Please turn with me to Revelation chapter 19. Today is Easter Sunday, Resurrection Sunday, and it might seem a little strange that our text for the morning is Revelation 19. But we made the decision not to take time out of this important series for this week, but rather, we worked to schedule the series so that chapter 19 fell on this morning, because in our chapter today, we get to see a powerful image of the risen Jesus, and […]

"The description we have here isn't of a meek Jesus who is about to suffer sin, but rather one that is about to put a physical end to sin. It is that of God in human form." As Jesus entered into Jerusalem for the last time people showered him with shouts of praise. They cried out, “Blessed is the King of Israel!” This declaration was true, but not complete. In Revelation 19 we see a greater, fuller, declaration. Jesus is the “King of Kings and Lord of Lords.” This Palm Sunday sermon, on Revelation 19:11-21, calls people to serve Jesus as King of Kings. Pastor Roger Williams The vision of Jesus in his justice-bringing return fuels resilient faith.
"We should be obedient, expectant, and faithful in service. If we are, we will rejoice and be glad when it happens!" The second section of revelation contains haunting symbols. Beasts, bowls, and a place called Babylon all find climax in a war (Armageddon). Surrounding the ominous illusions is a life changing message. "...The Lamb will triumph over them because he is Lord of lords and King of kings." This is a series of sermons on Revelation 12-19 and how you can share in Jesus' victory. Impacted? Pastor Roger Williams Hope in future deliverance fuels resilient faith today.
Pastor Luke talks about the Church as the bride of Christ and the marriage supper of the Lamb. Scripture reading: Revelation 19:6-10.
Revelation 19:11-2111 Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war. 12 His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns. He had a name written that no one knew except Himself. 13 He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God. 14 And the armies in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, followed Him on white horses. 15 Now out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He should strike the nations. And He Himself will rule them with a rod of iron. He Himself treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. 16 And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written:KING OF KINGS ANDLORD OF LORDS.17 Then I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the birds that fly in the midst of heaven, “Come and gather together for the supper of the great God, 18 that you may eat the flesh of kings, the flesh of captains, the flesh of mighty men, the flesh of horses and of those who sit on them, and the flesh of all people, free and slave, both small and great.” 19 And I saw the beast, the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against Him who sat on the horse and against His army. 20 Then the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet who worked signs in his presence, by which he deceived those who received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped his image. These two were cast alive into the lake of fire burning with brimstone. 21 And the rest were killed with the sword which proceeded from the mouth of Him who sat on the horse. And all the birds were filled with their flesh.
If you appreciate this work, consider supporting it - https://www.patreon.com/seekgodtogether Today we will read Revelation 19:7-8 with the last part of verse 6 which says, “Hallelujah, because our Lord God, the Almighty, has begun to reign! Let us be glad, rejoice, and give Him glory, because the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has prepared herself. She was given fine linen to wear, bright and pure. For the fine linen represents the righteous acts of the saints.” Sex. We had to get here eventually. And while these verses might not immediately appear to deal with sex, just consider…why is the bride prepared for the wedding day? What's it all leading to? A pretty dress? Eating cake? Dancing? A vacation? I think we know. The purpose here is not to be salacious but honest about life, and scripture. What other act has such power over our lives? The entirety of our sex differences, bodies, bearing children, promoting intimacy between two people, sustaining a family, sustaining a society, is all grounded in the sexual act. Nothing else comes close to the power for good, or power for destruction. What else causes more devastation, broken hearts, broken bodies, traumatized children, and degraded cultures than sex? Is it any wonder that scripture spends so much real-estate, both in the narratives and in the commandments, with sex? This is not an issue where we grow up and move on. Aside from our very existence, this is the preeminent issue in all of human history and we treat it lightly to our ruin. But why is sex so volatile? Is it simply the pleasure or perpetuation of the species? Scripture submits something far bigger. Sex is a hyperlink to something true about God. God Himself is a romantic with desire for - His bride. The bride is the totality of the redeemed. And His romance is on a level we cannot imagine. A skeptical view of scripture could say that we simply took sex, blew it up, and projected it onto God. But it's the other way around. God built into His creation a mechanism to image Himself. Something incredibly multifaceted, useful, and wonderful. The result is obvious. No wonder then that sex holds the power to bring out our very best or very worst. You are a sexual being. You can't help it. You didn't ask for it - you are simply thrown into it. But you are participating in something far bigger than yourself. Consider the reality then of your sexuality not as something simply for you, or your spouse, but rather as an opportunity to (on the smallest of levels) imagine the wonder of God and His desire. Be careful then to steward your sexuality as worship. Give it the care He gives His bride. Recognize the danger in its abuse. And if you feel crushed and broken by your own sexual missteps, just consider… who is the bride of Christ? Well, she is guilty of all sorts of ruin, prostitution, adultery, and perversion. And yet, by the thorough romance of Christ, she is made beautiful and pure. And she is clothed with righteous acts. That is you and that is me. And however you are feeling, know that you…yes you…are the most beloved, adored, clean and pure, desired being in all the universe. Walk in that today. Jesus, I am Your bride - or at least part of Your bride. I don't feel it, often I don't believe it, but I want to live it. Show me more. Empower me today to live out the love You have for me.

