews, who sought to preserve their traditions. This tension is encapsulated in the Maccabean Revolt led by Judas Maccabeus, a significant event that ultimately led to the celebration of Hanukkah. Another important theme from this period is the rise of different Jewish sects, such as the Pharisees, Sadducees, and Essenes. These groups played crucial roles in the religious landscape of Israel and were directly involved in the societal structure during Jesus's time. These historical layers formed a backdrop against which God chose to reveal His Son. The development of Greek as a universal language and Roman infrastructure, like roads facilitating trade and communication, enabled the rapid spread of the Gospel. Our historical exploration ties to biblical prophecy, specifically how this time fits into Daniel's prophecy of seventy weeks. This provides an eschatological perspective to the discussion. Understanding these details, as part of grasping the broader biblical narrative, challenges the modern tendency to focus solely on personal applicability of Scripture without considering its historical and theological context. Our lesson is an invitation to (re)discover this rich tapestry of history. We encourage you to use the Gospel Spice workbook and additional resources provided to further explore this period's influence on Jesus's earthly ministry and its legacy in the New Testament church. Details and registration here: https://www.gospelspice.com/prayer  There are a few things in our Christian life that we know we should do more, or at least better – and prayer just might top the list. Prayer is a mystery. Why would a conversation with a human have any influence on God's eternal, sovereign plan? It defies logic, and beckons love. How can God, the Almighty Lord of Hosts, be this close, this personal? It defies understanding, and beckons involvement. But, lack of time, inspiration, and discipline, combined with the ruthless tyranny of our busy lives, push prayer to the periphery, to the “one day I'll get to it” pile. And yet, we can excel at what we endeavor to undertake. So, why isn't prayer more of a spiritual priority? Could we develop a mindset around prayer that made it attractive, inspiring, even maybe delightful? What if we attuned our spiritual ears to listen to God, and our spiritual eyes to see His provision? As an unassuming student, I'm going to humbly offer to share the little I have learned from others about the joy of prayer. I will give us theology, practical tips, and useful resources, sharing what works for me as we, together, learn to pray. If you find prayer intimidating, or if your lack of prayer makes you feel guilty or “less than,” then this is the place for you! If you have been a student of prayer for many years, this is the place for you too! If you have breath in your lungs, then prayer can become one of the deepest joys of your day. Don't miss out! A PERSPECTIVE ABOUT PRAYER To pray is to believe that God not only hears, but that He responds. It is to stand in the gap for a broken world, wielding the authority of Christ, empowered by the Spirit, and trusting in the goodness of the Father. The question is not whether prayer works, but whether we are willing to pray the kinds of prayers that invite God's Kingdom into the darkest places of the earth—and of our own hearts. We may never fully understand the mechanics of prayer, or how it intersects with God's sovereignty, but we are not called to understand everything. We are called to be faithful. And faithfulness means showing up—in prayer, in persistence, in expectation. So today, let us pray not only for the comfort of our hearts, but for the transformation of the world. Let us take our place as image-bearers, co-laborers, and co-heirs. Let us believe that God is still listening—and still acting. Because He is. There's only one way to find out what might happen when we truly pray like this. Let's begin. THE MINDSET BEHIND THIS COURSE Before we begin, let me tell you the obvious: I don't really know how to pray. I'm a humble student and absolute beginner at the holy endeavor that is prayer. So, this course isn't really about what I've learned, or any wisdom I might have gathered. But, I've sat at the feet of many prayer warriors over the decades, through books and teachings. So, I'll share what I learned from them. Humility is going to be our primary heart posture! With each lesson, I will offer a few thoughts, practices, and ideas – with much humility, and not taking myself too seriously. I will also share her favorite books and resources about prayer. FInally, I will introduce you to some of the most influential prayer warriors of our history as the Body of Christ. Most importantly, I will invite YOU to pray! Learning to pray comes from praying. Our humble ambition is to inspire you to pray, and to give you a few tips on how to do that. Then, it's up to you! Prayer is a lifelong endeavor. Let's make it delightful together! So, let's get started. Support us on Gospel Spice, PayPal and Venmo!

