The topic today on Bridging the Gap will be fishing.... sort of! What did Jesus mean when He told his potential disciples, “Come with Me and I'll make you fishers of men?” Do you want to be a fisher of men too? Pastor Lloyd is in Mark chapter one, speaking of one of the most important aspects of being a Christian - repenting of our sins!

Even a quick glance at television today will tell you that this world has a problem with humility. The catch phrase of the year 2025 has got to be “It's all about ME!”. Pastor Lloyd continues his study of First Peter.  Peter has some good words to say about the need for a humble heart in chapter five, verses five through seven.

Today, Pastor Lloyd resumes his expositional study of First Peter.  We'll be considering chapter one and the first three verses of chapter two, where we receive encouragement not only turn to God and His word in times if trial, but also to understand why God allows those trials in our lives.  Look, no one likes to suffer hardship, but God has a wonderful plan to grow our faith through them.

 Put yourself in the disciple's shoes. They're hearing reports that Jesus is alive and appearing to people. They didn't believe at first, and they were scared of what might happen to them. Now Jesus is about to appear to these fearful disciples. Let's see what happens. Pastor Lloyd is in John twenty, beginning in verse nineteen.

It's been well said that if you're not prepared to die you're not really prepared to live. But when you have Jesus you have all you need for life, death, time, and eternity. What a contrast Christianity is from the way of the world and the world's religions that seek not to give, but to take! In Christianity the emphasis is on what God, in His love, has given! Today, pastor Lloyd Pulley shares the second half of a message from Colossians chapter one, titled “The Plan of The Cross”,  and has us consider a situation most of us have faced at one time or another - feeling like our faith in Christ is not what it used to be. That special experience of being born again is something we never forget, but as we move along in life, sometimes that excitement kid of dwindles, doesn't it? Pastor Lloyd is going to urge us today to continue in our faith, and he'll use the words of Paul in Colossians chapter one, verses nineteen through twenty-three.

Pastor Lloyd Gilbert connects Haggai 2:1-9 to Romans 6:1-9 showing how through Christ's resurrection, believers are empowered to live a new life, free from the power of sin.

Lloyd is currently leading us through an exciting and relevant study in the Gospel of John. I say relevant because that's one of the most wonderful things about studying God's word.... Though it was written centuries ago, the lessons contained here are important and practical for everyone today as well. Turn to John chapter twelve for today's study as Pastor Lloyd explores the hours leading up to the arrest, crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Pastor Lloyd has been leading us through the Gospel of John in verse by verse fashion and we find ourselves today in chapter ten.  As we're about to see, this chapter contrasts the false shepherds and the True Shepherd. It all comes down to the same decision for every human being - are you going to follow Jesus, the real shepherd?

Jesus had just cleared out the Temple Courts and He made this interesting statement: “Destroy this temple and I will raise it again in three days.” Jesus wasn't talking about the Temple building. He was talking about his own body! Pastor Lloyd will use that statement as the foundation for his teaching on the resurrection of Christ and how it impacts our daily life.

I'm sure you've noticed the way Christmas has changed over the past several decades. What happened? Pastor Lloyd brings us back to the real meaning of Christmas today, and I can't think of anything we need to be reminded of more, can you? 

Pastor Lloyd has titled our current series “Essential Christianity”, because the fundamentals of our Christian faith is what this wonderful chapter is all about. We'll find out today that chapter eight of Romans is particularly significant for believers in Jesus Christ...and extremely encouraging I might add.  We'll be examining our “No Condemnation” status here today on the broadcast.
