Under his leadership, Westmont has become both a superb Christian liberal arts college and one of the nation's leading undergraduate institutions, based on the findings of such respected organizations as the Carnegie Foundation, U.S. News and World Report and the Templeton Foundation. While president of Westmont, he was named among the 100 most effective college leaders in the U.S. based on a study funded by the Exxon Foundation. He was also a recipient of one of five President Leadership Awards and grants given nationally by the Knight Foundation.

Walter Hansen joined the Fuller faculty in 1995 as associate professor of New Testament and director of the Global Research Institute, which provides fellowships for scholars from the Two-Thirds World. At Fuller, Hansen's courses include exegetical studies, Interpretation of the Bible, New Testament Ethics, and Second Temple Judaism. He has had several books and articles published on selected subjects of Pauline scholarship. Most recently Hansen authored The Letter to the Philippians (2009) in the Pillar New Testament Commentary series and co-authored “Sacra Coversazione” (2009) with Bruce Herman in the journal Image. He was pastor of The Chapel in Cleveland, Ohio for eight years and a teacher for six years at Trinity Theological College in Singapore. He serves as a trustee for Westmont College, Santa Barbara Rescue Mission, and Rivendell Stewards’ Trust.

    Kenneth Uyeda Fong (D.Min., Fuller Theological Seminary) is senior pastor of Evergreen Baptist Church of Los Angeles, located in Rosemead, California.

A noted conference speaker and church leader, he is a pioneer in multi-Asian and multiethnic church ministry. Since 2003, he has served as a trustee of Westmont College in Santa Barbara, California. He has also served two terms on the board of trustees of InterVarsity Christian Fellowship/USA, as the board member for the Asian American Drug Abuse Program and as a contributing editor of Leadership Journal. He was the Bible expositor at the Urbana 2000 Student Missions Convention and preacher for Founder's Week at Moody Bible Institute. Fong also taught courses as an adjunct faculty member at Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, California, and is currently and adjunct professor for the Haggard School of Theology (Azusa Pacific University) in Azusa, California.

    Cruz was a powerful advocate in the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) for an evangelical theology and for church renewal. Dr. Cruz served on the faculty of Louisville Seminary from 1986 to 1996. When he was called to LPTS, Cruz became the first African American professor to be tenured on the faculty. He was recognized globally for his work in biblical studies, for his preaching, and tireless efforts in race relations. In addition to presenting numerous lectures around the world, he is perhaps most recognized for his publications, Breaking Down the Walls: Responding to the Racism that Divides Us (1992) and How Shall We Witness? Faithful Evangelism in a Reformed Tradition (1995), co-edited with former Louisville Seminary Professor Milton J. Coalter.Following ordination, he became the first African American in the United Presbyterian Church of North America to lead an all-white congregation. He earned his doctorate from Free University of Amsterdam in the Netherlands and spent two years teaching at Dubuque Theological Seminary in Iowa. Following a three-year teaching position at Western Theological Seminary in Holland, Mich., Cruz joined the faculty of Louisville Seminary in 1986. She has held numerous positions at universities, colleges and churches across the country including Artistic Director for the Washington Performing Arts Society gospel choral program; Artist-in-Residence with the School of Music and Assistant Director of African-American Student Development at Appalachian State University; Artist-in-Residence for the Chaplaincy at Westmont College; Composer-in-Residence at Indiana University of Pennsylvania and Scholar-in-Residence at Grinnell College in Grinnell, Iowa; Choral Conductor and Pianist at the New Christ Memorial Church under the legendary Pastor Andraé Crouch and currently Director of Choral Music at the renowned Faithful Central Bible Church in Los Angeles, California under the leadership of Pastor Kenneth C. Ulmer where she founded the acclaimed Sacred Praise Chorale.

    G. Walter Hansen joined the Fuller faculty in 1995 as associate professor of New Testament and director of the Global Research Institute, which provides fellowships for scholars from the Two-Thirds World. At Fuller, Hansen's courses include exegetical studies, Interpretation of the Bible, New Testament Ethics, and Second Temple Judaism. He has had several books and articles published on selected subjects of Pauline scholarship. Most recently Hansen authored The Letter to the Philippians (2009) in the Pillar New Testament Commentary series and co-authored “Sacra Coversazione” (2009) with Bruce Herman in the journal Image. He was pastor of The Chapel in Cleveland, Ohio for eight years and a teacher for six years at Trinity Theological College in Singapore. He serves as a trustee for Westmont College, Santa Barbara Rescue Mission, and Rivendell Stewards’ Trust.

    Bart Tarman spent 18 years at Westmont as Westmont’s Chaplain, after working on Young Life staff in Denver and serving as associate pastor at El Montecito Presbyterian Church. He lives in Washington, D.C., where he and his wife, Linda, minister to members of Congress. He has been associated with the National Prayer Breakfast for more than 30 years. An ordained Presbyterian minister, he graduated from Fuller Theological Seminary and the University of Denver. The Tarmans have three children and four grandchildren.
