Our super talented friend, Fiona Rene, came on the pod today to chat about her latest recurring role on Stumptown on ABC. Johnny met Fiona working on the mega blockbuster hit, "Sinister Squad," not be confused with the mediocre Suicide Squad. Right away, Johnny could tell she was a great actress. She talked about working on Stumptown, teaching the future of immersive acting and how the ABC diversity showcase helped her land more work.
The rotary club grapples with a nasty Thanos infestation, an old-timey senator suggests we all do a Purge, and Barack Obama helps solve the mystery of Lauren's dog's farts. Sinister Squad: https://youtu.be/C_QcAHiLS24

The Asylum makes terrible movies in hopes that you'll rent the wrong movie instead of the Hollywood blockbuster with a similar name/poster. Fuck them hard. Phoenix did an internship there for a bit when he was in film school. We've reviewed their movies on this show before (Sharknado 2 & 3) but this one is quite terrible. What's the plot? Good fucking question. Phoenix still doesn't know and he watched the movie then discussed it for 35 minutes. He almost gave up 15 minutes into this but decided to press on. Get past that point in this episode and it gets better.

Well, we called an audible this week and good lord we fucking paid for it We watched Asylum studio’s answer to Suicide squad, Sinister squad and now we all hate ourselves
Dans cet épisode, Adrien, Gaylord, Lucille, Ben et Éric vous parlent de Moon Knight, Head Lopper et Black Panther dans les revues, ils sont allés voir Suicide Squad au ciné, et se sont infligé Sinister Squad.
On the show this week, we've heard of squad goals, but this is ridiculous! Casey and Dan saw the latest superhero swing-and-a-miss with Suicide Squad, while Greg stayed at home with his catnip and narrowly avoided losing one of his Nine Lives with the Asylum masterpiece (of crap!) Sinister Squad. But don't worry, he'll see Nine Lives eventually and report back. Plus, we puth on the new album by Charlie Puth as punishment, and roll for movies next week. All of this, plus movie reviews, news discussions, and a barrel* of laughs! Listen up - hey, why not? *Laughs may not fill regulation sized barrel, some assembly required or BYOB (bring your own barrel) it's late and I'm tired and also sorry and do you guys read all the way through these things? I guess we'll find out! The team review Sinister Squad... not the one that came out at the cinema with Will Smith, the cheap knock-off straight-to-DVD version. The Cinematic Flushers take on fairy tale villains! When Death (Nick Principe) wants to leave the Underworld and raise Hell in greater Los Angeles, it's up to a badly accented British Alice (Christina Licciardi) and a group of public domain fairy tale villains to stop him. What follows are production values so low you'll think you're watching a YouTube video from ten years ago. Special note: This supervillain mess is actually a sequel to last year's, AVENGERS GRIMM, a shameless AVENGERS ripoff that we also flushed HERE. Joining us as part of extended co-flushing team this time out are C-Mart and Undies of Wondy from The Brotherhood Of Evil Geeks.
Well, Suicide Squad is coming out... but it's expensive to go to the movies and also we don't wanna. So instead we sent a confused and put-upon mother to our local Blockbuster that no longer exists and had her rent the Suicide Squad ripping-off mockbuster Sinister Squad! Isn't it redundant to have a personified Death that is trying to kill people? Why is the Pied Piper, the only character in this movie with mind control in his original fairy tale, the only one here without mind control powers? But the hundred-million dollar question: will this rip-off prove to be a better movie than Suicide Squad? Help us carry on the grand tradition of mythpunk stories not really translating to the screen, and at the same time reset our ratings scale for movies that are really and truly poor with 2016's Sinister Squad!
