If you grew up on a steady diet of Christian alternative, punk, and metal in the late 1980's and early 1990's, there's no way you could have avoided hearing about Scaterd Few. Scaterd Few was quite possibly the most controversial band coming out of the Christian music industry at that time. From their outward appearance and the way they sounded to the things they sang about and the rumors of "questionable" behavior at festivals and concerts, they made a lasting impact on angst-ridden and rebellious kids like me who always liked to push the envelope of what it meant to be an "acceptable" Christian teen. Vocalist and songwriter Allan Aguirre was the face everyone associated with Scaterd Few. Much like KISS has Gene Simmons with his Demon makeup and fire-breathing, Scaterd Few had Aguirre screaming and wailing about drive-by shootings, drug use, killing your flesh, and other "taboo" subjects CCM artists were too scared to talk about in front of a safe youth group crowd. From the dreads on top of his head to the lipstick and makeup on his eyebrow-less face, Aguirre set the precedent for what was to become the norm in the underground Christian music scene. Fast-forward some thirty years and Aguirre is now the overseer of Chameleon Church, which he describes as "a gathering of non-denominational / Spirit-filled Believers of the Way established in the scriptural roots of the faith." He is also the author of three books centered on spirituality and the Owner / Director of Operations for a publishing and clothing company. Let's not forget to mention he is planning to work on some new music soon. Needless, to say, there was plenty to talk to Allan about when I sat down with him for this interview. We chatted a little bit about "Music" before diving heavily into the "More" category of the website's name. To lighten the mood, we did talk superheroes and "Movies" as well. Jump right into one of my favorite conversations I've had with anyone and get ready to have your beliefs and faith challenged. Let's just say Allan Aguirre definitely doesn't swim with the current. Did I mention he is one of the most sincere and dedicated men I've ever come in contact with. Oh yeah, and a childhood musical hero to me as well. I probably didn't have to say that, though. For more info on Allan Aguirre and what he's up to, check out his Facebook. Please visit www.moviesmusicmore.com for more cool news, features and interviews like this.

Back in 1991, Joey and Jared Svendsen’s lives would change forever at Cornerstone Festival. As 14 and 16 year olds, we waited with the crowds for this band Scaterd Few to take the stage. At the first chord, it was love at first sight. Attitude, punk, a bit of a twisted vibe, and this guy was singing about God? 27 years later, the album is just as musically relevant, standing the test of time, and maintaining a spot in both of our top tens of all time. Aguirre, frontman, joins the show to reminisce on Cornerstone '91, reflect on his musical career, talk about his life and faith, and grace us with his time to make our lives complete.

Chapter 130: "The Feasts Unlocked" ...as written by Allan Aguirre (Spy Glass Blue, Scaterd Few) If you know me at all you may have already heard that I'm kind of a Scaterd Few fan. Allan Aguirre has written a book based on Leviticus 23 and it's my privilege to help him get it out there. Allan discusses what the book is about, the challenges of writing and why he even decided to write in the first place. It's not a music-centric chapter, but when you get an opportunity to help somebody out that you've been listening to since you were thirteen...you do it. http://planetbluemedia.com This was my first Facebook live event with the podcast. Happy Easter, you! Sam West, drummer of Stavesacre joins the story with his story. This guy is a drumming hero of mine. Scaterd Few "Sin Disease" and "JawboneOfAnAss". Are you kidding me? Sam tells us about his family and how he is surrounded by musicians. Sam tells us about Stavesacres' upcoming album and producing it with the great Paul Figueroa. He covers his timeline, auditioning for the band AMEN, kid stories, how he came into Scaterd Few and how grumpy Omar was at the audition. Sam tells us about subbing for the Supertones, Plankeye, Audio Adrenaline, legal issues with recording Jawbone, first Saviour Machine show which led from their drummer not showing up. Seriously? We get Sam's introduction to the film industry through our hero Matt Kitchens which led to his day job on The Real. Then for some reason I tell a story about a Violent Femmes show...not sure why I felt compelled to tell that story. I get to tell Sam that I used his "Speakeasy" drumset on my band's new ep. Greetings! Hey look... it's a new Never Was! 2015 marked the 25 year anniversary of an album largely unknown by the masses, and even by those students of passionate, artistic expression within Christendom: Sin Disease, the debut full length album from punk/alt rock pioneers, Scaterd Few (sic - but you should already know that) I spoke with Allan Aguire about the time period, the process and the experiences that went into this album so many years ago and the impact it had on me and so many others. Because this album was so important to me, I had to call in some backup: We'll hear from Sam West, former drummer of Scaterd Few and eventual drummer of Stavesacre and... Fly fishing, mountain life, and making punk history...just a few highlights found on this first of 2 chapters of chapter twelve. The Godfather (yup, we said it) of Christian hardcore, Allan Aguirre (aka Ramald Domkus) shares some exclusive history on the origins of Scaterd Few, Cygnet, which later became Spy Glass Blue, and the highs and lows of starting a grassroots street ministry in the meanest streets of Los Angeles, CA in the 1980s amongst gang violence. His legacy with Scaterd Few literally inspired countless bands who would be a massive influence, along with Allan, in the 1990s. Featured here on this first half, we hear about Allan's first pre- Scaterd Few punk band in 1981 that ministered to many in Guatamala. We also get to hear about played in a band with Don Bolles from The Germs and 45 Grave before Scaterd Few, and meeting the legendary Terry Taylor in the early 80s, Allan's relationship with HR and Bad Brains, and what would become the Scaterd Few we know and love in the late 80s and early 90s. This episode is an almost overwhelming wealth of story telling for the hard core Scaterd Few fans out there both young and old.