The Jesus bloodline refers to the proposition that a lineal sequence of the historical Jesus has persisted, possibly to the present time. Although absent from the Gospels or historical records, the concept of Jesus having descendants has gained a presence in the public imagination, as seen with Holy Blood, Holy Grail a book by Michael Baigent, Richard Leigh, and Henry Lincoln and Dan Brown's 2003 best-selling novel The Da Vinci Code. These claimed Jesus's bloodlines are distinct from the biblical genealogy of Jesus, which concerns the ancestors of Jesus, and from the alleged Brothers of Jesus and other kin of Jesus, known as the Desposyni. Joel continues to peel back the layers shrouding the mystery of the supposed Bloodlines of Jesus Christ. He looks at the origins of the Knights Templar and how their roots go back to not only the Priory of Sion but Rex Deus and the Essenes. He then takes a look at the hidden relationship between the Templars and the Islamic Assassins and how they both professed outwardly their devotion to Christianity and Islam but secretly practiced esoteric Gnosticism coupled with devotion to hiding hidden bloodlines. He also peers into Rosslyn Chapel, the secrets it holds, including Freemasonic treasures along with the Holy Grail. Finally, Joel lays out the Gnostic blueprint for hiding the genealogy of Jesus and Mary Magdalene and what became of their purported children. Freddy Silva is an author, a speaker and an independent researcher of ancient knowledge and lost civilizations, in particular the temples and other megalithic sites our ancestors built and left behind. The old cultures knew where to build these things to harness the flow of energy. In Freddy Silva's mind, they are portals.“All of these places around the world that we call temples, for lack of a better word, are located at seismically active spots, and the foundation on which they stand create an electrical charge or current along the landscape.”The builders also carefully chose the rocks they used to build their temples. They would sometimes go hundreds of miles to find the right stones, which have the properties to act as a kind of energy field.“All this makes the laws of physics act differently within these sites”, says Freddy.Very few of the megalithic temples were burial sites. They were used for out of body experiences, shamanism and “accessing information from an astral reference library”.“We can call them portals because they literally punch a hole in the way we view the third dimension, and they get you to access another level of reality.”Today we know that the heightened energetic lines where old megalithic temples are found are telluric currents. NASA has actually mapped them.“Anywhere these telluric currents cross on the surface of the earth, you'll find a standing stone, a dolmen, a mound, a pyramid, a stonehenge”, says Freddy.Thousands of years ago, people knew how to pick up on these energetic lines. They didn't really need to build anything to harness the energy. So why did many of them do that? Freddy Silva thinks they wanted to “x-mark” the highly charged places by placing megaliths on them and preserve them, because they knew that humans in the future – us – would forget this knowledge.“That's the only explanation that makes sense to me.”In fact, not all ancient cultures built megaliths. Neither the indigenous Australians nor the Hopis did, for example. They just knew where the sacred places were. When Christianity arrived, we were well into forgetfulness. Interestingly enough, however, the Gothic cathedrals of the late medieval era were built on sacred sites. The ancient knowledge had gone underground and secretly been preserved and conveyed, starting with the mystery schools of Egypt and continuing with the Essenes and the Gnostics. The Knights templar were one of these groups that were privy to the old wisdom“They were essentially the Essenes under a different name.”The Templars oversaw the erection of some of the most magnificent Gothic cathedrals in Europe in the 12th and 13th century. “They built sacred spaces disguised as catholic churches. This is the best joke in history”, Freddy quips. He believes that the knowledge of “the gods” – how nature really works – goes all the way back to the Atlantean civilization, which collapsed in the Younger Dryas period 12,000 to 13,000 years ago.The cataclysm that ended the previous high civilizations was likely caused by a devastating bombardment of cosmic debris, which gave rise to an obsession our ancestors had with looking at the sky.“Like in Central America. Why this obsession with long range calendars? The Maya have something like 14 calendars, and some cover hundreds of thousands of years.”Our ancestors are telling us a cautionary tale. Today scientists know that the chunks of rock that created the big flood – the bulk of the Taurid meteor stream – are coming back between 2036 and 2042.But Freddy Silva is hopeful. We can be prepared.“The old cultures teach us that we are the Gods we've been waiting for. The help is there for us to find.”Freddy Silva's website

