On this episode of the podcast that wields films like deadly weapons, the guys return from a brief hiatus to tackle one of the strangest high-concept movies of the last decade: The Man Who Killed Hitler and Then the Bigfoot. Starring the eternally weathered and deeply mustachioed Sam Elliott, the film answers its wacky title with meditations on aging, government conspiracies, and wartime trauma. Fun! Can a man with a voice aged in bourbon barrels—and enough quiet manliness to make the Marlboro Man—look like a ballerina hold together a movie this ambitiously bizarre? Jay and Mike offer their thoughts, then count down their Bottom Five Microgenres: those hyper-specific cinematic niches that severely test the patience of the co-hosts. Along the way, a few beloved films catch stray bullets, including Ray, Black Beauty, and Freaky Friday. Then it's time for an unexpectedly combative round of Dueling Double Bills before Jay once again reveals what fresh cinematic suffering Mike will endure on the next episode.

The Good Brothers are in need of a palate-cleanser after last week's final Future Double Feature in podcast history, so they're jumping through Tom Turbine's multiversal portal to review their most visited Elseworld to date with the Batman: The Brave and the Bold episode "The Criss Cross Conspiracy!"The plot involves a wacky Freaky Friday-style story that sees Felix Faust aide Batwoman in swapping bodies with Batman in order to exact her revenge on the Riddler for exposing her secret identity. The hosts break down the light-hearted tale while discussing some of the visual gags used to drive home the body-swap. Additionally, they compare this to other brain-swap episodes, discuss Dietrich Bader's outstanding performance as both Batrman and Batwoman as Batman and more! Our exit today has us trying to get in touch with our feminine side. This week, we are looking at a pair of films in which male actors attempt to play women in different ways. First, we are going to talk about Juwanna Mann, written by Bradley Allenstein and directed by Jesse Vaughan. Next, we will talk about The Hot Chick, written by Tom Brady and Rob Schneider and directed by Tom Brady. One film has our male protagonist simply trying to pretend to be a woman while the other has the male actor's body inhabited by the spirit of a teenage girl.Along the way, we discuss the two leading men (podcast favorite Michael A. Nunez and unfavorite Rob Schneider), deflategate, the Steph Curry family tree, our love of Rachel McAdams, Mean Girls, Julie Andrews, Tilda Swinton, Freaky Friday, the WNBA, and an Adam Sandler imitation from Tripp! Plus, a magical Letterboxd Watchlist moment AND Tripp has too much fun saying Puff Smokey Smoke over and over again.Theme music by Jonworthymusic.Powered by RiversideFM.CFF Films with Ross and friends.Movies We've Covered on the Show on Letterboxd.Movies Recommended on the Show on Letterboxd.

Working Girl, directed by Mike Nichols, stars Harrison Ford, Melanie Griffith, Sigourney Weaver, with Alec Baldwin and Joan Cusack. Tess, played by Melanie Griffith, ascends the corporate ladder using her book smarts and street smarts, and by pretending to be somebody she's not. Tess strives to do big things, and has plenty of good ideas to get her foot in the door until she's caught, accused of being an imposter. With Sigourney Weaver as her boss Katharine, and Harrison Ford as Jack Trainer the love interest, the movie has plenty of laughs, and lessons too. Professor Karen Cheng joins the show to talk about what makes Working Girls such a fun, rewatchable movie.-Professor Karen Cheng is the author of Designing Type, a comprehensive, systematic guide to the design of letters, published by Yale University Press. Since its initial publication in 2006, Designing Type has been translated into German, Spanish, French, Ukrainian, Chinese, Japanese and Korean, and it has been ranked #14 on a list of "Top 50 Typography Books of the Last 50 Years" in the journal Visible Language. As a researcher, Cheng has investigated how scientists can collaborate with designers to aid public and interdisciplinary communication. She is co-author of the widely referenced "A Brief Guide to Designing Effective Figures for the Scientific Paper" and has published on the positive impact of visual design on scientific communication and the role of visual design critiques in research practice, in the Information Design Journal. Cheng holds a Master's Degree in Design from the University of Cincinnati College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning and an Honors Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from Penn State. Prior to joining the faculty at the University of Washington in 1997, she worked in Brand Management at Procter & Gamble.https://art.washington.edu/people/karen-chenghttps://vimeo.com/52861172Designing Typehttps://amzn.to/4dZeNYvType Directors Club book discussionhttps://youtu.be/uEMtKyn1aGA"A Brief Guide to Designing Effective Figures for the Scientific Paper"https://advanced.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/abs/10.1002/adma.201102518Positive Impact of Visual Design on Scientific Communicationhttps://www.jbe-platform.com/content/journals/10.1075/idj.23.1.09cheThe Role of Visual Design Critiques in Research Practicehttps://www.jbe-platform.com/content/journals/10.1075/idj.22008.sem-Working Girl (1988)https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0096463/https://www.instagram.com/p/DTlPpI8knqNhttps://www.vanityfair.com/hollywood/2022/08/working-girl-remake-selena-gomez-Other movies and shows discussed:Anchroman 2 (2013)Freaky Friday (1976, 2003)The Intern (2015)Murderbot (2025)Sex, Lies, and Videotape (1989)Shrinking (2023-)Ted Lasso (2020-)Trading Places (1983)

