MOSAIC stands for Month of Shows, Art, Ideas and Culture.  There's a month-long celebration for residents to enjoy. On the South Florida Fairgrounds sets a village that transports visitors back in time. A collection of relocated and reassembled buildings make up Yesteryear Village, offering a glimpse of what life looked like prior to 1940. But it may not only be the buildings that were transported to this outdoor history museum. Stories of the spirits of those who used to call those buildings home have been reported since the first building was put in place in 1990. This episode of Phantom History dives into the history of some of those buildings and we hear about paranormal encounters directly from the lead investigator at War Party Paranormal.

The first coming up is 03/30RELAY FOR LIFE OF WESTERN PALM BEACH COUNTY and is happening at the South Florida Fairgrounds. The next one is 4/6 Relay for Life Southern Palm Beach County and then 4/13 Relay for Life Northern Palm Beach. Funds raised go to help research, education and programs, Some of the programs in Palm Beach County include Rides to Treatment - driving patients to treatment, TLC hair loss and mastectomy products, To volunteer or get info on programs listeners can go to cancer.org

Talked with Elizabeth Harfmann, Palm Beach Animal Care and Control; Lauren Ellis, Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League; Zara Roach and Susan Stuart, Big Dog Ranch Rescue. They are getting ready for their 5th annual Countdown 2 Zero pet adoption event on September 8th. This year it is in a new location at the South Expo building at the South Florida Fairgrounds. Admission/Parking are free. They will have over 20 animal rescues on site. Listeners can see dogs, cats, guinea pigs, etc. Listeners can also volunteer at the event or at any of the rescues. To volunteer at the event go to www.countdown2zero.org and to find out about volunteering/fostering stop by the rescue booths at the event. It's Saturday, September 8th from 10a-4p at the South Florida Fairgrounds. Admission/Parking are free. The adoption cost varies depending on the rescue. Note: Do not bring pets.

Talked with Jesse Mejia, Coordinator, Marine Corps Reserve Toys For Tots and Kat Krum, President, Palm Beach County's Motorcyclists Toys For Tots, Inc. The Marine Corps Toys For Tots began in 1947. The mission of the U. S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program is to collect new, unwrapped toys during October, November and December each year, and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to less fortunate children in the community. Kat is President of PBC Motorcyclists Toys For Tots and they are doing their 35th Annual Bill's Bike Run for Toys For Tots. It's on December 10th and motorcyclists line up at the South Florida Fairgrounds and then ride in a parade to Dreyer Park. Participants bring an unwrapped toy or you can donate $10 at the park and they'll use the it to buy toys. Iheart is working with both Jesse and Kat. WKGR-FM will be doing Bill's Bike Run, and the 12 Guitars of Christmas toy drive at PGA National on December 14th. WZZR-FM is doing 12 Days of Chaos on December 17th at Twisted Tuna in Port St. Lucie. WOLL-FM is doing Mo & Sally's Dueling Toy drive on the 9th at 3 PBC Toys R Us locations: Mo in Wellington, Sally in PBG and Curtis in Boynton Beach, Lots of fun ways for listeners to donate toys and enjoy the holidays.