Hello Beloved. ”THE MYSTERIES OF GOD HAVE BEEN REVEALED.”For those that knock - and demand the truth….text everything and bring it into light. Today we dip our toe into the lost books of teh bible and how the walk of Jesus far outstretched in what is portrayed in the bible according to the validity of the Essenes ( lost books of the bible discovered ). This is not a religious belief conversation, it is a historic overview of curiosity and deeper revelation of truth through a open mind and heart. That said…..LET'S HOP IN! POINT BLANK: One of the greatest spiritual enigmas of all time—the kind that makes you tilt your head and whisper, “Wait, what?”—is the missing 18 years of Jesus's life. You know the ones. The Gospels tell us about his birth, his moment of brilliance at age 12 in the temple, and then… silence.Until he reappears at 30, ready to turn the world inside out. It's as if the most formative years of the most influential spiritual teacher in history were tucked away behind a curtain. But what if that curtain is ready to be pulled back?Exploring the Lost YearsNow, I'm not here to sell you on conspiracy theories or fringe ideas just for the thrill of it.But I am here to explore the beautiful, messy, and fascinating mosaic of possibilities that suggest Jesus's “lost years” were anything but idle. There's a growing body of scholarship, oral tradition, and even ancient manuscripts that hint Jesus may have spent these years not in obscurity, but in study, in pilgrimage, and in deep spiritual practice across some of the most sacred lands on Earth. The Essene ConnectionLet's start with the Essenes. These weren't your average desert dwellers. They were a mystical Jewish sect living near the Dead Sea, devoted to ritual purity, communal living, and a prophetic vision of a coming teacher who would uplift humanity. Some scholars, like Edmund Bordeaux Szekely in The Essene Gospel of Peace, suggest Jesus was trained by them—immersed in their practices of fasting, healing, and spiritual discipline. The Dead Sea Scrolls, discovered in 1947 at Qumran, echo teachings of divine justice, purity, and a “Teacher of Righteousness” that feel uncannily similar to Jesus's later message (see: Vermes, G., The Complete Dead Sea Scrolls in English).Echoes of KabbalahAnd then there's the thread of Kabbalah, the Jewish mystical tradition that dives deep into the nature of God, the soul, and the cosmos.Lawrence Gardner, in The Magdalene Legacy, proposes that Jesus was not just a preacher but a mystic—someone who understood the Tree of Life, the sacred geometry of creation, and the divine spark within all beings. When Jesus says in the Gospel of John, “I and the Father are one,” he's not just being poetic. He's articulating a mystical truth that resonates deeply with Kabbalistic teachings on unity and divine emanation.Journeys to EgyptBut the trail doesn't stop in Judea. It winds its way south to Egypt, where the ancient Mystery Schools taught the secrets of resurrection, inner alchemy, and soul initiation.Gerald Massey, in The Historical Jesus and the Mythical Christ, draws parallels between Jesus and Osiris—the Egyptian god of death and rebirth.Manly P. Hall, in The Secret Teachings of All Ages, even suggests Jesus may have been initiated in the Great Pyramid itself, undergoing the sacred rites of transformation.Egypt wasn't just a place of pyramids and pharaohs—it was a spiritual university, and Jesus may have been one of its most dedicated students. The Indian SojournAnd then—this is where it gets really juicy—there's India.Yes, India. The land of sages, yogis, and the Upanishads. The connection begins at his birth, with the Magi—wise men from the East, possibly Hindu rishis—who followed a star not just in the sky, but in their inner vision. In Indian spiritual tradition, the “star in the east” refers to the third eye, the gateway to divine insight.Their gifts—gold, frankincense, and myrrh—were traditional offerings for newborns in India, not just symbolic tokens.Fast forward a few decades, and we find the most intriguing account of all: The Unknown Life of Jesus Christ by Russian journalist Nicolas Notovitch. In the late 1800s, Notovitch claimed to have discovered Tibetan manuscripts in a