This week on our Smallville rewatch podcast, we're breaking down Season 8 Episode 17, “Hex,” where Zatanna drops into the story and turns everything upside down. Including giving Chloe the life she thinks she wants by swapping her into Lois' shoes. What starts as a fun Freaky Friday-ish situation quickly hits deeper, as Chloe's jealousy, purpose, and relationships all get put under a microscope, while Zatanna's emotional story about bringing her father back adds real weight to the magic. On top of that, Clark gets flipped into a version of himself without his usual instincts, forcing Chloe to step up in a way that quietly sets up her future. Between the character growth, the chaos, and Zatanna absolutely stealing the episode, this one gave us way more to talk about than we expected.Support the show: https://patreon.com/hopefullyawesomeBecome a Member on Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCHRvjz_pKP1Th5Y8ZIwFMtQ/joinCheck out our Merch! - https://hopefullyawesome.creator-spring.com/This video is NOT sponsored. Freaky Friday Flashback -Touched by a Ghost - Episode 239Happy Friday!! a day late for the TBT - Throw Back Thursday, so this is rightfully called 'Freaky Friday Flashback' since we caught a voice during a spirit box session during the Pop up - Sip n' Shop last September 2025 at the King's Head Pub. During a lull in traffic......Jas was touched by a ghost, not once....but TWICE!!! so Kelly and Ashley from The Winnipeg Paranormal Group joined Jas (Me) on stage and we thought we would confront the Ghost/s to find out if they touched me! The results will shock you as the answers were very fast and clear. As well at the 10:18 mark you hear a mysterious voice respond to Ashley "Yes It Is" and I also have it at the end of the epiode a little louder. .....ENJOY!!! Enjoy this week's new episode!Music by Ruesche-Sounds https://www.youtube.com/channel/USqXOFollow us on Facebook, Instagram, Tiktok & ReddittIf you have a local paranormal story of Winnipeg or in Manitoba, please email us at giivinguptheghostpodcast.@gmail.com - or if you just want to say 'Hi'!!!

Episode 1000 of the Wrestling Mayhem Show is a celebration, a checkpoint, and a deep dive into one of the wildest projects the crew has taken on yet: Wrestling Mayhem Show Presents April Fools. Sorg is joined by Rizz, Dave Podnar, and Mad Mike as they look back at the live event, break down what worked, what surprised them, and why the show's weird ideas landed better than expected. Dave Podnar gives a full outsider review of the event after watching it back twice, offering notes on everything from the pre-show presentation to the chaos of the Freaky Friday match, Martian Mayhem, Bakery Boys vs. The Production, and the overall flow of the card. The crew also talks WrestleMania build, WWE's ESPN strategy, Trick Williams' momentum, the surprising appeal of Oba Femi vs. Brock, and why AAA has become such a fun watch lately. Along the way, there is classic Mayhem energy: jokes about episode 1000, Roman numeral math, Department of Jocks hazing, commentary on branding the new live events, and plenty of appreciation for everyone who helped turn the April Fools concept into a real wrestling show.

In the one-hundred-and-ninetieth episode (in which we swap roles Freaky-Friday-style), we explore the Spin Doctoring Fallacy, starting with Trump and co lying about the murders of Renee Nicole Good and Alex Pretti by ICE and CBP thugs. In Jim's British Politics Corner, we look at Keir Starmer avoiding a question, and Jo Moore's ill-advised attempts to bury bad news.In the Fallacy in the Wild section, we check out examples from Men in Black, Family Guy, and Yes, Minister.Mark and Jim go head to head in Fake News, the game in which Jim has to guess which one of three Kemi Badenoch quotes Mark made up.Then we talk about the timeline for ending the Iran war.And finally, we round up some of the other crazy Trump stories from the past week. The full show notes for this episode can be found at https://fallacioustrump.com/ft190 You can contact the guys at pod@fallacioustrump.com, on BlueSky @FallaciousTrump, Discord at fallacioustrump.com/discord or facebook at facebook.com/groups/fallacioustrumpAnd you can buy our T-shirts here: https://fallacioustrump.com/teeSubscribe to Fallacious Trump to make sure you never miss a logical fallacy. Rather than just mindless anti-Trump rhetoric, we apply skepticism and critical thinking to our Donald Trump analysis by exploring his liberal use of logical fallacies and cognitive biases, along with a bit of humor and news about US politics. (But there is also some of that much needed anti-Trump rhetoric.)Advertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy

Grace and Alvina switch places for this Freaky Friday episode! This one was suggested by a listener who provided some questions about what would happen if Grace and Alvina switched places and roles. What kind of editor would Grace be? How would she feel living in New York City and working in an office? What kind of author would Alvina be? How would she like living in a house in Northampton? Their answers may surprise you (or not!). For the Fortune Cookie segment, they talk about the recent news about the shuttering of the Dial Books for Young Readers imprint, plus layoffs. And they end as always with what they're grateful for. Click here to become a Patreon member: https://www.patreon.com/Bookfriendsforever1. This week we're getting freaky, then freakier, then friday, then friday..er? Anyway join us as we discuss the well deserved Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis renaissance, a couple of silly movies, and how while things change, most stays the same. But not our intro and outro, we can't seem to remember that so it's changing every week. Sorry about that. Music: "Baby You Change Your Mind" by Nouvellas

Anderson .Paak (K-Pops!, Oxnard, Malibu) is a Grammy Award-winning songwriter, music producer, and filmmaker. Anderson joins the Armchair Expert to discuss people discovering him through his wide-ranging collaborations, how his dad and uncle were like the hood version of Freaky Friday, and feeling grateful that he took the opportunity to repair with his father before he passed. Anderson and Dax talk about how his mom turned a strawberry stand into a multimillion dollar business into a prison stay, why the best musicians come out of church bands, and staring at Dr. Dre's feet while playing him songs for the first time. Anderson explains going viral with his Tiny Desk concert, making music videos as training to direct his first film, and why having a Trust Your Gut tattoo helps him to remember to do so.Follow Armchair Expert on the Wondery App or wherever you get your podcasts.
