Melchizedek School of Priesthood | May 15, 2025 The Book of Revelation is fundamentally about revealing Christ, not merely predicting tribulation or the antichrist. True understanding requires spiritual discernment and connecting related scriptures across the Bible. Just as times and seasons exist on Earth to provide second chances, spiritual revelation follows a cyclical pattern that allows growth through each season. Spirits are influencers that speak to humanity, chart pathways, and reproduce their nature through people. Every belief system and lifestyle stems from a spirit's influence. The spirit of truth acknowledges Christ's coming in the flesh, while the spirit of error denies this reality. Christ came not only in His own flesh but continues to come through believers as His body. To experience transformation, one must reject familiar spirits that perpetuate generational patterns. These spirits maintain family behaviors, belief systems, and even health conditions through DNA. True freedom comes through declaring a new identity: "I am born of God, not of the will of man." Like a Melchizedek priest who is without earthly descent, believers can walk away from generational patterns through intentional lifestyle changes. Transformation demands consistency. When healing occurs, maintain the change through permanent lifestyle adjustments—different foods, environments, relationships, and thought patterns. Don't return to old ways that created previous conditions. The renewal of the mind happens not merely through information but through applying spiritual instructions that reshape thinking and behavior. The communion table represents covenant, where Christ invites all to participate in His broken body and blood. This participation requires discerning the Lord's body—recognizing our connection to other believers rather than focusing selfishly on personal needs. In this covenant, believers find eternal life, the ultimate purpose of revelation. For those seeking deeper understanding, approach scripture with humility. Don't call unfamiliar teachings heresy; instead, recognize God reveals different dimensions to different people. Test everything by the Spirit, interpret scriptures in community with other scriptures, and remember that revelation is entrusted to faithful servants who will teach others. Welcome to The Daily, where we study the Bible verse by verse, chapter by chapter, every single day. We are in the Gospel of Mark. Visit the website and purchase the Scripture Journal for this study so that you can follow along with us. I am giving a shout-out today to Tony Wendt from Neenah, WI. Thank you for being a monthly partner in Project23 and helping us share the Gospel with millions as we work our way through the entire Bible. Today, we're looking at Mark 2:13-14: He went out again beside the sea, and all the crowd was coming to him, and he was teaching them. And as he passed by, he saw Levi the son of Alphaeus sitting at the tax booth, and he said to him, “Follow me.” And he rose and followed him. — Mark 2:13-14 Levi wasn't looking for Jesus. He was busy doing what he always did—collecting taxes, padding his pockets, ripping off his own people. He was despised by people. Rejected by locals. Labeled a traitor. The guy nobody thought Jesus would want, Jesus wanted. Jesus walks right up to him and says two words that changed everything: "Follow me." No elaborate speech. No warning to his present posse. No preconditions to the call. Just a command that cuts through the shame, guilt, and isolation. And Levi responds. Immediately. He doesn't overthink it, unlike many others. He doesn't argue with a man he doesn't even know. He just gets up and goes. That's what happens when Jesus calls. He sees beyond your past. He sees beyond your reputation. He calls you to leave your booth behind—whatever old life you've been sitting in—and walk into a brand-new identity. If you're wondering whether Jesus could ever want someone like you, remember Levi. You're exactly the kind of person Jesus came to call. So, what booth are you still sitting in today? It's time to leave it behind, get up, and follow Jesus. #FollowMe, #NewIdentity, #Project23 ASK THIS: What old identity have you been clinging to that Jesus is calling you to leave behind? How would you respond if Jesus said "Follow me" to you right now? What fears keep you seated instead of standing up to follow? Who in your life needs to hear that Jesus calls outsiders like Levi? DO THIS: Identify one “booth” you're stuck at—some place where shame, fear, or comfort is keeping you seated. Stand up. Take one step today toward following Jesus more fully. PRAY THIS: Jesus, thank you for seeing me when others overlook me. Give me the courage to leave behind anything that holds me back from following you. Amen PLAY THIS: I Thank God.

In today's message, A New Identity, Pastor Jack Morris explores the powerful contrast between two of Jesus' disciples—Peter and Judas. Both men failed the Lord during His final hours: Judas betrayed Him, and Peter denied Him. But their stories took very different turns. While Judas refused to repent and fell into despair, Peter turned back to Jesus and was fully restored, becoming a bold leader in the early Church. Join Pastor Morris as he shares how God's grace offers each of us a new identity, no matter our past, when we choose repentance and restoration through Christ. Ephesians 1:1-23 NIVPaul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, To God's holy people in Ephesus, the faithful in Christ Jesus Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love he predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves. In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God's grace that he lavished on us. With all wisdom and understanding he made known to us the mystery of his will according to his good pleasure, which he purposed in Christ to be put into effect when the times reach their fulfillment—to bring unity to all things in heaven and on earth under Christ. In him we were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will in order that we, who were the first to put our hope in Christ, might be for the praise of his glory. And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God's possession—to the praise of his glory. For this reason, ever since I heard about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all God's people I have not stopped giving thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers. I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength he exerted when he raised Christ from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is invoked, not only in the present age but also in the one to come. And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way.
When we begin to understand who we are “in Christ” then we begin to know our true identity, our privileges, and our purpose.
Today, on Karl and Crew, we finished the week discussing identity in Christ. As followers of Christ, we cannot conform to the expectations and culture of the world; our identities are found in Him. We turned to John 14:6, which affirms that, as it says, Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life, and that no one can come to the Father without going through Him. We also turned to 2 Corinthians 5:17, where Paul tells us that we are new creations in Christ. Therefore, our identities should align with Him. Jon Kelly also shared his testimony on finding his new identity in Christ. Pastor Kelly is a husband, father, and Lead Pastor of Chicago West Bible Church. He is also an alumnus of Moody Bible Institute. We also had Heather Rice Minus join us to discuss prison ministry. Heather is the President and CEO of Prison Fellowship, the nation’s largest Christian nonprofit serving prisoners, former prisoners, and families. Many scholars have written that Ephesians 1:3-14 are some of the most powerful verses in the entire Bible. They clearly describe who we are “in Christ” and the new identity in which we can now live.
Matthew 3:13-17, Galatians 3:26-27.