monastery in Ladakh, describing the life of “Issa”—a name used for Jesus—who traveled through India, Nepal, and Tibet. These texts describe a young man fleeing societal expectations, studying the Vedas in Puri, challenging the caste system, and preaching universal love and nonviolence.Later, in Tibet, he studied Buddhist sutras—teachings that echo in his later messages about humility, renunciation, and inner peace. Now, Notovitch's claims were met with skepticism, of course. But Swami Abhedananda, a respected Indian monk, later traveled to the same monastery and corroborated the existence of the texts.Paramahansa Yogananda, in his spiritual classic Autobiography of a Yogi, also referenced Jesus's time in India, emphasizing the harmony between Christ's teachings and the yogic path of self-realization.This wasn't about borrowing ideas—it was a soul recognizing truth across borders. The Aquarian GospelAnd if you're still with me (thank you), let's talk about The Aquarian Gospel of Jesus the Christ, written by Levi H. Dowling in 1908.Dowling claimed to have transcribed the book from the Akashic Records—a kind of cosmic memory bank. The Aquarian Gospel offers a sweeping narrative of Jesus's travels through India, Persia, Greece, and Egypt, learning from every major spiritual tradition of the time.Whether or not you believe in the Akashic Records, the book paints a compelling picture of a Jesus who was not only divine but deeply human—curious, humble, and committed to understanding the universal truths that bind us all.Mainstream PerspectivesOf course, mainstream Christianity has struggled with these ideas. The Gospels are silent on these years, and the Church has historically resisted narratives that suggest Jesus learned from other traditions. But let's be honest: the Bible has been edited, translated, and reinterpreted countless times. Can we really say we have the whole story?Or is it possible that what we've been given is just one chapter in a much larger, richer tale?A Bridge Between WorldsBecause here's the thing: When we allow ourselves to explore these possibilities—not as dogma, but as sacred curiosity—we begin to see Jesus not just as a figure of worship, but as a bridge.A bridge between East and West.Between the mystical and the practical.Between the divine and the human. His teachings on inward prayer, fasting, and the kingdom of God within mirror the meditative practices of yoga and the self-inquiry of the Upanishads. His parables echo the allegorical wisdom of Egyptian initiation rites. His message of love, compassion, and inner transformation is, in essence, the heart of every great spiritual tradition. And maybe, just maybe, that's the point. That truth is not a possession, but a path. That divinity is not a hierarchy, but a homecoming. And that Jesus, in his lost years, wasn't lost at all—but walking the long, sacred road that would prepare him to light the way for us all.Your thoughts? xo Kassandra. In her highly anticipated return to the podcast, Dr. Malka Simkovich takes us on a journey through the rich and complex world of Second Temple Judaism, drawing from her acclaimed book Discovering Second Temple Literature. We begin with the extraordinary discoveries of the Cairo Genizah and the Dead Sea Scrolls, and explore why these moments of preservation are so central to understanding the period. We then unpack the deep identity tensions faced by the Jewish people—especially in communities like Alexandria—as they navigated dual roles as both imperial citizens and members of a semi-sovereign Judea. Dr. Simkovich clarifies the role of sects during this era, showing how minority movements like the Pharisees, Sadducees, and Essenes related to the mainstream Jewish population, and challenges the assumption that sectarianism defined the age by highlighting the resilience of a shared Jewish identity. The episode also features a deep dive into the fascinating literature that expanded upon biblical texts, including a close look at the non-canonical Testament of Abraham. Finally, we end with a preview of Dr. Simkovich's latest book, Letters from Home, and discuss what inspired it and the conversation she hopes it will spark.