Tony and JoeyC team up to talk about Double Dragon! The video game movie from the 90s that isn't as good as Mortal Kombat, as funny as Street Fighter, or as memorable as Super Mario Bros. It is full of dumb fun though! In post-apocalyptic California, brothers Billy Lee (Scott Wolf) and Jimmy (Mark Decascos) are highly trained martial artists living in the ravaged city of New Angeles. The pair have been trained by Satori (Julia Nickson), who took them in after their parents died. When Satori finds herself pursued by evil overlord Koga Shuko (Robert Patrick), who's intent on possessing her mystical dragon medallion, the siblings are charged with protecting it from Shuko and his henchmen.

This week Zach and Sloane unwrap 1996's horny mom fantasy rom-com: Michael. It was a random choice but thank God (and the angels) that Zach and Sloane got their eyes on this film because it has everything fans of Mummy Dearest love: otherworldly entities, the guy who played Mario in the live action Super Mario Bros., untamed chest hair, overalls, milk chugging while smoking cigs, and gratuitous pie eating and dancing scenes. This movie makes little to no sense and has little to no plot but that doesn't mean it's not a super charming heartwarming 90s classic! So give into the holiday spirit and listen to this week's episode of Mummy Dearest!Support the show

This revolutionary game was developed back in 2009 and was initially named Cave Game. Today, video games industry is worth a mindblowing $100 billion globally, and it all started in 1952 when a British professor developed OXO, a game similar to tic-tac-toe, for his university dissertation. It's showtime for some hot takes! This week on the NXpress Nintendo Podcast, Cameron Daxon, Marc Kaliroff, and Campbell Gill deliver a show packed with nostalgia, collaboration, and controversial opinions. Before getting into the show's spiciest review this year, though, it's time for some listener fan mail. In honor of the impending Super Mario Bros. Movie, the gang reflect on their most cherished memories with the Super Mario Bros. series, ranging from the original release on the NES up to the Wii era with Super Mario Galaxy. With that wholesome positivity out of the way, it's time for the main event: Marc's review of Bayonetta 3. Hopes were high for this long-awaited installment in the fan-favorite action series, but Marc's review paints a whole different picture: he rails against the game for its uneven gameplay, nonsensical story, and disappointing performance on Switch, among many, many other criticisms. Bayonetta 3 reviews might be overwhelmingly positive, but when stacking up the game against its predecessors, Marc makes one thing clear: there's no comparison. Get ready for a Witch Time combo of negativity in what has to be one of the spiciest rants in NXpress history! astly, the gang steers the show towards positivity with Campbell's review of the delightful It Takes Two on Switch. The Game of the Year of 2021, It Takes Two is unlike any other multiplayer title on a platform that is already known for its masterful co-op library–and best of all, it's received an excellent Switch port. The Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) is an 8-bit third-generation home video game console produced by Nintendo. It was first released in Japan in 1983 as the Family Computer (FC),[note 1] commonly known as the Famicom.[note 2] The NES, a redesigned version, was released in American test markets on October 18, 1985, before becoming widely available in North America and other countries. After developing a series of successful arcade games in the early 1980s, Nintendo planned to create a home video game console. Rejecting more complex proposals, the Nintendo president Hiroshi Yamauchi called for a simple, cheap console that ran games stored on cartridges. The controller design was reused from Nintendo's portable Game & Watch games. Nintendo released several add-ons, such as a light gun for shooting games. The NES was one of the best-selling consoles of its time, and helped revitalize the US game industry following the video game crash of 1983.[d] It introduced a now-standard business model of licensing third-party developers to produce and distribute games. The NES featured a number of groundbreaking games, such as the 1985 platform game Super Mario Bros. and the 1986 action-adventure games The Legend of Zelda and Metroid, which became long-running franchises. It was succeeded in 1990 by the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. In 2011, IGN named the NES the greatest video game console of all time. source: Wikipedia In this episode I explore why this is one of my favorite systems of all time ... --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/wvuncommonplace/message

TV demands the reason why Tom Brady came out of retirement if he is going to play like a quarterback that should've stayed retired, but is interrupted by Young Jaimé who crashes the podcast to celebrate his first win in fantasy sports (2:45). TV tries shattering the fantasy of Young Jaime's faith in his Los Angeles Clippers, as he also highlights the opening matchups of the NBA season (10:00). EstoBro welcomes Young Jaimé back properly to begin the early discussions of the FIFA World Cup that will be taking place over the holiday this year (21:00). The Gents break ground on the craziness, politics, and unspoken concepts of international competition, before breaking down the host country Qatar and their grouping; which includes Young Jaimé's home country of Ecuador in Group A. They also focus on Group C which contains Argentia, as they argue the possibility of the final World Cup that will include Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo as they try to bring the trophy home to their home countries (34:30). After the initial World Cup preview, it is time to focus on the World Series coming up this weekend (46:00), between the Houston Astros and the Philadelphia Phillies. After analyzing the competition and making predictions on how many games the series will go to, EstoBro continues to celebrate the title drought of the New York Yankees (53:15). The topic of the week when regarding sports royalty, the Gents break down the 'blowing up' of the Death Star for the Evil Empire. With the show tailored to a major focus on sports, the Gents turn their attention to the nerd topics (66:30) with a rumor of Ryan Reynolds joining the cast of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia and where the voice actors playing Wario and Waluigi in The Super Mario Bros. Movie? The Gents debate which actors would be great fits for both doppelgängers of the Italian plumber mascots of Nintendo. Mike shares his list of what he thinks are the Top 10 most iconic scenes in horror movie history. From Halloween to The Shining, he gives his reasons what makes these scenes so memorable that they even transcends the horror movie genre. In the movie review, Mike asked for the Movie Crew's help discovering a new horror movie that he hasn't seen before. He reviews the movie with the most votes: The Dark and the Wicked (2020). In the Trailer Park, Mike gives his thoughts behind the first look and listen of Chris Pratt in the new animated Super Mario Bros. moving coming out on April 7, 2023 and his thoughts on the video game genre as a whole and why we oddly have such high exceptions for a genre that hasn't warranted that level of passion.
