Don't just clean the outside of the cup! We continue our School of Jesus series with a message from Pastor Destin Williams of Mount Carmel Baptist Church. In Matthew 5:8, Jesus declared, "blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see God". Religion cleans us up on the outside, but Jesus is not merely interested in the external. He desires for us to be cleaned up and holy on the inside. This means that our hearts, our minds, will, intellect and desires, will become clean as well. The word of God should be deeply planted on the inside of us, so we can rest in His will for our lives.

Mt. Carmel Baptist Church has two locations: its Campbellton Rd. location and its original Summerhill location. Mt. Carmel boasts a large selection of ministries, many of which cater to the community. We believe Jesus is Lord and Savior, the only way to heaven, the 2nd member of the Trinity, that He died on the cross and rose from the grave on the 3rd day. We believe in the Trinity (the Father, Son/Logos, and Holy Spirit). We believe the Bible is the infallible Word of God given to men by God. We believe the Holy Spirit moved through men of old to write the content within the Bible. We believe in baptism as a sacrament, but not a requirement for salvation. To be saved all one has to do is believe on Jesus in their heart and accept Him as Lord.

Bishop Darren A. Ferguson drops into the studio and drops a ton of knowledge. He spoke about his time in Rikers Island, his essention from earning his GED to now about to receive his Doctorate degree. Also, he informs us how he was a founding member of "The Hip Hop Church". Later in the show he dropped so many jewels about how the community needs to step up and police ourselves. How to interact with actual police, and a few programs he has started at Mount Carmel Baptist Church where he is the Pastor. This is probably the most informative and inspiring episode we've had!