---*This episode is dedicated to the refua shelema of our dear friend Yaakov ben Haya Sarah Malakh---• Bio: Dr. Malka Z. In this episode you will learn about: The Dead Sea Scrolls, discovered between 1947 in the caves of Qumran near the Dead Sea, are considered the greatest archaeological discovery of the 20th century. They contain over 900 manuscripts, offering profound insights into Jewish life and scriptural interpretation during the Second Temple period. The scrolls are attributed to a Jewish sect most likely the Essenes who withdrew from Jerusalem in protest against what they saw as a corrupt priesthood. They settled at Qumran, living in purity and waiting for the apocalyptic end of days. The discovery included stone vessels, ritual baths (mikvaot), and a scriptorium, all indicating a monastic, religious lifestyle deeply rooted in Scripture. There are three important historians that wrote about them: Philo of Alexandria, Josephus flavious and Pliny the Elder. Philo of Alexandria mentions that the essenes live in villages, not cities, to avoid moral corruption. They renounce wealth and personal property, living communally, they devote themselves to peace, agriculture, and virtue, rejecting war and slavery. Josephus flavius had the most information about the essenes, they reject pleasures, value virtue, and live communally without private property, they avoid marriage, live simply, and emphasize purity and ritual cleanliness, they follow strict discipline, practice daily prayers, and eat in sacred silence and their souls are believed to be immortal, and they view the body as a temporary prison. While Pliny the elder wrote only about the geographical location in his Natural history book and he says that the Essenes live near the Dead Sea, avoiding cities and women, they have no money, only palm trees and simplicity. Not much in details. Three Categories of Scrolls Biblical Canonical Texts: These are the oldest known Hebrew Bible manuscripts, predating the Masoretic Text our primary Hebrew Bible source by over 1,000 years. Every book of the Hebrew Bible was found—except Esther. Apocryphal and Pseudepigraphal Texts: These include works like 1 Enoch and the Book of Jubilees—books that were influential in early Judaism and Christianity, even if not canonized. Sectarian Texts: Unique to Qumran, these writings detail community life, beliefs, and regulations, including the Community Rule, War Scroll, and Thanksgiving Hymns. They reveal a society organized around purity, hierarchy, and eschatological expectation. For the complete Video online course check our website:  www.twinsbiblicalacademy.com/paid-courses

Since ancient times, religious and moral conviction has compelled the most pious among us to leave this sinful world behind.Jewish groups like the Essenes and the Ebionites were joned by the earliest Christian monks in their complete rejection of secular society, preferring to live in intentional communities organized toward complete observance of religious commandments. These groups, who may have included the first followers of Jesus, held their property in common and believed they could lead mankind by their example toward a new moral world.By the European Middle Ages, Christian institutions had taken on all the venal and violent obligations of the state. Reformers seeking to challenge the worldly power of the church were met by centuries of brutal oppression. By the 16th century these contradictions had become too much to bear, with the eruption of the Protestant Reformation and the flowering of idealistic sectarians. Some of these groups, like the Anabaptists and the Diggers, sought to upend the material hierarchies of man and make all equal before God. When these groups were also hunted down, even by their fellow Protestants, the dream of a new beginning survived across the sea.Religious settlers like the Puritans and Quakers saw the wild American lands as a blank slate for their moral dreams, while more materialistic colonists used the New World to engineer new systems of extraction and domination unimaginable back home. Many of these groups created communes in the wilderness, some surviving for months and others for centuries. As Enlightenment writers argued for the equality of man based on reason rather than scripture, and the American and French Revolutions called all political secular communitarian projects also began to emerge. Most significant of all of these was New Harmony, the utopian experiment of reformed capitalist and lifelong idealist Robert Owen. Though New Harmony would not be a particularly long-lived commune, it cemented Owen as one of the most famous men of the early 19th century and a father of the socialist movement. Like many parents, Owen would see some of his children turn away from him, yet his lifelong agitation would lay the groundwork for more enduring transformative projects. While we now understand the utopian movement to have failed, Owen and his two thousands years of forebears succeeded in inspiring mankind to build a new moral world.Listen to the end of this one to hear about Jackson's own radical utopian dream: BYU for Owenism.

