Rodrigues célèbre également le Maha Shivratri, l'une des plus importantes fêtes du calendrier hindou. Les dévots ont participé à un pèlerinage et à une procession en direction de Pas Jérôme, le samedi 14 février, rendant hommage au dieu Shiva, symbole de renouveau et de conscience intérieure. La grande nuit de Shiva se tiendra ce dimanche soir au Kailashnath Mandir, à Pointe-Canon, à partir de 18 h, et se poursuivra jusqu'au lundi matin, offrant aux dévots un moment privilégié de méditation et de prière. Pour l'occasion, Shree Chintaram Ashock Kumar Ji, prêtre officiant venu de Maurice, accompagnera et bénira les dévots, souligne Vijay Balgobin, ancien secrétaire du Kailashnath Mandir et délégué de la Rodrigues Hindu Sabha. Reekoye Pritiviraj, président du Rodrigues Hindu Sabha, précise que le Chaar Pahar Ki Pooja se déroulera de 18 h à 4 h du matin, permettant aux dévots de vivre pleinement cette cérémonie spirituelle unique. Trishtee, jeune Mauricienne de foi hindoue, découvre pour la première fois à Rodrigues l'intensité et la ferveur de cette célébration.

Un passager qui était à bord du vol MK120, sous anonymat, nous raconte son expérience. Le samedi 7 février, les vacances avec sa famille auraient pu tourner au drame. L'ATR a fait un ‘hard landing' ce jour-là. Il est actuellement indisponible et fait l'objet d'examens techniques. Dès le jour de l'incident, des ingénieurs spécialisés ont été dépêchés sur place afin d'évaluer l'état de l'avion. Alors qu'il se rendait à Rodrigues pour la première fois, le passager sous anonymat nous raconte : « On aurait pu mourir » Il est encore sous le choc. La panique s'est rapidement propagée dans la cabine. Un autre passager témoigne de la scène : « Tous les passagers ont crié et hurlé dans l'avion, ce qui a provoqué un véritable mouvement de panique. » « J'ai très peur de reprendre cet avion la prochaine fois », souligne une autre passagère. Les conclusions de ces inspections, toujours attendues, permettront de déterminer l'ampleur exacte de l'incident.

Prayer & Sin dit la Grèce, la Méditerranée, et plus précisément encore, la mer Egée, l'Asie Mineure et les Balkans, les routes et les détours que seuls savent tracer les musiques et les musiciens.  Une Française et un Grec vivent avec leurs deux filles dans un petit village de Crète. Dafné sait à peine marcher quand son père, amoureux de la mer, ne remonte pas d'une plongée. Sa mère quitte l'île à jamais. Élevée en France, l'enfant grandit en passant tous ses étés en Grèce. Elle en sait la langue, la musique, les danses, le goût du vent, la saveur de la mer. Elle ne fréquente ni école de musique, ni conservatoire, mais se nourrit des musiques des fêtes sur une petite île de la mer Égée ou des CD qu'écoute sa mère. À cinq ans, elle pleure en découvrant Maria Callas. Dès lors, elle sait le sublime du chant qui emporte et la joie des danseurs se tenant les épaules… Elle apprend du chant d'Háris Alexíou (qui « dans sa voix obscure et profonde porte toute la Grèce », dit-elle), d'Aziza Mustafa Zadeh (« pour la virtuosité et la folie »), d'Ella Fitzgerald (« pour le masque de soleil, comme si la vie triomphait toujours »), d'Amália Rodrigues ou de l'enfant-prodige indien Aryya Banik, et elle chemine dans les albums de Ross Daly, multiinstrumentiste d'origine irlandaise devenu grec…  En 2013, elle rencontre un guitariste plutôt armé pour la chanson et le jazz, Paul Barreyre. « Mon âme sœur en musique. Nous commençons à jouer partout, dans les bars, à chaque trajet dans le métro, dans les Noctilien où ça apaise des gens qui se battent. Nous faisons quelque chose de festif, de joyeux, et on nous repère. »  Elle enregistre deux premiers albums, Djoyas de Mar (2018) et Varka (2021) et peu à peu commence à composer ses propres chansons, le répertoire de Prayer & Sin. Son autre complice (et cousin), Camille El Bacha, est le pianiste qui l'accompagne dans les arrangements. Le violoncelliste Sary Khalifé déploie une pâte orchestrale volontiers ample et cinématographique et Sylvain Barou apporte des couleurs terriennes avec des instruments à vent de toute la Méditerranée, la mer Egée et l'ensemble du Moyen-Orient.