Her story is raw, real, and full of moments that will make you pause and reflect on your own path. She sheds light on navigating vulnerability, the push-pull of sharing online, and the sacred power of embracing spiritual awakening and new chapters—not as something to fear, but as the space where your next evolution begins. This is your reminder that you are allowed to change. The body of Christ is symbolized as “one bread.” (1 Cor. 10:17). We receive this status from the compassionate Savior who declared, “I am the living bread which came down from heaven” (Jn. 6:51). His purpose in coming was to feed a desperately-hungry, spiritually-emaciated human race, starving for truth.

“ I woke up in the hospital and told everybody that this isn't gonna define me. I'm going to be playing lacrosse again. But there was always that what-if in the back of my head; I didn't really know if it would be possible. Having amputees sit across from me and hearing everything that they've been through … they were telling me that I'd be able to live an active lifestyle. I would be able to do whatever I wanted to with my life. And if I really wanted to, that I would be able to play lacrosse again.” Noelle Lambert was a collegiate lacrosse player at UMass Lowell when she had a moped accident that changed everything. Her first thoughts, as she began to wrap her head around what happened, were of whether she'd have to give up sports—which, up until this point, her life had revolved around. Her family and team rallied around her, and she had special visitors in the hospital: Survivors of the 2013 Boston Marathon bombings, who'd lost limbs and gone on to live active, full lives. Their example encouraged her, and though it took hard work, expensive equipment, and an emotional breakdown she talks about in this episode, Noelle would eventually return to playing lacrosse at the Division 1 level. After graduation, she transitioned to para track and field, swiftly breaking records and earning trips to the Paralympics in Tokyo and Paris. She's also dabbled in snowboarding, been a contestant on Survivor, and has started her own non-profit, the Born to Run Foundation, which provides active prosthetics to others. She's had plenty of self-doubt along the way, as she shares, but she's learned to turn it into fuel for each new adventure. Immeasurably More // New Identity Ephesians 4:17-32 (NIV)“So I tell you this, and insist on it in the Lord, that you must no longer live as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their thinking. They are darkened in their understanding and separated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them due to the hardening of their hearts. Having lost all sensitivity, they have given themselves over to sensuality so as to indulge in every kind of impurity, and they are full of greed. That, however, is not the way of life you learned when you heard about Christ and were taught in him in accordance with the truth that is in Jesus. You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness. Therefore each of you must put off falsehood and speak truthfully to your neighbor, for we are all members of one body. “In your anger do not sin”: Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, and do not give the devil a foothold. Anyone who has been stealing must steal no longer, but must work, doing something useful with their own hands, that they may have something to share with those in need. Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.” 1. In Christ, We Have a New Identity. Ephesians 4:22 (NIV)“You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires.” Ephesians 4:24 (NIV)“And to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.” Colossians 3:9-10 (NIV)“…You have taken off your old self with its practices and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator.” Romans 13:12, 14 (NIV)“…Let us put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light. Rather, clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not think about how to gratify the desires of the flesh.” Ephesians 4:1 (NIV)“…I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received.” Matthew 6:8 (ESV)“Do not be like them…” Romans 12:2 (NIV)"Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” 2. In Christ We Should be Honest and Not Lie. Ephesians 4:25 (NIV)“Therefore, each of you must put off falsehood and speak truthfully to your neighbor, for we are all members of one body.” Christians Are to Have Righteous Anger, Not Unrighteous. Ephesians 4:26-27 (NIV)“In your anger do not sin”: Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, and do not give the devil a foothold.” Psalm 4:4 (ESV)“Be angry, and do not sin; ponder in your own hearts on your beds, and be silent.” Psalm 119:53 (ESV)“Hot indignation seizes me because of the wicked, who forsake your law.” Mark 3:5 (ESV)“And he looked around at them with anger, grieved at their hardness of heart…” Christians Are to Work, Be Generous, and Not Steal. Ephesians 4:28 (NIV)“Anyone who has been stealing must steal no longer, but must work, doing something useful with their own hands, that they may have something to share with those in need.” Christians are to Replace Corrupt Talk with Edifying Talk. Ephesians 4:29 (NIV)“Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.” Ephesians 4:30 (NIV)“And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.” Christians are to Replace Bitterness and Rage with Kindness and Forgiveness. Ephesians 4:31-32 (NIV)“Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.”