Revelation 19:1-10After these things I heard a loud voice of a great multitude in heaven, saying, “Alleluia! Salvation and glory and honor and power belong to the Lord our God! 2 For true and righteous are His judgments, because He has judged the great harlot who corrupted the earth with her fornication; and He has avenged on her the blood of His servants shed by her.” 3 Again they said, “Alleluia! Her smoke rises up forever and ever!” 4 And the twenty-four elders and the four living creatures fell down and worshiped God who sat on the throne, saying, “Amen! Alleluia!” 5 Then a voice came from the throne, saying, “Praise our God, all you His servants and those who fear Him, both small and great!”6 And I heard, as it were, the voice of a great multitude, as the sound of many waters and as the sound of mighty thunderings, saying, “Alleluia! For the Lord God Omnipotent reigns! 7 Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready.” 8 And to her it was granted to be arrayed in fine linen, clean and bright, for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints.9 Then he said to me, “Write: ‘Blessed are those who are called to the marriage supper of the Lamb!' ” And he said to me, “These are the true sayings of God.” 10 And I fell at his feet to worship him. But he said to me, “See that you do not do that! I am your fellow servant, and of your brethren who have the testimony of Jesus. Worship God! For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.”
The Return of the KingRevelation 19 Hallelujah for being saved. Revelation 19:1-5 (ESV)After this I heard what seemed to be the loud voice of a great multitude in heaven, crying out,“Hallelujah!Salvation and glory and power belong to our God, for his judgments are true and just;for he has judged the great prostitutewho corrupted the earth with her immorality, and has avenged on her the blood of his servants.”Once more they cried out,“Hallelujah! The smoke from her goes up forever and ever.” And the twenty-four elders and the four living creatures fell down and worshiped God who was seated on the throne, saying, “Amen. Hallelujah!” And from the throne came a voice saying, “Praise our God, all you his servants, you who fear him, small and great.” Hallelujah for what is to come. Revelation 19:6-10 (ESV)Then I heard what seemed to be the voice of a great multitude, like the roar of many waters and like the sound of mighty peals of thunder, crying out,“Hallelujah! For the Lord our Godthe Almighty reigns.Let us rejoice and exultand give him the glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and his Bride has made herself ready;it was granted her to clothe herselfwith fine linen, bright and pure”— for the fine linen is the righteous deeds of the saints. And the angel said to me, “Write this: Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb.” And he said to me, “These are the true words of God.” Then I fell down at his feet to worship him, but he said to me, “You must not do that! I am a fellow servant with you and your brothers who hold to the testimony of Jesus. Worship God.” For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy. The first and second coming of Jesus His First coming:He rode a donkeyHe came as the suffering servant. He came in humility and meekness. He came to suffer the wrath of God for sinners. He was rejected by many as the Messiah. He came to seek and save the lost.He came as God and many didn't see it. His second coming. He will ride a white horse. He will come as king and lord.He will come and majesty empower. He will come to establish the kingdom of God for his saints. He will be recognized by all as lord.He will come to judge and rule as king.He will come as God and all will see His splendor. When Jesus the King returns:He will return in stunning glory and power.Revelation 19:11-16 (ESV)“Then I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse! And the beast was captured, and with it the false prophet who in its presence had done the signs by which he deceived those who had received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped its image. These two were thrown alive into the lake of fire that burns with sulfur. And the rest were slain by the sword that came from the mouth of him who was sitting on the horse, and all the birds were gorged with their flesh.”
The Bible teaches that Jesus will return again in glory as king of heaven and earth. The question for Christians is: are we living in light of that return—and are we telling others about Christ while there's still opportunity? This message was given by Dustin Langley, pastor at Peninsula Life Church. Scripture passages cited in this message include Matthew 24:36; Acts 1:7; Revelation 19:11-21; 20:11-15; and 2 Peter 3:9.

Revelation 19:11-21 by Peter Lamme & Steve Coward
Morning: Psalm 2:12; John 20:29; 2 Corinthians 5:7; Ephesians 1:13; Colossians 1:27; 1 Peter 1:8; 1 John 4:16; 1 John 4:19–20 Though you have not seen him, you love him. For we walk by faith, not by sight.—We love because he first loved us.—So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.—In him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit.—To them God chose to make known how great among the Gentiles are the riches of the glory of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. If anyone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen. Jesus said to him, “Have you believed because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”—Blessed are all who take refuge in him. Psalm 2:12 (Listen) 12 Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and you perish in the way, for his wrath is quickly kindled. Blessed are all who take refuge in him. (ESV) John 20:29 (Listen) 29 Jesus said to him, “Have you believed because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.” (ESV) 2 Corinthians 5:7 (Listen) 7 for we walk by faith, not by sight. Though you do not now see him, you believe in him and rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory, (ESV) 1 John 4:16 (Listen) 16 So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him. (ESV) 1 John 4:19–20 (Listen) 19 We love because he first loved us. 20 If anyone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot1 love God whom he has not seen. With the mighty deeds of the Lord God I will come; I will remind them of your righteousness, yours alone.—I will greatly rejoice in the Lord; my soul shall exult in my God, for he has clothed me with the garments of salvation; he has covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decks himself like a priest with a beautiful headdress, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels. “Bring quickly the best robe, and put it on him.”—“It was granted her to clothe herself with fine linen, bright and pure”—for the fine linen is the righteous deeds of the saints. Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord… in order that I may gain Christ and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which comes through faith in Christ, the righteousness from God that depends on faith. Fr. Mike dives into the fall of Babylon described in Revelation 18, pointing out how several images and expressions of this key chapter are taken from the judgmental oracles in the old testament, particularly those from the prophet Jeremiah. Fr. Mike also emphasizes the reality of God's judgment, the resurrection of the dead, and how Christ's sacrifice is presented to God in the heavenly sanctuary once and for all. Today we read Revelation 18-20, Hebrews 9-10, and Proverbs 31:26-29. For the complete reading plan, visit ascensionpress.com/bibleinayear. King of Kings. Lord of Lords. Do we truly understand the reverence associated with these truths and phrases describing Jesus? Emma Dotter is in the podcast studio today meeting us in the book of Revelation 19, teaching us the gravity and true definition of these titles. Today's challenge: Do you merely acknowledge that Jesus is the King of Kings and Lord of Lords? Or do you genuinely live like it?