Madlik Podcast – Torah Thoughts on Judaism From a Post-Orthodox Jew

This week on Madlik, we're diving into a fascinating exploration of the Jewish calendar - a topic that's not just about marking time, but about renewal, liberation, and the very essence of what it means to be Jewish. In our discussion of Parashat Bo, Rabbi Mintz and I unpack the significance of the first commandment given to the Israelites as a nation: establishing their own calendar. We examine how this seemingly simple act was actually a radical departure from other ancient calendars, and how it embodied core Jewish values of human agency and imperfection. Some highlights from our conversation: - Why the lunar-solar Jewish calendar was seen as revolutionary by other cultures - The deeper meaning behind witnessing the new moon - How the Essenes and early Muslims viewed the Jewish calendar - The beautiful tension between divine perfection and human imperfection in our timekeeping This episode really drove home for me how our calendar reflects so much about our worldview as Jews. I hope it sparks some thoughtful reflection for you too. Tune in for a mind-expanding journey through time, Torah, and Jewish thought! In the first half, author Dr. Ken Hanson discussed the mysterious sect known as the Essenes and the Book of Enoch, an ancient text that came to light when the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered. In 1946, a Bedouin shepherd stumbled upon the ancient scrolls containing what is now understood to be an "ancient library of Hebrew texts." This library is believed to be linked to the Essenes, an ancient Jewish group that diverged from mainstream Judaism, he explained. The main branch of Judaism focused on the temple and law, while the Essenes centered their beliefs on stories of fallen angels and the end of days.He expressed a shift in his understanding of the Essenes, suggesting they may have had a more significant influence on early Christianity than previously thought, as Jesus' teachings resonate more with the Essene beliefs than with Temple Judaism, he noted. Hanson pointed out parallels between the Book of Enoch and the writings of the ancient historian Josephus. "The Essenes cultivated arts of healing" such as using roots and spells in the same type of language that Josephus described.Hanson marveled at the discovery of the Essenes' gate in Jerusalem, in the same location where it's thought Jesus went on trial. Speaking of connections between the Dead Sea Scrolls and the Book of Revelation, he said that one of the scrolls was called the "War Scroll," and it detailed "seven apocalyptic battles between good and evil." While three battles are won by the "sons of light," and three are won by the "sons of darkness" (the fallen angels), the ultimate victory comes from divine intervention.----------Spiritual teacher Lorna Byrne has touched the lives of people around the world with her work on angels. In the latter half, she shared her profound insights, and how angels guide and support individuals, regardless of their religious beliefs. "From the moment I opened my eyes, I saw angels," she recalled, explaining how, as a toddler, she felt a deep love and connection with them. Byrne emphasized that each person is accompanied by a guardian angel, stating, "To your guardian angel, you are its number one." She reassured listeners that these celestial beings never leave our side and are here to guide us through challenges. The conversation also delved into the concept of "unemployed angels," which Byrne described as angels waiting to assist those in need. "They are pouring down from heaven, waiting for us to ask for a helping hand," she said, highlighting their readiness to support us in everyday tasks. To connect with one's guardian angel, she advised asking for signs, with feathers being a common symbol of their presence.Byrne also urged listeners to expand their prayer practices beyond personal needs. "Can you pray for the stranger as well?" she asked, pointing out the importance of praying for those who cannot pray for themselves. She believes a simple prayer can have transformative effects, and the prayer you say for a stranger may save a life or mean more than you know. People can also reach out to what she called a "rosemantic" angel for help finding love or a relationship, she added.

The book presents cases from her past-life regressions, illustrating how individuals have connections to the Essenes and potentially to Jesus himself. Conclusion: The book concludes with a call to explore the deeper, often overlooked aspects of Jesus' life and teachings. Cannon encourages readers to consider the broader spiritual context in which Jesus operated and the possible influences of the Essenes on his message.Overall, "Jesus And The Essenes" serves as a spiritual exploration that blends history, metaphysics, and personal insights, enriching the understanding of Jesus within the framework of the Essenes and their mystical traditions.Chapter 3 Jesus And The Essenes...

