This explosive discussion covers: Florida HOA gun ban controversy Second Amendment rights in HOA communities Concealed carry laws in Florida Constitutional carry in Florida Port St. Lucie HOA backlash Self-defense rights under Florida law Armed American Radio commentary Gun rights vs HOA authority Tradition Community Association controversy If you believe your constitutional rights DO NOT end at your neighborhood entrance, this is a must-watch discussion.

In addition, he is not allowed to vote in his home state of Texas, a better pill to swallow for a man who describes himself as a Ron Paul constitutionalist. In this week's completely unhinged yet somehow heartfelt edition of The Update Journal, we begin where all responsible adults do in February: convincing ourselves that this is the year. Spring Training is back, Mets and Yankees fans are stretching like it's emotional yoga, and I am once again refilling my Optimism Cup like it's bottomless brunch in Port St. Lucie. Will there be a parade? Probably not. Will we talk ourselves into one anyway? Absolutely. Then—because I have a college degree and apparently refuse to use it responsibly—we pivot into a conversation I never expected to have on a show that once covered transit budgets and mayoral press conferences: the sociology, psychology, and complete chaos theory of “trash dick vs. quality dick.” At some point during this segment, I paused mid-rant and asked myself, What happened to my life? My producers considered cutting my mic. Tommie texted me, “Are you okay?” I am not.And finally, before we head into President's Week and gear up for the march toward our 9th anniversary, we land the plane with The Last Word—a Valentine's note to Tommie. Because after baseball delusion and academic disgrace, the only thing that makes sense is love. Sweet, sincere, “please don't judge what I said earlier in this episode” love. It's optimism, existential crisis, and romance—all in one episode. Just another calm, normal week on The Update. In the headlines on #TheUpdate this Friday, a 40-year-old panhandler was shot dead inside a Midtown 7-Eleven after he held the door open for the gunman and asked him for money, cops and sources said.New York politicians defiantly raised a rainbow flag at the Stonewall National Monument amid a boisterous, cheering crowd, rebuking the Trump administration for removing the well-known symbol of pride from the LGBTQ+ landmark. And in Minneapolis, the Trump administration is ending a massive immigration crackdown that swept across the Minneapolis-St. Paul area and other Minnesota communities, border czar Tom Homan said, concluding an operation that led to thousands of arrests, angry mass protests and the fatal shootings of two U.S. citizens.

Spring training has entered that strange middle phase where the World Baseball Classic is grabbing attention and Mets camp has slowed down just a bit. But there's still plenty happening in Port St. Lucie as Opening Day continues to get closer. One of the biggest conversations right now centers on the Mets rotation and whether a six-man setup actually makes sense. If we're being honest, the reason this topic keeps coming up starts with Kodai Senga. Keeping the Mets' ace fresh for the stretch run could be the biggest reason to consider spreading out innings, but the question remains whether altering routines early in the season is worth it.Christian Scott also returned to the mound in the Mets' exhibition win over Team Israel, throwing two scoreless innings while allowing just one hit and striking out two. It's another positive step for a pitcher the Mets hope can provide valuable depth to the staff this season. Mark Vientos helped power the offense in that 5–0 win with a home run as the Mets handled Israel comfortably.Elsewhere around camp, Brett Baty is beginning to look like the Mets' version of a super-utility player. With Jeff McNeil no longer in the picture, Baty has been getting reps in right field while still seeing time around the infield as the Mets search for ways to keep his bat involved. There's also encouraging news on the health front. Francisco Lindor has resumed baseball activities after his hamate bone surgery and says he's confident he'll be ready for Opening Day — a major boost for a lineup that depends heavily on his production and leadership. We'll also dive into the early discussion surrounding a potential Freddy Peralta contract extension and whether the Mets should pursue a long-term deal or take a shorter approach for flexibility. Plus, MLB Network's Top 10 Right Now lists at third base and shortstop always spark debate around the league. And to close things out, we'll take a trip through Mets history and look at some of the worst shortstops and third basemen to ever wear the uniform — players who struggled both offensively and defensively during their time in Queens.Spring training might feel quieter right now, but there's still plenty to break down as the Mets continue preparing for the season.See you in the booth. #Mets #PiitB #PutItInTheBooks

