Dear Readers and Listeners: What has been destroying America's airports across the country? Learn how graft and corruption on the part of local officials pursuing personal economic gain and pet projects are literally undermining the nation's security interests, endangering commercial and military pilots, and harming veterans at community airports - all of which are in violation of Federal and State laws as well as Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) guidelines. Today Angela and Patti will be discussing the hot topic of social media and how it can affect relationships. We are concerned about how social media can cause hurt feelings, depression, addiction to social media, and comparison. Here are some reflection questions: What makes people feel it’s okay to post things that they would most likely never say face to face or outside of social media?   Where does this boldness or insensitivity come from?   Is proving your point worth all the drama and losing friendships over? Today, we would like to explore how to manage some of those difficult behaviors. How do we relate to social media in a healthy way? Are you taking a break from social media because it is “too toxic?" What do you find frustrating about social media, what makes it so toxic to you?  We love to hear from listeners if they could share what they find disappointing about social media, why not leave us a comment. To the Listeners: What are some of the things you ENJOY seeing on social media. What do you love seeing?  Angela:  I love healing meditations and I share those because I love them. What do you love seeing?  Maybe you can share a comment on the podcast and let us know. Patti: I love seeing photos of families having fun together, vacation photos, travel adventures and cute positive memes. In a previous podcast (episode 4) we discussed going Beyond Comparison and Accepting One Self. “Cancel culture refers to the popular practice of withdrawing support for (canceling) public figures and companies after they have done or said something considered objectionable or offensive. Cancel culture is generally discussed as being performed on social media in the form of group shaming.” https://www.dictionary.com/e/pop-culture/cancel-culture/ Patti wrote a blog posts similar to this subject called Don’t Be That Guy!    It is about shaming someone or making them the poster child in the workplace. When someone has committed a bad behavior or done something procedurally wrong, in some organizations, they use this term “Don’t be that (Guy) Person” for humiliation or an example of what not to do. I feel this is similar to the cancel culture. In the blog post is a poll.  With this question - Is shaming an effective management strategy? Angela will be holding gentle movement classes Come September and to be informed  SIGN UP TO HEAR ABOUT CLASSES in the link in the show notes. For me dance and movement are an authentic way to connect to myself and others. https://bit.ly/3fI6EpQ Thank you for listening and supporting our podcast.  We would love to hear from you about this topic.  Leave us a comment or voice message on Anchor. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/building-better-relationships-at-home-and-work-with-angela-and-patti/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/building-better-relationships-at-home-and-work-with-angela-and-patti/support

Andy asks Chris: “What is the coolest thing going on your life right now?” • Chris says teaching business owners and leaders the information from EntreLeadership is the most exciting thing for him • Andy thinks EntreLeadership is an important book because it gives business owners a direction that they previously couldn’t put into words The lesson from EntreLeadership that has the biggest impact is personality styles • We give direction the same way we like to receive direction • If you try to give someone direction that way they don’t like to receive information, you’ll never get through to them • As a leader, it’s your job to learn how to communicate to people in a way they will understand, not theirs • Responsibility is great because it gives us hope and control over situations When you can change the culture of where you spend your most time (for most, your workplace), it starts changing the way you look at everything: • Your family • Your kids • What you do on your weekends When your home life, finances, or personal fulfillment is suffering, it’s inevitable that your work performance will also suffer • This is why Andy’s message works for companies in every industry • Regardless of your profession, the principles of leadership and entrepreneurship apply to you, because we’re all in sales Questions for Listeners • What’s the best example of leadership you’ve ever seen? o Phone: 1-800-726-ANDY o E-Mail: InTheLoop@AndyAndrews.com o Facebook.com/AndyAndrews o Twitter.com/AndyAndrews
