Feeling that we had all lost our sense of humanity, Paul McCoy originally wrote the song in 2006 about the inconceivable tragedies of this world and, as he reflects now, the need for a song like this never truly went away. Almost 20 years later, this song is more relevant than ever.The song is filled with candid lyrics, such as “What kind of world do we live in? // where love is divided by hate?” Heart-wrenching verses build up to explosive choruses, leaving behind a message that is certain to be remembered.“'World So Cold' is a song I wrote about my view of the world. I wrote this song almost 20 years ago about how messed up the world seemed to me. I can honestly say that I don't feel like it's gotten any better over the last 20 years. I remember sitting in the lounge of the music studio messing around with an acoustic guitar while the TV was on in the background. I saw a news story about another person on a shooting rampage, and in that moment, I just started singing the melody that became 'World So Cold'. I realized that all humans can become a byproduct of their environments. Pipeman chats with Coosh (vocals) and Pete Rizzi (bass) from New Jersey's red hot heavy rock/metal band WHO ON EARTH who will be releasing their new album, It Takes The Village, on May 8thCurrent Singles: VigilanceFor Fans Of: Iron Maiden, Dio, Queensryche, Ozzy, Ghost, ClutchWho On Earth cut its teeth through relentless gigging across the New York tri-state area, with founding members Coosh and Pete previously tearing up stages as MadHaus. During 2020, the longtime collaborators shifted focus from covers to original material, quickly writing ten songs and entering Sonic Stomp Studio with producer Mike Orlando (Category 7, Adrenaline Mob). Joined by drummer Joe D'Aqui, the group crafted a heavy, story-driven sound rooted in influences like Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Metallica, Alice in Chains, and Tool. Despite pandemic delays, the sessions yielded their debut full-length album Blame', released in October 2022.Following the addition of guitarists Bruce Gatewood and Johnny James Barone, the band gained traction with a heavier reimagining of Toto's “Hold the Line,” now their most-streamed track. Lineup changes continued with drummer Howie Fallon joining in 2024, bringing renewed chemistry and power, though tragedy struck later that year with the passing of Gatewood. In late 2024, Jimmy Kocha joined, filling the role of co-lead guitarist, solidifying the lineup that is currently in full force today. Honoring his legacy, the band pushed forward, releasing the Smoke & Mirrors EP in March 2025—a sharp, socially reflective six-song release. (February 3, 2026) — Fifty five years after its release, Don McLean's “American Pie” remains one of the most enduring anthems in American music — a sweeping, eight minute epic that captured a nation in transition and immortalized the phrase “the day the music died.” Today, as “American Pie” turns 55 (1971–2026), McLean is celebrating the milestone on tour while also helping propel a new chapter of preservation at the Surf Ballroom & Museum in Clear Lake, Iowa.The Surf Ballroom — the National Historic Landmark where Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and J.P. “The Big Bopper” Richardson performed on February 2, 1959 as part of the Winter Dance Party tour — announced that a life size bronze statue honoring McLean will be erected on-site in 2027. The statue will stand as a permanent tribute to the songwriter whose work helped carry the story of that night into global cultural memory, bridging generations of listeners, historians and music fans.The new statue is inspired from an existing life size bronze portrait created by acclaimed sculptor Zenos Frudakis (Philadelphia). Originally completed in 1989, the portrait was featured on the cover of McLean's album ‘Classics'. Frudakis, an acclaimed portrait sculptor and lifelong friend of McLean, is known the world over for his statues of Muhammad Ali, Nina Simone, President Dwight D. Eisenhower, and many more. And we discussed the album art which all made Pipeman mention that Chloe should do a tour with Heilung. “The song is about the stories we tell ourselves, and the external falsehoods- together,” CHLOE says. “It has double meaning, the more superficial one, regarding external aspects, but more so a deeper meaning, about letting go of control, of limiting beliefs, of the ego trying to protect us in our comfort zone and we stay stuck. Learning to say goodbye to the old self. The internal self-deception—when you begin to shed layers, letting go of your old identities, you can start to see the real you. Growth requires stepping into the unknown and facing your fears. It's about spiritual transcendence.”  CHLOE adds, “At its core, the message is personal, but also universal, as I believe we all inflict ourselves with some kind of self-punishment. It's about saving ourselves for that and seeing our true self.”“Lies” follows the album's first single, the soulfully expressive metal song “As the Sky is Falling Down.” The track's ominous guitar underscores the Paris-born and Los Angeles-based artist's moving and haunting delivery. Not to mention the bass playing from Max Hiske on this EP is so groovin', it really adds so much more depth to the tracks.” – PythonicFor fans of Lamb of God, Morbid Angel, Devildriver, Black Dahlia MurderAbout the EP Artwork:The album artwork was done by the same artist as EP01, Danya Lawton. We got her again for the simple fact that we wanted to take the existing artwork from EP01 and “decay” it. Danya did research on the kind of mushrooms that grow on trees to give a more authentic look to a decaying tree. There is also the added eye in the center of the tree to give it a bit of a possessed feeling. We also did the art in this fashion because a lot of the songs have been shortened from their original counterparts. So, as most musicians compose music, in this case, we “Decomposed” the songs, hence the name Decomposition. The theme of decomposition in the art also helps to drive a more death metal approach that had been taken with the songs.About The EP:Lyrically, this EP, within the songs, is a lot more cohesive; the song themes stay on topic the whole time, unlike the past release we have done. I think the short amount of time that a lot of the lyrics were written definitely helped to make them stay on topic. The lyrics are a lot heavier, and that also comes with the delivery. The lyrics are also a lot more raw because they come from a more true-to-person source. The lyrics are truly lived when they are personal, and the non-personal ones just unfold vivid imagery as they are in “Liturgy”.Musically, the EP came out way more aggressively than last time. Jayden really cooked on the drum parts for the EP. The beats just get a person moving, then when you add Max's thundering bass to connect it with the riffs, you've got magic.