As we enter a season of greater darkness and less light (for those of us in the Northern hemisphere), it is imperative to spend more time within, connect to your heart, inner pilot light, and the all loving Divine Mind.    This week's episode is with Lars Muhl, spiritual teacher and author of The God Formula and The Sacred Numbers of Initiation, and Naleea Landmann, healer and author of The Love That You Are.   It's all about how to experience divine communion and disappear fear and misconceptions about yourself that are untrue.    More about my guests:   Lars Muhl is an author, musician, therapist and inspirational speaker who since childhood has been connected to spirituality. In his own words: “Very early I had some powerful out-of-body experiences and glimpses into etheric realms which showed me that there is more to life than most people are aware of.” He studied the Aramaic language, esoteric Christianity and the mystery traditions of the Essenes and the Therapeutae for many years, but it wasn't before he started to work with the seer and healer Calle de Montségur, he realized that studying and reading only make up half of what is needed in order to realize our full potential. Only through genuine spiritual practice and experiences will we be able to fully understand that we are already Enlightened Beings. He has worked together with Naleea Landmann since 2017. She started as a translator of his German workshops. Later she edited, translated and contributed to his books The God Formula, The Light within a Human Heart, and The Sacred Numbers of Initiation. They co-write texts about the work and she filmed and produced many of the recent videos. Today they are doing talks, concerts and workshops together under the umbrella of Sacred Seed.   Naleea Landmann is a therapist, musician, author, actor and inspirational speaker. Since early childhood, Naleea had a strong yearning to connect with the Divine and understand the realities of this world and the universe. Her out-of-body experiences lead her to question “reality” already as a young child – her personal experiences as well as our path as humanity. Finding a way to express what she perceived and felt, she first started to use acting as a tool to communicate and reach people, as well as an opportunity to understand the ways of our personality structures. Her vision is to live within a world of heart-centered beings, who listen to their own guidance and share themselves and their gifts in joy, true connection and Divine communion. Her first book, The Love That You Are – Psalm 119 Meditations, is a guide and companion to enter into the I AM Presence through prayer. The paraphrased Psalm can be found as well in the book The Sacred Numbers of Initiation by Lars Muhl.     The prayer recited in this episode:  Psalm 119:89-96   "Heavenly Source of All Being,  I am Light, born within the Light.   89 Your word and wisdom are eternal; their echo fills the spheres of all Heavens. 90 I AM the faith passed on by the Mighty Ones;  the ancient glory of the Earth rejoices in all her splendor. 91 Now and forever, Your Light fills all existence,  and all things radiate Your Presence. 92 I AM the delight in Your wisdom,  it comforts and strengthens me at all times. 93 I AM the remembering of Your love;  it is the sacred breath of my life. 94 Your Presence is my belonging and my safety; I AM the enfolding of Your guidance. 95 If I face wickedness or destruction,  I open Your shield of peace. 96 I raise my senses into Your vibration; I AM the merging with Your boundless Light.”   About Your Host, Julie Reisler Join Julie Reisler weekly, podcast host, intuitive coach, author, and multi-time TEDx speaker, each week to learn how to access your spiritual gifts and inner guidance to be your You-est You® and achieve greater inner peace, spiritual connection, happiness, and abundance. #166 - John the Baptist, Isaiah 40, and the Wilderness - Gospel of John (pt. 13)

Who exactly did John the Baptist claim to be, and why did he respond cryptically to the religious leaders questioning him? In this video, we explore John's reference to Isaiah 40:3, where he declares himself as "the voice of one crying in the wilderness." However, John does more than just quote the verse—he alters it, applying an alternate reading, a method commonly practiced by first-century Rabbis. In ancient Jewish hermeneutics, the lack of punctuation in the original Hebrew text allowed multiple interpretations. Rabbis would intentionally explore different readings of the same verse to uncover deeper meanings in Scripture. Understanding this practice reveals what John was truly saying about his identity: he is the forerunner, the one preparing the way for the King Messiah's arrival and the restoration of God's reign in Jerusalem. We'll also explore the fascinating connection between John the Baptist and the Essene sect behind the Dead Sea Scrolls, who similarly went into the wilderness to prepare the way for the Lord. Could John's ministry have been influenced by the teachings and practices of the Essenes? Join us as we dive deep into the cultural, theological, and historical significance of John's words and discover the powerful message he was