James Rodrigues returns with yet another movie Rafe was unaware of before it being picked for the podcast: 1999's Ravenous which stars a heck of a cast including Guy Pearce, Robert Carlyle, and Jeffrey Jones. We discuss visiting movies with problematic people involved (Jones), the influence of movie soundtracks, Guy Pearce channeling his best Ethan Hawke, and the fine line between cannibalism and vampirism as part of our conversation surrounding this oddball comedy/horror/western picture you probably Have Not Seen. ATTENTION! If you can read this, we can't post all the intended episode descriptions on the normal feed. We've unlocked the Patreon episodes this week for the intended presentation! Also: Willkommen! Es gibt also keinen Titel. Hm. -------- The description limit cuts off there! Welcome to Podcast Reviews Reviews Podcast! The podcast that reviews the reviews of its podcast. If this is the first time you are finally hearing and understanding an episode of PRRP, it's because we have adapted this week’s episode perfectly to your native tongue, using Google Translate, to what I assume is minimal error. We realized that although our audience and appeal is broad and multinational, perhaps some of our listeners would feel alienated by the constant use of English. So we’ve decided that for Language class this week, to the detriment of your podcast feed, we’d create an episode for each of our listeners, as determined by our analytics. So if you see an episode with a language you don’t speak or understand, don’t worry, we’re going to transcribe this very one into your language and you can just ignore all the rest. Oh, and we've even put the English episode through Google Translate, to be on an even playing field. If that isn't an idiom you have, that means like, to make sure the football doesn't slope into the goal for any particular team. (A brief aside: we’ve since realized the Global Romantic Alphabet is only 26 letters, so we are only going to include the first 26 languages that listen to our show, because we’re not sure how else to title the episodes that wouldn’t be too confusing, except for alphanumerically.) So: welcome! If you didn’t understand the show until now, but you’ve been listening so far, I’m glad you’ve stuck around! If maybe you were afraid to leave a review in your own language, thinking we’d ignore it or misunderstand it, we wanted to alleviate your fears! All reviews left in languages unfamiliar to us will undergo a thorough Google Translate experience, to the point of austere clarity on our part. So don’t worry about being silenced! We want all our international listeners to feel included. We do have one review this week, and since we likely don’t understand your language, we hope you bear with us as we just place the review music at the spot it would go in the English episode, so if it starts early, or late, it’s just that we don’t know your word for “review.” Probably we will after making all these episodes though. Today’s review is a 5 star review from Dave Keine, and it’s on Podchaser, so there’s no title. Ahem. “This is such a delightfully weird show. The host is great and love how it feels improv'd and polished at the same time. Terrifically strange concept, executed perfectly.” Thank you Dave. Yes, generally it is improv’d very nicely, but unfortunately this episode we had to write our review of yours down first, so as to make sure all the languages were reviewing the same way, so we couldn’t rely on our usual methods of fast-thinking witticisms. Regardless, the review is appreciated, and we give it, as they say in (insert your language here): Five Stars! Okay, so the music should stop here, but apologies again if it already did or hasn’t yet. Anyway, we hope this language episode helps you come out of your shell. I wonder if that idiom translates easily. In English, it means to, like, hm. Like. Okay, if you are a crab, and you are molting, you might not want to leave a review, but you should? I’m actually not sure what the idiom means. Either way, you can now, like a crab, send in those reviews, whatever your dialect. Oh, and if your language wasn’t represented here, please blame the limitations of the alphabet, because we’ve included every country we could, so please leave a review about what language we missed and we’ll make that episode for you for you to understand. For our second summer bonus episode I sit down with Kyle Decker (though to be honest I don't know if he was sitting down), GM and host of Quest Friends, a delightful Numenera Actual Play podcast. Kyle presents me great questions provided by himself, Tina Daniels, Podcast Reviews Reviews Podcast, Steven LaFond, Dylan (Bardic Geek) and Tavius of Spooning in the Apocalypse audiodrama.