Stugotz checks in with Taylor live from Port St. Lucie, where he’s officially on the ground as our Mets’ Spring Training correspondent. Taylor provides an update on his apartment search in South Florida, which all sounds fishy after they moved his original move-in date, and Mikey A thinks he's being played. Finally, Patrick Mahomes restructured his contract to give the Chiefs more cap space, and this might be the time to buy low on Kansas City before they make major moves this offseason. Spring training is here, the Mets have arrived in Port St. Lucie, and Farace and Rodriguez are already in midseason form: caffeinated, opinionated, and ready to overreact to everything Steve Cohen says within a five-mile radius of a microphone. Producer Joe is, of course, behind the wall, armed with sound drops, bad timing, and just enough chaos to derail any serious baseball conversation at the worst possible moment. This week's show starts where every Mets week apparently starts now: with Steve Cohen. The owner made it very clear that there will be no captain as long as he owns the team, which somehow turned into a bigger storyline than half the roster reporting to camp. Is that confidence? Stubbornness? A billionaire's version of “because I said so”? We'll get into whether Cohen sounds frustrated, what it says about last year's clubhouse, and why he seemed genuinely perplexed that Edwin Díaz chose the Dodgers. Yes, that still stings, and yes, Farace is absolutely going to squeeze at least five minutes out of that one.On the field side, Francisco Lindor is basically doing captain duties without the title, fielding questions about the locker room and last season like the adult in the room, while Juan Soto is handling the move to left field like it's no big deal and even tossing some love toward Carson Benge in the process. Add in the general vibe coming out of camp and suddenly the Mets are… confident? That usually means something bad is about to happen, but we'll enjoy it while it lasts. We'll also dig into MLB Network's Top 10 Right Now lists for starters and relievers, and where the Mets' arms fit into that picture, because the potential staff is quietly very, very good. The big question: do you actually run six starters out there and make it a real thing, or is that just spring training optimism talking? Either way, the pitching depth is going to be a real storyline, not just a spring buzzword. Then it's time for the rookies. Bring them on. Who's actually pushing for a role, who's just getting a long look, and who's going to become a fan favorite before April is over? We'll sort through the names, the hype, and the reality. And yes, we are once again saying WBC… stop it. We'll go through the cons of the World Baseball Classic, the risk-reward nonsense, and why Mets fans are always one awkward slide away from collective panic. Somewhere in there, Luke Weaver showing up to camp with a Yankees bag will get the “read the room, man” treatment it deserves, because some things are just unforgivable in Queens. Finally, we're spinning the wheel for blind ranking, but this time it's all-time Mets. Not just this year's roster. The entire history is in play. Legends, fan favorites, chaos picks, and at least one name that will make Producer Joe laugh and everyone else groan. The category: Mets players you'd most want to have a drink with. It's guaranteed arguments, bad logic, nostalgia, and at least one “how did that guy end up there?” moment. It's spring, it's Mets, it's Cohen quotes, pitching debates, WBC complaining, and a wheel that's about to cause problems. In other words, a perfectly normal episode of Put It in the Books. #PutItInTheBooks #PiitB #Mets

On 09/20/1988, 19-year-old Tara Leigh Calico left her home in Belen, New Mexico, for her daily bike ride along Highway 47. She never returned. Nearly four decades later, her disappearance remains one of the most haunting and controversial missing persons cases in American history. This episode of The Guilty Files traces Tara's life from her childhood and active years at Belen High School to her studies in psychology at the University of New Mexico–Valencia Campus. We examine the morning she vanished, including her final conversation with her mother and witness reports of a light-colored 1953 Ford pickup truck following closely behind her pink Huffy bicycle. We explore  the infamous Polaroid photograph found 9 months later in Port St. Joe, Florida, showing a bound young woman and a boy in the back of a white cargo van. Conflicting expert analyses—from Scotland Yard, Los Alamos National Laboratory, and the FBI—only deepened the mystery. We examine long-standing local theories, allegations of a cover-up involving prominent families, and former Sheriff Rene Rivera's 2008 claim that Tara was accidentally struck and killed by local teenagers. We also explore a disturbing deathbed confession alleging Tara's body was hidden by the son of the sheriff in office at the time. The episode honors the tireless efforts of Tara's parents, who died without answers, and highlights the work of investigators and advocates who continue to push for the truth. It concludes with the 06/2023 announcement by Valencia County authorities that the case has been submitted for prosecutorial review. As of 2025, no charges have been filed, and the identities of those believed responsible remain sealed.

In this episode of The Leader's Notebook, I continue our series, Also Featured in the Cast, with a look at the Apostle Paul—not as the star of the story, but through the lives of three people who shaped his journey: Ananias, Barnabas, and Stephen. Each of these men was “also mentioned in the cast,” yet each played an indispensable role in God's plan. Ananias obeyed a terrifying call to reach out to a persecutor. Barnabas became the encourager who restored others when no one else would. And Stephen's Christlike suffering sowed the seeds of Paul's conversion. Their stories remind us that God often works through ordinary people in unseen moments—and that our obedience, compassion, and faithfulness may change lives in ways we'll never fully know. – Dr. Mark Rutland Chapters (00:00:03) - The Leaders Notebook(00:00:25) - The Unfamiliar Margaret Hamilton(00:02:18) - Acts 4, The Son of Exclamation(00:06:30) - Three Disciples of Paul the Apostle(00:13:24) - The crazy old Welshman from Port St. Joe(00:16:51) - Barnabas and Saul of Tarsus(00:22:30) - The Life of Barnabas(00:26:46) - Paul the Apostle and Saul of Tarsus(00:32:54) - Suffering in the Gospel(00:37:59) - The Leader's Notebook

Perhaps a light touch on the shoulder, the moving of an object, a whisper in the ear, or a cold chill for the more intense cases. But then there are those hauntings that leave the person hysterical… or physically hurt… or even dead. We'll look at some of the most violent ghosts and hauntings of all time. (History's Most Violent Ghosts) *** Dixon, Illinois needed a bridge – Mr. L.E. Truesdell was an expert bridge builder. But people had doubts as to whether what he was being asked to do could be accomplished. The naysayers were ignored – and tragedy arrived, (The Truesdell Bridge Disaster) *** The witch trials in Salem, Massachusetts were horrid… the trials in Europe even more so. Now, imagine being a soldier tried as a witch because you returned with supernatural knowledge imparted to you after you were abducted by extraterrestrials. It sounds like the makings of a terrible novel and an even worse movie… but it's the true story of Major Thomas Weir. (Evils of the Toybox Killer) *** Our criminal justice system tries to be the most fair in the world – considering the accused “innocent until proven guilty.” And while our system is not perfect, for the most part it does its job well. But because it is not perfect, once in a while a murderer walks… or even worse, an innocent defendant goes to prison. And in some cases, that innocent person is convicted and imprisoned based on one thing – they confessed to the crime that they didn't commit. Why would someone do that? (Why Do Innocent People Confess?) *** Port St. Lucie, Florida is full of disturbing urban legends – some true, many false – as urban legends go. But somehow, most all of these terrifying stories tie back to a single oak tree in a neighborhood park, and Florida's first serial killer.