declaring. --------------------------------------------------- www.figtreeteaching.com Support Fig Tree Ministries: https://donorbox.org/support-figtree-ministries Fig Tree Amazon Portal: https://amzn.to/3USMelI Lesson Handout: https://www.figtreeteaching.com/blog/john-the-baptist-jewish-hermeneutics Explore my digital notes on the Gospel of John, now available at the links below: Download a PDF of my notes on John 1:19-28: https://www.figtreeteaching.com/blog/my-notes-on-john-119-28 Download a PDF of my notes on John 1:29-34 https://www.figtreeteaching.com/blog/my-notes-on-john-129-34 Explore Jesus' Parables: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLCaBz_NhYH3Hfxwgh1v-CbTccuZS-SWjR Good News: https://youtu.be/zfkfoXW1DPU YouTube: https://youtu.be/1kDaGrRnPEY References: The Jewish Gospel of John - Eli Lizorkin-Eyzenberg https://amzn.to/3BO402d

Aaron Abke is a paradigm-shifting spiritual teacher that delivers a fresh, new perspective on Metaphysics and Ontology through his teachings on the Law of One, A Course In Miracles and Spiritual Intelligence. Aaron aims to provide humanity with the tools, knowledge, and practices needed to aid our collective ascension to Enlightenment, or "4th Density Consciousness". His passion and purpose is to awaken this planet to a higher consciousness.   Hope you enjoy this conversation with Aaron!     Takeaways   Spiritual intelligence (SQ) is the combination of self-awareness and embodiment of that awareness. Balancing the lower three chakras (root, sacral, solar plexus) is essential before activating the higher chakras (heart, throat, third eye). Forgiveness is the practice of understanding another person's perspective without necessarily agreeing or approving of their actions. Forgiveness releases negative energy and contributes to personal and collective healing. Understanding different perspectives is crucial in a divisive society, such as in politics. One person tuned into their heart energy is more powerful than hundreds of thousands who are not. The divine is all-loving and incapable of judgment or forgiveness. Judgment is an illusion, and forgiveness is unknown in heaven. Unconditional love and forgiveness have the power to heal ourselves and others. Acts of harm and evil are cries for help and love. Healing our relationship with ourselves is crucial, especially in relation to autoimmune conditions. Jesus' teachings align with the principles of the Course in Miracles and the Essene philosophy. Balancing the lower three chakras and activating the heart chakra through forgiveness and unconditional love is essential for spiritual growth. Polarization occurs when we resist or separate our hearts from others, while unity and love come from embracing oneness and understanding different perspectives. Humanity is going through a process of healing and transformation, with negative energies and corruption coming to the surface to be healed. The Essenes were a mystical, Kabbalistic sect of Jews who taught the way of the law and the teachings of Jesus. Their teachings are resurfacing now as we enter a new era of consciousness. Higher density souls, such as Jesus, choose to incarnate into third density bodies to be of service and help humanity evolve. Living from the heart and practicing forgiveness are essential for personal and collective transformation. The power of natural law and unconditional love can help us navigate through challenging times and create a better world.     You-est You® Resources for YOU! The Book of Enoch and the Valley of the Shadow of Death

THE BOOK OF 1 ENOCH has had a powerful influence on Christian theology. But it's more than just an explanation of how the Nephilim came to be in Genesis 6. The second section of the Book of 1 Enoch, chapters 37–71, is called the Book of Parables by scholars. It was the last section of 1 Enoch to be written, probably completed toward the very end of the 1st century BC. It contains teachings that are not found in any prior Jewish writing—for example, the forgiveness of sin through repentance rather than the Law, the imminent judgment of God on an evil world, and the coming of a messianic figure called the Son of Man who would execute God's justice on rebellious angels, evil kings, and wicked landowners. What's more, scholars now believe the Book of Parables was written by Essenes—but not at Qumran, where the idea that anyone could be forgiven outside of their community and their rules was inconceivable. The group that wrote the Book of Parables lived in the north, at Mount Arbel near the town of Magdala on the northwest shore of the Sea of Galilee. This is near the south end of the valley through which the Jordan River flows between the Mount Hermon and the Sea of Galilee. This valley is the physical Valley of the Shadow of Death—and Jesus declared it so when he moved from Nazareth to make his home at Capernaum on the north shore of the Sea of Galilee—plainly visible from Mount Arbel less than six miles away. The Essenes of Mount Arbel, who could see Mount Hermon on the northeastern horizon, prepared the ground in the upper Galilee for the arrival of Jesus, the Messiah. And they did it with teachings preserved for us in the Book of 1 Enoch.
