Episode 20 - Black Panther: Wakanda Forever Movie Review This week we both took a trip out to our local theaters, and saw Black Panther: Wakanda Forever on its record-breaking opening weekend. Few sequels have ever faced so daunting a challenge as this film, as the loss of Chadwick Boseman to cancer two years ago left a hole that for a long time it seemed would be impossible to continue on without. How did they do, both in terms of honoring Boseman and in terms of making a movie worthy of his memory. We'll talk about it, the short answer is pretty well. Pretty damn well indeed. Hey everyone! This week, we review John Krasinski's A Quiet Place 2 and Brian De Palma's Blow Out (1981). We've continued with our second Berserk anime series tribute installment, as well, and Mark swears the story is going to get really messed up soon. In the news, we cover more about Sony proudly, albeit misguidedly, keeping Spider-Man out of his own universe with a new Kraven the Hunter film. We also talk about Danai Gurira in a new MCU Black Panther spinoff, a new installment in Sam Raimi's Evil Dead franchise, and some movie theaters that will be loosening the mask mandate. On next week's show, we're reviewing the third installment in The Conjuring sequels, The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It. We get to pair that with 1979's The Amityville Horror and see if it's truly a horror classic. You can find both films streaming on HBO Max or other On-Demand services on June 6th. Be sure to follow us on Twitter (@TheReelAppeal), Facebook, Instagram, and you can contact the show at TheReelAppeal@gmail.com.
